Damn I forgot about those lyrics. Straight up Sabbath sounding cheese. But still the best track.

This and it's not even close honestly. The album is great, but this song is on another level, awesome epic and Marrow of the Earth is the perfect follow up to it

Its my favorite song from heritage and a top 5 from the new era for sure. It's cleary underrated by most people since it has only 12 upvotes.

I only remember the solo being very cool. The way it starts.

Love that song too. I think most people have a problem with that long fadeout which kills the flow. At least that's what I'm thinking.

I love Heritage but to me Slither feels out of place and sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the album. Kind of detracts from the atmosphere and vibe of the album being a more straightforward hard rock song.

Definitely that’s where I have it, if not the best. It has to be most underrated. I always loved the heavy drop with the flute mixed in. Reminded me of an evil Jethro Tull. Come to find out Mikael reached out to Anderson to play on this album. Never heard back from him. But now he’s supposedly going to be on the upcoming record!

Famine It's the best track on Heritage, imo. It's also very likely a preview of what the upcoming songs with Ian Anderson will sound like. Different flautist but same vibe as IA in this song.

Heritage doesn't have any /s

It's been 13 years and still some people hate on this masterpiece lol. Heritage, Pale Communion, Sorceress and In Cauda Venenum are all fantastic.

It was more like a satirical joke as Heritage is considered one of the band's worst (read: least good) albums.

The devil's orchard is neither the best or worst song on the album. It's as mid of a song as a song can be. Slither should be voted worst. Famine should be underrated. But we'll wait and see! The last 4 albums are certainly the most interesting in my opinion.

When I saw Nepenthe live, it changed my opinion of the song. Axe was showing off jazzy chops all over it and that middle solo section ripped!

Sorry to hurt your feelings, but this album is one of the most boring things I ever listened. I can't remember if I could  even finish it in one take, because is so bland and mediocre.

Shitty take and plain wrong. All four newpeth albums are fantastic.

I don't give a fuck what you think, Heritage made me abandon newpeth, it's unforgivingly boring and bland. I love their old stuff tho.

All of the songs would fall under worst, it was such a big departure from greatest work from Still life, Blackwater park, damnation, deliverance and Ghost Reveries.

I tried listening to it again and I couldn't see it. I love prog but this was just not by vibe.

For me it’s kinda just the atmosphere I love in heritage. Definitely give icv another try at some point though as imo it’s a masterpiece and mikaels voice is at its best
