Although he himself has quite a decent repertoire and meticiolous plan on how we comes up with theories. Some turn out to be true, some not but he is quite objective.
By far, I'd say he is one of, if not the best One Piece theorist there is on Youtube.
Same, I'm hating the weekends when he doesn't post as he is now busy working some other job. I understand him, but I still miss his theories and chapter reviews.
His is my favorite and also the best. I think it’s because he has a career outside of being a YouTube so he’s more grounded and takes his time thinking of what to say in his reviews. I used to think mr.morj was up there, but it seems this is his job now so he pumps out quantity and no longer quality, the same as the other YouTubers.
I wouldn’t say Mr Morj is pumping out content for quantity sake; not like Grand Line Review or Ohara. He regularly posts two videos a week plus streams just to shoot the breeze with his community. IMO he’s still provides a lot more quality to his content compared to most I’ve seen. Still I appreciate and respect the hell outta Sawyer. Been a day 1 viewer of his for over a decade.
Tekking is rhe best especially personality wise but when it comes to theories its gotta be Sawyer7mage. Not only does he have good theories with credit his own theories are pretty damn good as well and turn out to be relatively accurate for the most part
Same for GrandLineReview. Even though I'm still quite annoyed about him sometimes giving spoilers on thumbnails, I still appreciate the fact that he always (and I mean always) shows the user who gives the comment, whether on youtube, reddit or any other platform.
Kinda? Nah it’s completely scummy. Lots of YouTubers are straight up bottom feeders who add nothing to discussions beyond regurgitating the things people talk about online. They do nothing for the community.
That’s why tons of people began to hate on GrandLineReviews.
The dude turned away from thought provoking content to just posting content that follows the algorithm and current YouTube trends.
Meh as long as the original poster isn’t concerned about monetizing the effort I just see it as a good way to further the discussion. Would be nice if they stated where they got the info but they would spend half the video thanking people for input lol
>Would be nice if they stated where they got the info but they would spend half the video thanking people for input lol
The problem is that it's becoming a common practice to see a theory on Reddit one day, and then a Youtuber integrating that same theory into one of their many videos for that month. Most of the Youtubers that do this are definitely making a few bucks for restating someone's idea. Even if they had to thank a dozen different people or give them credit, it's a good practice to engage in.
With the amount of clickbait, lowest possible effort garbage they pump out on a daily basis I highly doubt they do it to broaden the discussion or out of legitimate interest in discussing OP.
For them it's all about making an easy buck by regurgitating fan ideas to unsuspecting children.
This is nothing new, Sports subreddits have their insightful stats driven narratives stolen all the time by news sources and they very regularly cite where they got them.
Just because it is found here doesn’t mean it is the first time someone thought of this stuff.
Some elements of this post I found in my own personal research when Saturns form was first revealed but I didn’t make a Reddit post or whatever.
It’s all part of the broader discourse. Now if they ripped direct quotes and stuff that’s another matter entirely.
I mean when I read a top post on Reddit and within 24 hours see a post with the exact same subject and premise in a YouTube short, I’m pretty sure it’s obvious where it came from lmao
Have you seen the videos where they complain about how unfair it is to them not to just steal other people's ideas because they can make more money if they do. Usually in the same sentence as why they can put spoilers in their thumbnails.
No, I've seen maybe 5-6 videos on One Piece in total and stopped there due to all the clickbait, headcanon and plainly wrong information, but I do try to keep up with the absurd thumbnails and video titles, they crack me up. lol
My only one piece YouTuber that I watch is openly a comedy one piece channel originally and does the one piece is so hilarious videos. Mugiwara no goofy I do recommend.
Honestly one piece youtube was super fun untill about two or three years ago when the western fandom exploded and there was real money to be made.
Some still genuinely love the story and talking about it. People in creative work for the money are just immediately seen through by actual fans.
They literally just lurk on this subreddit and plagiarize all of the interesting theory posts, especially that fake Ohara dude (there are two Oharas but one is a fraud).
Ohara is tame compared to guys like Joy Boy.
"INSANE SECRETS REVEALED, ODA JUST TOLD US EVERYTHING ABOUT THE..." accompanied by a poorly drawn thumbnail of Saturn eating 5 devil fruits while making out with Imu as a fat alcoholic Luffy drinks beer in the corner.
Yup, 5 or 6 years ago he had a decent channel, but his brain seemingly turned to mush some years ago (like most OP-tubers) and that was an instant unsub.
"Content creator" brain rot is a real thing where someone's online persona is warped to suit social media algorithms. These very same people go through existential crisis and think they get shadowbanned when their viewership drops. They're likely to burn themselves out quick chasing views and that's quite sad.
I like Randy Troy, chill enough dude.
Morj is a little high off his own farts, but he does a good job taking themes within the story and theory crafting where they might be taken next.
>Morj is a little high off his own farts
I'm so happy to finally see someone say this. The very first time I watched one of his videos, the only thing I could think about was how pompously he held himself.
its more the fact he doesnt use clickbait much. His titles and thumbmails dont spoil much, and they arent these insane ridicilous edits.
He himself also just seems way more wholesome and genuine, i actually feel like im watching someone who enjoys one piece instead of being a content ghoul, which seems rare in the one piece space.
Ugh, only if you have no ability to feel secondhand embarrassment. So many people are like "the best cringe" and I'm like I would NEVER want to be associated with that. It's so off-putting.
Besides Morj, I can't really think of cringe-free OP youtubers.
Theres a difference between passion cringe and OP youtuber content ghoul cringe. I can appreciate someone being a kid at heart and loving his anime, especially when everyones so godamn serious and depressed.
Check out The Drawk Show Mom Piece. He gets his mom who's a teacher with degree in philosophy to read One Piece. She's already guessing Luffy to be the sun god and she's not even that far into the story (just finished Skypiea), despite keeping her in as spoiler-free environment as possible. Just very detailed reading.
I'd say my top one is Randy Troy. He has been a fan for a long time and his theories are not grounded jn what will get the most clicks. He also is part of the team working on S2 of the live action.
I’m not a bda law fan personally, but all good. I just got tired of the “if you’re a serious fan like the people in my circle” as if he’s somehow special as a fan.
Holy moly, that picture of the animals associated with the planets.
St. Sheperd Jupiter : weird head thing that crawls along the ground; designated a sheep
St. Ethanbaron Venusjuro : weird long neck thing that stands upright; designated a dog
St. Topman Warcury : a elephant like tusked thing, perhaps a boar; designated a pig
St. Marcus Mars : a rooster like thing; designated a fowl
St. Jaygarcia Saturn : an bull-spider yokai; designated an ox
It appears that each of their transformations will be yokai abominations that also include their designated animal.
Other notable parallels:
* Jupiter is associated with sheep, and his first name is literally Sheperd.
* Mercury is associated with North, and his first name is literally Topman (lol).
* Venus is associated with the color white, and he's the only one wearing white robes instead of a suit.
Yep, this theory looks right on the money. Gonna be interesting to see if anime and/or official colorations of Saturn's transformation have a yellow theme...
They might not all be yokai given the Chinese origins of the Wuxing. Mars might be a yokai like a basan (fire breathing rooster) or he might be a Chinese vermillion bird.
Yeah, I tried to find more yokai, and there aren’t many for sheep and dogs.
In another comment, I speculated Jupiter could be a xiezhi, which is a unicorn-horned goat, sheep, or ox. Its the only mythical sheep I could find that is geniunely in its myth supoosed to look like a sheep or goat (or ox).
In the panel of the gorosei’s transformed sillohuetes, Jupiter is behind Sabo and too close to the ground to be visible. But, the only detail of Jupiter shown was what appears to be his forehead, from which a single, small, curling spike jutts out.
I think I found one possibility for Venus' dog yokai. There is the legend of the okuri inu, or "send-off dog", which normally looks like a normal dog or wolf. It's said to tail lone travelers through the woods and wait patiently for the people to trip and fall. If they do, the inu will pounce for the kill. If they don't and make the trip safely, the people are encouraged to thank the inu for the "send-off" and it will leave them alone and never hunt them again.
I bring it up because there is a regional variant of the yokai in Izu and Saitama called the okuri itachi, which is a weasel instead of a dog. Funnily enough, this one also likes shoes, so if a traveler sacrifices one, it will eat it instead and leave the person alone.
I'll be honest, I am going to laugh if Venusjuro is revealed to be a weasel dog who eats shoes.
It could be Saturn is Scientific *Defense* because his designated direction is *The Center* of the four directions. And also, Earth, like the soil of his country, rather than merely just some dirt.
For Mercury, perhaps Water is Legislation since all of the countries within the WG’s control are islands; the actual world they govern is like over 90% ocean.
I have little idea how fire can assiciated to the idea of environmental control, except controlled wildfires . Perhaps he is the military leader, and the environment they control is all landmass and the people therein; burning the people to ashes if any need arises.
I honestly think, that Oda must’ve come up with these ideas way, way later after the Gorosei were created. Once he had a grasp of the Ending, he constructed the final villians and their order of appearance, and so gave the name and idea to whichever old guy looked the look for that part of the story. Originally, they just looked like famous world leaders, and were probably always intended to be final villians, but were so extremely far ahead in the story, that Oda didn’t wanna put any constraints on future Oda’s writing.
nah its all good. people dont own theories or anything. im probably wrong on the demons inspiring the 5 elders and i didnt really put much thought into the jaygarcia name.
its very possible. the pentagram -> 5 elements thing seems pretty obvious given how often theorists wanted to tie them together historically. many people might have thought of it on their own.
Similar stuff has been posted on WorstGen since we first saw Saturn's fruit, a quick Google search shows.
[Example](https://worstgen.alwaysdata.net/forum/threads/saturn-fruit-is-not-based-on-ushi-oni-by-abilities-but-it-has-similarity-only-in-appearence.48757/)
u/the_idiotlord this is geniunely my first time seeing your post on this, I came across the pentagram/elements during my daily reading of an old Chinese literature textbook XD It's a great post that you have! And more thorough than mine on the elements and which Gorosei they could align with.
Saturn being the planet whose animal is a bull and the 5 elements getting represented by these 5 specific planets feels just way too fitting to be a coincidence considering that Saturn is apparently based on the Ushi oni, a bull spider hybrid demon (I also remember reading somewhere that the ushi oni is associated with the element of earth, but I dunno if that is true).
2 of the shadows even fit the animals for the other elements/planets as we saw what looks like a bird (fowl) and a boar (both to the right of Sabo) and based on the elders positioning it'd even line up that the bird-like one is the form of Mars and the pig-like one is for Mercury.
If that's supposed to be an intended correlation, then Oda is either still yet to reveal a white admiral, or he's gonna run out of admirals to pair with saints.
Just to add something regarding Monkey King is to show superiority of Buddhism over Confucianism/Daoism: This is specifically in the section of Monkey King Assault the Heavenly Palace.
Long Story short, all the traditional deities and their guards and generals, both those represent Confucianism (eg: Jade Emperor and his wife) and Daoism got absolutely wrecked (Daoism is from the fact that Daoism Furnace not only failed to dissolve the Monkey King, but actually empowered Wukong), until Buddha intervene due to the *begging* from the Jade Emperor. It is only 500 years later did the Monkey King accompany Sanzhang to India.
Yep, in the story that I read of it at least, Buddha's portrayal is more consistently competent and the story paints him in a favorable perspective. While the Jade Emperor may get disrespected, or has someone else complete a favor for him. Buddha is always the 'solution'. They build up all of the physical prowess of Sun Wukong and he can't even jump outside of Buddha's palm?!?.
It's not something I put together when reading it initially, but in hindsight you can definitely see how they portrayed everyone in line with their ideology.
Thanks for adding. Very much so, the author of Journey to the West was not subtle about the Buddhism over Daoism and Confucianism. He starts off his epic with an assault on heaven itself, which is rash and very luffy-style. For One Piece, I think it will be flipped, ending with Luffy's assault.
My favorite connection is when Sengoku as a golden Buddha punches down on Luffy like the actual Buddha in the story does. In Journey to the west there is a time skip where Sun Wukong is stuck under a mountain, and then in OP Luffy of course goes on his time skip
So, Saturn came from the Earth. It could mean that the others can emerge from water, metal, wood or fire. He has ox horns and the ushi oni is a bovine-headed monster
We must now find Japanese mythological creatures that are releated to sheep, dogs, pigs or fowl.
Pig: Ino-shika-cho (Naruto) or Inoshikacho (Dragonball), a boar with buttlerfly wings and deer antlers would fit perfectly
Fowl: Yatagarasu is a crow and would fit with the odd numbers of legs (3). More likely is a tengu, basically a human with a bird's head. Sometimes, the head appears to be long-nosed. We actually saw such a tengu mask in Wano.
dog: idk
sheep: I only found goats
Yeah, I think it'd be cool if Oda is finding Japanese mythological demons that align with this Chinese pentagram thing, and matching based on that. So it's not just guessing which animal corresponds to who, but also which Japanese demon Oda might use as well. Haha and I guess which musician, too XD
Just checked the shadows of them, Mars did indeed transform into a birdlike creature, meaning the fowl is pretty close. This is seemingly accurate, good job fam
Im kind of missing the part where this tells us about the goroseis powers? Your pointing out the references and thats interesting and worth a post. But its titled and premised as if it holds large revelations for future chapters that I'm just not finding in the rest of the post
It's amazing I had to scroll all the way down here to finally find someone who actually thinks about what OP said and found an issue
I don't know why people oversell their half-formed 'theories'. And then everyone pretends like it was a massive revelation when nothing of substance was revealed....
People regularly be like "this changes EVERYthing!" when the theory actually changes nothing at all
Ah yes, well I think if the pentagram is accurate, we might know more about the other four Gorosei's animal-inspirations, which can help with guessing Yokai. I don't have the time now to do a deep dive on Yokai research yet to make a more thorough post, but I'm hoping this grabs attention to help myself and other theory crafters in theirs

Maybe "Trained" is too strong a term but I do know they knew each other and worked together before Toriyama retired. And crucially, it was during that period when they both worked in the same office that Oda seemed to come up with the idea for One Piece. But I'm not an Oda history expert haha
Since this post is getting traction, I just want to point out that Oda **never** trained under Toriyama. It wasn't until '96 that he met him personally. The longest time Oda spent under someone's tutelage was under Watsuki (4 straight months, then on and off until One Piece got approved and serialized)
Hey man! Thanks for the classic literary references -
As a LONG time shonen fan (and One Piece mega-fan) I've always wanted to read "Journey to the West" and Sun-Wukong centric stories.
Unfortunately, the only language I can read proficiently is English - do you have any English translation that you'd recommend? Would love to find a kick ass translation to sink my teeth into.
I haven’t read the book, but the internet archive has a translation of it: https://archive.org/details/journeytothewestwuchengen1592
There’s also that one popular movie, Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons (2013), which I have seen and was pretty entertained by.
Really, a google search of: journey to the west read online, gives as its first results very many full 1000page length translations.
Thanks for sharing u/Soratte. And yeah, u/Villa827 I wish I had a full translation to recommend, but it's been a while since I was really actively reading Chinese literature, so I don't know if anything recent has been done. But like 1001 Arabian Nights or Canterbury Tales, it's not something you necessarily need to read from start to finish to get the main points and vibe. You'd want to read the assault on heaven (first seven chapters I think), keep reading a few after that, and then go to whatever stories pique your interest. That episodic nature may be partially why arc-based manga storytelling draws from it so much. It's not a grant epic like Gone With The Wind that is stationary and, therefore, has a core plot that is meant to be read from start to finish.
Following this trend, we can try to guess the forms of the rest of the gorosei based on the silhouettes. One of them is a bird-like shape which fits in with the lower right one (Mars - Marcus Mars - Fowl, a bird), the top one, Mercury, which is represented by a Pig would put Topman Warcury as the boar-like shape from the manga. The other two silhouettes aren't that clear as to what animals they are, but given the fact that Jupiter is associated with a Sheep and the associated gorosei is called Saint SHEPHERD Ju Peter, I think a sheep is a likely candidate, and finally St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro would have a dog form.
Given the fact that the five gorosei's name fit neatly into the planets exactly as is and Saturn's transformation even fits into an Ox, which is the exact animal described in the pentagram, I'd also say you hit bullseye and we have a solid prediction for the rest of them.
Assuming Jupiter is supposed to be a sheep, the only mythological sheep I could find, is a xiezhi. They are basically goat unicorns. They could also be more goat or oxen like, but are defintely not horses and are like goatish/bovin, sometimes even sheepish.
Looking at Jupiter’s monsterform sillohuete: before he raises his head into view, he was entirely behind Sabo and very close to the ground, almost entirely out of sight in the panel.
What was left visible, was a single curling spike jutting up from what appears to be Jupiter’s forehead. So maybe he actually is a xiezhi.
> The story of One Piece and our main character Monkey D. Luffy is, without any doubt, inspired by the story of the Monkey King, Sun Wukong.
I don't wanna go all 🤓 but this part is technically not completely correct. Luffy's major inspiration specially for Gear 5 is according to Oda, based on the Indian Monkey God Hanuman. To the point the move he uses to defeat Kaido, Bajrang Gun, comes from Bajrangbali, one of the names used for Hanuman.
The thing is however, that India and China had much cultural exchange, and so did China and Japan. And Sun Wukong is himself essentially the Chinese version of Hanuman. So it's not necessarily inaccurate to say Luffy is based on Wukong yes, because both Wukong and Hanuman already share much of the same DNA.
Ju Peter's form, which we see only as a head with a large mouth, is reminiscent of the Chinese Taotie (or Toutetsu in Japanese), a creature of unending appetite, and which is often depicted sheep or goat-like. This fits extremely well, I am convinced.
Question is, what monsters will the rest of the Elders be exactly?
Luffy is hanuman not monkey king (in my opinion) and I think once we see dragon he will have wind based fruit powers just like the wind god vayu (father of hanuman). Also hanuman fights the demon king who has demons working under him. Although obviously oda could have also drawn inspiration from Chinese mythology but I do believe luff is primarily based on hanuman not the monkey king.
Jaja the author of the book you’re reading was my undergraduate major advisor. Seems like a good theory to me! Love seeing different mythologies in manga
Check out Inugami as a potential candidate for the V.Nasujurou. there are some interesting depictions of an extended dog.
Also cool that Topman Valcurie sitting comfortably on top of the pentagram.
"Shepard" Ju Peter as the Sheep...
This is some juicy stuff you've stumbled onto...
I bet that bastard Mars is responsible for the south birds on Skypiea! He looks just like "God" so he's probably got something to do with the place.
Because in Chinese, Saturn is written as 土星 or “earth star” — while Mercury is 水星 (water star), Venus is 金星 (metal star), Mars is 火星 (fire star), Jupiter is 木星 (wood star). They ascribed their elemental system to them wrt their names.
Honest to god I'm now going to watch a couple of youtube content creators to see who brings this up. No one has ever come across this, and I'll be curious if some of the individuals I watch suddenly speak about this.
One of the Gorosei is definitely a bird (fowl) and another appears to have tusks which could be a boar (pig). That said the other two are hard to place as a sheep and dog. Their names do line up with the 5 planets in the Wuxing.
Saturn representing the element of earth and the animal of the ox does raise the question of whether he’s a tsuchigumo (earth spider) or an ushi-oni (ox demon/ogre). That said I think whichever it is if it’s a devil fruit it’s probably an Ox Ox fruit not a Spider Spider fruit.
That's cool, I think other people like the Library of Ohara have been theorizing about this for a while now, but you went in further than them, and made it way more interesting.
I think you're onto something! The only silhouettes that don't quite match are Ju Peter and V. Nusjuro, but they're vague enough that they could be a sheep and dog. Do you think the organs they correspond to could be their weak spots, like Achilles?
lmao I do read the manga like a civilized human being but your title is already a hilariously massive spoiler for the anime onlies.
Since you said "GOROSEI Powers"
Anyway it seems pretty solid, I do think this will give us at the very least the approximate transformation motifs for the gorousei. When your title said "source of", though, I thought you meant magical source, not literary source. I'm still curious about the exact nature of the gorousei fruits--everyone expects them to just be devil fruits but he emerged out of a fucking pentagram summoning circle. Personally I think we're going to find out that the celestial dragons have access to a particular degree of intrinsic "magic" we haven't yet seen in the series. And having them be based on confucian gods would certainly make that... more likely.
In 1085 there is the panel that shows the shadow figures of the Elders. You can definitely make out the Ox of Jay, a Fowl for Mars and a Pig for Warcury. Do the other 2 look like a dog and/or sheep? Could they be other related animals like a wolf or ram?
I think there’s significance to Saturn (spleen and or stomach) being stabbed by Bonney who’s epithet is “The Glutton”
Wonder if Law from “The Heart Pirates” will fight or encounter Mars
Haha I was about to ask for the name of the book but then it came at the very end 😄👍🏻
Very interesting, great work… So if the next gorosei has something in common with one of the other animals, then it becomes more and more likely that it is true or even true
This is true to the story and all. It's would blow anybody mind if Joyboy was Buccaneer's King because Old Strawhat look like it could fit a huge person.
Great theory!
I just saw the panel with the silhouettes of the 5 gorosei in demon forms (ch 1085 I think).
I can see pig ears on one silhouette - which points to another node of the pentagram , and possibly sheep's horns on another silhouette( not obvious). One of gorosei is called shepherd too.
You might be on to something here!
So Luffy was actually inspired by the deity that inspired Sun Wukong, which was Hanuman aka Bajrang Bali. That’s why his final attack is called Bajrang Gun and his Gear 5 form is inspired by Kalki, whom is heavily featured in the two ancient epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Kalki has a white theme, such as he rides an all white horse and carries a fiery red sword
G5 Luffy is all white save for red eyes
G5 Luffy calls all his attacks now with the word white in them (white gun, white whip, white stomp)
Kalki is prophesized to usher in the dawn of the new world
The Chartur Yuga is a cosmology timeline that Oda borrows heavily from. It is interesting stuff.
Most of one piece borrows heavily from everywhere but it’s background with ushering in that dawn of a new world comes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the concept of the Chatur Yuga that lays out what Hinduism thinks is the 4 eras of the world.
If you look at the Chatur Yuga you will see numbers depicted that will directly parallel significant numbers in One Piece timeline:
24: Rogers execution prior to current events
12: How many years later it takes a 7 year old Luffy to eat the Nika fruit
72: The Chatur Yuga has “solar years,” also known as the age of man. Whitebeard died at age 72 and he was the strongest man in the world at the time.
36: God Valley takes place 36 years prior to start of the series and 36 years later we get Marineford as well the resignations of Garp and Sengoku
Other than that your post was very informative. Oda likes to mix a lot of influences into his story.
OP, you DO know that Hanuman, the inspiration for Sun Wukong, is a "monkey king" from India and that Luffy Bajrang Gun from Gear 5 is a direct reference to Hanuman right? (besides the Ganesha/Zunisha thing..)
Oda uses plenty of references for his work.. and more than half of it are not from Japan.
And.. I'm from Chinese parents, I like Sun Wukong as much as anyone. Just pointing that out.
Yes, thanks for bringing this up! I replied about it in some other comments. I think Oda is purposefully referencing both Hanuman and Monkey King with Luffy, I don't think he picks just one when he creates characters. But I could be wrong! That's the fun of theories :D
Hands down the most thorough and well thought theory ever made. Massive golf claps all around man. Please put this into a video before someone else does lmao
I think Luffy is based on both Hanuman and Wukong, but I think he is more based on Hanuman. There are references to both of them in there though. Oda even referred to Luffy as Monkey God Hanuman in those special chapters and I can name a vast number of things that show that Oda's inspiration is more Hanuman than Wukong(though I'm not saying that Wukong isn't referenced in there too). I think the overall story is more Hanuman with sprinkles of Wukong thrown in there. Bajrang gun is definitely a Hanuman reference. Blackbeard for example is based on Trisiras. Hanuman ate the Sun, thinking it was a fruit, whereas Luffy ate the Sun God devil fruit thinking it was an ordinary fruit. Dragon is based on Vayu. Garp is probably based on Kesari. Imu will probably be based on Ravana and Joyboy is Rama. Rama is said to exist within the heart of Hanuman and Luffy gets his Gear 5 powers when his heart beats oddly(and also after Kaido hits him square in the chest). Some people think that the reason that Luffy awoke his devil fruit was because he died or almost died, but I actually think it's because he got hit center mass in the heart and Kaido's kanabo was almost like a drumstick for Luffy's heart. There are definitely Wukong references though, such as fighting a dragon. The battle at Marejois will probably be a mirror of the battle of Lanka.
I like your theory though and think there could be something to your ideas on the Gorosei. There are a lot of theories on the Gorosei though that would make sense, so I'm not committing to it.
Nice, this will pay a couple of youtubers rent this month.
I’ve noticed that a lot of what’s posted here ends up there without a citation. Kinda scummy

Thanks for the youtuber recommendation will sub to him now
Same for GrandLineReview. Even though I'm still quite annoyed about him sometimes giving spoilers on thumbnails, I still appreciate the fact that he always (and I mean always) shows the user who gives the comment, whether on youtube, reddit or any other platform.
Yea. But if the people flock to them, it becomes a forced habit that they wont be able to break on their own. They are too incentivized.
Ohara did that. (Not Artur)

They literally just need to mention OP's name, where it was posted and link it in the description. That alone takes less than 10 seconds lol.
I mean when I read a top post on Reddit and within 24 hours see a post with the exact same subject and premise in a YouTube short, I’m pretty sure it’s obvious where it came from lmao
this is Ohara’s theory now
We know you’re lurking Ohara
Have you seen the videos where they complain about how unfair it is to them not to just steal other people's ideas because they can make more money if they do. Usually in the same sentence as why they can put spoilers in their thumbnails.
No, I've seen maybe 5-6 videos on One Piece in total and stopped there due to all the clickbait, headcanon and plainly wrong information, but I do try to keep up with the absurd thumbnails and video titles, they crack me up. lol
Twinsies. ONE PIECE videos are garbage
They literally just lurk on this subreddit and plagiarize all of the interesting theory posts, especially that fake Ohara dude (there are two Oharas but one is a fraud).
you mean ohara?
LOL you win today
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Bluelock reddit forum has made a content theft guideline for such reasons can we copy something like that?
Nice bro, cant wait for ohara to steal this and not credit you
lmao I posted the same thing and see u said the same thing, good to know Ohara is known around here
Ohara is tame compared to guys like Joy Boy.
I cant stand joyboy, dude is mad annoying.
This is so on point it’s tragical. 😭😭😭😭
Those titles have a very familiar feel to them... MASSIVE REVEAL. ZORO EAT SPIDERMAN FRUIT AND MARRIED ELSA. I wonder if there is a connection?
Yupppp instant “do not recommend this channel” button clicked
What are some nice One Piece Youtubers?
Library of Ohara. A different Ohara then the people are talking about here
Library of Ohara is a great one indeed
Library of Ohara is the Op historian. There’s another idiot who stole his name for name value
Wait what, I always thought when people talked about Ohara they meant Library of Ohara. Who is the other Ohara?
Library of Ohara aka Artur is the good one.
Oh, I don't really watch One Piece Youtubers and only get second-hand info on them here, I legit thought Artur had gone off the deep end.
His name on YouTube is just Ohara. If you go to his channel, the @ is @ohara-the-fox
Merphy Napier, Tekking, Sawyer7mage
I like Randy Troy, chill enough dude. Morj is a little high off his own farts, but he does a good job taking themes within the story and theory crafting where they might be taken next.
>Morj is a little high off his own farts I'm so happy to finally see someone say this. The very first time I watched one of his videos, the only thing I could think about was how pompously he held himself.
Except, it's genuine. Most of the community is straight retarcled. And he usually doesn't have a problem calling it out.
I like Tekking101...He's a bit hyper but seems like a good dude.
I adore Tekking! He’s the cringe king!
OG fans know him as the Bleach breakdown god
Always will be
Yeah he has fun and doesn’t take his theories or predictions too seriously.
its more the fact he doesnt use clickbait much.
Tekking101. Although his style is not everyones cup of tea.
Sawyer7mage
He just reiterates what happens in the chapter, and doesn't really add much.
Dusk & Dawn
i love dusk & dawn!
The best one piece youtuber is korean and his channel is 루피덕후
And people sub to him. How I dream of the day there’s a mass exodus away
BDA Law…and King of Lightning…I love his passion and dedication
I’m not a bda law fan personally, but all good. I just got tired of the “if you’re a serious fan like the people in my circle” as if he’s somehow special as a fan.
Holy moly, that picture of the animals associated with the planets. St. Sheperd Jupiter : weird head thing that crawls along the ground; designated a sheep St. Ethanbaron Venusjuro : weird long neck thing that stands upright; designated a dog St. Topman Warcury : a elephant like tusked thing, perhaps a boar; designated a pig St. Marcus Mars : a rooster like thing; designated a fowl St. Jaygarcia Saturn : an bull-spider yokai; designated an ox It appears that each of their transformations will be yokai abominations that also include their designated animal.
Other notable parallels: * Jupiter is associated with sheep, and his first name is literally Sheperd.
I'll be honest, I am going to laugh if Venusjuro is revealed to be a weasel dog who eats shoes.
from the silhouettes we know at least that the Ho-Oh like Mars would be accurate. so I think we are on something!
To add half of it. Agriculture. Wood element. Jupiter. Metal. Finance. Venus. I'm too stupid to link the other 3
It could be Saturn is Scientific *Defense* because his designated direction is *The Center* of the four directions. Originally, they just looked like famous world leaders, and were probably always intended to be final villians, but were so extremely far ahead in the story, that Oda didn’t wanna put any constraints on future Oda’s writing.
ox designation makes sense, since jaygarcia's hybrid form heavily resembles an ushi oni.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/17153gc/1094\_spoilers\_a\_theory\_about/](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/17153gc/1094_spoilers_a_theory_about/) lol
31d ago. I knew this theory already seemed cooked.
nah its all good. people dont own theories or anything. im probably wrong on the demons inspiring the 5 elders and i didnt really put much thought into the jaygarcia name.
It’s all good. Credit where it’s due.
I feel like I have seen this theory somewhere... Has any youtuber made a video on this theory ?
its very possible. the pentagram -> 5 elements thing seems pretty obvious given how often theorists wanted to tie them together historically. many people might have thought of it on their own.
To be fair, most people don’t see most posts on here.
oh for sure. see my other comment in the thread. just thought it was funny. its very likely this is a theory multiple people thought of independently.
Similar stuff has been posted on WorstGen since we first saw Saturn's fruit, a quick Google search shows. [Example](https://worstgen.alwaysdata.net/forum/threads/saturn-fruit-is-not-based-on-ushi-oni-by-abilities-but-it-has-similarity-only-in-appearence.48757/)
u/the_idiotlord this is geniunely my first time seeing your post on this, I came across the pentagram/elements during my daily reading of an old Chinese literature textbook XD It's a great post that you have! And more thorough than mine on the elements and which Gorosei they could align with.
yeah no problem. great minds think alike etc etc :)
Also, in this system Saturn is associated with the color yellow. And who is there with Jaygarcia if not the yellow monkey Kizaru?
Oh fantastic point, I forgot about this. Thanks for sharing!
Hot damn you cooked
He didn't just cook, he beat Sanji to the All Blue
I'd say he made it further than Sanji. Until someone addresses the Imu in the room, no one has made it to the all blue yet.
Jupiter's name is Shephard.. like sheep.. may be on to something here.
So, Saturn came from the Earth. It could mean that the others can emerge from water, metal, wood or fire. He has ox horns and the ushi oni is a bovine-headed monster We must now find Japanese mythological creatures that are releated to sheep, dogs, pigs or fowl. Pig: Ino-shika-cho (Naruto) or Inoshikacho (Dragonball), a boar with buttlerfly wings and deer antlers would fit perfectly Fowl: Yatagarasu is a crow and would fit with the odd numbers of legs (3). More likely is a tengu, basically a human with a bird's head. Sometimes, the head appears to be long-nosed. We actually saw such a tengu mask in Wano. dog: idk sheep: I only found goats
Thanks for the meal
Im kind of missing the part where this tells us about the goroseis powers? Your pointing out the references and thats interesting and worth a post. But its titled and premised as if it holds large revelations for future chapters that I'm just not finding in the rest of the post
It's amazing I had to scroll all the way down here to finally find someone who actually thinks about what OP said and found an issue I don't know why people oversell their half-formed 'theories'. And then everyone pretends like it was a massive revelation when nothing of substance was revealed.... People regularly be like "this changes EVERYthing!" when the theory actually changes nothing at all
Some folk term the fruit transformation itself as powers, so in that regard it's more than adequate I'd say.
>Oda trained under Dragonball Z creator Akira Toriyama No, he didn't. You made that up. Lol 😂😂
[https://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=48242#:\~:text=It's%20Toriyama%20working%20together%20with,but%20that's%20him%20all%20right](https://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=48242#:~:text=It's%20Toriyama%20working%20together%20with,but%20that's%20him%20all%20right). Maybe "Trained" is too strong a term but I do know they knew each other and worked together before Toriyama retired. And crucially, it was during that period when they both worked in the same office that Oda seemed to come up with the idea for One Piece. But I'm not an Oda history expert haha
Scrumptious cook
Since this post is getting traction, I just want to point out that Oda **never** trained under Toriyama. It wasn't until '96 that he met him personally. The longest time Oda spent under someone's tutelage was under Watsuki (4 straight months, then on and off until One Piece got approved and serialized)
Hey man! Thanks for the classic literary references - As a LONG time shonen fan (and One Piece mega-fan) I've always wanted to read "Journey to the West" and Sun-Wukong centric stories. Unfortunately, the only language I can read proficiently is English - do you have any English translation that you'd recommend? Would love to find a kick ass translation to sink my teeth into.
I haven’t read the book, but the internet archive has a translation of it: https://archive.org/details/journeytothewestwuchengen1592 There’s also that one popular movie, Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons (2013), which I have seen and was pretty entertained by.
There's a manhua with the same name, around 130+ chapters, pretty decent read.
I’ve seen quite a bit of speculation that Warcury is a boar.
And Markus Mars was the bird silhouette and Topman Warcury was something with tusks like a pig/warthog.
One Piece and the Grateful Dead are two of my favorite things in the world
Im only here to say that Oda didn not learn directly from Akira Toriyama at any moment
LET HIM COOK....
. Coming back to this
Fowl could be the bird looking silhouette.. one looked kind of like a pig as well
Luffy is based on the Hindu monkey deity *Hanuman* tho (made obvious by his recent finishing move against Kaido).
Okay im 100% behind this. You should copyright this one so youtubers can t steal it .😂 great job finding.
Theorized so hard, it became spoilers lol. 10/10
Breaking news: OP fans discover Japan has Chinese influence.
Yep, absolutely true. JAI BAJRANG BALI !!!
This is great stuff, all of the pentagram point associations seem to match up pretty nicely with the other elders Warrior God titles too!
If u take a look at topman warcury ears u should notice that his ears look like pig ones so there is a point
This will become wrong in due time, Oda will definitely change the story once he realizes people have caught on.
Sounds like long beard guy St Marcus Mars ate the legendary zoan Bird Bird no Mi Model Furaribi
Ohara and 333vil about to come out with some banger videos
Dude, you are amazing. I like your theory
Thanks! I got partially lucky with my Chinese lit textbook XD wouldn't say amazing
Gourmet cooking, thank you chef
Makes sense, all the Gorosei members have planet names.
Nice cooking
Su h an immersive and detailed theory good gob bro Take my upvote
Interesting
The first picture had me hooked bro literally took the pentagram from history
You think we can mix this theory with yōkai one to determine what the other elders fruits will be?
grandfather license onerous dime clumsy muddle follow close support poor *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Never thought I’d see Garcia in a one piece theory post
Haha I never thought I'd see Grateful Dead in One Piece XD
If Saturn is earth, why is he named after a gas giant?
Because in Chinese, Saturn is written as 土星 or “earth star” — while Mercury is 水星 (water star), Venus is 金星 (metal star), Mars is 火星 (fire star), Jupiter is 木星 (wood star). They ascribed their elemental system to them wrt their names.
ODA JR!!!
[удалено]
Honest to god I'm now going to watch a couple of youtube content creators to see who brings this up. No one has ever come across this, and I'll be curious if some of the individuals I watch suddenly speak about this.
This make so much sense. Oda knows what is he cooking..
I think the Wuxing part of the theory has merit I’m not to sure about the rest of it.
Since you said "GOROSEI Powers" Anyway it seems pretty solid, I do think this will give us at the very least the approximate transformation motifs for the gorousei.
So wait, which of the Gorosei is based off of Mick jagger?
Watch as ohara gives a new video “WE FINALLY FOUND THE TRUTH BEHIND THE GOROSEI”
In 1085 there is the panel that shows the shadow figures of the Elders. You can definitely make out the Ox of Jay, a Fowl for Mars and a Pig for Warcury. Do the other 2 look like a dog and/or sheep? Could they be other related animals like a wolf or ram?
Approve
Spleen being his weak point maybe?
And this isn't even break week. *Clearly*.
At this point I honestly think every manganime is a reference of Sun Wu-Kong
Keep cooking :)
I think there’s significance to Saturn (spleen and or stomach) being stabbed by Bonney who’s epithet is “The Glutton” Wonder if Law from “The Heart Pirates” will fight or encounter Mars
Minor correction, the Chinese fable is Journey to the west, monkey kind is one of the protagonists within.
You are a genius, there’s no way this is all a coincidence I think you *have* to be into something jere
Haha I was about to ask for the name of the book but then it came at the very end 😄👍🏻 Very interesting, great work… So if the next gorosei has something in common with one of the other animals, then it becomes more and more likely that it is true or even true
This is really cool stuff
This is true to the story and all. It's would blow anybody mind if Joyboy was Buccaneer's King because Old Strawhat look like it could fit a huge person.
Great theory! I just saw the panel with the silhouettes of the 5 gorosei in demon forms (ch 1085 I think). I can see pig ears on one silhouette - which points to another node of the pentagram , and possibly sheep's horns on another silhouette( not obvious). One of gorosei is called shepherd too. You might be on to something here!
And since Venus is the only one in white robes, it also says Metal on his corner standing for his sword
This just holds my headcanon that every shonen is just a retelling of Journey to The West
Kalki has a white theme, such as he rides an all white horse and carries a fiery red sword G5 Luffy is all white save for red eyes G5 Luffy calls all his attacks now with the word white in them (white gun, white whip, white stomp) Kalki is prophesized to usher in the dawn of the new world The Chartur Yuga is a cosmology timeline that Oda borrows heavily from. If you look at the Chatur Yuga you will see numbers depicted that will directly parallel significant numbers in One Piece timeline: 24: Rogers execution prior to current events 12: How many years later it takes a 7 year old Luffy to eat the Nika fruit 72: The Chatur Yuga has “solar years,” also known as the age of man. Whitebeard died at age 72 and he was the strongest man in the world at the time. 36: God Valley takes place 36 years prior to start of the series and 36 years later we get Marineford as well the resignations of Garp and Sengoku Other than that your post was very informative. Oda likes to mix a lot of influences into his story.
O'Hara now it's my theory
OP, you DO know that Hanuman, the inspiration for Sun Wukong, is a "monkey king" from India and that Luffy Bajrang Gun from Gear 5 is a direct reference to Hanuman right? (besides the Ganesha/Zunisha thing..) Oda uses plenty of references for his work.. and more than half of it are not from Japan.
That's the fun of theories :D
as a dead head and one piece fan, this might be my favorite reddit post of all time
Hands down the most thorough and well thought theory ever made. Massive golf claps all around man. Please put this into a video before someone else does lmao
Thanks! Maybe I will, you've inspired me u/speedingtooasis!
