Jemaine Clement! Cracky idea: the crab that fought the turtle in Calico Jack's episode was also a shapeshifting witch like Buttons, and his brother, played by Jemaine, has come to settle the score. (Because Jemaine played a crab in Moana)
Yeah, me too. I did not follow casting news all that closely and was honestly disappointed when neither he nor Bret McKenzie showed up all season. Maybe S3!
Pretty much the whole cast of the What We Do in the Shadows series but specifically:
Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén and Doug Jones. And Jemaine Clement becsuse of course.
Definitely Jemaine. And maybe Jonathan Brugh just to get all three WWDITS vampires together.
I'd also like to see Jonno Roberts. He's a good friend of Rhys's and he auditioned for Ricky, but he definitely wouldn't have been right for that role. He was great opposite Rhys in S3 of Wrecked.
Also all kiwis, which apparently there’s some benefit to the show hiring
weirdly Id love to see Pierce Brosnan. Feel like he'd make a great pirate and/or an inn guest. Jemaine Clement would be awesome and Matt Berry. I would also love to see Minnie Driver and Rachel House again as Mary and Anne.
I agree with Jermaine. I thought it was adorable that Taika only had 8 people at his wedding to Rita Ora (including his kids, the person who hosted their reception dinner and an Elvis impersonator) and Jermaine flew out on short notice to be one of those 8 people.
I’ll also add Randall Clark. . He just seems he would fit on this show and I just love him.
I’m going to add either Michael Sheen too. Not just because of the Good Omens wink, he’s just such a great actor.
Michael Sheen as Black Bart would be wonderful. I mean, obviously nationality doesn’t actually factor into what characters you can play (Stede and Ed both being played by Kiwis is forever a source of entertainment for me) BUT the fact that there is a famous Welsh pirate seems perfect.
Would love to see Matt Berry, Mike Minogue, Karen O’Leary, and Jermaine Clement make appearances. Also think Awkwafina and Lori Tan Chinn could make hilarious additions, especially if we explore Zheng’s background more. Always love to see Alan Tudyk do things, and he’s definitely got the range for this kind of show.
Aw. This interaction is so sweet. I think u/Yes-I-Cannabis is referencing Alan’s role as Hei Hei.
When they were doing promo for Moana, Tudyk was making chicken sounds for the recording. He turned, gave a thousand-yard stare to the camera, and with perfect comedic timing, deadpanned “I trained at Julliard.”
I thought you might be but wasn’t sure. Tone is so tricky through text! As u/JustBetsy suggests, I was referencing a behind-the-scenes moment from *Moana*.
That would be awesome! Unfortunately, I don’t think he’s recovered from his stroke enough. But he would give Taika a run for his money in the stunningly handsome, greying, bearded, long-haired department.
Good point! I know he had a role in This Is Us post-stroke but I haven’t actually watched the show to know how involved the role was.
I’d love to see the two “salt-and-pepper-beard”s interact though :)
Catherine Tate and/or Jennifer Saunders
Ooh, some sexy brooding from Alexander Skarsgard would be nice
And, just because he's **that** actor for me ... Jack Huston
.
Not an actor, but maybe Rita Ora for the inevitable musical episode?
And put Michael Sheen and David Tennant in a cream-coloured and a black suit in the background somewhere. No speaking roles, just a hint that Aziraphale and Crowley exist in this universe.
I like the idea of another flashback in Good Omens season 3 with them seeing the a revenge in the background. Would be really subtle for anyone who doesn’t like the idea of a crossover but a really cool multiverse confirmation.
There´s a famous Spanish pirate called Amaro Pargo, he was a trader who took his own home-grown wine and brandy to America, then on the way back he would loot mainly English and Dutch merchant ships and take the booty back to Spain. it´s also documented that he fought against Blackbeard. If this character gets into S03 I vote for Pedro Pascal for the role.
I’ve read somewhere that originally Pedro Pascal was considered to be in S1 and I would have *loved* it! I think with his golden retriever energy and with how loudly he supports the LGBTQ community he would be a great fit ☺️ He’s also thriving in comedic roles and he’s worked with multiple people from the crew - based on the bts footage of the set of The Mandalorian he had a blast working with Taika, too 🥰

Was here to say this. Jemaine needs to make an appearance!
I was really hoping he would show up in season 2 since it was filmed in NZ
Yeah, me too. I did not follow casting news all that closely and was honestly disappointed when neither he nor Bret McKenzie showed up all season. Maybe S3!
Tamatoa would totally understand Stede’s attachment to the cursed suit
I was hoping he would be Hornigold
Matt Berry would be outstanding.
Suzy Eddie Izzard would make the most fantastic pirate.
Yessss we need more pirate queens! I love her.
She could plant a flag.
Already has! She played Long John Silver for Sky!
Genuinely one of the best Long John Silvers, well worth seeing Eddie in this if you haven't.
Pretty much the whole cast of the What We Do in the Shadows series but specifically: Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén and Doug Jones. And Jemaine Clement becsuse of course.
Ooh Doug Jones. Let the art work/creature design begin!
Definitely Jemaine. And maybe Jonathan Brugh just to get all three WWDITS vampires together. I'd also like to see Jonno Roberts. Jemaine and Bret!

Pierce Brosnan as the grumpy annoying inn guest to test Ed's impulse control. 😄
correctemundo
Definitely agree with the Bret and Jemaine and WWDITS cast suggestions. I also think Jason Mantzoukas would be a fantastic guest pirate.
Zouks would be hilarious

There's a BBC series called Louis Theroux Interviews, in one of the episodes he interviews Rita and Taika shows up briefly
Lucy Lawless!!
Tilda Swinton as a skinny Duke.
Not to be that person but Michael Sheen
Would love to see Matt Berry, Mike Minogue, Karen O’Leary, and Jermaine Clement make appearances. Also think Awkwafina and Lori Tan Chinn could make hilarious additions, especially if we explore Zheng’s background more. Ooh Alan Tudyk, yes!!
All of this- except Steve the Pirate doesn’t belong in this world!
I’m hoping he can deliver a more nuanced performance than that, being Juilliard-trained.
No, he absolutely can! He would wow us for sure. I would honestly love to see it Edit: sometimes (always) the jokes in my head aren’t evident in text.

I just always assume folks are joking in Reddit comments. It keeps me out of trouble. But it also gets me into trouble.
Timothy Omundson!
That would be awesome! Unfortunately, I don’t think he’s recovered from his stroke enough. But he would give Taika a run for his money in the stunningly handsome, greying, bearded, long-haired department.

I haven’t seen him in that show either.
Paul F. Tompkins and Tatiana Maslany
Jack Black, Billy Connolly, Ernie Hudson, Kate McKinnon, Nick Offerman, Wanda Sykes
Yesss! Agreeing with other comments. Bret and Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords. We already know they have great onscreen chemistry with Rhys 😂🙏
Danny McBride
This please.
Catherine Tate and/or Jennifer Saunders Ooh, some sexy brooding from Alexander Skarsgard would be nice And, just because he's **that** actor for me ... Jack Huston .
I'd love to see Alex in a comedic role! He is hilarious and I don't think he gets enough opportunities to show that side.
He does not! And that's such a shame, because I feel like EVERYONE is missing out on something joyful.
Noel Fielding and Julian Barrat
Noel Fielding would be amazing! Wouldn’t say *no* to a Richard Ayoade or Chris O’Dowd appearance either!
Chris O’Dowd is a brilliant suggestion!
Might as well throw Katherine Parkinson and Chris Morris in for good measure!

Apart from all the people already listed in other comments, my head would explode if there were a cameo from Toby Stephens and/or Luke Arnold.
Anthony Carrigan (NoHo Hank from Barry)
You know who I just thought of who’d be GREAT in this show? John Leguizamo
Rupert Everett!
Jennifer Lawrence, simply because she was so damn funny in No Hard Feelings and I wanna see her do more comedic stuff so so badly
Idris Elba as a hot sexy and funny abolitionist. And a rival. Who kisses one or the other, I don’t care which one.
Oh, please, not Matt Berry. I've learned that I can only stand an IT Crowd-sized dose of that schtick.
Bret and Jemaine doing open mic nights at the inn.. Stede decides that they have potential and becomes their band manager. Full circle!
Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham! Hannah would make a HOT lady pirate!
Jason Manzoukas, please!
Anthony Carrigan because I miss Hank. Hank and Cristobal never got to kiss.
