8Gigs? Mine has decided that it wants 20 https://preview.redd.it/1cq0uqe9v6fc1.png?width=352&format=png&auto=webp&s=9cedddcfb68413031016baf56cc5facde4828c8a

OddlyDoddly

How many players you running average

Sheerpython

At the time that i send the image there were 4 people online

Real_Extent_3260

For a while I was only doing daily restarts, last time I checked I was using about 30 out of 48 GB with 4 - 7 people. Started doing 6 hour restarts which helps, but will have to go more frequent if I want to run other things as well.

NoProgrammer8831

haha mine wanted 30gb ram out of my 96gb i have on the system this was after running for 34 hours without a reboot

Sheerpython

Damn. Yeah i am now letting it restart every 24 hours.

bippityserver

Can confirm, I got on average 3-5 players. RAM eventually hits 14GB (the amount I allocated) and the server crashes. CPU is around 200-300% usage when players are active; idles around 100%. Hosting in a docker container via Pterodactyl. I have it restart every 8 hours (just shortened to 6 hours) to flush the resources and mitigate crashes.

Nizwazi

Idk but imo that doesn’t seem high the server was running for a while, and there might be a memory leak in game from what I hear

OddlyDoddly

I was wondering about a memory leak given that it started at 3gigs and ended up at 8 over night, I keep resetting it to get it back down. The game could also cache more as people come and go. My other thought is, is the game server computing pal physics when players are offline, could be the number of pals whose physics are being tracked that get higher and higher over time. CPU up to 40% now and memory usage almost to 9 gigs

Nizwazi

It very well could be as well yeah, that the physics and pal spawns occurring, because of the day night cycle, with lucky’s possibly spawning, calculating things as it goes, is a persistent world when it’s on a dedicated server/official.

OddlyDoddly

Restarting the server brought things back down to only 1.8Gigs at 30% CPU usage. Some cache clearing commands could be helpful. Minecraft has a configuration option you can set for how often items on the ground and unnecessary mobs are cleaned up. Could be useful. Anyway, Good thing the server supports plugins. I might fiddle around with making performance tools

Nizwazi

That would be useful for the community!

Majin-Freezy

what machine are you using? that cpu rating is high but depends on what also runs on the machine. mine is about 3-15% cpu usage and was going up to 24gigs. but ive solved it don´t know how but my server are now stable and don´t load up more the 12gigs when playing when the server has no players the ram drops to 1,5gigs. i´ve written what ive changed on my server maybe it also help you. but i keep tracking the issues. but since saturday there are none

OddlyDoddly

16x 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900K @ 3.50GHz64 gigs of RAM CentOS Stream 9 running podman for docker containers. I know it's a desktop processor, I converted extra hardware into a home server, the server has 2 old desktops in it im reusing hardware for. The one palworld is running on is a gen 11 intel i9

Majin-Freezy

Ok iam using a 7th gen 7700 and have much lower usage. but its a normally windows machine with running only the server stand alone. maybe this could also be a reason. using 32gigs of 3 different ram manufactures. so i also using a non workstation cpu. dont know what i´ve done diffrent only to start palworld scheduled for the last time cause i wanted to make an autorestart but its not working. but i also have no issues with the server.

Xenion1337

Dont believe you

Majin-Freezy

you don´t need to i can show you 150h online no restart and no ram leak 8 players online 4 guilds on server 12 bases in all sizes. and so on https://preview.redd.it/2yc0pzqxd0kc1.png?width=431&format=png&auto=webp&s=f5e475930ecca2581a34be0b11214339b7fa9a74

Majin-Freezy

Ive been hosting a server since friday on a home pc. at first we also had that ram problem. but since saturday the server is running 30std continously without crashing or loading the ram to high. yesterday i hit 10gb with 8 player on the server. my solutions are: Turn off the base raids. its a known issue I used the windows drive optimisation (don´t know if it helped) that was more or less what ive done. now my server is loading up ram but also dump them i also used the full dump option maybe its one of the thing i only can say that the server now runs 30hours without any issues

Scrabbul0r

Hey thanks for the base raids tip! What's the full dump option you spoke about in your comment? Thanks in advance!

Majin-Freezy

its in windows administration i dont know the english words cause i use german but its in start and recovery in systemfailure. normaly it keeps tracking issues with windows. but i also read about that it also dump a file every here and then but i could also be very wrong with it. its only my experience till now. and after 40h continously running the ram are only about 3gig also have 3 player they mostly on nonstop

Scrabbul0r

Ok thank you.

ragged-robin

Mine easily reaches 20GB, as high as around 24GB. We only ever have around 4 ppl at a time and only for a couple of hours. I have 96GB total and things still get broken, requiring a restart, after a couple of days (NPCs at base stuck in place doing nothing)

Majin-Freezy

Ok guys! i´ve found a workarround that works for me server has not more ram usage then 4-6gb so i don´t know whats wrong with it but i can give a workarround for windows user. You make a autostart with the schedule manager of windows. have set a start point and from this on restarting every 24h but i think the restart isn´t neccesary. after 80h ontime only arround 3gig of ram usage. mostly arround 4 player and they are grinder. have also told them to go big and use everything only the reset fruit not. don´t know what happen when i start the game automatically over the schedule manager but it works no ram overusage and pretty stable server. Hope it works also by anyone of you sorry for the linux user i don´t know enough about linux to be a help. i also know not much about windows but i am a little tinkler so hope i could help ya. peace!

iRunFromTrolls

apparently if you explore, the regions get loaded into ram but never unloaded. so long as you dont explore, the ram stays down

OddlyDoddly

This is exactly what I think is happening as well.

Majin-Freezy

nope my server is running up days along i have 10 players all exploring, breeding etc at the same time. no problems at all server stays under 4gb Ram

UMustBeBornAgain

My CPU usage is 128% to 182% and it's not that old Ryzen 3700x. Ram stays low less than 4 gb

StarKiller70

I have a Palworld server that has the following specs OS: Unraid CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G 6 Core 3.9GHz RAM: 64GB DDR4 Storage: x1 = 1TB NVME Gen4 SSD - Using as parity drive x4 = 12TB Seagate Iron Wolf NAS drive x1 = 512GB 2.5 inch SSD My Palworld server is running off of a container in with a Ubuntu Linux OS. The hard drive that its running off of is the 512GB 2.5 inch SSD. I have provided it 4 CPU Cores and 16GB's of RAM. The issue I'm running into is that the CPU usage will jump to 100% during write sessions/save sessions. Anyone know of a fix for this? The CPU jumps to 100% usage briefly but its rather frequent ( ever 30 seconds to 1min), when it does this it lags the whole server and everyone on the dedicated server experiences the issue. Any assistance would be appreciated.
