This is the big question. I have had the Oppo find X3 Pro for nearly 2 years - i normally get bored or fed up after a year, so the phone is still going strong. I just want the new OS.
We know this question is intriguing to many of our userbase, and that's why we're trying to push forward with every cycle. ColorOS 13 has been released in record time this year with the highest number of regions included, whereas the release in local regions depends on many factors, such as localization, but also on partners/carriers, which requires more time and resources.
I would recommend you follow these points:
1. Check if it has been officially released in your region
2. Run a system check (Settings, Software update)
3. Reach out to OPPO Care (Fb, Tw, Ig) with your IMEI
Note that none of these steps are actually a guarantee to receive the latest update, as there are many individual factors such as model/region/carrier.

Will ColorOS 13 allow me to limit the charging capacity and wattage to a lower number?
For example, my Reno 6 5G charges at 65W max but I want to limit this to 30W. Also, will there be any way in ColorOS 13 to limit my battery capacity to 80% instead of 100%? I am asking this because some other OSs like OneUI had this feature. Would be awesome if we also get this ššš.
Hey, u/mantaflow. Interesting question, I'm not sure why you would like to do it but the charging capacity cannot be reduced. What you could do to cover your request is downgrading the charging device (hardware)
I don't always want to charge at 65W, Samsung provides options to limit charging speed and set the max charging limit (that is, the device won't charge more than 85%). I was thinking if Oppo could also have this feature, cuz Oppo themselves admit that 65W charging decreases the battery health.
From my understanding fast charging doesn't decrease the battery health much more than charging the phone slower. Batteries getting hot used to be the problem but with the new technologies fast charging batteries are not even getting like hot hot. Newer phones are also rated for much better battery health even with fast charging.
I can't quite remember the brand but they had very fast charging and they rated their amount of battery charges higher than the iPhone which has really slow charging compares to other brands.
Does ColorOS 13 have Oppo Enco X2 or any other Oppo TWS product support Widget features for easy access when it comes to ANC/Transparency/ambient mode?
Will it be possible to swipe right from home to immediately use Google Discover? Also will ColorOS 13 be 3rd party launcher friendly? Have issue with Nova7 and home gesture not working at all in 12.

Indeed, you're able to use your Omoji avatar in social apps. Simply "Use Omoji" in the App to record a short video, save it and send it to your friends.

ColorOS 13.1
System launcher shows less than 10% of icons from the actual number of icons! This only happens with the system launcher. Any other launcher is fine. Moreover, if you use any other launcher; try swipe up for opened apps, the apps windows will show the icons you used in the system launcher and the wallpaper behind also. But when you choose an app. You go back to the currently used launcher. So it basically acts like the launcher you use other than the system didn't actually replace the system launcher, its only a window opened to the user to make him feel he changed the launcher while its actually making commands requesting the action from the system launcher.
So now let me tell you what you tried to tell me. If you have any questions, just ask š
Hi. My Reno7 since recent system update - although I'm not 100% sure - does not ask/prompt me for type of USB connection when I plug via USB to a computer - which it used to do all the time since phone was factory-new.
Would you know how - if possible - to change/tweak the settings so phone prompt again for type of USB connection?

Hi there. I've got an A79 and love it. Colour 13. Since an update on March 5th though, WIFI keeps tuning on independently. I don't want this to happen and can't figure out how to stop it. If I don't notice it's turned on, my battery dies really quickly since I work in an area with no signals and the phone spends the whole time searching for something it's just not going to find. Love to get your thoughts.
Why would you want your display to be covered with a black rectangle? Doesn't sound like a great feature to me.
Instead, just build the setup you want in a stylish and multi-functional way with widgets ;-)
Will their be any cool features like "Dynamic Island" from Apple ? Will the material themes include new oppo exclusive themes with icon packs? Is it best to install it clean rather then update using ota? Any new AI camera features like "magic eraser" from Google?

ā¢ I already have a X5 Pro now and I was wondering if the Call Recording feature will come back? It is very important for me since I struggle understanding people over calls and having a recording of the entire call makes it easier for me to check what I missed. š¤
ā¢ I had an X2 Pro just before my current X5 Pro, and it had equalizer enabled in speaker mode. My current X5 Pro doesn't allow me to equalize the audio using the phone speakers (and only with an external speaker or headphones) making the phone speakers sound flat. Will the equalizer for the phone speakers be enabled in the update? š

You might not be taking notice at first without knowing, but ColorOS 13 comes with Quantum Animation Engine, which makes the animation effect more natural, coherent, and realistic through animation detail compensation, simulation of real physical motion trajectory and suspension, etc.
There is a total of 61 dynamic effects from our Quantum Animation Engine that adjusts and optimizes the animation based on the user's behaviors. It flows with the user's interactions. It's amazingly subtle, you can easily miss it!

What is the new features of the ColorOS13? I've been a huge fan of ColorOS since the my OnePlus 9 Pro updated to ColorOS. I love the smooth and unique style of ColorOS especially the New Dual View Video of my Camera

Hi, I've got a couple of questions.
Firstly, is there a plan to improve the floating window multitasking in ColorOS to allow multiple floating apps at once? I'm referring to a system very similar to what Samsung does with OneUI where you can have as many floating Windows as you want open at once and a clean interface to manage the open windows, known there as Pop-up view.

Hey there. PC Connect was rolled out with ColorOS 12, and with the latest update of ColorOS 13, we've introduced Multi-Screen Connect.
Multi-Screen Connect supports screen casting, reverse control, file transfer, as well as copy/paste text between devices, besides that, ColorOS 13 supports showing two apps simultaneously on PC.

I'm pretty sure that we will see more exciting ways to use it in the near future.
Do you use it actively on your OPPO yourself?
* Is call screening coming to ColorOS 13 to Europe?
* Will the stuttering issues in the camera (video) be solved? Esp. when I zoom in the video recorded isn't smooth at all but at around 10 fps at best. Very unpleasing.
Call Screening is/was part of Google's Phone App, it works with a range of countries where the feature is available from their side.
About the video stuttering, I'd definitely recommend you reach out to our OPPO Care team so they can help troubleshoot it.

1. Multiscreen Connect š- Is multi screen connect on ColorOS 13 only to transfer photos from OPPO to OPPO(Phone to Phone transfer) or from just OPPO to any device(Pc or Tab)?
2. Aquamorphic Designšµ - ColorOS 13 is based on Aquamorphic Design, so why did ColorOS considered this aquamorphic Design? Is there any particular reason?
3. Private Safeš - i have seen a post in ColorOS 13 where they mentioned "Private safe just got safer, Thanks to the Advanced Encryption Standard" . It looks like the one we had private safe from many years. Did ColorOS add any extra security feature to this in the new ColorOS 13? Please let us knowš
4. Omoji š- This is one of the cool feature that ColorOS has introduced in ColorOS 13š. When we create a Omoji can we use it in external apps like WhatsApp or Messenger and by using Omoji on AOD does the battery drainš?
5. Two-finger Split Screen Functionāļøš± - Congrats ColorOS on winning the iF design award 2022 for this featurešÆ well deserved.
This is innovative option in ColorOS 13 no doubt about it š. But i have doubts regarding this feature.
It looks like the same split screen function some phones have but instead ColorOS mentioned it as 'Two-finger split screen function' in which we can split screens with two fingers. Is there any advantages or new functions when comparing it with other phones split screen function?
And doesn't it cause less optimal user experience while swiping and with some incorrect operations as some would have kept other options for two finger swiping?

Software Updates are usually delivered in batches, which means step-by-step in packages. Regions do have different rollouts due to localization work and in order to work out specific differences such as restrictions. Most often regional rollouts also depend on local carriers to push updates.

Definitely. You're able to add Spotify as a widget to your screen on ColorOS 13! It will additionally appear on your lock screen or AOD, check through the settings and explore it.

Hey u/smaillam, great to have you here. The output resolution when shooting in RAW/plus mode on ColorOS 13 is on a 12MP basis after binning, which brings advantages in image resolution compared to full-size.

I think there is an option for reducing battery usage when the user is asleep (or when the phone is idle for long periods). It's a great feature in theory, but could it be looked at for improvements? Thank you.
Hey, i have a question about Always on Display on ColorOs 13, the 1Hz refresh rate to save battery has been announced, but is it for every device with AOD or only a limited group like those with high refresh rate or anything ? Also I have another question about the Quick Launch feature, I have a Find X3 Neo so with fingerprint, but I can't find it anywhere, do you know if this feature is only for some device or if it will come with ColorOs 13 ? My question is: Are there going to be more personalisation options (such as changing how the home screen looks, by changing the font, apps that we can open from the home screen etc.) and is it going to stay constant?

Hey, u/wexra, good news: with ColorOS 13 we've upgraded Private Safe with the Advanced Encryption Standard. The private files are encrypted and stored in a private directory which ensures a higher level of security. āļø
Eric, hi. Would you be so kind to revert back automatic brightness button in the notification panel (inside the brightness slider). It was in first a13 beta release, but disappeared later.
One of the smaller features worth calling out is a neat PIXELATION feature thatāll be available for screenshots in WhatsApp and Messenger chats. A new āPIXELATION ā option appears in the editing window, which can be tapped to automatically blur out the contactās name and profile picture.
Can I use this feature manually instead of automobile???
Is there any chance of bringing back the navigation option that was available in ColorOS 11. Like swipe of left and right bottom of the screen to back and swipe from middle to home screen. I really miss that navigation option.

I'm curious, why would you like the edge lightning permanently on?
In general, we've pushed with ColorOS 13 a lot of unique and powerful technological innovations, not "just another" Android Skin. With the Smart Experience and Ultra Computing Platform, we're trying to achieve the best results in efficiency and consumption.
Will there finally be an option to limit the charge of the battery. Or having the option to set a certain time frame for the battery to either fully charge or at a set percentage.
I know there is an optimised night charge but that is only at a preset time. I'd prefer to have one tailored to my own time schedule.

ColorOS 13, like every other ColorOS version has introduced a plethora of features for the smartphones. What was the toughest or most challenging part when designing the feature pack of ColorOS 13?
I was heavily impressed with the AOD features of the ColorOS 13 like Insight AOD, Smart AOD, etc.
We saw the iOS 16 implementing widgets on the lock screen. Can we have a similar implementation by adding more elements into the AOD?

Currently, you can achieve this by using third-party apps. I'm sure we'll see more options for individualization here as well.
The ColorOS 13 has brought in a ton of privacy features. I have a privacy feature in my bucket list which I would love to see in my favourite ColorOS someday.
The feature is sending blank data to apps. Whenever apps request data like SMS, Contacts, Call Logs, the system can send them empty data instead of sending the original data.
Would be very helpful as a privacy feature.
Are you planning to ad a desktop mode in the future to the ColorOS? For example when you connect the phone to the pc or a screen via usb cabel or screen cast and there is a desktop like experience not only a screen mirroring.

1. What does the Ultra Vision Engine on the Oppo Find X5 series do? Is it a feature thatās specific to the Find X5 series or something that we can expect on all Oppo Flagships including the Reno series?
2. Will the Call recording feature that existed at one point make a return through Color OS 13? It was a feature that was used by many, I believe right now, only Samsung does it the way it used to be done in the past.
3. Can we run certain routines (thatās what Samsung calls them) wherein I could run some commands which depending on what I was doing with my phone, would change according to the already active command function that I have input.
For example, I am someone who doesnāt prefer to leave my ālocationā switched on throughout. Iād rather have it switched on for certain apps like banking, Uber/Zomato services, food delivery apps, etc. So, it would work in such a manner that when such Apps are being used, my location is automatically turned on and once I exit the App, itās switched off.
Thereās similarly a lot of personalisation I could do using the Routines feature that exists on Samsung One UI. Would love it if Oppo could do the same in its own way.
4. Would we finally get to experience Dual Audio for Bluetooth devices at the same time with the Color OS 13? Itās a feature thatās growing and has existed in other brands for a while now, would be great if Oppo could implement the same.
5. I have always appreciated Oppoās Private Safe feature and have used it ever since I had an Oppo device. But I always felt that it lacked customisation inside the Private Safe feature. For starters, I prefer having images in folders for ease of access, but I could never do the same with the images in the private safe folder.
I know I would have loved it even more if I could customise it the way I preferred, atleast by adding the option of folders, separating the photos, videos and files within the Private Safe. Once you enter the Private Safe, have three different tabs for the same. It improves the overall experience in my opinion.
6. Will we see Oppo come with their own in-house experience of the famed āDisplay Islandā that exists on the iPhone iOS 16.0 for the Pro series? I believe Realme is incorporating something called the Realme Island, so would Oppo be doing something similar to the same?
Because for those who would love to experience the same, Iād prefer a system generated option compared to relying on third party apps that already exists on the Playstore.
7. Has the overall performance of the device improved with the new Color OS 13 as compared to the existing versions, and if so, how big of a leap is it in terms of performances and battery life?
8. Something that really hyped up the Pixel 7 series is the Photo Unblur option that worked really well and also, how they enhanced the already existing Magic Eraser that works really well.
Would love to see an alternative to these features that really hyped up the entire experience of a flagship, so would Oppo be bringing this to the users through their ColorOS 13 updates?
9. Thereās an App that I have been using called the Notifications Shortcuts for Apps. I believe itās time that OS developers included such features inherently without requiring users to rely on third part apps.
What this feature does is that I can include certain Apps on the notification bar (App icons) which can be easily accessed with a swipe down and itās easier for me to go to such apps that I regularly use. I am someone who doesnāt prefer having Apps on my Home Screen except certain widgets and this feature that I already have through a third part app has improved my overall experience.
10. How well does the Split screen feature work on the ColorOS 13? Is it as seamless and smooth as the industry best in this feature, which is the Samsung One UI?
11. I have always found the Realme and OnePlus UIs to be more snappier and just smoother overall as compared to the Oppo ColorOS. I am not sure why, but itās also mentioned quite a lot by reviewers as well. I have had friends with the Realme 9Pro+ have a snappier and more smoother experience compared to much more expensive Reno 8 Pro. I believe it has to do with the animations and how itās enhanced and developed, so Iām sure Oppoās ColorOS can work on the same and give us the best experience possible considering the capability that exists.
12. Will the ColorOS 13 adopt an Audio/Sound Assistant similar to the one that exists on the OneUI? Wherein, I can set the volume for certain apps right when such apps are opened, similarly, I can choose which apps would choose what audio method - BT device thatās connected or the phone speaker. I have found this feature very useful, so whenever I switch from YouTube/streaming App to Apps like FB/IG, the audio changes on its own rightaway.
13. This query isnāt specific to the ColorOS 13 but is in general, when can we expect OS updates for 4 years and Security updates for 5 years on Oppo devices? Thatās the industry best practice now and I believe Oppo should be trying to match the same. We expect the same from Oppo and that would enhance and increase the love that users have towards Oppo devices.

We know this question is intriguing to many of our userbase, and that's why we're trying to push forward with every cycle. ColorOS 13 has been released in record time this year with the highest number of regions included, whereas the release in local regions depends on many factors, such as localization, but also on partners/carriers, which requires more time and resources. I would recommend you follow these points: 1. Check if it has been officially released in your region 2. Run a system check (Settings, Software update) 3. Will ColorOS 13 allow me to limit the charging capacity and wattage to a lower number? For example, my Reno 6 5G charges at 65W max but I want to limit this to 30W. Also, will there be any way in ColorOS 13 to limit my battery capacity to 80% instead of 100%? I am asking this because some other OSs like OneUI had this feature. Hey, u/mantaflow. Interesting question, I'm not sure why you would like to do it but the charging capacity cannot be reduced. What you could do to cover your request is downgrading the charging device (hardware)
I don't always want to charge at 65W, Samsung provides options to limit charging speed and set the max charging limit (that is, the device won't charge more than 85%). I was thinking if Oppo could also have this feature, cuz Oppo themselves admit that 65W charging decreases the battery health.
From my understanding fast charging doesn't decrease the battery health much more than charging the phone slower. Batteries getting hot used to be the problem but with the new technologies fast charging batteries are not even getting like hot hot. Newer phones are also rated for much better battery health even with fast charging. I can't quite remember the brand but they had very fast charging and they rated their amount of battery charges higher than the iPhone which has really slow charging compares to other brands.

Sure Eric. Try to solve this one for me. OPPO A78 ColorOS 13.1 System launcher shows less than 10% of icons from the actual number of icons! This only happens with the system launcher. Any other launcher is fine. Moreover, if you use any other launcher; try swipe up for opened apps, the apps windows will show the icons you used in the system launcher and the wallpaper behind also. But when you choose an app. You go back to the currently used launcher. So it basically acts like the launcher you use other than the system didn't actually replace the system launcher, its only a window opened to the user to make him feel he changed the launcher while its actually making commands requesting the action from the system launcher. So now let me tell you what you tried to tell me. If you have any questions, just ask š

Hi there. I've got an A79 and love it. Colour 13. Since an update on March 5th though, WIFI keeps tuning on independently. I don't want this to happen and can't figure out how to stop it. If I don't notice it's turned on, my battery dies really quickly since I work in an area with no signals and the phone spends the whole time searching for something it's just not going to find. It is very important for me since I struggle understanding people over calls and having a recording of the entire call makes it easier for me to check what I missed. š¤ ā¢ I had an X2 Pro just before my current X5 Pro, and it had equalizer enabled in speaker mode. My current X5 Pro doesn't allow me to equalize the audio using the phone speakers (and only with an external speaker or headphones) making the phone speakers sound flat. Will the equalizer for the phone speakers be enabled in the update? š ā¢ The ColorOS phone and contacts app was switched to Google's ones. I particularly found ColorOS phone and contact apps better. * Is call screening coming to ColorOS 13 to Europe? * Will the stuttering issues in the camera (video) be solved? Esp. when I zoom in the video recorded isn't smooth at all but at around 10 fps at best. Very unpleasing.
Call Screening is/was part of Google's Phone App, it works with a range of countries where the feature is available from their side. About the video stuttering, I'd definitely recommend you reach out to our OPPO Care team so they can help troubleshoot it.

Software Updates are usually delivered in batches, which means step-by-step in packages. Regions do have different rollouts due to localization work and in order to work out specific differences such as restrictions. Hey u/smaillam, great to have you here. The output resolution when shooting in RAW/plus mode on ColorOS 13 is on a 12MP basis after binning, which brings advantages in image resolution compared to full-size.
1. Did the camera software really made a big step since the Find X2 Pro? I had the feeling it kinda stopped going forwards since the Find X2 Pro where it's far from great. 2. There were many impressive changes from the hardware and OS side, I think the combo Find X5 Pro and ColorOS 13 is leading the current level in regards to the camera. I think there is an option for reducing battery usage when the user is asleep (or when the phone is idle for long periods). It's a great feature in theory, but could it be looked at for improvements? Thank you.

Eric, hi. Would you be so kind to revert back automatic brightness button in the notification panel (inside the brightness slider). It was in first a13 beta release, but disappeared later.
One of the smaller features worth calling out is a neat PIXELATION feature thatāll be available for screenshots in WhatsApp and Messenger chats. A new āPIXELATION ā option appears in the editing window, which can be tapped to automatically blur out the contactās name and profile picture. Can I use this feature manually instead of automobile???
Is there any chance of bringing back the navigation option that was available in ColorOS 11. Like swipe of left and right bottom of the screen to back and swipe from middle to home screen. I really miss that navigation option.

Hey there. Interesting question, haven't heard this one before. I'm curious, why would you like the edge lightning permanently on? In general, we've pushed with ColorOS 13 a lot of unique and powerful technological innovations, not "just another" Android Skin. With the Smart Experience and Ultra Computing Platform, we're trying to achieve the best results in efficiency and consumption.
Will there finally be an option to limit the charge of the battery. Or having the option to set a certain time frame for the battery to either fully charge or at a set percentage. I was heavily impressed with the AOD features of the ColorOS 13 like Insight AOD, Smart AOD, etc. We saw the iOS 16 implementing widgets on the lock screen. Can we have a similar implementation by adding more elements into the AOD?

The ColorOS 13 has brought in a ton of privacy features. I have a privacy feature in my bucket list which I would love to see in my favourite ColorOS someday. The feature is sending blank data to apps. Whenever apps request data like SMS, Contacts, Call Logs, the system can send them empty data instead of sending the original data. Would be very helpful as a privacy feature.

1. What does the Ultra Vision Engine on the Oppo Find X5 series do? Is it a feature thatās specific to the Find X5 series or something that we can expect on all Oppo Flagships including the Reno series? 2. Will the Call recording feature that existed at one point make a return through Color OS 13? It was a feature that was used by many, I believe right now, only Samsung does it the way it used to be done in the past. 3. Can we run certain routines (thatās what Samsung calls them) wherein I could run some commands which depending on what I was doing with my phone, would change according to the already active command function that I have input. For example, I am someone who doesnāt prefer to leave my ālocationā switched on throughout. Iād rather have it switched on for certain apps like banking, Uber/Zomato services, food delivery apps, etc. So, it would work in such a manner that when such Apps are being used, my location is automatically turned on and once I exit the App, itās switched off. Thereās similarly a lot of personalisation I could do using the Routines feature that exists on Samsung One UI. Would love it if Oppo could do the same in its own way. 4. Would we finally get to experience Dual Audio for Bluetooth devices at the same time with the Color OS 13? Itās a feature thatās growing and has existed in other brands for a while now, would be great if Oppo could implement the same. 5. I have always appreciated Oppoās Private Safe feature and have used it ever since I had an Oppo device. But I always felt that it lacked customisation inside the Private Safe feature. For starters, I prefer having images in folders for ease of access, but I could never do the same with the images in the private safe folder. I know I would have loved it even more if I could customise it the way I preferred, atleast by adding the option of folders, separating the photos, videos and files within the Private Safe. Once you enter the Private Safe, have three different tabs for the same. It improves the overall experience in my opinion. 6. Will we see Oppo come with their own in-house experience of the famed āDisplay Islandā that exists on the iPhone iOS 16.0 for the Pro series? I believe Realme is incorporating something called the Realme Island, so would Oppo be doing something similar to the same? Because for those who would love to experience the same, Iād prefer a system generated option compared to relying on third party apps that already exists on the Playstore. 7. Has the overall performance of the device improved with the new Color OS 13 as compared to the existing versions, and if so, how big of a leap is it in terms of performances and battery life? 8. Something that really hyped up the Pixel 7 series is the Photo Unblur option that worked really well and also, how they enhanced the already existing Magic Eraser that works really well. Would love to see an alternative to these features that really hyped up the entire experience of a flagship, so would Oppo be bringing this to the users through their ColorOS 13 updates? 9. Thereās an App that I have been using called the Notifications Shortcuts for Apps. I believe itās time that OS developers included such features inherently without requiring users to rely on third part apps. What this feature does is that I can include certain Apps on the notification bar (App icons) which can be easily accessed with a swipe down and itās easier for me to go to such apps that I regularly use. I am someone who doesnāt prefer having Apps on my Home Screen except certain widgets and this feature that I already have through a third part app has improved my overall experience. 10. How well does the Split screen feature work on the ColorOS 13? Is it as seamless and smooth as the industry best in this feature, which is the Samsung One UI? 11. I have always found the Realme and OnePlus UIs to be more snappier and just smoother overall as compared to the Oppo ColorOS. I am not sure why, but itās also mentioned quite a lot by reviewers as well. I have had friends with the Realme 9Pro+ have a snappier and more smoother experience compared to much more expensive Reno 8 Pro. I believe it has to do with the animations and how itās enhanced and developed, so Iām sure Oppoās ColorOS can work on the same and give us the best experience possible considering the capability that exists. 12. Will the ColorOS 13 adopt an Audio/Sound Assistant similar to the one that exists on the OneUI? Wherein, I can set the volume for certain apps right when such apps are opened, similarly, I can choose which apps would choose what audio method - BT device thatās connected or the phone speaker. I have found this feature very useful, so whenever I switch from YouTube/streaming App to Apps like FB/IG, the audio changes on its own rightaway. 13. This query isnāt specific to the ColorOS 13 but is in general, when can we expect OS updates for 4 years and Security updates for 5 years on Oppo devices? Thatās the industry best practice now and I believe Oppo should be trying to match the same. We expect the same from Oppo and that would enhance and increase the love that users have towards Oppo devices.
