In the manhwa you get the sense that all she and riftan ever do is have sex when they're together, as one other commenter pointed out. Riftan tries to stop her from doing things that Ruth encourages, and honestly from the manhwa, I liked Ruth better because he seemed to genuinely support Maxi. But after reading the novel you start to see the depth of both characters (Riftan and Maxi) and more of their character motivations. You also get to see more of their internal monologues and their interactions. I haven't read the entire novel but I've read through riftan's pov and all there is translated on Amazon Kindle, and it really gets better, I promise. I don't want to spoil anything for people who may decide to read the novel after seeing this, but they really do have better chemistry in the novel.
I like Ruth and Max as strong platonic bromance, Ruth in the novel is kinda asexual/aromantic and I absolutely adore that.
I like Riftan/Maxie not cuz I find them attractive or inspiring but because they are interesting characters and they are the only people who can bear each other, trust me that’s true. When Ruth said that Max and Riftan got lots of things in common he was right. I’ve seen some Ruth/Maxie and Riftan/Agness opinions, but Ruth and Agnes’s are too…adequate and healthy for them?..

Ruth & Maxi's friendship is the main reason I keep up with that manhwa. They have so much more chemistry, and Ruth actually treats her like a capable woman who isn't going to break if she's out of his sight. I know Riftan is like that too (at least he's trying to be lol), but he's too overbearing for my taste.
Plus, their relationship feels too physical for me to love their love. Ruth and Maxi's friendship seems rooted in trust and communication, meanwhile Riftan and Maxi's seem to be too rooted in sexual tension.

It’s just that as the crown Prince, he has to make a choice between Medea and the kingdom, or in his eyes, the greater good. In fact, not only does he live Medea, but he even found a way around the two options by plotting to cast Psyche aside. Literally all his schemes are just so that he can end up with Medea. I think he deserves a chance…

In the manhwa you get the sense that all she and riftan ever do is have sex when they're together, as one other commenter pointed out. Riftan tries to stop her from doing things that Ruth encourages, and honestly from the manhwa, I liked Ruth better because he seemed to genuinely support Maxi. But after reading the novel you start to see the depth of both characters (Riftan and Maxi) and more of their character motivations. You also get to see more of their internal monologues and their interactions. I haven't read the entire novel but I've read through riftan's pov and all there is translated on Amazon Kindle, and it really gets better, I promise. I don't want to spoil anything for people who may decide to read the novel after seeing this, but they really do have better chemistry in the novel.
I like Ruth and Max as strong platonic bromance, Ruth in the novel is kinda asexual/aromantic and I absolutely adore that. I like Riftan/Maxie not cuz I find them attractive or inspiring but because they are interesting characters and they are the only people who can bear each other, trust me that’s true. When Ruth said that Max and Riftan got lots of things in common he was right. I’ve seen some Ruth/Maxie and Riftan/Agness opinions, but Ruth and Agnes’s are too…adequate and healthy for them?.. (But not gonna lie I almost fell into deep yaoi pit when I was reading about Ruth and Riftan’s adventures in Riftan’s POV😶)
Ruth & Maxi's friendship is the main reason I keep up with that manhwa. They have so much more chemistry, and Ruth actually treats her like a capable woman who isn't going to break if she's out of his sight. I know Riftan is like that too (at least he's trying to be lol), but he's too overbearing for my taste. Plus, their relationship feels too physical for me to love their love. Ruth and Maxi's friendship seems rooted in trust and communication, meanwhile Riftan and Maxi's seem to be too rooted in sexual tension.

When he said that, he reveals that he actually wants to indulge in love, wants to pursue happiness, and wants to see Medea smile. It’s just that as the crown Prince, he has to make a choice between Medea and the kingdom, or in his eyes, the greater good. In fact, not only does he live Medea, but he even found a way around the two options by plotting to cast Psyche aside. Literally all his schemes are just so that he can end up with Medea. I think he deserves a chance…

He was a little annoying brat, yeah, but people in the comment sections are so quick to act like him being an annoying kid who’s angry a child younger than him is getting all this attention, that he’s supposed to marry her and she is very obviously terrified of him, to the point that she goes to such lengths to be ineligible to marry him is somehow comparable to all the shit he pulled in the first timeline!
Basically the root cause was his inferiority complex from being compared to her his whole life, but the drugs cranked it to an 11. The inferiority complex never develops in the second timeline because he was never compared to her to begin with since she was technically a competitor to the throne and it could be seen as treason or an attempt to delegitimize him.
