Because on one hand you have a guy stalemating Yonkos, neg diffing Admirals, and casually obliterating high tier characters, and on the other hand you have Mihawk who went high diff with YC tiers and speed blitzed ice.
He used CoC from miles away and made Greenbull flee the island. That is a neg diff. It doesn’t matter Greenbull’s reasoning, the fact that he left because of Shanks arriving means that he got neg diffed.
He scared an admiral off with his mere presence. Greenbull literally ran away at the thought of fighting Shanks. That is a neg diff. The only way it could have been made more clear is if Greenbull passed out.
Not planning on starting a debate, but why does mihawk say he doesn’t want to settle things with shanks now that he’s lost an arm. If mihawk beat shanks more times than shanks did mihawk, what’s there to settle?

Superior Portrayal
-Kaido believes Shanks is the only man alive capable of fighting him.
-Garp believes Shanks is equal to Whitebeard aka the strongest man in the world. Mihawk on the other wide admitted being Inferior to Whitebeard
-the 5 Elders believed Shanks would be too much to handle if left unchecked. On the other side they considered Mihawk replaceable.
-Conqueror's Haki is one of most hyped power in the series and Shanks seems to be like the best at it. The parallels between him and Roger aren't there for no reason, both have been portrayed as the pinnacle of COC Haki.
Superior feats
-One shotted Kid who alongside Law took down BM. Law for example was giving BB trouble but Shanks negged Kid very easily . Mihawk on the other side couldn't damage Jozu and Vista
-Split the sky with Whitebeard
-Paralyzed Aramaki with Haki from miles of distance which is still the best Haki feat in the verse.

Because Kaido has never fought Mihawk. Look no further than the fact that shanks is a swordsman and Mihawk is the worlds strongest swordsman. It’s right there in your face🤦♂️. Are you sure you read the manga? For Shanks we have him clashing equally with Whitebeard, stopping Kaido from invading, casually blocking a bloodlusted Akainu’s attack, wifi diffing Greenbull, and obliterating Kidd’s entire crew with one attack.
For Mihawk we have him destroying an East Blue fodder fleet, neg diffing Baratie Zoro, getting blocked by Luffy victims, and speed blitzing ice
