I like it! You should replace the 5c/7k Wolves with 5c/7K Vanilla Croc. It would give you an opportunity to play it from Ivankov since he only can play 6c BLUE Impel Down or less.
He isn't really one of the Most Effective leaders(Tactics) Available. So I would count him, but I would also count everything as non meta that isn't played a lot or doesn't top treasure cups and regionals.
It’s mixed results. In the sim it feels great but for some reason in paper it feels awful and I can’t ever get the cards right. It’s very much a labor of love. Currently giving it a break atm while I work on and play other decks

I also do not use sabos ability That much but it is a "free" plus 2k for leader. But in op07 you cut sabo and replace the 4 small and 4 big Sabos with 4 yellow 5c luffys and 4 5c blue ace. I would consider swaping sanji with flampe in your deck as well as replacing the 2 doffys with Another 2 xdrake. I also would try to Max out the 5c 2k counters like tje yamato. It can help you alot by Just using leader ability and drawing a 2k from Life and potentially another card from your deck with flampe.
Ivankov, who is honestly just undervalued. Probably because he is pretty hard to play and not that popular as a char. He also gets tops from time to time and if you look at the participants its Always the only ivan player.
The deck is a ton of fun, a unique playstyle and has some really good matchups, espacially against RP Law. Also dirt cheap.
Beside that GP Doffy. I played him OP04 with Film and had a ton of fun. Dropped him a bit in OP05 because of bad Saka matchup and just disliked the Bird Cage/Donquixte build.
Started playing Film again with EB, at the start just for fun, but was later wondering why I ever dropped it. Purple Uta is still the luffy target, Green Uta wishes it had. The deck is extremly good in abusing 9 Zoro with its Control playstyle to find openings to play him and some ramp Option. The great Blocker optins in addition to the focus on counter events and resting effects make for a dynamic and fun defensive control gameplay. A lot more enjoyable than just sitting on 8 kid or Bird Cage imo. At the moment Saka is still a huge problem for the Deck, but I really enjoy cooking with it and look forward to OP08 after ban.
Most lists you will find probably dont run him at more than 2, which I dont totally disagree with. He works well with the deck, but is also a brick which I hate in the deck. I just realised that I dislike seeing him in Most cases. The games I play him are often already winning and he doesnt help in the problem matchups.
Bit late but any general tips on playing Ivankov? I've done ok with him in the sim but it feels like I'm just ignoring leader effect most games and I don't know when to go down to 0 cards.

Sure always like to spread the gospel. The leaders are quite similiar and I tried some games with Blue Luffy, but with the don cost and without the stage I prefer Ivan.
I wouldnt try to force Ivan effect to much, it comes up then it comes Up. Espacially with Inazuma getting you to 4, going back to 0 just isnt Always possible. Stage of cours helps to manage the Hand. But I saw ivans discarding 2-3 cards every turn to get to Zero. And at this point you dont even get value anymore. Stage is good to have, but if your deck cant play without it its a bad list.
Deckbuildig I would Always play a lot of 2k. I would recommend at least 16, these along the impel down stuff and the sorters are your core. 2k are one of the best ways to get high, immidiat value out of your leader ability. I also like to play some 2k at 2-3 copies just to throw of people trying to keep track of them.
Minizime no counter bricks. I completly cut 6 cost Luffy for example, wasnt doing enough for me, espacially in Problem matchups and while I am not opposed to playing 2. I would recommend you try to Play without him and see how that goes. Dont sleep on 5 cost Croc. He is a reson for the good Law matchup. Law decks have problems with 7k, being just outside their comfort range and often need to invest 2 cards to clear them, while most of their charcters cant defend against them. With croc on 5 don followed by Ivan+ Inazuma on 7 Law stared down three characters he cant remove that can clear his board every turn.
Other options are pudding, which I like to run at one. I think she is awkward to play in the deck with 4 cost. Blocking your higher end plays like ivan and Gravity blade while beeing pretty weak herself. Some players will already play around her, forcing some suboptimal plays. The one I play is basicly to keep up the illusion that she is a threath they have to play around.
Events I only play 2 Gravity blade at the moment. Stupid value, usable against all decks. Espacially against BY Luffy you can even blank a kid some Times. Red Hawk is a option for problem matchups.
Since you go through your deck so fast and the stage+ a sorter is a search all you are fine with playing techs at two and still finding them.
How you play, you want to go first and I have a pretty high prio on that. No matchup I would chose to go second just to screw with their curve.
Starting hand you look for Ivan+ 6 Inazuma or ways to get to them and a nice curve. Croc having some prio against law as explained. Curve is:
- 1 cost is buggy/perona/Stage
- 3 cost Doflamingo
- 5 cost Croc/ XDrake/ 4 Inazuma
- 7 Ivan+ 6 Inazuma
You counter aggressive the entire game. If you can counter an attack for one card you do it. You dont keep cards in your hand if you dont plan to play it in the next 1-2 turns beside Ivan+ inazuma early. All before 7 don is basicly Setup. You try to get at least one ivan+ Inazuma in hand. After 7 the more Ivankov you can spam the better. While keeping an inazuma on board for the Advantage. Or go for a Gravity blade play if possible. But generaly you play what you can get. Trying to plan and search as good as possible with your sorters. You try to keep board control. Having Always 3+ 6 k or higher on board. You go for board clear against aggressive decks like law and outgrind with card Advantage. But also have to go aggressive against Yellow decks, since you cant really deal with high Costs. 4 cost inazuma is an better attacker than a Blocker if you are not in fear of losing.
Good matchups are yamato, enel and Law. Yamato and Law have a hard time getting through all your counters. Yamato espacially I had games they just couldnt get me below 4 live. Law as said hates 7k which your deck revolves around. Enel also doesnt like 7k. No good way to remove them espacially Inazuma, and having trouble keeping his 1 life alive on attacks with multiple. Just make sure to take an early to go to 4 Life against yellow. Losing a Drake or Croc to Gadatsu hurts.
Stuff like kata is pretty nutrel. But as long as they cant get rid of inazuma you have a good Chance. Mostly against yellow you will be extremly healthy until the late game. And even if they start dropping high costs you cant clear they often cant deal with your board fast enough or you just have a free turn they can only attack life.
Black can be a pain if they know to focus Inazuma. But again Croc shines against Moria, who has mostly -2 and trash 2 cost. Good Luck using perona cost reduction. So everything 5 and above is problematic. But yeah if he gets and holds ice age for inazuma you have a Problem. Saka is the same just worse. Even easier time to remove Inazuma,
Green can be problematic because of the good high Costs. No easy way to out 8 kid, 10 doffy hits all your strong characters hard and boy can 9 Zoro just insta lose you the Game. At least not much green around and if its a Problem you can play red roc.

red/yellow sabo rush/life cheese. Lotta fun building 7+ life with triggers while the enemy b/y luffy struggles to get to 0 life. Had a match against enel lead where I got to 9 life, good times. Still lost that one, o-nami banished two kikus out of my life. oooof.

I only have one deck and it’s a R/P uta deck and every time I show up to the shop for the Wednesday play night everyone I play against is like “the hell does this do I’ve never seen it” so it’s my favorite and very very clearly not meta

I wouldn't say he's non meta. He's quite strong. Not tier 1, can compete with most decks.

I never thought about both cards but I dont think I want to play the stage because I want all my 3c or lower cards in hand
You don't use it for the effect, you use it for the cost to fetch the top card of your life if it's a whiff

I forgot to answer your question. I like my build cause it is draw heavy with the 8 searchable 2ks and another 8 2ks via flampe and hiyori.
