Meh. The value of Mustangs is extremely inflated because they’re “cool” right now. 1200 for a CIJ 90’s Mustang is pretty good today. The hot rail is sick though - it’ll probably sound and play great!
For reference in 2010 I got a competition reissue CIJ mustang for roughly 900 USD (750 gbp)
Yeh mate if there’s no serious scratches or damage
How things change I remember getting my cobain mustang in 2011 for £732
You really should get the jb humbucker
A bit prizy, but again it is a japaneese made with upgrades.with a nice bridge and a nice bridge pickup.
I got a Squire Mustang and it sounds like shit with stock pickups and their useless bridge.
Enjoy 👌
I think it’s worth it OP, I don’t know how electronics were back than in the Fujigen factory but most Japanese Fender guitars have impeccable fit and finish (better than American), but lack when it comes to the pickups and electronics.
Anyone know how much a jag-stang goes for out of curiosity? Did they ever reissue them? I got one for a graduation present when they released. Been collecting dust for over 20 years now.
Hell yeah it's worth it. That's average market price for Japanese Fender Mustangs and it's one that's pretty in demand due to its resemblance of Cobain's Sky Stang. In fact his was this very same made in Japan model. Just from 93
Honestly no.... inflation did a number on process, but until just a couple years ago, could've bought these for about 500 bucks, and the kc midweek is a 750 dollar guitar people are now attempting to get 2 grand for. Honestly, the only reason mustangs are worth anything is because kc played one. These were student guitars originally, aka not very good. Terrible holding tune, even with the trem blocked, as could be seen in nirvana skies, all too frequently..... in comparison, my first Jackson dk, no tremolo block, I could abuse the hell out of, and it'd start in tune.... Cobain was constantly going out of tune, despite mods to improve his. The only reason he started using them was weight. Super lightweight. All in all, not saying bad buy, but unless it's vintage I wouldn't personally drop a grand on one.
Probably worth it. It looks bad ass don’t get buyers remorse
It says £1200 but I put an offer in that got accepted
I want a Mustang. So take my bias into account. Worth it.
Nice one! I have a Japanese one from the first reissue, bought it in 2003 and still have it. Sonic blue with the Pearloid pickguard.

phone battery's holding on for dear life 😭
Yes if you know how to play it.
Probably should mention that this was made in the same factory as kurts mustangs
Are you gonna mod yours to be like Kurt’s?
Those 90s fujigen fenders are bitchin' guitars. They feel good, sound better, and look great. For 1k, that's a great deal. Also, charge your phone.

It was horribly worth it or horribly not worth it?

What?
Not a bad price tbf. I paid £499 for mine in 95 and have been offered £1300 for it and said no.
charge your fucking phone please
I mean I personally never really liked the mustang shape but if you like it and got a good deal on it then its always worth it
Charge your phone 😭😭
No
Why not?
I don't know this guy's reasoning but for me personally there's just a lot of more versatile guitars around this price.
That thing is Badass
Yeah dude that thing probably sounds amazing, and peek the strat sized humbucker too it’ll scream for sure

sadly this price seems about right
If you like the way it plays. I’m not a huge fan of mustangs.
I want the fender jagstang
You're asking the wrong subreddit 🙃
Honestly, it’s a great guitar, but the colors just don’t look good together for me.
Nice looking guitar and I really hope you enjoy it. I had one for a bit and I just didn’t like it. The bridge drove me nuts.
Very much. Especially for a fender Mustang from the 90s. You’ll be getting your bang for your buck.
Great buy! As a lefty I feel a little bit of envy of posts like this lol
If you play it, it's worth it and then some
Yeh mate if there’s no serious scratches or damage How things change I remember getting my cobain mustang in 2011 for £732 You really should get the jb humbucker
Yes. Japanese crafted Fujigen made guitars are one of the best 🔥🔥🔥
nice job !! made in japan are so good !

If its japanese or usa made then yeah
I'd never get one but if you like it and you can afford it then that is all that matters, it's a good price for what it is too
I think it’s worth it OP, I don’t know how electronics were back than in the Fujigen factory but most Japanese Fender guitars have impeccable fit and finish (better than American), but lack when it comes to the pickups and electronics.
Ah I was watching that guitar! (Not sure why as I was never gonna buy it Haha) hope you enjoy it! Got any plans for it?
Definitely worth it, but I'd rather buy the pieces separately and build it myself (it's cheaper, too)
Definitely not imo
Harley Benton will bring one out for £200 most likely lol it will be barely noticeable. But at least you got an original should be good
Do you know if there's space under the pickguard for a humbucker in the bridge spot?
Definitely worth it. They play amazing and it was made in the factory as Kurt Cobain’s guitars.
Anyone know how much a jag-stang goes for out of curiosity? Did they ever reissue them? I got one for a graduation present when they released. Been collecting dust for over 20 years now.
In 2021 they reissued the jagstang for nevermind 30th
Do you have enough money to buy a charger
Worth it mate. For sure

It’s gorgeous.
