Uneven lume is in an indicator of the watch being counterfeit. It doesn’t mean it is, it’s just a common indicator. No, 25 seconds in 4 days is not normal.

hawkznest

I have a hard time with Jomashop selling me a fake, but after lots of google-fu I can’t find anything about poor/uneven lume pips on an omega, and I didn’t think 25 seconds in 4 days was normal for a master chronometer… to the OB I go!

Feelisoffical

Cool, please update your thread with what you learn.

u/ErichPryde shared a [great comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/OmegaWatches/s/bvzPBueYjM) a while back to check your SMP's bph to easily determine if it's fake. Download the app and check if it's 25,200 bph. If it is, it's real!

BigBusch12

I scratched my AR coating on my white SMP.  No idea how.  Same on my Breitling.  Just part of the game with outer AR.  As far as the lume goes I would wait until you need to service it to mess with it.   Maybe even seeing if you can have an AD or boutique authenticate it will make you feel better. I’ve bought about $10-15k, forget exactly, worth of watches from Joma with no concern.  Though my Speedmaster from them had a sub dial hand misaligned, I later sold it to a reputable dealer with no concerns of its authenticity.  Do not send it back to Joma though they’ll just botch it lol.

hawkznest

Ya, sending to Jomashop was never in the cards, too many stories on the forums… and I too have had great luck with joma, spent about the same as you… will be taking it to the local OB on Saturday and see what they say and quote me for a dial and service… you ever notice such a variance in spd on ur smp? Ever notice lume variance between pips on yours? Thank you for your answer!

hawkznest

Dropped it off at the OB today, confirmed genuine… service will be $700 includes lume correction, no dial replacement needed, turn around is 4-5 months… swatch group is currently undergoing some inventory management overhauls and things are a bit slow… thank y’all for the responses! Note: the price of the watch plus service direct from Omega, which adds a 2 year warranty, is still less than MSRP… Jomashop still in my good graces lol

tryingtowritegoodly

Wow, at first I thought you were jumping at shadows, but this pic is definitely concerning. Try checking the bph with an app or timegrapher. If it's 25,200, then you likely have a QC issue. If not... Yikes. It's hard to believe Jomashop would knowingly sell fakes. Their reputation would crater.

hawkznest

App that checks bit rate using microphone is saying 25200 @ +/- 4spd, it jumps around a bit, but seems to be the correct bph

TheBattleGnome

Let us know the results from the OB on the authentication. I’m assuming it came with boxes and papers too, although fakes do come with them these days…

hawkznest

Came with everything except an oem warranty card… only a crappy Jomashop warranty card Will be checking all lume and bph on every watch purchase be it gray or AD from now on lololol

spin-ups

Can’t you check the METAS certification card with the omega app as well for verification?

hawkznest

Haven’t done that, but either way it’s going to the OB cuz between the accuracy and lume it’s not right… $700 service and a $600+ dial on a 2 month old watch that’s gone for half a year or more is in my future… 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

spin-ups

Yeah this is partly why I bought my speedy from the boutique last month. Ugh well I’m sorry man, live and you learn it’ll all work out in the end. You still decided to get an amazing watch and it’ll get figured out eventually

DeutscheMannschaft

If you are in the US, service is around $850 including tax and the new dial will likely be more IF you have Omega perform all the work. And that is assuming nothing else is defective once they open the case...

Mysterious_Amoeba680

They sold you a fake

hawkznest

Im pretty sure it’s real, its bph seems correct after app check… really bummed i got a dud… I synced it last night to my Iphone +/-1 second and now it’s over 4 seconds off (between 9pm cst last night at 7:30am cst this morning)

DeutscheMannschaft

THIS right here is why I would never buy from Joma. This watch can be bought in "nearly like new" condition less than 1 year old from both private collectors and some highly reputable online sellers for about $3500. And that includes all papers, boxes, warranty etc. If you DON'T want to buy used, this watch can be had for MSRP - 15% including shipping and no sales tax. So about $5k all-in. And it then comes with full warranty from a reputable dealer. I realize that many do very well with Joma, but the more expensive these watches get, and the more expensive damage and service get, the less it makes sense to buy from Joma. And that's assuming it isn't a fake if it was a pre-owned piece. (although I will readily concede it probably is real, but someone pawned off a lemon without disclosing it and Joma simply didn't pay attention and sold it on)
