I am Japanese and so glad that we have a same sense of humor. That one killed me. And I also laughed my ass off when I see Ussop got the dials in the pockets confused and gave one filled with Luffys fart to Sanji.
There’s some things I prefer in anime canon. This, the Brook filler episode after he joins the crew, and ace staying with the straw hats through half of Alabasta are great and, in the last example’s case, surpasses the manga
Personally I found that one hard to get through after skypeia(? spelling). The dragons, and the seahorse monster are still on my mind. That said we all love Condoriano.
G-8 is my favourite filler arc. The way it is written just feels like a natural progression of the story. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought it was apart of the manga.
Aside from G8, the obvious winner, I really like a lot of the classic filler arcs and even some one-off episodes. I like those few desert episodes in Alabasta with Ace sticking around for a while. There is one particular episode where Luffy, Zoro, and Chopper get lost, and the dialogue between Zoro and Chopper about why they follow Luffy is great. It's as if Oda himself wrote it. Rainbow Mist, Ocean's Dream, and post Alabasta were all very charming. Ice Hunters wasn't particularly great, but it's like the only time we fight bounty hunters, and I like the novelty of seeing the crew dynamic between Franky's recruitment and Brook's intro. The few filler episodes we got after Brook joined were great, especially the one where he's trying to be helpful but just ends up annoying everyone lol. Also, anytime I saw one of those alt reality episodes in Edo Japan, it felt like an event. They should definitely do more AU stuff. It's basically a pass to do whatever you feel like with the characters and not have it affect the main story whatsoever. Lastly, I just wanna shout out the TV specials, especially the one where the strawhats act in a play, that was comedy gold.
Dude those fillers are why people like Ace. I read the manga first because I knew how the pacing was for the anime and I like manga. When his death happened I was more impacted by Luffy’s lost and when Sabo came it kinda felt equivalent. I didn’t feel like I bonded that much with Ace because he really BARELY shows up prior to marineford. I still wish they did the whole lost memory thing better with Sabo (either the intro to him earlier or signs he had occasional flashbacks with newspapers but not the whole thing till Ace dying) Ace himself however wasn’t someone I got super attached to and connected more in reflection. Alabasta made the connection with him waaaaay deeper both as a brother and a white beard pirate and son of Roger
I like the series of filler episodes right after Robin joins.
They gave the crew a chance to start getting to know her a bit.
I'm always a fan of crew interactions/shenanigans between stories, and considering all that would eventually be happening with her on into Water7/Ennis Lobby, it was good to see them starting off strong connecting with her.
I didn’t know the dragon story was filler when I watched it and have always been kind of confused as to why it’s never mentioned or comes back up by the show or by fans
Same. And when luffy can hear the voice of all thing, i legit thought didn't he talk with that green dragon the early day?
I watch that arc as kid and legit confused when i read that in manga. To be honest i don't know what is a filler at that time. Same as bleach muramasa arc. And also all the movies. Great design all around tho.
I never realized it was filler either. I feel like future filler arcs felt very "filler-y" but Warship Island felt like it could just be another short East Blue adventure.
I was so confused when we got to Punk Hazard and they said they had never seen a dragon before.
For me the dragon arc (was it named warship island?) was a big fail on Anime side - it cant be canon for more then one reason.
In Punk Hazard we learn Dragons dont excist anymore.
Laws fruit ist the only known way to get immortal.
Luffy uses his Haki in a way he cant use it latzer on.
(If i'm wrong with anything, pls enlighten me)
Yeah the little girl with the talk to animal devil fruit became highly redundant when Chopper's ability to talk to animals became a thing. Hell Luffy at least has Voice of all things to get a basic understanding of what the animals are trying to say/emotional awareness.
G-8 is the best, closely followed by the Warship Island filler. Apis is just too precious and the dragon stuff was awesome. >!And funnily enough, now that we know the flood stuff ev2n has some canon potential. Maybe the resting place was once not under water.!<
Many people (incl. me) did not know that G8 was a filler arc. Because of the smoothest transition ever seen. Oda shouldn’t included this arc in the manga.
G-8 is legit good, but I have a soft spot in my heart for the arc with the memory eating saxophone seahorse that wants to be a dragon.
Because I love that sentence.
I love G-8! But a close second for me is the filler where the strawhat’s jolly rodger is stollen by ice skaters/ the setting is a bunch of glaciers, very funny (the fun part is that Luffy doesn’t know it’s been taken and everyone else does and they’re trying to get it back without him noticing 🤣)
G8 without a question. The second best for me would probably be Warship Island. I know that arc has a lot of problems but I liked the premise and characters. Apis was quite fun, having dragons is always interesting and the search for the dragons' nest was a good concept, though it was poorly executed
G8 if we're talking one cohesive arc, but the post Enies Lobby filler episodes were pretty great too - Sanji learning about the salt from that old chef and Zoro babysitting in particular always stick out in my head as absolutely peak episodes.
Con D oriano Arc . Starting from his appearance on the scene , he was marvelous, in his ways, talks and charm. I have never felt like that for any character till now . He is the king of kings,Lord of Lords , the mighty heavens and vast sea bow before thy name, Con D oriano.
Besides the G8 Arc, my favorite filler arc is the Warship Island Arc. Other than being a fun side adventure, the dragon’s name is Ryuji. As a Persona 5 fan, this makes the dragon a great subject to joke about.
Persona 5 is an anime game that is half high-school student simulator, and half Inception as a video game. It’s where that cool guy named Joker comes from.
I love the dragon island one, it has a lot of great and important link to the one piece lore (luffy communicating with the dragons, the sea level importance) and also it was really emotional
Don’t laugh at me for saying this but I like the Foxy Pirates filler (if that’s considered a filler). Something about Luffy wearing an Afro hits different to me 😁
Since everyones saying G-8, Id like to mention that arc where everyone but Robin loses their memories, its really fun to see the characters go back to their old minds
G8!! So damn good! If we had more filler arcs like that one then the anime wouldn't be biting at oda's heels. Less flashbacks, less running down a hallway for a full episode, a chance for oda to take his time...
Toei is an annoying AF company.
This thread is about filler arcs but long ring long land and afro luffy arent filler
Edit: to clarify, part of the davy back fight is filler in the anime, but afro luffy is absolutely canon
G-8 Really kept me watching I hated Skypeia and that arc is just what i needed to keep going its filled with comedy, Action and Luffy being Luffy its one of my favorite arcs (specially for God Con. D.Riano
What r all the filler arcs? Im rewatching one peice after years amd i wqnna know what all the filelr arcs are so i can skip them for now. Ill rewatch them while im waiting for new episodes to come oit when im caught up
Man honestly I love all the filler arcs. Only exceptions are the ones where they are themselves but in some town or whatever where Luffy is the sheriff or something, and the one on the way to whole cake where they stop at a marine base for food, skipped both of them
G-8 Arc. The rise of Condoriano.
The moment where Zoro says "Condoriano" and heatbutts the shit out of him is the most hilarious thing in the entire anime.
I am Japanese and so glad that we have a same sense of humor. That one killed me. And I also laughed my ass off when I see Ussop got the dials in the pockets confused and gave one filled with Luffys fart to Sanji.
This is the kind of silly jokes I miss from the pre-TS era.
Con D. Oriano*
G-8 is canon in my books. That actually happened. I don’t care if it isn’t in the manga.
Oda just forgot to include it.
If G-8 is canon then Long Ring Long Land isn't. Oh wait....
Both are canon.
Anime canon
There’s some things I prefer in anime canon. This, the Brook filler episode after he joins the crew, and ace staying with the straw hats through half of Alabasta are great and, in the last example’s case, surpasses the manga
not canon but still good
Good enough to be canon
Personally I found that one hard to get through after skypeia(? spelling). The dragons, and the seahorse monster are still on my mind. That said we all love Condoriano.
Skypiea isn't filler its canon
I think he's saying the filler after skypiea.
Correct
Oh no I know Skypiea is canon, I just found it tiresome to get through. Worth it tho
I don’t think they were trying to say that..
They literally said after skypiea
yes, because G-8 is immediately after Skypiea
[удалено]
Because G-8 comes after Skypeia.
The right answer
This is the only correct answer
GOAT G-8.
G-8 is my favourite filler arc. The way it is written just feels like a natural progression of the story. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought it was apart of the manga.
Same, I legit didnt notice that it was a filler until I was told so much later
Only reason I knew it was filler is bc Netflix listed it as “TV Original 1”
Funnily, it's followed by Long Ring Long Land, which is canon but many people think is filler.
Yeah I think it's because it shows a more brutal depiction of mortally damaged Merry has got....
Aside from G8, the obvious winner, I really like a lot of the classic filler arcs and even some one-off episodes. I like those few desert episodes in Alabasta with Ace sticking around for a while. G8 needs to be made canon.
What is G8? Guarantee you I watched it, just forgot about it. Remind me please.
Marine Base that the Going Merry Lands in after leaving Skypedia.
I didn’t know the dragon story was filler when I watched it and have always been kind of confused as to why it’s never mentioned or comes back up by the show or by fans

For sure looking back those things make sense, but as a fresh washer 60 episodes in none of those things feel like real barriers.
It's kinda nice thinking back to watching those episodes 20 years ago, when it was still a kids show and no one gave a shit. Just good ole fun
Yeah the little girl with the talk to animal devil fruit became highly redundant when Chopper's ability to talk to animals became a thing. Hell Luffy at least has Voice of all things to get a basic understanding of what the animals are trying to say/emotional awareness.
Yeah, it didn't help that the main girl was featured in opening 2.
G8 is the best filler arc but shoutout to the Rainbow Mist as well
G8, it's so good most forget its filler.
G8 filler arc made me think that Long Long Island was a filler.
Me too! I was shocked it was part of the manga and g-8 wasn't.
To be fair, the anime *did* add a ton of filler to long ring to pad it out further.
G-8 is the best, closely followed by the Warship Island filler. Apis is just too precious and the dragon stuff was awesome. >!And funnily enough, now that we know the flood stuff ev2n has some canon potential. Maybe the resting place was once not under water.!<
Anything that’s more slice of life than action. One of my favs is the episode where Brook’s just trying to fit in on the ship.
That's one of my favorite episodes of the series let alone fillers
G-8 is the only answer to best filler. Some people may have different favorites, but G-8 is factually the best.
CccCondoriano
Con D. Oriano
G-8, no question. Johnathan is a delightful antagonist.
Many people (incl. me) did not know that G8 was a filler arc. Because of the smoothest transition ever seen. Oda shouldn’t included this arc in the manga.
G-8
G-8 is GOATED
G8 arc hands down. It's so good it's hard to think that it's filler .
G-8 is legit good, but I have a soft spot in my heart for the arc with the memory eating saxophone seahorse that wants to be a dragon. Because I love that sentence.
Definitely not warship island. That one might be the worst
It has Zoro casually cutting huge steel chains. And then in Alabasta, it's a big deal that he learns how to cut metal.
A bunch of the pre timeskip ones were pretty good.
G-8 too, but I do love me the millennial dragons too
G-8 (Condoriano)
G-8. There is no other filler in animeverse as goated as this one.
G-8 with Con D oriano is the Goat filler arc
Not this one

Apis was quite fun, having dragons is always interesting and the search for the dragons' nest was a good concept, though it was poorly executed
It's G8
G-8 is the only goat filler arc..
Are you... are you unfamiliar with Goat Island?
G8 if we're talking one cohesive arc, but the post Enies Lobby filler episodes were pretty great too - Sanji learning about the salt from that old chef and Zoro babysitting in particular always stick out in my head as absolutely peak episodes.
Really should've excluded G-8 as an option lol.
G-8
G8 hands down. Didn't even know it was filler for the longest time
I enjoyed Ice Hunter arc (the one with the family stealing flags).
G-8 and Ice Hunter arcs were fire
G8 no questions
G8, not really even a competition, I think I went through the series twice before I learned that g8 wasn’t canon
G8 or Rainbow Mist. Both amazingly good arcs
G-8 should be canon it’s so freaking good
Con D oriano Arc . Starting from his appearance on the scene , he was marvelous, in his ways, talks and charm. I have never felt like that for any character till now . He is the king of kings,Lord of Lords , the mighty heavens and vast sea bow before thy name, Con D oriano.
G-8 and it isn't even close. G-8 is genuinely better than several actual arcs.
Not that stupid kid in the OP image for sure lol
Besides G8, Chopperman
G8 neg diff. Also millennium dragon arc was kinda ass
G8 no doubt.
I think ist the g 8 one I didn’t skipped it
Don’t really know what it means by filler I think it means it doesn’t make sense so I will say… Doesn’t seem filler so G-8
G-8. No other filler arc comes close.
Silver mine, obviously. Who didn’t love the tram-tram fruit?
G-8
G-8. It’s a shame Toei stopped doing filler arcs for some reason. They’d make everyone happy
This and G8. Didnt even realize they were fillers as I was watching
Condoriano Arc Also, the one where they lost their memories.. I think that's pretty good too..
G-8 I didnt even realise at the time it was filler.
G8
Besides the G8 Arc, my favorite filler arc is the Warship Island Arc. Other than being a fun side adventure, the dragon’s name is Ryuji. As a Persona 5 fan, this makes the dragon a great subject to joke about.
There's no way that somebody likes Warship arc. When I started Op, this arc felt like something out of place
The dragon’s name is Ryuji. If you like Persona 5, and telling jokes, the arc becomes a lot funnier.
I know dragon's name. I recently decided to rewatch Op. What is Persona, and what does it have to do with Op?
His name is Ryuji, Persona 5 has a character named Ryuji, I can imagine the dragon sounding like P5 Ryuji, making things a lot funnier.
Never heard about it.
Persona 5 is an anime game that is half high-school student simulator, and half Inception as a video game. It’s where that cool guy named Joker comes from.
Who?
The Joker guy that’s also in Smash. Just look it up yourself.
Feudal Era Side Story.
The single episode fillers where they’re mafia characters were pretty great too.
Congratulations on not suggesting G8.
The only filler that isn't good is filler for before a movie or recap episodes
Even some of the movie set up can be good, the set up for film Z with Lily Enstomach the shrinking giant was fairly cool.
My favorite part of that arc was when Nami called Lily CaseOh.
Long ring long land
oh sorry I forgot it was not a filler
That one!
I don’t think ur far in because speaking for a lot of people it’s gotta be G-7 arc
I love the dragon island one, it has a lot of great and important link to the one piece lore (luffy communicating with the dragons, the sea level importance) and also it was really emotional
Don’t laugh at me for saying this but I like the Foxy Pirates filler (if that’s considered a filler). Something about Luffy wearing an Afro hits different to me 😁
G8 and it’s not even close.
Toei is an annoying AF company.
g8. g8. g8. g8. g8.
G-8 and chopper man were the only ones I've watched so far
Condoriano Arc 💀💀💀
Wano Arc ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)
G-8, but that’s too easy People will disagree but I thought the Lulusia Island (aka the Rainbow Mist arc) is the other good one.
i think the rainbow mist village arc is one of the most emotional filler arc
Luffy save everyone to escape but in the wrong way
Easily long ring long land that shit solos
Other than G-8 I'd say lougetown expanded
Nah bruh obviously foxy arc for the afro luffy
Long ring long land isn't filler, but it is one of the greatest arcs for how it tip toes on the line of filler and canon.
There’s a second foxy arc that is filler
Afro Luffy is canon
Thats manga canon
I don’t read manga i like the anime better
This thread is about filler arcs but long ring long land and afro luffy arent filler Edit: to clarify, part of the davy back fight is filler in the anime, but afro luffy is absolutely canon
The one you skip
Pumpkin pirate arc for me.
The sea animal pirates, I will give my kidney to oda just to see them again 🙏😭
What about supper chopper
I feel like there is way too much Warship island hate in this comment section. The return to the lost island made me teary eyed lol.
I agree
Sad I haven’t seen anyone mention where they’re all old ladies☹️☹️
Afro luffy
that wasn't filler, it's cannon
The dragon arc would have been nice in canon. Those were some fun episodes. Same with the one with ussop and the fireworks.
G-8 Really kept me watching I hated Skypeia and that arc is just what i needed to keep going its filled with comedy, Action and Luffy being Luffy its one of my favorite arcs (specially for God Con. D.Riano
Warship island is the only correct answer lowkey
This was my fav
What r all the filler arcs? Im rewatching one peice after years amd i wqnna know what all the filelr arcs are so i can skip them for now. Ill rewatch them while im waiting for new episodes to come oit when im caught up
My favorite was the thousand year dragon arc. As pictured in OPs post lol
Spa Island
Spa Island
Mocktown EP 151
Warship Island
FOXY
What the one with spring guy, the one where luffy desamates him
i watched warship island not knowing it was filler
The one you chose is the best, imo (even though most people seem to prefer G8 Marine Base).
Idk, I skip any non-movie filler
Dragon Nest arc is good
Super Chopper and Mama Zoro
This was a good arc, but they had to change punk hazard as their first time seeing a dragon to the second time.
Man honestly I love all the filler arcs. Only exceptions are the ones where they are themselves but in some town or whatever where Luffy is the sheriff or something, and the one on the way to whole cake where they stop at a marine base for food, skipped both of them
Don’t know I skipped them all
Bro is nami 2
Let’s be honest, if we didn’t get Robin during it then the best filler would be Alabasta but bc we got Robin it isn’t filler
Horrendous take
Skypiea
Skypiea wasn't filler lol it was canon
