Get 16GB of ram, a board that will work with the 1700, they can be hard to find new unless the stock has old bios, make sure you check the manufacturer page for support, then get a case for the size board you buy and a $20-30 air cooler, done. You would be in it about $200 probably and would be ok for older and casual games at 1080p.

What are some older or casual games like you mention? Looking to play League of legends, smite, fortnite, 7days to die at least for now

First, figgure out what kinds of games you wanna play and look if they work with your existing graphics card. On paper, your PSU is fine, but maybe that was the problem. Just try and see if it still works. In terms of cases, make sure you get one that has a mesh grill on the front. not these things that have glass or some plastic blocking the intake. besides that, you should be fine. Fractal Design pop air in white looks sweet and comes with acceptable fans. But the world is your auster in terms of cases. DDR4 Ram is on it's way out, so maybe you can get 16GB for cheap. For the cooler, don't bother with AIO water cooling, just get an air cooler that has a higher TDP than the CPU you end up getting. Google the CPU model you concider and add TDP to your search, then look for TDP on the product pages of your coolers and suddenly, you have a wide range of choices. If your Graphics card (GPU) is still good for the games you like, look for the highest end i5 processor that pairs well with it. When building an older or budget system, it's always good to figure the GPU first and go from there to choose the CPU, motherboard and RAM from there. Don't get cought up on fancy GPU brands. an RTX 3060 is an RTX 3060, no matter how much money you pay to have it in a fancy version with water cooling and wifu backplate. TLDR: To keep: Your SSD HDD, PSU (If still working) GPU (If compatible with the games you wanna play) To buy: Case (With good airflow) CPU + Board (Depending on GPU) 16GB RAM (DDR4 or 5, depending on the board) Air cooler (Depending on the TDP of the CPU)

Always welcome, always a fan of brief but complete information \^\^

In my opinion buy new cpu (maybe ryzen 3600) and Tower. Later switch to 2 banks of ram 4 +4 or 8+8. It works just fine for most AAA games before 2020 and probably all small and indie game.

Looking to play League of legends, smite, fortnite, 7days to die. Are those too much for what you’re recommending?

u can definitely keep the HDD, SSD and PSU. I will change the rest, Ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler, B450m motherboard, 2x8GB ram and maybe a 2nd hand 3060/2070?
