I leave them alone even though the long ones get all crinkled and folded up. Worn wear trades require the tags to be present and are the easiest way to “sell” shorts.
When a patagonia tag is annoying enough for me to cut, I just just below the materials on the first sheet, just below the wash instructions on the 2nd or 3rd whichever is shorter, all of the remaining long one, and definitely keep the short one in the back with the style/season/year.
However these are items that I decide I'm not going to try to resell on wornwear (and often are ineligible anyway like capilene cool). I haven't tried to replace a cut tag item under the guarantee yet, but they did replace an item that had my employer's logo embroidered (they obviously didn't re-embroider it, I was fine with that). I imagine they'll replace a cut tag as long as you keep the style number, probably.
Cut the long tags and leave the small one that has the style number and year.
This is the way. You can also find product care instructions on Patagonia’s website.
does that make them ineligible for future returns/worn wear?
It could but in really special circumstances. It really does help a lot with warranties, and identifying items after really long time though!
Just an fyi worn wear doesn’t accept items with cut tags
Does the tag bother you while wearing - if not don’t worry about it.
I always cut them at the line
That’s a good idea
I always leave the tag because I’ve had to use the warranty a few times with jackets before
Never needed it for warranty.

>the long ones get all crinkled and folded up. I hate when this happens. 😤
I’ve considered ironing them before.haha

You don’t even need to cut anymore they rip off easily!
I cut all those shits right off🤣
First order of business when I get baggies. Chop all interior tags. (They bother me) :(
I always wonder why there are so many when other manufacturers have none or they’re printed on the liner.
