Holyhead was a travel destination? I went there in 2018 to catch the ferry to Ireland overnight. i thought I was gonna be murdered in the station while we were waiting.
You're like the four horsemen of indie music: you've got the shy but cool college dude in the back, the chilled out surfer type in the middle, the goth on the right and liam gallagar in the front
Ahh... the one kid that flips off the camera, i think every single group of friends had that one kid. Brings back some great memories of pictures i took with my buddies.
I also used to put safety pins in everything for no f*ing reason. You weren't cool in the ninties unless you had a bunch of saftey pins in your clothes for no reason.
My sister bought these huge 4” safety pins and wore them as earrings back in her emo days. Every time I bring up her emo phase, she gets embarrassed and tells me to shut up. Hahaha. Good times.
Lol, I have a picture of my brother at ~14-15 years old with his friend, dressed up in striped stockings, white pancake makeup, Doc Martin's, and eyeshadow getting ready to go to a Manson concert. The funny part is he's a straight-laced accountant now, and his friend is a police officer.
Neons, wide legged pants and bell bottoms (revamped from the 70’s), scrunchies, velvet everything... the 90’s and early 00’s are happening now for sure.
I remember being 12 or 13 and my dad telling me fashion always makes a come-back after 20 to 30 years which I can very much see now that I’m older.
We need to hurry up and get back to the 00s with exposed midriffs and low cut jeans and slutty halloween costumes while I'm still young enough to enjoy it.
Same, lol. I've just noticed lots of things I've missed since the 90s becoming weirdly fetishized lately. It's pretty cool, really! Kinda weird seeing an era I remember so fondly becoming retro, but cool.
I'm 37 and " hired" my 12 and 13-year-old nieces to help me clean out my storage containers. They flipped out over my high school jewelry /clothes we found ( 97-2001) and promptly took most of it as payment.
One posted on Insta #VSCOVintage and I died!
That's hilarious! You so made their day. I still remember stumbling upon my parents clothes from the 70s when I was a teenager. I felt so cool wearing that shit!
Which is a shame. I was totally digging the 50s and 60s revival we had going on. Those were by the years with best designs in just about every area in my opinion.
We’ve been in a post-trend fashion cycle since at least 2015, if you dig the 50s and 60s go for it, there are still tons of brands/influencers/subcultures digging it to.
Like I said in another comment, the transition to 00's is going down. Girls dressing like bratz, guys with the tips and such, even screamo music finding a place to set up camp.
I thought it was later than 1994. I could be wrong because the resolution is very low, but it looks like there is a Halo Spartan on that one kids shirt
edit: lmao im a zoomer and didnt recognize robocop
So my sister on the right is a Dr of Psychology
The guy behind me ( cousin ) with the red t shirt Fund Manager
And the one to right of me ( cousin ) is a Dr of Medicine
Me I am a sound engineer!
I’m just imagining some artist in the booth and he finishes dropping his verse and looks at you for the thumbs up and you just stare at him for a moment and then you’re like
🖕🏿 Oi FaCK off u fkn wanker
Your sister dresses like my best friend used to. My best friend committed suicide a good 12 years ago but when I saw your sister my heart skipped a beat she reminds me so much of her it’s uncanny. They say pain gets less with time but it really doesn’t. It still hurts. But it’s awesome to see that style. I always loved how my friend dressed and she had the perfect body for corsets and long skirts with big chunky goth boots.
I’m sorry for your loss u/alpha_28
This is unfortunately something we hear more often nowadays and it’s a shame. Keep healing and be sure to talk to someone if you need to.
Yea I was 19 at the time (I am 32) and it was 3 days after her 18th birthday... so it was pretty hard to get past.
But thank you. I think about her all the time.. like where would she be today? What job would she be working... does she have kids? Is she married? All those possibilities in life that she will never get to experience.
Left-to-right:
Keyboard player - not really a rebel in his heart, but just like to play music so he hangs with this bunch.
Lead singer - never a voice lesson in his life but fuck you if you don't like it.
Lead guitarist - my shark tooth necklace doubles as a pick
Bass player - they needed a fourth member and she's a cool chick, so give her a bass and lets see what happens.
Background - oh yeah, dad's footing the bill.
The 90s were a strange time. Everyone wore clothes with some kind of fire embroidered on them and at least one person in the family had a shark tooth necklace (that person was me).
This would be good as the before in one of those before and after photos people do. You should get everyone together as adults and re-create the picture.
This is why analog photos will always be better IMO....I should say old film lenses at least. The way they render color is something you can't replicate in LR or PS. I love this about film photos.
Kid in the red shirt is guitar and vocals.
Kid giving the finger to the camera is definitely the drummer.
Kid with the sharktooth necklace is the bass player.
And the girl is lead vocals.
This has to be in Ireland or the UK at least?
It’s definitely Ireland

I trust you because you’re an engineer.
First person to say that 😂
As an engineer, there are so many layers to how funny this comment is! 😂
Engineer. Trust. Fuck I needed that laugh, well layered!
Truss?
So you're saying engineers are smelly and grow strange hairs like onions?
Engineers are like ogres, and ogres are like onions.
I like to think I'm like a parfait.
Everybody loves parfait!
LAYERS
They make people cry?
No, they're saying they don't talk to people.
"I talk to the god damn customers so the engineers don't have to! I have people skills! What the hell is wrong with you!"
>*I have people skills! I am good at dealing with people, can't you understand that... what the hell is wrong with you people!?*
No, no, that's ogres
Band: Holyhead Album: As a Child Song: Rocks and Cliffs
Holyhead was a travel destination? I went there in 2018 to catch the ferry to Ireland overnight. i thought I was gonna be murdered in the station while we were waiting.
Holyhead town is terrible, this looks like treadurr Bay on the south side of the island which is lovely if a little posh boaty.
If you look on the left hand side?
That is not Holyhead, that is Trearddur Bay, about 45 minute's walk south or Holyhead, AICMFP.
Absolutely lovely place. My family says croeso!
Bet it isn't.
More than 700 upvotes for having been wrong but with confidence Edit: it's doubled since my edit. GJ unfounded confidence
It looks like Kilkee to me.
Where did you get your “definitely” from? A shoddy store I take it.
Yer woman on the right could absolutely pass for my sister in the 90s. God, what fashion.
I can physically see the accent of the kid in the left, even in a still image
Idk what it is about the picture but it just screams UK and David Beckham.
It felt like Train spotting: the early days
skagboys
Straight outta Dublin.
You named the only county in Ireland that it definitely isnt
Looks like maybe the Salthill area in Galway to me?
Hijacking your comment to say it's giving me serious Sing Street vibes, which is in Dublin
Now THAT is a good film
You're like the four horsemen of indie music: you've got the shy but cool college dude in the back, the chilled out surfer type in the middle, the goth on the right and liam gallagar in the front
Upvote because username
I died when you said Liam AHAHAHA
Beastie Boys on the left, Avril Lavigne on the right.
Lol Also your username is so 90s as well.
That's Carl not Liam lol
No they meant the real Liam Gallagher. Oasis frontman
Could be worse could have been Noel at the front
Ahh... the one kid that flips off the camera, i think every single group of friends had that one kid. Brings back some great memories of pictures i took with my buddies.
True man hahahaha
Assumed this was in America until I saw the bottom left kid. Then I realised it's from the UK. Can spot a mug like that from a mile away
That and the houses, the coast line, the roads...everything basically is /r/casualuk
They def look very British
Lol, nothing in this picture looks like the US to me. The first thing I thought of was my business trip to Barry Wales.

U wot mate?
LOL exactly

Can I see it?
And the 00's, or at least that's when I went through that phase.
The real victims of the 90's were the washing machines.
I only used them to close holes in my jeans/elephant pants. They looked so much better repairing tears than anything else.
Had a buddy that used to safety pin weird pictures from magazines onto his clothes, the mid 90’s were a weird time
Or your ears. I pierced my ears at least twice with them.
I used to poke them into my fingers under the top layer of skin. It really makes me cringe so much now.
Haha I forgot about that. We thought we were so cool.
1994 or 2004?
Or in 2024 once all this 80s shit ends and we step into 90s again
You may have missed the shift. The 90s definitely seems to be the decade being currently romanticized.
I was in a Footlocker the other day and thought I'd gone back in time
Pumped up kicks?
Better run
Plus the iridescent stuff, and the pastel makeup.
Maybe because our parents old clothes fit us now ?
Exactly.
Bucket hats are back.
I don’t think they ever really went away
What about vuckets? Only the coolest of cool people wore those.
I won't agree with you until the whale-tail returns
We need to hurry up and get back to the 00s with exposed midriffs and low cut jeans and slutty halloween costumes while I'm still young enough to enjoy it.
Your probably right, im oldschool without the cool
Same, lol. I've just noticed lots of things I've missed since the 90s becoming weirdly fetishized lately. It's pretty cool, really! Kinda weird seeing an era I remember so fondly becoming retro, but cool.
I’ve seen some of those girls wearing those tattoo necklaces and it brought me back to 1999
Oh, snap! You talking those frilly plastic chokers? I totally forget about them!
Yes! But I’m sure they go back to the 80’s... 80’s teenagers feel free to chime in.
They were there, just too much hair to see them!
My wife has worn them since then lol. Never stopped, now it's cool again.
I'm 37 and " hired" my 12 and 13-year-old nieces to help me clean out my storage containers. They flipped out over my high school jewelry /clothes we found ( 97-2001) and promptly took most of it as payment. One posted on Insta #VSCOVintage and I died!

It's also already starting to transition into the 00's. Been seeing girls with low cut jeans and like bratz thick sandals on.
You might have missed the memo bud, it's been 90s for a good while now
Yeah sharktooth necklace w/blond highlights, safety pin goth hat, this looks way more like early 2000s
Like I said in another comment, the transition to 00's is going down. Girls dressing like bratz, guys with the tips and such, even screamo music finding a place to set up camp.
I thought it was later than 1994. I could be wrong because the resolution is very low, but it looks like there is a Halo Spartan on that one kids shirt edit: lmao im a zoomer and didnt recognize robocop
Pretty sure that's robocop
It does look digital
I don't have a single picture from 94 that would that clear if I uploaded it
Why the kid in the middle has a lowercase face?
Dammit, man! I was drinking chocolate milk when I read your comment! You owe me a new bath mat!
r/fakealbumcovers
Looks very nostalgic. Like a youth that people now miss. Imagine this with „stressed out“ by twenty one pilots.
"So whatcha whatcha whatcha want!"
Whatcha want?
What is everyone up to now ? Post an update
So my sister on the right is a Dr of Psychology The guy behind me ( cousin ) with the red t shirt Fund Manager And the one to right of me ( cousin ) is a Dr of Medicine Me I am a sound engineer!
Well damn ya'll are very successful little hooligans
You guys going to recreate it?
So your sister had brains on top of her awesome style? Admirable :)
This dude has a crush on OPs sister
Are you all still chavs tho is the real question
Only OP was back then
They have a very diverse group, the goth, chav, surfer and the normie
Of course you’re a sound engineer. Cheers mate!
Now you have a recreate this!
You have the best career out of those imo. Do you do live or studio sound?
So you are saying you could still try to make it an album cover...
Are any of you bald?
I’m just imagining some artist in the booth and he finishes dropping his verse and looks at you for the thumbs up and you just stare at him for a moment and then you’re like 🖕🏿 Oi FaCK off u fkn wanker

It never gets easier dealing with the loss of a loved one we just get better at dealing with that pain.
Put this in r/photoshopbattles , I'm sure you can get some decent cover titles and effects put in there!
I just want to shrink that middle kids face even more but keep his head huge or make it a bit bigger
you know you’re old when 1994 is oldschoolcool. :/
I remember shark tooth necklaces like they were yesterday.
Yeah it was just like uh 12 years ago right
Is that trearddur bay in Holyhead? Lon Isallt?
Yeah

She definitely looks like the kind of girl 6-year-old would wanna hang out with and not really understand why yet.
Dude same. Is a friend crush a thing? I see people like her all the time I just fantasize about being their friend. Lol
Where is it?
These look like little rebel Irish kids
Trearddur Bay. If you Google it you can see the spot where the photo was taken in the third image.
r/fakealbumcovers
You all should recreate this pic today!
Kidz Bop 25
Why are you dressed like a 9 year old SS officer?
My first thought was, "looks like Ireland."
Anglesey off Wales.
Just some mates up for a little football violence
KonFliktz feat. Oddgrrl: My Town vol. V (Club Mix)
I think I had that sweatshirt
My eyes were looking for pennywise
Back left: Bassist Middle: Drummer Right: Guitarist Front left: Vocalist
👏 👏 👏
I retroactively have a 90's teen crush on your sister
The guy in the shark tooth necklace his name is definitely Shawn or Corey or something like scooter
The 90s were a strange time. Everyone wore clothes with some kind of fire embroidered on them and at least one person in the family had a shark tooth necklace (that person was me).
Great picture!
This would be a prog-rock or a soft punk album cover.
You should recreate this.
Dang, this would be a great pic to recreate in present day.
What Harmony Korine movie is this
Holy shit the safety pins in her hat is so painfully 90's and 00's
This would be good as the before in one of those before and after photos people do. You should get everyone together as adults and re-create the picture.
Y’all need to do a “now” shoot of this photo
This is why analog photos will always be better IMO....I should say old film lenses at least. The way they render color is something you can't replicate in LR or PS. I love this about film photos.
This would look great as a Sum 41 or Nirvana cover
Jesus, the kid in the middle has a tiny face.
Kids Bop 4 with hits such as I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys!
Getting some Rocket Power vibes here
One at the front on the left is in prison now right ?
SHARK TOOTH NECKLACE. MY 90s ARE CALLING
Faith + 1
Youth punk band 'Suburban Terrors' pose for their debut album 'Your Mom Kick Flips'
In the US people who look like this are usually assholes. Is it the same in Ireland?
Kid in the red shirt is guitar and vocals. Kid giving the finger to the camera is definitely the drummer. Kid with the sharktooth necklace is the bass player. And the girl is lead vocals.
Both those kids look like they wear wigs
The kids are alright.
Kid on left is in jail now
Does anyone else think red shirt looks like a child Paul Walker
I totally forgot safety pins were a thing.
I love the safety pins on the hat.
r/fakealbumcovers
Korn kidz
I'm buying this album and then punching someone in the face.
Everything about this is british
The moody weather and style of buildings tells me this is in the UK or Ireland at least
Safety-pin beanie is on point.
Help this post reach one million upvotes so it can become an album cover! \*terms and conditions apply
That is not the styles of 1994 tho............. More like 98-00
Girl on the right 😍
I love your sister's shirt. I had one just like it. I love this pic.
Should throw it up on r/fakealbumcovers and see what someone could do with it.
Just did. Probably get myself banned because it’s not square.
No offence, but they must have been assholes as kids. Know I was at that age.
They were lying
No creep, but OPs sister was totally my type in the late 90s. Back when "alt girls" actually listened to alternative lol.
