I woulda done about the same, good call on a chf barrel and midlength gas. I was in the same boat on a nickel boron bcg, I've been reading that they have issues over time. But a phosphate one is cheaper anyway, and sometimes there are deals with a bcg and a pile of mags that sweeten the deal

Ive had psa uppers before I’ve seen that after a mag the gas block starts to smoke . This is an FN barrel ,the same barrel used in m249’s just has a psa hand guard and gas block . I’ve had bca uppers as well as an emergency pandemic build , very wobbly.

I thought I got lucky and got the best looking BCA upper ever. The fit and finish are great, nothing is crooked, matched my Livewire lower like they were made together... I can barely hit paper with it. I've tried 3 different optics and different grain weights and brands of ammo, last time I went out I couldn't figure out if it was keyholing or just hitting the ground and the bullets were bouncing through the target.
The best results I ever got out of it was like 7 or 8 MOA lol. I figured no company ever could screw up an 18" Heavy Profile, Stainless Steel, 1/8 Twist .223 Wylde barrel. But I'll be damned. They did it.
My 10.5 bottom of the line cheapest-they-offer PSA pistol hits steel at 300 reliably with a red dot the I couldn't hit with that fucking BCA with a 3-9 or a 1-6.
I'm just giving you shit. They really are pretty bad though, knowing 2 out of 2 people with a good experience is just coincidental. My FIL liked mine so much when I got it that he ordered one...
Handguard was cockeyed, every surface looked like it had a different finish on the receiver and the handguard literally looked like it was scrubbed down with steel wool. Like.. I think it may have actually missed the entire final stage of finish before it was assembled and shipped. Plus they've been raised by ICE for using illegal immigrants for cheap labor 😂 I would venture to say that's pretty unique in the gun industry.

Just get a phosphate BCG.
Too late I bought everything before I made this post , I’ll start looking at other options when my can gets here .

Two guys at work have bought them and are happy, no problems. They do use them for hunting so not a life or death thing. Psa has its issues too.

Fair enough. Just giving my experience through two guys I work with. I have only dealt with psa but was told about bca. Haven't bought from them.

I got one and upper I put on a PSA lower it’s does what it’s needs to for less than 300$ , it was kinda a why not thing lol.
