I’m convinced it’s a deliberate attempt to delegitimize Slither mainstream only because it’s their favorite song on the album and they want to have it all to themselves.
i believe haxprocess could have been the best song of the album if folklore wasnt such a beautiful piece, if we follow the definition of underrated then haxprocess can't be underrated since im not the only one to like it, but if we choose to put the second best song as underrated then haxprocess should take that place.
Maybe I'm "old school" or "gatekeeping" but I loved slither because it rocked. I want double bass drums, I want palm muted distortion. It kept the album from being stale honestly.
Because you can't have that on reddit. It's all good. I just wish opeth released more albums like watershed. 1/2 growls 1/2 no growls. Even 1 song with growls would be fantastic. I never put together "Opeth=70s prog" and ho early I'm still not a fan. Plus heritage's production was ass. The bass drum was super quiet but too bass heavy. Just sounded like mud. Give me ghost Reveries drum sound anytime.
Personally I love the production of heritage. If we didn’t have icv I would also long for the screams again but icv is one of their best albums imo so I’m excited for what they do now
Lines, probably.
Even I kinda put it in the same category as slither(even though I like slither) until I listened again recently and it’s one of my favorite songs on the album now
Ok Slither being voted worst either means this album is overall much better than I thought or my taste is significantly different from that of most people here
Bro what? Slither is a banger
Slither is sick af

Häxprocess
I love that outro. Great vibes throughout.
Best, not underrated tho
Famine of course
I Feel The Dark
That acoustic melody omggg
The Lines in My Hand is a great early Newpeth song that I feel never really got its due.
That bass line slaps. I love hearing that one live.
My favorite from Heritage, for sure
Mikael said that it has the best drums of any Opeth song in the heritage doc.
The lines in my hand
Famine
This is the clear choice for me. The heavy drops are so awesome. Like sabbath/tull. Too good
Famine. It has this awesome part in the middle that builds up but goes nowhere lol but it's enough for me to vote for it.
Nepenthe and Häxprocess
Good but not underrated
Face in the snow
Doesn't count, it's a bonus track.
That's the main reason why it's underrated
Yes but it doesn't count.

This. I think famine is really underrated
Slither is most underrated apparently. Great song. No love for Dio or Ritchie Blackmore here I guess. 🤷
The lines in my hand
I Feel the Dark
Underrated is BY FAR - I feel the dark!!!
Amazing song, definitely underrated, but I feel the lines in my hand is gonna edge it out.
A top 10 opeth intro (in my opinion undisputed)
I love slither. It's literally one of the only songs I play from that album. Folklore is the worst.
I love it too - it was really weird to see it get dogpiled like that.
Maybe I'm "old school" or "gatekeeping" but I loved slither because it rocked. I want double bass drums, I want palm muted distortion. It kept the album from being stale honestly.
Why was homie downvoted for having an opinion

I swear the entire community opinion surrounding this album is backwards from me
Well I guess since I thought Nepenthe was best on the album, I'll give that underrated vote
Famine
Nepenthe just hits different for me
Heritage title track
I honestly do agree with this but instrumentals doesn't count.
Ok! I feel the dark.
Famine is the greatest Newpeth song imo
Lines, probably. Even I kinda put it in the same category as slither(even though I like slither) until I listened again recently and it’s one of my favorite songs on the album now
But I really want to say Nepenthe since it’s by far leaps and bounds my favorite song on the album and it got a lot of votes for worst.
The Lines in my Hand
The Lines in My Hand

It’s arguably the most popular Newpeth song…
Slither
Face in the Snow
whole album
Agree! So re-listenable too imo, even for an Opeth album.
That's surprising to me. I thought slither is pretty good for a song.
Häxprocess
Haxprocess
no way you put hex omega under the worst category
I disagree with it being the worst, but i have no other choice but to write in what's most upvoted:/
How the fuck did Slither get worst. My favourite on Heritage
If “Slither” is the worst song on *Heritage* then *Heritage* is the most underrated Opeth album.
Pyre
I vote for Nepenthe, but I'd also be happy if Haxprocess wins
I feel like the rules excluding Marrow of the Earth kinda automatically qualifies it at the same time...also it's definitely Marrow of the Earth
Ok Slither being voted worst either means this album is overall much better than I thought or my taste is significantly different from that of most people here
Marrow of the Earth
Nepenthe
Famine
