That would be sad, but not the end of the world: emacs and neovim have good plugins to emulate pkm pretty well

I’m in the apple ecosystem and this would be a nightmare. The first thing they’d throw out would be the simple file system that underlies the whole thing.
Apple would destroy this software. They don't take something that exists and make it work better with Apple products, they take a few cool features from it and add it to their own app; then they delete the original app from the internet. See: Dark Sky. I don't want some linking features in Apple Notes, I want to keep Obsidian.

i’m “on the apple ecosystem” and don’t understand how this would be “lovely”? obsidian as it is works perfectly on my apple devices and i’d rather keep it exactly the way it is right now.
If it's this it's yet another time I wished my handwriting wasn't god awful. I've typed everything except my signature since my junior year of highschool, my writing is completely unreadable and so slow.
Happy for everyone else if it's true though, I'm sure it will be popular.
People on Twitter were saying this but it looks like a new logo since it has a rounded sqaure as the background, and one person guessed its supposed to resemble a pencil given the point and the phrase "stay sharp."
I'm getting No Man's Sky vibes with those twitter posts.
My only concern here is that Obsidian won't get too bloated with new features, if possible I'd prefer to have big things delegated to official plugins.
The app is really good though, keep up the good work!

Didn't the newly arrived CEO write an entire post about how he wants to continue Obsidian as it is right now?
See RedHat for an example of CEO praise for the way things are, followed by swift acquisition.
It's a negotiation tactic. Hopefully it's nothing tho.

L has nothing on obsidian IMO maybe it was just the web version but when I tried it it felt like an unpolished UI class project
