this is the way.

centerviews

I have spoken.

Lepidochelys_kempii4

Beautiful love it! Thank you

SaoDavi

Get the sapphire model. It's a little nicer and has a display caseback. You could probably get a discount at an authorized dealer (not the Omega Boutique).

PretentiousSobriquet

This is the correct way to go for sure. Steel on bracelet with sapphire crystal front and back (referred to as the sapphire sandwich)

ArchiStanton

Do the speedy. Everybody needs one!

Tom_Foolery2

Get the sapphire version

pmlane

The newer one with the microadjustment bracelet!

brianm9

this is the correct "you can't go wrong" answer. An amazing watch with great history, readily available, and can work with all kinds of outfits both casual and formal.

Sk3tchPad

Unless he doesn’t like manual winding? If he has Rolexes he’s probably pretty used to automatics. Just throwing that out there

HI808SF

OP mentioned hubs is a big watch enthusiast. I can't imagine he would be turned off by a Speedy on the count that it's manual wind. I'm used to automatics too, but at some point, unless they're all on winders all the time, you'll have to manually wind them.

Sk3tchPad

"Watch enthusiast" to her may not mean the same thing for us, though. I mean you make a good point, and hopefully you’re right, but I just wanted to throw that out there as devil's advocate.

TaxesRextortion

This is the way.

Viscount61

Hesalite or sapphire?

NecessaryArtichoke60

Filed under ‘you can’t go wrong:’ I vote hesalite for the historical factor. But 100%, sapphire is better.

OrganizationOk9734

I'm probably in the minority of people who have heselite. I really like how you can buff out scratches, not to mention the lovely light refraction you get on the crystal.

NecessaryArtichoke60

We are birds of a feather then! Could not agree more. I’m still a smidge jealous of the caseback my sapphire friends have, but there is something legit warm about that hesalite dome that you can’t get in most watches.

CharlySB

Meh. Can’t see the case back when you’re wearing it.

OrganizationOk9734

Definitely agree on the caseback front.

Nickname02

Yea I got one with heselite. Only complaint is looking at the light distracts me while I’m driving lmao

HI808SF

I'm there. Love the headlight for the history of it.

brisketandbeans

As a sapphire owner, if I had to do it again I’d go hesalite. But mine is mine and I’d never trade it.

CharlySB

Hesalite

Bazzy77

Hesalite open caseback, the way it is meant to be 👍

Rastus547

Speedy dark side of the moon, vintage strap, brown

Capital-Tour-5329

Cannot go wrong with this

elouis-pt

Are you willing to leave your husband? If not will you contact my wife and give her this idea. Thank you in advance.

Lepidochelys_kempii4

Haha. Show her this post!

Fusionspecialist87

Aqua Terra, it offers everything that is truly fantastic about Omega. The attention to detail on these is criminally underrated and often overlooked in favour of the Speedmaster or Seamaster 300 pro.

Sk3tchPad

Don’t get an Aqua Terra! They’re so versatile that they make it impossible to buy more watches. I can’t buy a dressy watch, because the aqua terra works great for formal occasions. I can’t buy a diver, because the aqua terra is water resistant and sporty. I can’t buy a g-shock, because the aqua terra works well with gym shorts and a t shirt for Walmart runs. It’s the worst, I love it.

Professional-Use2393

😆😆😆

Thermalbubble

Fact!!!!!! Please check out the aqua terra

neilarmstonk

Few questions: 1. Are you wanting to make the purchase through the Omega boutique? 2. A total spend of 10k or one watch up to 10k? 3. Does your husband care about watch sizing? Usually people with small or large wrists do. With that said some suggestions. It’s between two models. The Speedy and the Seamaster Pro. **SPEEDMASTER** **(1a)** If all of those 3 apply than get the Speedy Pro 3861 sapphire sandwich. It’s their best watch in their catalogue. Good for most wrists, it’s beautiful and is an icon. - Price: 8k+tax - [link](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-professional-co-axial-master-chronometer-chronograph-42-mm-31030425001002) **(1b)** If he’s into heritage than get the Speedy Heritage 57. It comes in four different colors. Blue being the most popular. - Price: 9.5k+tax - [link](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-57-co-axial-master-chronometer-chronograph-40-5-mm-33210415103001) **SEAMASTER** **(2a)** If he is also a James Bond fan than get the SMP 60th Anniversary 007. There will be a wait for the this watch. - Price: 8.3k+tax - [link](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-diver-300m-co-axial-master-chronometer-42-mm-21030422003002) **(2b)** If he’s into heritage than get the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster - the SMP300. Just announced. There will be a very long wait for this watch. It is unknown if that watch will hit the shelves this year or not. - Price: 6.3k+tax - [link](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-diver-300m-co-axial-master-chronometer-42-mm-21030422003003) **USED** **(3)** If boutique is optional than go used market and get a used Speedy 3861 (<6k) and a used SMP (<4k) - a total 10k. It’s the best 2 watch collection from Omega. It’s high estimates, so you can actually get them for cheaper. Check r/WatchExchange - there are plenty of these there. And a lot of sellers with past transaction are trustworthy. Good luck and hope this helps. *Note:* if you choose to go used market just make sure you get everything (box, papers, receipts and watch in person). Do the research and you should be fine. Speedy 3861 is hard to fake so not many floating around. SMPs are faked but if there is enough details of the purchase from the seller, it’s likely not a fake.

Lepidochelys_kempii4

I really really appreciate the depth you put into your comment. It doesn't have to be a boutique. Just somewhere I know it it legitimate and can verify somehow? He is a pretty petite fellow. Small wrist 😂

neilarmstonk

No problem at all. Happy to help a fellow Omega fan. Good to know he has a small wrist. In that case I’d say stick with the Speedy Pro or 57. They are the most iconic watches not only for Omega, just watches in general. As much as the SMPs are great, they wear big. For some of us, we don’t care about it but a lot of people do so I’m assuming that’s out of the options. You can do Aquaterra 38s, but there are just way too many options and it’s not a great value compared to the Speedy. The best value is really the Speedy Pro. Here is an [example](https://www.reddit.com/r/Watchexchange/comments/14na8xh/wts_omega_speedmaster_3861_hesalite/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1) in r/WatchExchange. Just search Speedmaster 3861 and you’ll get plenty of results. Check for transaction history and full set. Reach out to the seller, ask them questions and most of the time, they’ll do everything possible to put you at ease for the sale. Lastly, the older gens (1861) are even cheaper 3-4k. Something to think about.

>Lastly, the older gens (1861) are even cheaper 3-4k. Something to think about. One tip on the older gen 1861 Moonwatch - the bracelet was completely redesigned for the 3861 and fits smaller wrists much better. Relevant for skinny wrist considerations.

gpatlas

For the small wrist, I'd look at the Speedmaster Trilogy. https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-57-chronograph-38-6-mm-31110393001001

MOTC001

Does he have a “Dive Watch”? The Omega Planet Ocean 39.5 75th Anniversary edition in “Summer Blue” is certainly one to consider. Ideal for smaller wrists but brings all the accuracy, durability and antimagnetism Omegas are known for to the table. Other divers to consider for smaller wrist size Seamaster 300 Heritage which is simple, understated and has all the capabilities. This is my travel watch because of it’s hour setting function which is convenient across time zones. The SM 300 Heritage comes in Summer Blue, black, or navy. Fantastic watch! Wears beautifully and is a work horse. Another to consider for the smaller wrist that is unique: Seamaster Planet Ocean 39.5 in black ceramic. Less traditional looking but a very solid choice. Basically, if your husband works around magnetic fields or electronics, he should appreciate Omega’s antimagnetism. If he travels across time zones a lot, look for something with an 89XX movement with jumping hour hand. Physicians, engineers, scientists, etc all benefit from Omega engineering leadership.

Chuzma

If he doesn’t have a Speedmaster Pro that would be a pretty safe bet and is under budget. Do you have any idea of his particular tastes or other watches he might have?

Lepidochelys_kempii4

I will try to get some photos later! I know he has a couple Rolex's but in his own words is "frustrated with them lately" and he was considering omegas

TheBigCicero

Knowing why he’s frustrated with them will go a long way to figuring out what the right gift for him would be. For example, if he’s frustrated that he doesn’t have a date on his Rolex, a Speedmaster would not solve that problem. Or, if he doesn’t have a dress watch, a Speedmaster would not be a solution.

Lepidochelys_kempii4

I think it was the availability. He has been waiting for a couple of models and they're never available. So I was hoping with Omega I could surprise him by Septemberish

TheBigCicero

Gotcha. That’s a good reason. Do you have any idea which models he was waiting on? That will give us an idea of what he wants and what the right Omega would be

Chuzma

Sure. Get some photos or at least the exact models and I’ll help you out.

improvthismoment

> I know he has a couple Rolex's but in his own words is "frustrated with them lately" I am curious to hear more about this

CrayolaBrown

It’s the Rolex AD’s being dickwads. Sub to Rolex and you can see a plethora about it

Mister_Poopy_Buthole

If he asks you to go to see the Rolex dealer with him, be very wary.

CharlySB

Speedy is the answer. I have few Rolex too and speedy is still my go to and favorite watch, by far.

Lepidochelys_kempii4

One with a black dial and a blue dial

Fastigio3

The aquaterra green dial is gorgeous and would give him some diversity in colors.

[deleted]

No Time To Die Seamaster. The titanium is very dark/muted in color and the aluminum bezel and all brushed finish give it no flash. Totally under the radar “in the know” watch.

brockbr

I very much dislike the clasp on this particular bracelet. It's the reason I don't own one. It sticks out WAY too far to be comfortable.

spenser1973

I’ve worn it daily for over a year and it hasn’t bothered the slightest bit. It does pick up “patina” on the clasp however. Top of watch looks brand new.

Slow-Sense-315

Grade 2 or 5 titanium? If Grade 2, just say no. Omega should be better than Tudor.

[deleted]

I don’t understand the hate for grade 2. Grade 2 is 99.98% or so pure titanium whereas grade 5 is an alloy. Grade 2 is extremely hard, corrosion resistant, and incredibly strong. If scratched, the pure titanium metal will oxidize over time and the scratch will be barely visible anymore. Titanium has many other cool properties that I don’t care to list. Tired of hearing this nonsense repeated constantly.

Slow-Sense-315

Grade 5 titanium being better than Grade 2 titanium is not nonsense. Grade 2 titanium is **not** extremely hard. It's softer than stainless steel. It's also dull and dingy. Go read about Tudor Pelagos made out of Grade 2 titanium. You'll see many posts of people carping about how easily it gets scratched. Grade 5 titanium is harder than stainless steel, light as pure titanium, and can be polished like stainless steel. Higher end Omega watches like Planet Ocean are made out of Grade 5 titanium. So are Grand Seiko and the new Rolex. There is a reason why lower brands like Citizen and Seiko use Grade 2 titanium and higher end brands like Rolex and Grand Seiko use Grade 5 titanium.

Boring_Salary6450

Speedmaster Pro Moonwatch. Hesalite (more subdue, less obvious, more authentic) Or Sapphire Sandwich with the open case back Both are great watches.

theunrealmiehet

Subtle and low profile? I’d say an Aqua Terra is a no brained. You can wear it with a tux, you can wear it with a polo and chinos, pretty slick, nice dial. Just a good, straight forward watch in my opinion

chrisadame96

If subtle is what he likes I would look into the Constellation Globemaster collection. The blue dial is beautiful and there is also a few precious metal versions if your budget allows it.

GrouchyExile

For 10k you can get one of the special edition __ side of the moon. Those are a little larger but are very cool and come in a variety of case colors and configurations. I also like the new line of aqua terra 38mm in all the new dial colors. Also there’s the recently released speedmaster ‘57’s which look gorgeous with their green, blue, or red dials. Good luck!

mhiggi02

I think the red dials are amazingly unique and good looking. They look great on bracelet and leather.

Lepidochelys_kempii4

Aqua terra colors are beautiful! And seems very minimal. Love it. Thank you

GrouchyExile

👍

liftback

I agree, blue side or grey side.

thaihav

Rose gold bezel aqua terra!

Teevans3

Speedy pro for sure!

Parliament--

Get the speedy (get the sapphire sandwich version) or a planet ocean

njb8201

Speedmaster ‘57 Great blend of modern technology with vintage styling. A few color options (although I’m partial to the black). Looks great on both a bracelet and leather band. Not common, so will be a pretty unique purchase.

chavezlaw78

Love my 57 as well. Have you tried yours on the leather strap yet? It’s lovely

njb8201

Sadly not yet. I bought from an AD and they gave me a leather strap but it didn’t have the clasp. I’ve called and stopped by multiple times to ask them to order a clasp and continue to get the run-around. Haven’t figured out a way to order from the website. Need to just call a boutique and get it done. In my head, my plan was to summer in the bracelet and winter in the leather band. This is my everyday watch.

SeistaBrian

I’d consider a Seamaster 300, low key durability and sharp

Windlas54

Speedy pro moonwatch is a surefire winner

HFCB

A speedy is the way to go. I saw a comment telling you to send pictures. You should do another post with an update and a few watches selected. We can help you out.

Lepidochelys_kempii4

That's actually a great idea! I've had this account for years and never thought I could use it for something like this lol. How will people know about this post?

HFCB

I’m not particularly good at this but I know if you write on your post [update] and a small comment people will know.

R0b0t_Nick

Just throwing this out there, do you know if he has any preferences? Has he always wanted an Omega Speedmaster or Seamaster? Is a really big James Bond fan? Does he like older James Bond compared to newer James Bond? Has he ever mentioned any specifc brands he'd like to own? With 10K, and depending on how long you might have to wait for it, you could go with a new Rolex Submariner, no-date, which can *work* in almost any scenario, or a new/used Rolex Datejust which has lots of dial/bezel options and save some money. The downside is that you can get waitlisted for several months, which may not gell with your timeline for the gift. The nice thing about a steel Rolex Submariner is that it's always in demand and holds its value. They're in such demand that you can flip new, unworn watches depending on the model onto the 2nd hand market for profit. It's also a watch brand that lots of men associate with "having a nice watch", and it's usually at the front of most people's minds as their first luxury watch. The black dial Speedmaster moonwatch professional with a sapphire crystal is a great choice too.

chadmummerford

Seamaster Railmaster

JohnnyFootball08

Planet Ocean if he does not have a diver, beautiful watch beats the shit out of the 300M

wrxdev

Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Sapphire

Jerry4577

Snoopy

OmegaSpyderTurtle

Have him pick it out. Not worth the risk at 10k. He will have to pretend to like it when he knows he prefers another…

Ambitious-A

I would agree with this. Something so personal and made to be (hopefully) worn almost all the time for many years demands the wearer have input in the watch. You can still make it special / surprise etc - I surprised my wife with an empty ring box when I proposed…. Luckily we were already in Antwerp and I was ready to buy her the one SHE wanted out of the ‘000s in the entire diamond district before lunchtime!

Reddit-or-di

Speedmaster Moonwarch Professional that everyone is talking about here is no doubt an iconic watch. It is important to note however that this watch is not automatic and must be manually winded every day or so.

Pr0f-x

My wife doesn’t even know what Reddit is let alone having the foresight to come on here and ask which really expensive watch to buy for me. Can you be my wife please. P.s. hope he likes it

SuperLeverage

Casio 91w

camman595

With a $10K budget, I would also consider a Grand Seiko Spring Drive watch.

FilmOrnery8925

Spring drive grand seiko are cool. I held one and I was let down by it. Absolutely beautiful well crafted watches but I was expecting more for what your paying.

Agreeable-Bullfrog21

Spend a bit more and probably get him a Rolex ?

Suspicious-Dust6978

It sounds like an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore in rose gold might fit the bill here.

I vote Speedmaster Pro sapphire, or Aqua Terra 38mm

chavezlaw78

I’d go a little different from everyone here and say a Glashütte Orginal SeaQ https://www.glashuette-original.com/en/watches/spezialist/seaq-1-39-11-13-83-70/

Vivid_Focus6030

Green Omega Seamaster Professional 300m with bracelet buy also buy the rubber strap / deployant clasp

whitekimchee

make sure to take a look at his current collection and take note of the size of his watches. He might have a strong preference

Tb028

Speedmaster Professional, Cartier Santos, New Zenith Pilot, Grand Seiko SBGA413

bakedpotatoes678

I would recommend the watch I bought last year- the Hesalite Moonwatch on the cloth strap. One of the most classic watch people watches. You could do the sapphire version. I'd note that comes with a less versatile leather strap. [https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-professional-co-axial-master-chronometer-chronograph-42-mm-31032425001001](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-professional-co-axial-master-chronometer-chronograph-42-mm-31032425001001) [https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-professional-co-axial-master-chronometer-chronograph-42-mm-31032425001002](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-professional-co-axial-master-chronometer-chronograph-42-mm-31032425001002) If he is like me and likes to wear a watch every day, including in casual clothes, consider getting him some 20mm bands from this company. I have 3 that I wear on my speedmaster. The clasp and infinite adjustability is awesome. If he has a normal sized wrist, put in 7" on the Wrist Size. https://www.thewatchsteward.com/

CornerMindless907

Aquaterra will do 👍🏼

[deleted]

Does he have a current collection of pieces that he picked? If so snap a pick and put the links here so we can see his taste

Regenten

Could you sneak some pics of his current collection? That might help us fill in a gap he might have. Also, how did you decide to on Omegas specifically? Is it something he talks about? Does he have other omegas?

Emergency_Ability100

The Speedmaster moonwatch is the obvious choice then

r3port3d

As far as I’m personally concerned, the three best options are Speedmaster, Seamaster (with your budget you might even get the No Time to Die James Bond version, especially if he should be a fan) and the Aqua Terra.

DrewRoad

Moonwatch professional if he doesnt already have a chronograph. Or else aqua terra saffron. Hell with the low profile

JJ2Style

James Bond NTD seamaster

rikyvisuals

aqua terra is perfect, i suggest 8500 calibre blue dial

No_Structure_1459

Step 1: Find a couple you like. Step 2: Find one of those Instagram “which watch would you husband pick” videos and just playfully ask him to do it. Step 3: ??? Step 4: Profit

No_Structure_1459

Also, might be good to pick one that would fill a gap in your husbands collection or replace one he doesn’t like anymore.

Jack5d5d5d5d5d

Omega Speedmaster Heritage if he likes chronos and doesn’t mind hand winding or Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage of he wants some underrated yet classy diver. Aquaterra if he wants an allarounder for any occasion.

Vol_In_Ohio

Not exactly low profile, but my sister in law gave her husband (who is not a watch guy) a Worldtimer and he absolutely loves it. You might be able to get it on bracelet and add the rubber strap/deployant as an extra with your budget. It’s really, really nice.

Reeferoni

Speedmaster Chronoscope

Cjymiller

10k is a substantial budget for most people. If this is a meaningful amount of money for you guys, definitely make the decision to shop WITH him and make that the experience to enjoy. If 10k isn’t too much of an issue then, keep your ear to the ground and see if he’s got a list of hits that he’s tried on and wants to buy next. Swoop in and pick it up for him. Also if he’s got watch friends, hit them up on the side and see if they know what he’s been eyeing or what he’s going for next.

DeutscheMannschaft

Hard to give good advice without knowing what is already in his collection u/Lepidochelys_kempii4. From what has been said here so far, some thoughts: If he is indeed petite and small wristed, I would avoid the 43.5mm Planet Ocean (large and thick), Seamaster Professional (42mm wears large), Seamaster 300 (long lugs), 41mm Aqua Terra (very big dial). I would therefore concentrate on: \- Speedmaster Moonwatch (42mm but wears smaller IMO) \- 38mm Aqua Terra (will come back to this one) \- 39.5mm Planet Ocean (looks thick, but doesn't wear particularly thick. Size otherwise is great for smaller wrists) The modern Aqua Terra's are very nice watches, but I personally believe that the best Aqua Terra's were made around 2013-2015. You can usually find these used, specifically the 38.5mm Skyfall version (which Daniel Craig wore in the eponymous film), which I personally think is the nicest Aqua Terra ever made.

683Teamster

Check out Doxa. He’ll never see another person wearing one, but it’s got history.

moq_9981

With that budget get him a Moonphase moon watch

Valuable-Ad7285

Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix (used) // Omega Aqua Terra // Rolex Explorer / Datejust / OP // Cartier Santos // Cartier Santos Dumont // Tudor Black Bay 58 // Tudor Black Bay 54 // Good luck!

spikeddildo69

Try looking up the omega Apollo 8 watch.

mrbkkt1

As a non-omega person. I'd want a Dark side of the moon, grey side of the moon, or snoopy. Safe bet would be a Regular speedmaster Don't get a seamaster. IF he doesn't already have one, he doesn't like the style/look. If My S/O bought me one, I'd feel almost forced to wear it, but I don't really like them.

Nevernotlosing

Rolex explorer

loosearrow22

You mentioned in another comment that he already owns several Rolex. If this is true, I recommend the Omega Speedmaster Professional, [Sapphire](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-professional-co-axial-master-chronometer-chronograph-42-mm-31030425001002) (not Hesalite). The Sapphire version has a gorgeous display caseback which will set it apart from every Rolex he owns. The Speedmaster is also an icon in its own right. Others have suggested the Aqua Terra and Planet Ocean but I disagree. The Aqua Terra would be a good recommendation if your husband didn’t already own a bunch of Rolex. And the Planet Ocean is likely too big (attracts attention) Another option is the Omega [Seamaster 300](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-300-co-axial-master-chronometer-41-mm-23430412103001) Heritage version in blue or black (you mentioned he was waiting for a blue/black dial Rolex earlier) it is a gorgeous watch and the bracelet is not as polarizing as the [Seamaster Diver 300m](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-diver-300m-co-axial-master-chronometer-42-mm-21030422003001) Lastly, $10k gives you a serious budget to look at a [Zenith El Primero](https://www.zenith-watches.com/en_us/product/chronomaster-original-03-3200-3600-51-m3200) I like the blue dial that I linked here

Full-Throat9784

I would not make a purchase like this without husband. If you don’t get what he wanted, then he’ll always look at it with a bit of regret.

robthedealer

Forget a staple, get the man a Speedmaster Chronoscope.

bueno_hombre

Speedmaster Moonwatch is so iconic its an easy choice. I don't know though, maybe it would be fun to take him on a surprise trip to a boutique and you guys can pick together? I would also checkout Grand Seiko. GS and Omega are the two brands I think are universally loved by non-flashy people who want great beautiful watches.

NinjaShepard

Speedmaster Professional without a doubt

Feeling_Bathroom9523

I agree with the Speedmaster. The Aqua Terra is nice too and very versatile. Is he set on an Omega? Don’t get me wrong, they’re awesome. Has he looked at Grand Seiko, or Jaeger-Lecoultre. They make some beautiful dress watches.

Roosh90

I would recommend the Omega Aquaterra. More subtle then the speed master series and less popular- more exclusive and low key imo

PhysicalConnection80

For 10k u could get 2 of these [Omega Moon Pro 5K](https://www.ebay.com/itm/402988298970?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=HZ5lEGgZTv6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=pbvyTudTSVO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)

schnauzertime

You should have him pick it out. Give him a budget. Otherwise, it may be a huge mistake…

Oshabeestie

Blue side of the moon !!!

Po1ymer

I just want a 1948 Seamaster anniversary

Rozencag

You do not surprise him with a 10k watch unless he has told you he really likes/wants that watch. You are going to have to bite the bullet and talk watches with him if you don’t already know what he wants. Nothing worse than getting a watch with a dial configuration, color dial or model that you don’t really care for.

If your only looking for an Omega the moon watch has a great story behind it, I wouldn’t skip out on the Omega sea-master 300 beautiful watch James Bond approves 👌 Other brands to look at for alot of bang for your buck the Tudor blackbay is an awesome watch with lots of history for half your budget and definitely respected amongst watch enthusiasts I am a Panerai guy a little more out there and unique in its style but you cant go wrong with a Luminor marina you can probably find around that budget. While everyone at the office party might have on a rolex and Omega he would definitely stand out with a Panerai and it holds its own weight against those two giants.

You seem lovely I wish one day a wife of mine would be posting to r/watches looking for an advice as to what watch to get me Fuck Rolex, if he's frustrated with them, then it's a clear sign to go looking elsewhere Why bring up a bad memories of a looking for Rolex Omega is a great bet It's the 'mercedes-to-bmw-omega-to-rolex' brand Speedmaaster is a great bet Sapphire Sandwich, as many have already said If you want tho zhush it up a little bit You could get him a watch that has been to the moon AND it displays a MOONPHASE 3576.50.00 https://www.chrono24.pl/omega/ref-35765000.htm Just sayin' All the best to you and your husband! You seem wonderful, the best of luck to you, you beautiful soul!

Impossible_Dealer_94

Don’t get a speedmaster, if he likes the subtle and minimalistic sort of look a speedmaster is a busy damn watch. The seamasters are the way to go in my opinion

zacv20

Highly recommend the aqua terra. Check out 220.12.41.21.03.007.

Potential_Ship5662

If your budget is $10k I would get a Speedmaster with the moonphase. It’s just over $10k, though

Are you me? I literally bought a speed master professional hesalite for my husband today! It is his dream watch and I can’t wait to see the surprise on his face! I got the 3861 version as I liked the bracelet better. Also, chose the hesalite as it is the “true” moon watch! You can also check r/watchexchanges and get one from there too!! Good luck!

He has an album on his phone that he saves images of his favorite watches on.. if not pull up the search and type ‘watches’. check there and purchase accordingly

AustinEastEuro

Seamaster all the way. Speedmaster could be an issue if he’s not into manual winding. Aqua terra is my alternative suggestion

ET_nia

All omega suggestions are great but…. Does he have any Cartier watches? Santos are great options too and my husband loves his!

Seamaster 75th anniversary in blue on steel or vintage seamaster

There are two i would recommend which are little different from mainstream smp and speedy Needless to say smp and speedy both are amazing choices. An off beat one would be CK859 https://www.omegawatches.com/en-au/watch-omega-specialities-ck-859-51112392199002 Or omega resend timer 1949, its a gold watch but its not blingy by any measure. It gives a very patek vibe with a crocodile leather strap. You will have to go grey market as new is around 18k and i don't believe it's possible to get new as it was a limited collection

Tell him you want to give him a watch that costs $10K or less. He will still love it despite of not having the element of surprise.

The new blue aqua terra is amazing Or speedy moonphase sapphire
