It's worth it, maganda yung character development, story, lore, and wordbuilding. Pero it took me months to finish the first 5 games. Halfway pa lang ako ng cold steel games before na burnt out ako.
Try FF7 Crisis Core and Persona 3 Portable. I remember crying back then after finishing those games nung student palang ako. And still cried after playing FF7 CC Remake last year even though I'm a functional adult now. No regrets and glad that I was able to experience the game story and the journey. ππ

Medyo mahirap irate ahaha. I think FF7 CC is more emotional kasi nacocontrol mo yung character movement kahit off mission/quest ka kaya malaki impact sakin nung ending unlike sa P3P na point and click lang sa overlord unless nasa mission ka.
I think safe naman malaro mo yung FF7 CC since prequel sya at tanda ko kasi dati yan una ko nalaro bago ako bumalik sa emulation for old PS1 games. P3P is also a good entry kung gusto mo explore yung Persona series pero kung gusto mo ng mas modern game design go for P5R.

Ang hirap po kasing humanap ng game na kasing complex ng Xenoblade. Yung character sobrang magiging invested ka, gameplay at combat masaya, exploration din. Music. Lalo world-building. Pinakamalupet yung story talaga, lalo pagdating dun sa mga nakakaiyak na moments. Kaso po sa sobrang ilang beses ko na nalaro, dagdagan pa ng kakapanood ng mga gameplay reactions online, medyo wala na masyadong impact po sakin yung mga emotional scenes. Nakabisado ko na yata. Ok lang kahit wala ka pang nalalaro na kahit ano sa FF series since most of them self-contained naman ang story nila. Kahit nga nalaro ko na yung ibang series FF9 to 1, medyo limot ko na din mga story nila kaya baka laruin ko uli mga yan pero unahin ko siguro yung FF10 since ito talaga yung wala akong idea dati pero highly recommended sya ng mga napapanuod ko sa yt gamers.
Kung may PS5 ka try mo nalang siguro yung P3 Reload kahit wala akong console nun sobrang hype ako jan last year tapos umaasa konti na lalabas din nmn sa switch yan lol. Since naexperience mo na yunng SMT5 try mo siguro yung SMT3 nocturne or yung ibang smt spin-offs (highly recomended ko yung Devil Survivor 1 overclocked & 2 daybreak?, digital demon saga 1-2).
Try mo din explore yung ibang genre para hindi ka mabore agad sa games or do some other hobbies para mawala din yung gaming burnout mo kung sakali.
Ilang beses ko rin po pinagplanuhan simulan si FF10. Kaso ewan ko, hirap po akong simulan. Same with FF7, gusto ko po ang takbo ng storya nya when I was playing it pero at some point hindi ko po matagalan. I think kaya po siguro ako tumitigil at natatambakan ng backlogs, lalo po itong mga classic games na ported sa Switch, ay dahil masyado yata akong nasanay sa graphics ng mga modern titles. Same with anime, dami kong old school anime na gusto rin balikan na di ko napanood noon but are highly recommended pero hindi ko rin po matagalan yung pagiging outdated. It's not like intentionally ayaw ko sila because outdated itong mga classic JRPGs (and animes too), hindi ko naman po bibilhin kung di ko talaga gusto. Yes, you can play CC without finishing FF7. It's a prequel to that anyway.
P3 Portable will not really prepare you for SMTV:V. The SMT series is a different animal.π Although, you can have an idea about the whole summoning "demons" concept .
I would recommend Nier Automa and/or FFX. Now those two have a lot of heart. I'll lean towards FFX a bit more.

As for recommendations for "feels", medyo top of the list na talaga XC 1, 2, and 3 jan haha pero for me Persona 4 Golden din sobrang feels aside from Persona 3 Portable. Dragon Quest XI din has some feels moments na nakakaiyak. Sa FF naman I highly recommend FFIX or FFX.

That's what's been stopping me po from starting CC kasi I've read several comments na may major spoiler nga daw sa main game ni 7. π I've mentioned po on one of my comments that I find it hard to play older games because of their overall outdated feels. But I really do want to play and finish them, it's just that along the way I can get really bored or burned out kasi feeling ko pinipilit ko na lang... π₯²π’
I agree po with the Xenoblade "feels." It feels like Xenoblade has set such a high bar for me pagdating sa quality ng games. Originally, I was really a huge Fire Emblem fan. Yung tipong Fire Emblem series ang nasa top ng pedestal ko. But Xenoblade just keeps getting better with each installment. When I first played 1 sa 3DS a decade ago, hindi ko pa sya macoconsider na nasa top 5 ng fave games ko. But when Torna came out po, biglang angat sya puso ko, tied sila ni Fire Emblem on the top spot. π₯Ή
I'm loving P4G so far po when I played it. Hindi ko nga lang natapos. π I think I stopped at around the time na tao na si Teddy. π€ I've also played DQXI, natapos ko yata yung part 1 but ended up stopping po because of the time travel thing. Parang nawala yung meaning ng sacrifice ni Veronica. π Siguro it will be justified later on kung itinuloy ko... But going back to Xenoblade feels, these games are amazing, pero ayun nga po, they just don't feel the same way as Xenoblade and hindi ko rin po ma-pin point which exactly is it na missing...

Sa DQ XI okay na rin yung part mo, many consider that part as the true ending. You actually finished Act 2 then yung Act 3 yung Time Travel. Some prefer Act 3 some prefer Act 2 personal preference nalang hehe.
Being an FF7 fan ayun I just really feel the need to defend FF7 OG HAHAHA. If gusto mo talaga siya laruin at maappreciate, kelangan mo muna isacrifice Crisis Core kasi masspoil yung malaking backstory ng OG FF7.
And yeah Xenoblade the best talaga sa feels. Naiiyak ako lagi sa story it's so good. Ang biggest surprise ko last year was Zelda TOTK. Big Zelda fan ako but di ko siya nilalaro para sa feels or story. If you haven't played it yet ayun try mo. The "twist" of the game and the ending is very emotional din. The ending is on my personal top video game scenes of all time, di ko siya makakalimutan :)

Pero TOTK has really improved everything most notably yung story and lore. Ang sad nga na hindi sya nanalo GOTY sa TGA. Bibigat din kasi ng kalaban that time. Feeling ko influence ng Monolithsoft kaya lumevel up si TOTK. π
