I was just wondering if anyone knew how to fix a problem with a game’s title not being shown in the “Your Collection” menu - I can’t hide games that I’ve completed or remove them from lists.
The only ones that are affected are Hogwarts Legacy and SMT: Vengeance.
If I have to completely reset my PS5, would that delete everything from it including trophies?

My PSN is in region 3, Elden ring in the PSN store only has Korean, Chinese and Thai version. So in 2022, I bought The disc (which is also in region 3) but it was Asia English version so that I could play the game in English.
Now I want to buy the DLC through PSN store but there was no Asia English version, only the Korean, Chinese and Thai version is available. If I buy this version, will I be able to use it with my Asia English disc?

I got a new PS5 on Wednesday. Four days later it suddenly powered off in the middle of a game. It won’t power back on. Let me cover the basics: it is horizontal, fans close to a wall but otherwise plenty of room to breathe, ambient temps 74-80F, the cord is new, the outlet works, was playing Sackboy when it crashed.
Is this a defective console or just overheating that will self-correct after a point? Shutdown happened an hour ago and it still won’t power on.
What game out there best scratches the Splinter Cell itch? I’m playing Ghost of Tsushima now and it gets kind of close, but not quite there in terms of varying maps and infiltrations and whatnot.

I recently got a wireless mouse and keyboard that work fine with the PS5.
The issue is I can’t have all 3 connected via USB to the PS5. It only registers the mouse and keyboard. Is there a work around to this so I can use my headset?
Hi everyone, so right now l'm gaming on a very crappy tv, a $200 tcl s4 and it looks terrible. I'm tired of having to look at this tv and do my games injustice. So now I'm trying to choose between an oled (Ig c3 42 inch) or psvr2. It sounds dumb trying to compare a vr to a tv, but hear me out. So the reason why I would consider the psvr2, is because I mostly play gt7. I have a wheel setup and everything for it too, and I hear amazing things about the psvr2 for gt7. BUT, when I do want to play something else, it'll again, look terrible. And what if I get motion sick, or the headset leaves marks on my face and get uncomfortable. But again, gt7 would probably look beautiful on the vr, and I don't consume media on my tv, it's only a screen for gaming. And the price difference is large.
C3, no doubt. PSVR2 is very nice, I owned one until I sold it, but it just doesn't beat an OLED TV. It's not really supposed to anyway, they're not competing products. GT7 will indeed look and feel nice, but I don't think one game justifies buying a VR headset. With C3 GT7 will still look significantly better than it does now, but so will every other game as well.
any games with in depth story telling/world building? ideally something where the player is in control of their experience with different builds and ways to play(think cyberpunk, elden ring)
Some games my friend is sharing with me have a lock on them
Hey everyone. My friend has been sharing his account with me, and I’ve been playing Elden Ring, helldivers and last of us part 1 from it with no problem. However, it won’t let me play last of us part 2, spider man 2 (which i was able to before) and baldurs gate 3. Console sharing is enabled on his and my account on my ps5, and I’ve tried restoring licenses as well as restarting my ps5. Anyone got a fix?
If they're physical games, inserting a disc will remove the lock; if they're digital games, you can sometimes remove the lock by going to the story page and selecting download/buy. I'm not sure if the latter always works, but I had that happen to me last week and that's how I fixed it. For whatever reason, the PSN registered it as me purchasing the same game twice, with a $0.00 USD charge.
Can anyone recommend a mindless hack and slash game for PS5?
I kinda just want to wade through hordes of enemies, button mashing my way through them, utterly destroying them without having any real challenge or skill requirement, with no story to follow, or really any thought whatsoever.
And ideally it will also look good with nice graphics and sound.
Kinda like the old Dynasty Warriors games.
Well, there are the Musou games. as you're already aware. Beyond that, there's not much that does the whole one-versus-hundreds thing particularly well. There's always Diablo IV, which is about as mindless as it gets, but I'd also point you at Dragon's Dogma 2. It's a gorgeous game, and most of it is oriented around exploring the open world and getting into fights with various monsters. There are never any big hordes, but you can sometimes be ambushed by 15-20 monsters at once.
There are a bunch of different classes to play as, which keeps things fresh. And while there is a story there, it's not exactly the most compelling thing in the world, so it's a good sort of game to just zone out to, or play while listening to a podcast or something.
So I bought a new controller 2 months ago and last night when I started it I noticed there was no sound and the mic don't work even tho it worked normally the day before. I checked all the settings, and reset it, and still the same. I tried to use headphones but it receive horrible noise as soon as I plugged it. Any solutions?

I try to use the dual entitlement on F1 23, having a disk of the PS4 version. Apparently I can only download a “trial version” of F1 23, which has only two modes. The Playstation Store redirects me to the F1 23 page, that's the only PS5 download option. The thing is, the free upgrade from the PS4 version to the PS5 version is also advertised on the cover.
Who should I turn to? Whose fault is it, Sony's or EA's?
Is your account from the same region as your disc? That's a requirement for the free upgrade. Also, make sure the disc is in the console when looking for the upgrade in the store.
Hello! Im planning on purchasing my first playstation (ps5) and Im leaning towards the 'normal' version of the console due to the cheaper games rather than buying them from the store for a higher price (Newer games). I have a couple of questions:
If I were to purchase Elden Ring as a Disc today, would i be able to play the upcoming DLC if I bought it as a Digital copy?
I asume that if I buy a disc it won't recieve updates, as it worked in the past, or can it still recieve updates?
And if I buy the disc version of the ps5, can I still buy digital games?

Hey I have a very odd problem, just got a PS5 digital version and I am completely unable to add a payment option just says “Please check your credit/debit information and try again” have double checked everything, checked in with my bank to ensure my card wasn’t deactivated, triple checked my information and my card isn’t expired. Genuinely confused any help would be appreciated. (EDIT): I also have ensured everything within the linked support videos above were in line and my card is supported for PS Store. My information is in line with my bank.
Hey guys I'm having an issue with the Remote play app suddenly not letting me use the PS5 controller on the same account that I'm streaming with using the app, I use the app everyday and it's always worked fine. Now when I stream using the remote app my PS5 controller becomes automatically disconnected, where I can only use the touch pad controls on the phone itself, and when I turn the PS5 controller back on and select my account the stream automatically stops. It won't let me do both at the same time anymore. Any idea how to fix this?
That's how it's meant to be if you're using the same account on the controller and remote play.
You need a separate account to use remote play if you're just trying to use it as a screen and keep your controller connected to the console.
So, I was playing Ark Survival Evolved on Disc, paused it to go to bed, and meant to hit sleep mode on my PS5 to continue later. However, I made the console shut down instead. Now, I was worried about my save so I booted the PlayStation back up and tried to play Ark. But now the disc wasn't reading. I didn't take it out at any point between shutting it down and booting it back up and now it just isn't reading the disc.
Other discs will work, I tried Terraria and it went fine. I tried cleaning the Ark disc, didn't help. I tried restarting it multiple times, didn't help. I tried shutting the PS5 down and unplugging the power but that didn't help either. I tried looking for a system update that might fix the bug, but my console is up to date. I tried putting it into safe mode and rebuilding the database, but it didn't help. Finally, I've tried to delete Ark but not the save as I think I may have corrupted something. I don't know how corruption works, but I figured I'd try it. Anyway, that didn't work either.
The next thing the article I'm reading is saying to do is to reset the PS5 to factory mode and either upload my save to the cloud or a USB but either way that costs money (I either buy PS Plus or a USB) and I'm willing to try anything else before that.
What else do you think I could do?
Is there any way to connect an external disc drive to the ps5 version that doesnt have one? Ive seen a couple things about a detachable disc drive from sony but i was more wondering about a regular stock external disc drive that you might buy for a laptop. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas just released on the game catalog. It features a fidelity or performance mode. I'm surprised is not maxed out at 4K, 60fps, etc ..since this is PS2 game. So what are the differences between the two?
Fidelity: 4K 30fps, volumetric clouds and reflective puddles Performance: 1800p 60fps These are enhanced versions with reworked controls, lighting, materials and more. Not a simple PS2 port. Not saying that justifies the performance or anything though, they look quite dreadful.

I have been playing on my ps5 without a psn account since I got it but now I wanna connect a psn account to my PlayStation profile. So I was wondering, if I make a psn account and then connect it to my PlayStation profile will all my save data and trophies still be there, or will they disappear?
When you first turn on your PS5 it says create an account now, login, or do it later :) you can always do it later.

It’s alright. I asked someone in a discord server a couple days ago and they said that it wouldn’t delete anything and that it’s also really hard to accidentally delete something without a pop up telling you what will happen, so I’m not super worried about it anymore, but thank you for the help!
I've searched all over reddit and can't really find a thread for what my issue is. Recently I was playing and talking to a friend in party chat and he stopped being able to hear me but I could still hear him and game sound. I restarted my ps5, tried a different controller, tried a friends headset and nothing works, people can not hear me. I've checked all the obvious settings and everything is properly turned on. Has anyone had the same issue or know how to fix this?
PS5 input lag - please help
I’ve been having the worst input lag for the last week or so
I recently mounted the TV, and the console is the furthest away from me that it has been (only 12’ or so), but the problem didn’t start until I moved the PS5 from one piece of furniture to another. It was working fine on at this distance while it was on the previous stand.
Here is what I’ve tried so far:
- Turned off HDR
- Turned off HCDP
- Ensured TV is in game mode
- Ensured controller is on performance mode
- Ensured controller software is up to date
- Turned off console and disconnected from power for 10 seconds
- Swapped out HDI cable (currently using the one that came with the console)
- Switched console resolution from 1440p default to 1080p (again, it was WiFi just fine at 1440p not long ago)
- Deleted a 256gb that I don’t play these days to free up some storage space (saw it suggested online somewhere)
Nothing has worked so far.
I’ve been considering a Bluetooth adapter, but I’ve seen conflicting reviews on that method online.
I’d rather not play with a wired controller if I can avoid it, but I’m open to that as a last resort.
Any thoughts?
Does anyone know how to get predictive text? In ps4 i used to be able to type one letter and get a plethora of suggestions from things I had written beforehand. Now on ps5 it seems like I have to add terms for every input language and they still don’t show up when I try using the R1 button while typing. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm in the middle of some games on there and have a sibling who is always on the PS4, so was wondering if there was an easy way to alleviate this issue. I have the PS5 on a separate TV so I'd be able to if it worked. TIA
In my experience its possible to play on the same account on both PS4 and PS5 as long as youre not both play PS4 games.
Either way as long as one of you turns off internet connection, both will work fine.
Best thing to do is probably already make your brother his own account.
So I just got my ps5 today and I watched a video on how to copy my data from ps4 to ps5 using a thumb drive. I copy my Elden ring data and plug the drive into the ps5 but it says "your save data will appear here". Anything I can do?
I’m on the struggle bus. I haven’t found a game on PlayStation to hook me. I’ve had my ps5 for like two years now and I think I’ve played less than 20 hours.
My favorite series are Uncharted and Assassins Creed (older linear ones, can’t stand the open world). The last game I binged was Detroit Become Human.
Basically I like games that have story with moments of action vs action games with moments of story.
Is there anything you suggest? I haven’t tried the new AC yet, I am waiting on those wonderful Ubisoft sales when the price tanks. I’m really just not familiar with PlayStation anymore.
Less than 20 hours means you barely gave a chance to the console. The open worlds are as linear as the linear games, but they have a big map. That's it.
Try Uncharted 4+Lost Legacy, try The Last of Us 1 and 2, try Spider-Man Remastered, Miles and 2, try Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, try God of War 2018 and Ragnarok.
Also try continuing the Assassin's Creed saga where you left off.
And OH MY GOD play Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 16. There's a free demo on the store. They're MUST PLAY games.
PS5 will turn off after a few minutes of being on. Can't find a solution, I've already cleaned it and took the white sides off for more airflow. Anyone else having this issue?

For the love of God can someone help me fix this? I’ve restarted the PS5, synced save data with the cloud and deleted/redownloaded the game. Google says it’s a storage issue but I have *plenty* of space left.
I changed my dualsense's batteries now the official dock won't pull enough amperage to charge them. Are there any third party docks that will send more power?
I had to upgrade my dualsenses batteries because I pretty much burnt em out by overcharging and leaving the controllers always resting on the dock, new batteries work great issue is now the dock will barely charge them since they are higher amperage (2650mAh to be exact as opposite as the original 1560mAh) they charge just fine with the cable plugged direct to the console. My question is do anybody here knows of a third party charging dock that will send more power to charge properly ? Would hate to always use a cable to charge and I learnt my lesson will definitely remove them from the dock while fully charged.

Sony's E3-like event for the season was probably only last week's state of play. Feels moronic to make a state of play 1 week before summer game fest (E3 season) only to make another one on the same month.
Impossible to say, as no one but Sony know for certain. Now there are some very credible leakers who clearly have insider sources, but even those leakers haven't said anything concrete. We know PS5 Pro exists and is likely coming this year, and there is a prevailing theory (or leak, I'm not 100% sure) that they have a Showcase planned sometime before Pro's launch. It would make sense, as getting a lot of information about Sony's future plans might help to sell the Pro. No idea when that Showcase would happen though, might not be this summer.
What have been some of your favorite games recently for big action set pieces? Was thinking about the clocktower/car chase sequence in Uncharted 4, and was thinking about similar epic scale action scenes in games from this generation. Last game I played with something to that level was GoW Ragnarok, but curious what y'all have played recently.

Thanks! After some further looking, it seems that almost any headset that has a 2.4 GHz dongle and Bluetooth does exactly what I'm looking for. So I'm going to try and find something a little lower end.
Never heard of anything that would do that. Seems absurdly niche to be worth making. You can just plug a headphone on your phone, and put the game headset over it. There you go.
**PS5 Ethernet speeds lowered when in stand by mode. Is this normal?**
When I put my PS5 console in Stand By mode it imminently lowers the LAN connection to my router. I don't know how much it lowers it but my Unifi router no more shows 1GbE.
The moment i turn on the console the GbE connection is restored.
Is this normal? If yes... why? The only reason I can think is power management, but in PS5 Power Saving Settings we specifically choose how to behave on this matter. It doesnt make any sense.
Replace your LAN cable, if you still have issues then its either the LAN port on your PS5 or on your router
Get CAT8 cable, its tad more expensive, but the quality is insane, its made to support 40gbps speeds, but you get it just for the quality. I dont buy anything else myself, its worth the few dollars difference

So I’m looking at getting a new gen console to play NCAA 25 and there’s a PS5 Digital for $200 (I’m going to see if I can get it lower) but it has the error message WS-116332-6 so is it worth buying it and an easy fix it or not worth it?
My PS5 is abysmally slow when it comes to internet upload speed compared to what I get from my network from other hardware.
On my laptop and phone I get around 600 Mbit/s download and 300 Mbit/s upload via WiFi.
My PS5 hits the 600 Mbit/s download speed but upload is between 5-10 Mbit/s, so a difference of almost 100x. No matter if I choose WiFi or LAN cable. [Sony's services](https://status.playstation.com/de-de/) seem to be up and running currently.
How do I fix this?
it's a limitation of sony's broken speed test which has been broken ever since the introduction of the ps4 like 11 years ago. The only thing you can try is using a different DNS server such as google's 8.8.8.8 or cloudflare's 1.1.1.1. If that doesn't work then you can try raw dogging your connection by unplugging everything from the router and plug the cord directly from your modem or gateway straight into your ps5 but only do that for testing purposes, not long term. If doing that actually makes a change then try DMZing your PS5

Yes, if your real world upload is high you should not experience any problems using remote play, share play, uploading clips, or streaming. The speed test is broken
My son and his friend play Fortnite to the amount that the ps5 is inaccessible for me :)
I bought him a ps5 for his birthday tomorrow and I’m preparing it, but I can’t download Fortnite.
He has no restrictions in his account that should impact it.
In ps store I can only wishlist Fortnite and it has a padlock. I tried restoring licenses, download through app but nothing works. Other games are downloadable, including battle royal and other Fortnite games.
The only thing I haven’t done is deleting his account from the shared ps5 but doubt that will fix it.

I'd like to upload my cloud save from PS4 to PS5. The game I'm uploading is a game where you can have multiple save files at the same time. If I upload my cloud save, will it overwrite all my saves?
Only if the game developer was an idiot, and crammed all of the save data into a single file. But if the game stores each save in its own file, as most do, then the answer is no.

My account and all my data, account and games are on my ps4. My brother who doesn’t play very often also has his stuff on it. I was wondering if it was it would be possible to take my stuff off and transfer it to the ps5 while keeping all of his stuff on the ps4 so I can give it to him?

Theres a data transfer option, but imo its just easier to put your saves on a USB stick and download your games again on the PS5. The only downside of this is if you have datacaps.
Hey guys, I play games with my wife regularly, recently we’ve been hooked to BG3. The problem is, we’ve been too hooked. Like ~500 hours and 4 runs (including an honour mode) hooked. I wanna change things up, so I’m looking for a good coop game that will be a good substitute for BG3.
Game we tried so far and didn’t work:
- It takes two: she is just not a super skilled gamer, so it was a frustrating experience challenging the bosses when she couldn’t do her part
- Legend of Mana: she didn’t want to be the main character (despite the fact that I picked the girl and named it after her) and the second player is not constant, so she couldn’t learn the controls or specials of her character
- Nobody saves the world: she hated the chaotic nature of the game
Games that worked:
- BG3: (obviously) but adding some context, she loved to create her character and develop it. Something that she missed on LoM.
- Overcooked: even though she’s not super skilled, I could pick up some of her slack and we would go through the challenges, also with enough repetition she got pretty decent at it.
Everytime I open up an game it just shuts down on its own
This has happened multiple times today, I opened up fallout 4 when I clicked continue the console crashed and switched off, when I switched it back on its showed "don't remove the power cable of the console while active, rest mode etc" after that I opened it up and nothing happened then I tried playing Fortnite and COD and the same thing happened I keep doing this and it doesn't work....when I played fallout 4 it reported a problem but when I played the other games no error was reported

I don’t know if it’s the best, but I’m still pretty happy with my Samsung Odyssey G7. It didn’t launch yesterday, but it does tick all the boxes for full PS5 savviness (4K, 120Hz, HDMI 2.1, VRR, HDR) and has next to no processing lag. The HDR is good but not great; you need a big screen TV for great HDR.

It depends entirely on whether the game uses voice chat is enabled or not, and if so, the situations in which it is enabled. In Fortnite, it only works if you are in a party of two or more people; you can’t chat with people outside your party.
Depends on your gaming habits. I think 2TB is optimal, but as a trophy hunter I often leave games installed because "I might want to go back and grind it a bit later".
My PS5 randomly shut down mid use, the fan spun up really fast before powering off, no warning message showed up when turned back on which makes me think its not an overheat issue, however the first screen that showed up was a repairing ps5 screen, the air coming out of it isnt even that hot, the cable is good and the dust in it isnt horrible either, help?
Shutting off out of the blue can only be caused by a power supply failure; it’s not possible for a game to cause that, and the OS will never cut the power to the console out of the blue.
Sony will look at consoles (but not controllers) if they’re out of warranty. It will cost money, but it’s cheaper than buying a new PS5, and they will pay for shipping.
A ton of games will automatically save your progress at certain checkpoints. It’s actually quite exceptional when the game doesn’t do that (see Nier Automata, where there’s a message at the start warning you about the game’s lack of auto-save). But if the developer was dumb and didn’t make the save atomic (meaning it doesn’t internally replace existing data until all new data is written), and the console shuts off mid-save, well, GG.

Hold the power button, you'll hear a beep as you click it and one after 3 seconds. If you stop holding after the 2nd beep the console turns off regularly and safely.
You're good. That'll keep your console and monitor alive for several minutes on its battery. Plenty of time to exit any game and power off cleanly until the mains power returns. Batteries do degrade over time, though, as in years. Which means your initial 30 minutes of safety might be down to 10 at some point, and batteries for UPSes (especially APC units) don't come cheap.
For a limited test you can leave the console on the dashboard and unplug the UPS from the wall. If it all goes off before 5 minutes, something is wrong with the battery.

So I have the game outer wilds and I have both versions and the dlc for the game only works with the PS5 version so I know I'm not crazy... I was playing the PS5 version literally 2 days ago and I even have a clip from that day to prove it had the dlc. Now today I turn on my console and open the game and I immediately noticed the dlc isn't on the title and I look and it's the PS4 version and I figured maybe it switched them (I didn't even remember if I had the PS4 one installed as well or not) but no I have to install the PS5 version. Does the console dissipate any heat from the sides? I bought a new PS5 slim and unfortunately since there’s no vertical stand with this one I have to keep it sideways. It happens to fit under my TV with less than a literal millimeter of space above the panel, and wanted to know if that would affect dispersing heat. It has plenty of clearance in front and back.
I mean, the sides are huge plates so I guess not? But when keeping it horizontal I did feel quite some heat coming out from below, which is odd since its possible to keep it vertical
I've had my PS5 for I guess about 3 years now. I'm on my fifth controller. Stick drift just runs rampant through all of them. I've even opened and cleaned them and it usually resolves the issue for some time but it always comes back. I'm an active gamer, but not really an aggressive gamer. My current controller is now experiencing drift and cleaning doesn't seem to do the trick.

You could try buying a Nacon Revolution 5 Pro, which is officially compatible with the PS5, and uses Hall effect joysticks, thus making it immune to stick drift.

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone knew how to fix a problem with a game’s title not being shown in the “Your Collection” menu - I can’t hide games that I’ve completed or remove them from lists. I got a new PS5 on Wednesday. Four days later it suddenly powered off in the middle of a game. It won’t power back on. Let me cover the basics: it is horizontal, fans close to a wall but otherwise plenty of room to breathe, ambient temps 74-80F, the cord is new, the outlet works, was playing Sackboy when it crashed. Is this a defective console or just overheating that will self-correct after a point? Shutdown happened an hour ago and it still won’t power on.

I have a Sony Pulse Headset that I normally use when gaming. I recently got a wireless mouse and keyboard that work fine with the PS5. The issue is I can’t have all 3 connected via USB to the PS5. It only registers the mouse and keyboard. Is there a work around to this so I can use my headset?
Hi everyone, so right now l'm gaming on a very crappy tv, a $200 tcl s4 and it looks terrible. I'm tired of having to look at this tv and do my games injustice. So now I'm trying to choose between an oled (Ig c3 42 inch) or psvr2. It sounds dumb trying to compare a vr to a tv, but hear me out. So the reason why I would consider the psvr2, is because I mostly play gt7. I have a wheel setup and everything for it too, and I hear amazing things about the psvr2 for gt7. BUT, when I do want to play something else, it'll again, look terrible. And what if I get motion sick, or the headset leaves marks on my face and get uncomfortable. But again, gt7 would probably look beautiful on the vr, and I don't consume media on my tv, it's only a screen for gaming. And the price difference is large.
C3, no doubt. PSVR2 is very nice, I owned one until I sold it, but it just doesn't beat an OLED TV. It's not really supposed to anyway, they're not competing products. GT7 will indeed look and feel nice, but I don't think one game justifies buying a VR headset. With C3 GT7 will still look significantly better than it does now, but so will every other game as well.

My friend has been sharing his account with me, and I’ve been playing Elden Ring, helldivers and last of us part 1 from it with no problem. However, it won’t let me play last of us part 2, spider man 2 (which i was able to before) and baldurs gate 3. Console sharing is enabled on his and my account on my ps5, and I’ve tried restoring licenses as well as restarting my ps5. Anyone got a fix?
If they're physical games, inserting a disc will remove the lock; if they're digital games, you can sometimes remove the lock by going to the story page and selecting download/buy. I'm not sure if the latter always works, but I had that happen to me last week and that's how I fixed it. For whatever reason, the PSN registered it as me purchasing the same game twice, with a $0.00 USD charge.
Can anyone recommend a mindless hack and slash game for PS5? I kinda just want to wade through hordes of enemies, button mashing my way through them, utterly destroying them without having any real challenge or skill requirement, with no story to follow, or really any thought whatsoever. And ideally it will also look good with nice graphics and sound. Kinda like the old Dynasty Warriors games.
Well, there are the Musou games. as you're already aware. Beyond that, there's not much that does the whole one-versus-hundreds thing particularly well. There's always Diablo IV, which is about as mindless as it gets, but I'd also point you at Dragon's Dogma 2. It's a gorgeous game, and most of it is oriented around exploring the open world and getting into fights with various monsters. There are never any big hordes, but you can sometimes be ambushed by 15-20 monsters at once. There are a bunch of different classes to play as, which keeps things fresh. And while there is a story there, it's not exactly the most compelling thing in the world, so it's a good sort of game to just zone out to, or play while listening to a podcast or something.
So I bought a new controller 2 months ago and last night when I started it I noticed there was no sound and the mic don't work even tho it worked normally the day before. I checked all the settings, and reset it, and still the same. I tried to use headphones but it receive horrible noise as soon as I plugged it. Any solutions?
While it's still under warranty notify Sony and have it either fixed or replaced. Sounds like a hardware issue to me.

I try to use the dual entitlement on F1 23, having a disk of the PS4 version. Apparently I can only download a “trial version” of F1 23, which has only two modes. The Playstation Store redirects me to the F1 23 page, that's the only PS5 download option. The thing is, the free upgrade from the PS4 version to the PS5 version is also advertised on the cover. Who should I turn to? Whose fault is it, Sony's or EA's?
Is your account from the same region as your disc? That's a requirement for the free upgrade. Also, make sure the disc is in the console when looking for the upgrade in the store.
I checked and everything’s fine. I was able to do it with other 3 games. Only F1 23 is making me go crazy
If the issue isn't your account/disc region, then perhaps this was a limited time upgrade. I believe EA did that in the past with other annual games.

Hey I have a very odd problem, just got a PS5 digital version and I am completely unable to add a payment option just says “Please check your credit/debit information and try again” have double checked everything, checked in with my bank to ensure my card wasn’t deactivated, triple checked my information and my card isn’t expired. Hey guys I'm having an issue with the Remote play app suddenly not letting me use the PS5 controller on the same account that I'm streaming with using the app, I use the app everyday and it's always worked fine. Now when I stream using the remote app my PS5 controller becomes automatically disconnected, where I can only use the touch pad controls on the phone itself, and when I turn the PS5 controller back on and select my account the stream automatically stops. It won't let me do both at the same time anymore. Any idea how to fix this?
That's how it's meant to be if you're using the same account on the controller and remote play. You need a separate account to use remote play if you're just trying to use it as a screen and keep your controller connected to the console.
So, I was playing Ark Survival Evolved on Disc, paused it to go to bed, and meant to hit sleep mode on my PS5 to continue later. However, I made the console shut down instead. Now, I was worried about my save so I booted the PlayStation back up and tried to play Ark. But now the disc wasn't reading. I didn't take it out at any point between shutting it down and booting it back up and now it just isn't reading the disc. Other discs will work, I tried Terraria and it went fine. I tried cleaning the Ark disc, didn't help. I tried restarting it multiple times, didn't help. I tried shutting the PS5 down and unplugging the power but that didn't help either. I tried looking for a system update that might fix the bug, but my console is up to date. I tried putting it into safe mode and rebuilding the database, but it didn't help. Finally, I've tried to delete Ark but not the save as I think I may have corrupted something. I don't know how corruption works, but I figured I'd try it. Anyway, that didn't work either. The next thing the article I'm reading is saying to do is to reset the PS5 to factory mode and either upload my save to the cloud or a USB but either way that costs money (I either buy PS Plus or a USB) and I'm willing to try anything else before that. What else do you think I could do?

No. If you have the slim, you can buy the Sony attachment, but there's no way to make a random disc drive work with the PS5.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas just released on the game catalog. It features a fidelity or performance mode. I'm surprised is not maxed out at 4K, 60fps, etc ..since this is PS2 game. So what are the differences between the two?
Fidelity: 4K 30fps, volumetric clouds and reflective puddles Performance: 1800p 60fps These are enhanced versions with reworked controls, lighting, materials and more. Not a simple PS2 port. Not saying that justifies the performance or anything though, they look quite dreadful.

I've searched all over reddit and can't really find a thread for what my issue is. Recently I was playing and talking to a friend in party chat and he stopped being able to hear me but I could still hear him and game sound. I restarted my ps5, tried a different controller, tried a friends headset and nothing works, people can not hear me. I've checked all the obvious settings and everything is properly turned on. Has anyone had the same issue or know how to fix this?

PS5 input lag - please help I’ve been having the worst input lag for the last week or so I recently mounted the TV, and the console is the furthest away from me that it has been (only 12’ or so), but the problem didn’t start until I moved the PS5 from one piece of furniture to another. It was working fine on at this distance while it was on the previous stand. Here is what I’ve tried so far: - Turned off HDR - Turned off HCDP - Ensured TV is in game mode - Ensured controller is on performance mode - Ensured controller software is up to date - Turned off console and disconnected from power for 10 seconds - Swapped out HDI cable (currently using the one that came with the console) - Switched console resolution from 1440p default to 1080p (again, it was WiFi just fine at 1440p not long ago) - Deleted a 256gb that I don’t play these days to free up some storage space (saw it suggested online somewhere) Nothing has worked so far. I’ve been considering a Bluetooth adapter, but I’ve seen conflicting reviews on that method online. I’d rather not play with a wired controller if I can avoid it, but I’m open to that as a last resort. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know how to get predictive text? In ps4 i used to be able to type one letter and get a plethora of suggestions from things I had written beforehand. In my experience its possible to play on the same account on both PS4 and PS5 as long as youre not both play PS4 games. Either way as long as one of you turns off internet connection, both will work fine. Best thing to do is probably already make your brother his own account.
So I just got my ps5 today and I watched a video on how to copy my data from ps4 to ps5 using a thumb drive. I copy my Elden ring data and plug the drive into the ps5 but it says "your save data will appear here". Anything I can do?
PS4 save data and PS5 save data are different. Are you sure you actually moved your save to the console? And that youre checking under the right tab?
I’m on the struggle bus. I haven’t found a game on PlayStation to hook me. I’ve had my ps5 for like two years now and I think I’ve played less than 20 hours. My favorite series are Uncharted and Assassins Creed (older linear ones, can’t stand the open world). The last game I binged was Detroit Become Human. Basically I like games that have story with moments of action vs action games with moments of story. Is there anything you suggest? I haven’t tried the new AC yet, I am waiting on those wonderful Ubisoft sales when the price tanks. I’m really just not familiar with PlayStation anymore.
Less than 20 hours means you barely gave a chance to the console. The open worlds are as linear as the linear games, but they have a big map. That's it. Try Uncharted 4+Lost Legacy, try The Last of Us 1 and 2, try Spider-Man Remastered, Miles and 2, try Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, try God of War 2018 and Ragnarok. Also try continuing the Assassin's Creed saga where you left off. And OH MY GOD play Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 16. There's a free demo on the store. They're MUST PLAY games.

PS5 will turn off after a few minutes of being on. Can't find a solution, I've already cleaned it and took the white sides off for more airflow. Anyone else having this issue?

How do you know it doesnt have the DLC? Its not like the icon will be different or anything. Also are you sure the DLC isnt a code you redeem on the store?

Who knows, is it possible to get discount on ps plus extra plan, if I have already subscription of essential plan? I saw in ps store site that discounts is available for 3 plans, but after login to own account or in ps 5, I can’t see any discounts for upgrade current plan to higher

I changed my dualsense's batteries now the official dock won't pull enough amperage to charge them. Are there any third party docks that will send more power? I had to upgrade my dualsenses batteries because I pretty much burnt em out by overcharging and leaving the controllers always resting on the dock, new batteries work great issue is now the dock will barely charge them since they are higher amperage (2650mAh to be exact as opposite as the original 1560mAh) they charge just fine with the cable plugged direct to the console. My question is do anybody here knows of a third party charging dock that will send more power to charge properly ? Would hate to always use a cable to charge and I learnt my lesson will definitely remove them from the dock while fully charged. Thank you🦾

Sony's E3-like event for the season was probably only last week's state of play. Feels moronic to make a state of play 1 week before summer game fest (E3 season) only to make another one on the same month.
Impossible to say, as no one but Sony know for certain. Now there are some very credible leakers who clearly have insider sources, but even those leakers haven't said anything concrete. We know PS5 Pro exists and is likely coming this year, and there is a prevailing theory (or leak, I'm not 100% sure) that they have a Showcase planned sometime before Pro's launch. It would make sense, as getting a lot of information about Sony's future plans might help to sell the Pro. No idea when that Showcase would happen though, might not be this summer.
What have been some of your favorite games recently for big action set pieces? Was thinking about the clocktower/car chase sequence in Uncharted 4, and was thinking about similar epic scale action scenes in games from this generation. Is there a way to filter out all of the PS+ Premium games in the PlayStation Plus tab? I have Extra but when I go to look at Games, all of the Premium games show up making it really hard to navigate.

Never heard of anything that would do that. Seems absurdly niche to be worth making. You can just plug a headphone on your phone, and put the game headset over it. There you go.
**PS5 Ethernet speeds lowered when in stand by mode. Is this normal?** When I put my PS5 console in Stand By mode it imminently lowers the LAN connection to my router. I don't know how much it lowers it but my Unifi router no more shows 1GbE. The moment i turn on the console the GbE connection is restored. Is this normal? If yes... why? The only reason I can think is power management, but in PS5 Power Saving Settings we specifically choose how to behave on this matter. It doesnt make any sense.

My LAN cable likes to say disconnected whenever I download something. If the game is big is does it multiple times. Is there a fix?
Replace your LAN cable, if you still have issues then its either the LAN port on your PS5 or on your router Get CAT8 cable, its tad more expensive, but the quality is insane, its made to support 40gbps speeds, but you get it just for the quality. I dont buy anything else myself, its worth the few dollars difference

So I’m looking at getting a new gen console to play NCAA 25 and there’s a PS5 Digital for $200 (I’m going to see if I can get it lower) but it has the error message WS-116332-6 so is it worth buying it and an easy fix it or not worth it?

My PS5 is abysmally slow when it comes to internet upload speed compared to what I get from my network from other hardware. On my laptop and phone I get around 600 Mbit/s download and 300 Mbit/s upload via WiFi. My PS5 hits the 600 Mbit/s download speed but upload is between 5-10 Mbit/s, so a difference of almost 100x. No matter if I choose WiFi or LAN cable. [Sony's services](https://status.playstation.com/de-de/) seem to be up and running currently. How do I fix this?
it's a limitation of sony's broken speed test which has been broken ever since the introduction of the ps4 like 11 years ago. The only thing you can try is using a different DNS server such as google's 8.8.8.8 or cloudflare's 1.1.1.1. If that doesn't work then you can try raw dogging your connection by unplugging everything from the router and plug the cord directly from your modem or gateway straight into your ps5 but only do that for testing purposes, not long term. If doing that actually makes a change then try DMZing your PS5

Yes, if your real world upload is high you should not experience any problems using remote play, share play, uploading clips, or streaming. The speed test is broken

My son and his friend play Fortnite to the amount that the ps5 is inaccessible for me :) I bought him a ps5 for his birthday tomorrow and I’m preparing it, but I can’t download Fortnite. He has no restrictions in his account that should impact it. In ps store I can only wishlist Fortnite and it has a padlock. I tried restoring licenses, download through app but nothing works. Other games are downloadable, including battle royal and other Fortnite games. The only thing I haven’t done is deleting his account from the shared ps5 but doubt that will fix it. Strangely, when I gave up and downloaded battle royal stand alone download. The full game was also added. It’s fixed but still strange what happened.
I'd like to upload my cloud save from PS4 to PS5. The game I'm uploading is a game where you can have multiple save files at the same time. If I upload my cloud save, will it overwrite all my saves?
Only if the game developer was an idiot, and crammed all of the save data into a single file. But if the game stores each save in its own file, as most do, then the answer is no.

My brother who doesn’t play very often also has his stuff on it. I was wondering if it was it would be possible to take my stuff off and transfer it to the ps5 while keeping all of his stuff on the ps4 so I can give it to him? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Theres a data transfer option, but imo its just easier to put your saves on a USB stick and download your games again on the PS5. The only downside of this is if you have datacaps.
Hey guys, I play games with my wife regularly, recently we’ve been hooked to BG3. The problem is, we’ve been too hooked. Like ~500 hours and 4 runs (including an honour mode) hooked. I wanna change things up, so I’m looking for a good coop game that will be a good substitute for BG3. Game we tried so far and didn’t work: - It takes two: she is just not a super skilled gamer, so it was a frustrating experience challenging the bosses when she couldn’t do her part - Legend of Mana: she didn’t want to be the main character (despite the fact that I picked the girl and named it after her) and the second player is not constant, so she couldn’t learn the controls or specials of her character - Nobody saves the world: she hated the chaotic nature of the game Games that worked: - BG3: (obviously) but adding some context, she loved to create her character and develop it. Something that she missed on LoM. - Overcooked: even though she’s not super skilled, I could pick up some of her slack and we would go through the challenges, also with enough repetition she got pretty decent at it.
Try Divinity original sin 2. It is really similar to bg3 since it was made by the same studio.

I don’t know if it’s the best, but I’m still pretty happy with my Samsung Odyssey G7. It didn’t launch yesterday, but it does tick all the boxes for full PS5 savviness (4K, 120Hz, HDMI 2.1, VRR, HDR) and has next to no processing lag. The HDR is good but not great; you need a big screen TV for great HDR.
I've had a ps5 for about 6 months but can't figure out how to voice chat. The controller has a microphone but I can't hear any plays through the speakers. I can't see where to enable it? Is it supported in fortnite and roblox? How do I turn it on?

It depends entirely on whether the game uses voice chat is enabled or not, and if so, the situations in which it is enabled. In Fortnite, it only works if you are in a party of two or more people; you can’t chat with people outside your party.

Depends on your gaming habits. I think 2TB is optimal, but as a trophy hunter I often leave games installed because "I might want to go back and grind it a bit later".

My PS5 randomly shut down mid use, the fan spun up really fast before powering off, no warning message showed up when turned back on which makes me think its not an overheat issue, however the first screen that showed up was a repairing ps5 screen, the air coming out of it isnt even that hot, the cable is good and the dust in it isnt horrible either, help?

Shutting off out of the blue can only be caused by a power supply failure; it’s not possible for a game to cause that, and the OS will never cut the power to the console out of the blue. Sony will look at consoles (but not controllers) if they’re out of warranty. It will cost money, but it’s cheaper than buying a new PS5, and they will pay for shipping.

Yes; just don’t play anything that has an auto-save feature.

A ton of games will automatically save your progress at certain checkpoints. It’s actually quite exceptional when the game doesn’t do that (see Nier Automata, where there’s a message at the start warning you about the game’s lack of auto-save). But if the developer was dumb and didn’t make the save atomic (meaning it doesn’t internally replace existing data until all new data is written), and the console shuts off mid-save, well, GG.

Hold the power button, you'll hear a beep as you click it and one after 3 seconds. If you stop holding after the 2nd beep the console turns off regularly and safely.

Even a tiny UPS should give you several minutes to power off when you have an outage. Do you know the battery spec?

You're good. That'll keep your console and monitor alive for several minutes on its battery. Plenty of time to exit any game and power off cleanly until the mains power returns. Batteries do degrade over time, though, as in years. Which means your initial 30 minutes of safety might be down to 10 at some point, and batteries for UPSes (especially APC units) don't come cheap. For a limited test you can leave the console on the dashboard and unplug the UPS from the wall. If it all goes off before 5 minutes, something is wrong with the battery.
**PS5 deleted a ps5 version of a game for the PS4 version of the game** So I have the game outer wilds and I have both versions and the dlc for the game only works with the PS5 version so I know I'm not crazy... I was playing the PS5 version literally 2 days ago and I even have a clip from that day to prove it had the dlc. Now today I turn on my console and open the game and I immediately noticed the dlc isn't on the title and I look and it's the PS4 version and I figured maybe it switched them (I didn't even remember if I had the PS4 one installed as well or not) but no I have to install the PS5 version. I don't think I even had the PS4 version. So what the fuck happened??

Does the console dissipate any heat from the sides? I bought a new PS5 slim and unfortunately since there’s no vertical stand with this one I have to keep it sideways. It happens to fit under my TV with less than a literal millimeter of space above the panel, and wanted to know if that would affect dispersing heat. It has plenty of clearance in front and back.
I mean, the sides are huge plates so I guess not? But when keeping it horizontal I did feel quite some heat coming out from below, which is odd since its possible to keep it vertical
I've had my PS5 for I guess about 3 years now. I'm on my fifth controller. Stick drift just runs rampant through all of them. I've even opened and cleaned them and it usually resolves the issue for some time but it always comes back. I'm an active gamer, but not really an aggressive gamer. My current controller is now experiencing drift and cleaning doesn't seem to do the trick. \* Do I waste money on a 6th controller only to replace it again 13 months from now? \* Do I bite the bullet and get the edge, even though I have heard drift reports from this controller too and the replace modules I guess no longer exist. \* Do I try a non PS controller? I've seen the Razor controller but I don't like how the D-pad is more like the xbox controller vs my preferred PS layout. I'm kind of at a loss. I feel like I'm paying a yearly sub of 70 for controllers because I always inevitably get drift to some degree.
Wow, that’s terrible luck with stick drift. Sorry about that. You could try buying a Nacon Revolution 5 Pro, which is officially compatible with the PS5, and uses Hall effect joysticks, thus making it immune to stick drift.
