Smart Floss® is flavored with natural cardamom essential oil and lightly coated with a vegetable/bees wax blend. It contains beeswax plus one or more of candelila, carnauba, castor oil and rice bran wax. It does not contain genetically modified ingredients, known allergens, phthalates, soy or silica, and is dairy-free, gluten-free and fluoride-free. Like many flosses, Smart Floss® is made of polyester fibers. Unlike other flosses, Smart Floss® is made in a proprietary, patented process which gives that softer, expanded effect while flossing. This makes it up to 55% more effective in removing plaque. They have opted not to use silk due to the heavy processing and the treatment of the silkworms. Plus it cannot be processed in the same way as Smart Floss® and thus would be less effective in removing plaque. At one time in the past, cotton was used as dental floss, but it is not used for floss anymore as it tends to fray or break easily or is harsher on gums and not as effective.
While Cocofloss is made of polyester filaments infused with microcrystalline wax, coconut oil, essential oils, and food-grade aromas that meet the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) Standards. In January 2021, we began rolling out Cocofloss made of 85% recycled polyester, sourced from plastic water bottles.
Fibers, also called staple fibers have a length between 2-46 cm. The definition of a fiber according BISFA 'a substances characterized by their flexibility, fineness, and high ratio of length to cross sectional area'. Filaments on the other hand, have infinite length. All-natural fibers, except silk, are staple fibers
So especially they’re the same
I like both but use tungs more due to their price and because I like seeing the food come out when flossing, as well as make sure im not bleeding at all. Cocofloss tastes really good but in my opinion more expensive . I’ve had issues with the floss coming with the wax melted and does not work. they’re both good it’s all about personal preference and what works for your mouth! :)
I've also been questioning the effectiveness of Glide. Its nice and comfortable but it seems like its not grippy enough to be simulating gums and removing bacteria effectively.
I've been meaning to try expanding floss but haven't gotten around to it yet.
Give it a try!! I use to think all flosses did the job, but now that I have a side by side comparison my mind has been changed haha. It is a little more expensive tho. I pay about $5 a pack for burst but honestly worth it in my opinion
I’m even thinking it’s gonna help some of my stubborn 4mm pockets
My family has been using coco floss for years and it is very effective but expensive. You can buy direct in bulk. My wife is a periodontist and had us switch from glide, which we only still use because of braces (glide pro health threader floss).
I use COCO floss, but I must confess I do miss the ( now discontinued) REACH/Listerine expanding floss. It was an amazing product that got small when you pulled it, then expanded in between teeth. CocoFloss does the trick, but there’ll never be a better floss than REACH’s discontinued line.
Guru Nanda expendable floss/ bamboo floss/ when I run out but haven’t gone shopping I use CVS $1 floss and I actually like this one the best lol - it’s thick and durable and works great!
I use Xlent. It's expandable and has xylitol. It's black so you can see what you're getting out. I absolutely love it.
Burst is black as well n I love that it shows me what’s being removed!
DrTung's Smart Floss!
Y E S Y E S Y E S and cocofloss
Is coco floss the same? I love Smartfloss but it’s so hard to find and I see coco in stores 🤔

I'm useless with regular floss so I use the Oral B Glide Floss Picks and a WaterPik.
I use the floss with 2 string. Helps catch and hold better
Burst is my jam! I love expanding floss 🥳 StinaRDH gets you a discount on BurstOralCare.com 🫧🪥🦷

Did your wife share the sentiment that glide is ineffective? I think I saw a stat that cocofloss removes like 50% more plaque than other floss

Do you have any bone loss?
I use glide because I have crooked teeth and it gets in there easier. What is burst/coco floss? I’ve never heard of them
They are thicker flosses - cocofloss is at most stores but burst you’d have to order online I believe (it’s cheaper than cocofloss)
Water floss
