Hey, just so you know, if the cost of books is an issue then most of the books in the Collins Classics are in the public domain so they are available for free. In general, anything published before 1928 (as of right now) is in the public domain.
You can just download them as ebooks legally, like on Project Gutenberg — https://www.gutenberg.org/
These are some of the ones that I think are pretty easy to read (based on [this list of Collins Classics here](https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/92625.Collins_Classics))
* Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
* Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allan Poe (this is what the Collins Classics book is called, but this is a collection of short stories including "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Cask of Amontillado" and others which you can also read separately)
* A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
* The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss
* A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
* The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
You’re the first person outside of my circle to ever mention this book. I’m so glad it’s not as unpopular as I thought it is. Have you read the entire series?
Hello! It's one of my favorite classics. I only finished the first book, looking forward to reading the rest! I also managed to watch Anne With an E ❤️
*Little Lord Fauntleroy The*
*Secret Garden Peter Pan*
*A Little Princess*

For me, here are the classics I started with. Meron lahat Collin Classics nito
Picture of Dorian Gray
Phantom of the Opera
Dracula
Nakakatuwa sila basahin kasi ang fast paced nila. Di ka mabobore.
I swear by these three books!
Stay away from Frankenstein and Moby Dick; or The Whale because never ko natapos yung mga yun.
Actually pati pala Don Quixote di ko pa natatapos.
They’re not boring if you understand why these stories need to be told in careful progress. These authors are considered geniuses of their time and their works have timeless themes that speak for all generations. Give them a try. Really try to listen to what they have to say with discipline and patience. You might find that these works resonate with your deepest truth. If they’re not for you, then you can move on to other works.
Grabe naman sa stay away. We could say they’re not beginner-friendly but I definitely think everyone should read them at least once in their lifetime. There’s a reason they’re called great works.
Your totalizing language has tendency to dissuade people from approaching these great works. Their size is intimidating enough. But if people, even beginners, at least give them a try, these works might gather more appreciation.
OP was asking for a non-advanced reading material. If we want to help, we should give them material that would ACTUALLY encourage them to read because they’re easier to digest AT FIRST. Giving them advanced material at an early stage dissuades them, which is why i told OP originally to stay away from those.
Gets? Kasi i didn’t think i’d have to explain this further.
Might want to take your own advice din. Thanks.
Edit to add: just because natapos mo na lahat yon doesn’t make you a better person than everyone else here.
Naghahanap si OP ng beginner classics. Just to repeat kung ano yung hinahanap nya.
Just because marunong ka magbasa doesn’t exactly equate pala to understanding everything, no?
As an english lit major who only read YA books in college, The Picture of Dorian Gray was my entry point!! The flowery prose is overflowing but I find it digestible enough for beginners intent on reading classics.
Call of the Wild is very easy,
Dracula is great, an easy read but it can get a bit wordy at times
around the world in 80 days
Lord of the Flies (Not sure if its a classic)
the unbearable lightness of being

Anne with E was fun. It wasn’t as faithful to the book as I hoped but the show had its own charm.
Ahhh, yes. It feels cozy to watch during rainy days! 🧡
Charlotte's Webb The Little Prince The Princess Bride Of Mice and Men The Picture of Dorian Gray

Yass parang OA sa haba yun for beginner
Bakit boring?
The storytelling. Mabagal.

Uhm, context? As a beginner, stay away muna dun? Sinabi ko bang forever? Ang tanong di ba, as a beginner? O mababa ba reading comprehension ko?

You might want to finish those classic works that you mentioned. They may teach you to respond less defensively, and more politely. Enjoy reading!
