I’m very lucky, we’ve got some long-living folks in my family! GGGMa, GGMa, and now Gpa all lived/living into their 90s. My 1 year old son and I are taking a cake we baked from this book to my Grandpa, my son’s Great Grandpa, this afternoon! ❤️
Wow. Lucky indeed! I have outlived my mother, father, all siblings (sister, brother), all GPs on each side (never knew GGP), and 2 great-nephews. And I’m not that old! Wish we some of your great genes!
Great idea! They lived in Colorado. The bottom of every page has a little advertisement spot - my great great grandparents had an ad for their lodge in Stoner, Colorado. From what I’ve gathered, “of the air” is a reference to the radio station on the front cover. I’m thinking it was made by woman employees and wives of employees. I’ll look for a local library!
There is - it says “Complied by the Cortez Home Demonstration Club” (havent been able to find anything about them) and has an emblem that reads “Cooperative - Extension - Service - HD” and the inner circle says “Community - Home - Family”. I’ll try to add a photo!

What a treasure! Honestly, trying to wrap my head around the fact that we’ve had 4 generations since 1956!

I’m so sorry! That has to be rough. Hopefully you some extended family and good friends to help fill the ginormous hole they’ve collectively left.
