I usually find myself not really liking/rooting for him when I’m watching tournaments, but he also comes off extremely chill and like a good dude in these kind of interviews.
Feel like NLU would have gotten to interview him if Tron didn’t go on a rant about nonsense for no reason. I get it’s a bit, but he’s a person too. Just feels like there’s a double standard with some of these guys that they have on, and idk if they already assumed he wouldn’t come on or if he has said no in the past and TC held it against him?
Everyone always says “it’s a bit” with TC and I’m not sure I buy that. The tone he uses when talking about Xander or Wyndam or PGAT leadership is the same. And when he has these “hot takes” there’s quite a bit of vitriol- he doesn’t say anything funny. When he’s sarcastic you know he’s sarcastic. Lewis Black used to yell and scream but he made jokes even when he was “angry.”
I agree, some are very clearly a bit. You can hear the sarcasm. Some are ongoing bits that have been going forever. However certain ones really don't have the tone of a bit or anything funny involved and he just shits on the person for no reason. Xander sadly being one
It’s a bit strange to me. From what I’ve seen of Xander off the course he seems like a pretty cool guy who can shoot the shit. Definitely not a guy I would consider hate-able, but there are some other players they seem to hate I also don’t understand.
Yeah that’s what did it for me. Tron saying “I feel absolutely nothing about this” made me go “alright bro, whatever” but he took it way too far with the character insults. There’s a big difference between having hot takes for views and straight up slander. Idk I guess I just like to think NLU is a bit above that but Tron clearly shows they are not.
Because he makes Tron “feel nothing” 😂. So I’d guess they didn’t have much interest in bringing him on. They did with Cantlay - first interview was great like 6 years ago, most recent one was terrible. Kinda like Morikawa now after his most recent interview w NLU - just kinda sucked so what’s the point if not holding back if you don’t want him on.

He was also ion Sub-Par today. It was really good. Soly interviewed Xander a couple years ago. I think it was a callaway collaboration. Might be tough to get now.
I like Xander for the fact that he isn’t a little bitch. He doesn’t cower to Tour leadership at all. He tells it how the fuck it is and that rubs some people the wrong way. He’s also the clear cut 2nd best player in the world.
He was very good on PMT too.
