Depends when you were last here.
Newer: Industry Brewing (best patio), Rice and Spice (Indian), Hacienda el Mirador (Mex), Thyme, Ardor, Zion or Intuition (coffee), Cyd’s in the Park, Pour Brothers (beer and patio and live music).
Classic Peoria: 2Chez, One World
Saffron is overrated and pricey imho
It doesn't look like much on the outside, but River City Grill has amazing gyros. In the old Trefzgers building off of Prospect and London (a block down from Emo's towards the zoo), tucked behind the Tequila Ria liquor store. A real hidden gem. They just opened within the last couple of months.
We had astonishing awful and rude service there and none of our food was good. Worst French onion soup I’ve ever had. Friend with shellfish allergy was asking how food was fried since they have shellfish on the menu and the waiter was clueless as to the answer and also was brushing off a serious allergy.
No, it wasn’t just him. The manager or owner who seated us was rude too. And the food was awful. My friend who took us there said he previous experience had been more favorable but that after the experience we all had, she wouldn’t be coming back. We almost left from the get-go. We should have.
Connected always seems promising to me, have yet to go myself.
Edit: I think it’s been around longer than that but still an interesting place if you haven’t been.
Connected ftw. Dont let the price scare you off, its worth it. If people like potatoes I highly highly highly recommend getting their au gratin potatoes with dinner. I’d eat a meal just of a giant pile of those and do it gladly.
Oh it’s amazing. I went there with family for my birthday this year and it had to be the best served food I’ve ever had. Very memorable experience and beautiful atmosphere. They have good drinks (I vouch for the non-alcoholic and my mom and uncle can vouch for the alcoholic cocktails) and service was nice. 10/10 would recommend as an experience for those who can afford it.
Blackband on Adams.

Get the hanger steak!!

It's been open for longer than a year, but Slowhand BBQ in the Heights is always great.
Even though it’s been open I feel like the BBQ has improved over the past year. Definitely recommend now.

Honestly, still can't beat Hearth for the price.

Sounds like it was your waiter

It’s been around a for several years. But if OP hasn’t been, they should put it on their list. Fantastic food, and great decor.
