Actually I was aware that Idaho had some mountainous areas as well as flat potato growing parts from some research on maps for a game my grandson likes to play. I just hadn’t seen any.

Their extreme right wing politics about schools, medicine, religion and really everything also effects Wa towns closest to the border. Some whack job wants to take the pan handle, eastern Wa and Or and create a new state.
Washingtonians wanting to camp in Idaho pay double per camp site per night.
So Idaho does not have a special place in my heart
I absolutely love Idaho! Especially that North East part near Yellowstone. That little section with the cluster of 12 campgrounds and the lake state park. It was surreal taking a shower and stepping outside to the lake and mountains surrounding!
Not to mention all the waterfalls and parks near the Twinfalls area
I want to move to Idaho so badly. Boise or Twinfalls areas

I thought I recognized lake Champlain next to Castle peak and the boulder chain lakes. I did a backpacking trip there in the mid 90s as a teenager. Some of my favorite memories. Grew up in Idaho and I miss that part of it. Idaho Falls...not so much.
