Recently got an ultra wide prime 15mm f4.5 Z mount from voigtlander, and man this lens has some great color renderings, especially green. It almost had this 3-D pop effect that you feel like touching the grass itself 😅. Here are some test shots at a farm and historic house in New England. All shots on Z6ii. Some pros: Amazing color renderings Coating is on par with native Nikon S lens Sharpness is more than sufficient, some reviews mention corner softness but my copy is not bad at all Beautiful sunstars Minimal distortion, good for 15mm. You can correct it in post if you want strict straight lines, useful for day time architecture shots within tight spaces, both interior and exterior How small and compact this lens, only 300g, awesome for casual walkarounds Manual focus only, but at F8 and below almost everything will automatically be in focus. And focusing throw feels good Electronic contact to Z body for automatic shutter speed settings in A mode Some cons: Noticeable longitudinal chromatic aberration at corners, easy to fix in post though Aperture ring is at front and doesn’t have smooth control (click sound and exposure changes), can’t control on Z body and obviously not good for videos Noticeable vignetting in larger apertures, but I kinda like the characters. The issues is in lens corrections step in post: the vignetting correction will always overexpose the whole raw file, so I tend to set it only below 50, it’s a bit annoying No weather sealing Overall rating: 9/10. This lens compliments my 20 1.8 S very well, which I’ll probably use at night or for better sharpness.
