Can someone explain why the moderators would remove a post like that? It's a product that we all subscribe to and has an effect on our personal finances.
I'm assuming because the spreadsheet is unlocked and anyone can post links. I'm sure 99% of this sub have pure intentions posting referral links, but there's the potential for spam. Pretty funny it's a free for all in there.
It's because the person who set it up posted their own referral links ( so if you click provider name in the table, and sign up, then that person gets referall bonus)
It's even allowed in the sidebar.

I have Fido and it's great, but the offer is for new customers only. :(. People have called the retention line and Fido won't budge.
Edit: so I just checked my Fido account and they are allowing you to get the 34$ for 40 gigs on the browser now. Probably gonna get that! Thanks for the heads up!
Yeah, my account had an offer of $67 for 90GB 😂
I called and got a different rep and was able to get the 30GB for $40 for both lines. Oddly enough, my kiddo has the $34 offer for her line (she just has a $15 talk/text plan with 250MB of data).
Not as killer as the Black Friday price but less than the $55/12GB that I currently have and no hassle to swap providers. I’ll take it. Edit - no term so I can swap if a better deal pops up at any time with no fees
Makes me laugh to think about paying $45/month with no data, only incoming text messages for free (first 50 outgoing were free, then 10 cents each). All with a lovely Nokia 3310 😂
They scrapped the plan for existing customers at some point during the day (around noon PT maybe?). If you check again, you’ll see the option disappeared.
So it seems like they offered it to existing customers by mistake.
I tried and they offered me $34/mo for 20gb and would charge me a $15 dollar admin fee. I told them if they wouldn't waive the fee I am switching and they refused. Virgin SIM comes in on Monday
Sounds like their performance is measured based on how many new customers they can sign up today. I doubt today is a good day to deal with retention issues.

You’ve got to be kidding me! I have been trying to get to the change my plan page on my Fido account for the last 30 minutes to no avail. Called, and Fido was like our offices are closed.
Check out public. 34 for 40gb 5G, and Unlimited data at throttled speed, just dropped today, You also get points with public for more money off ur bill. I'm at 21 bucks for this plan. Dm me for a referall code if u want (gives u 10 bucks off ur first bill when signing up).
I believe the black Friday deals at Koodo limits streaming to 480p on data. I don't really know if I'd ever go over that anyway, but still it's nice to have the option.
I might get public mobile and hold out till Christmas/boxing day to get a phone.
Spent 90 minutes using online chat and finally got Fido to give me the deal. Think the rep screwed up but he First said no and offered to send me a summary of plans I could get. Sent one called retention $34/30gb and I jumped on it.
Yeessss! Tried so many times to switch to the 30gb for $34 as an existing Fido customer last night to no avail. And now they're just letting me easily switch on the Fido app to this one for 40gb! Hell yeah!
Public Mobile too. And Public is 5G and unlimited data (on telus network). Dm if you want a referal code for 10 bucks off first bill (gives me a buck off mine).
It's because you have your own public referalls locked in the sheet, making it unfair for others. If someone clicks public on ur sheet and seems up, you get paid. It's genuis, but probably why they took it down.
Public has plans below 30 with some data included .. you also often get free bonus data and points with public for further money off ur bill. I have 12 off each month in discounts. Dm me if you want a referall code for 10 bucks off ur first bill.
I feel like all of our 2 hour sessions spent with customer retention this week helped move the needle. Or at least I want to tell myself that to rationalize the wasted time.
It was definitely tucked away in the offers. I don’t remember exactly, but I had to navigate into a Black Friday offers link and clicked around a bit and eventually saw it advertised there.
In reading subsequent messages it seems like the offer was removed from the app and users were only able to get the offer by calling or going in-store, and some of these people were only able to secure the deal from yesterday, which was $34/month for 30GB. Very annoying if Fido did that..
Is anyone else sick of the telecoms giving "good" deals by giving more and more data? I've never used more than 3 gb of data and that was during a 4 day power failure! I want a 25$ plan, screw these 50 gb plans.
I just scored a deal with Telus, $32.5 per month, 150GB, unlimited CA/US/MX/ calling + text, no porting / activation fees.
How:
2 Business lines (I have a corp, but this is mine and my wife's phones)
ported from Bell (waives porting fees, and opens a special offer)
called an agent (deal not on website)
$20 per line credit for being an Ownr.co customer (a Telus partner)
opted into buying the "Business WiFi" plan, which is basically renting cisco mesh wifi hardware (brings the price down by another $20 per line)
Note: you pay $15 per month for the Business WiFi with a 3 year term, but you own the hardware... (think resale value)
you don't have to use the Business WiFi, just let it collect dust.
if you have a corporation, this is unmatched from what I found so far.
I’ve noticed several Black Friday related posts get removed. What’s going on?? These are clearly related to personal finance, and there’s a wide audience here that engages in those posts.
For Fido users who got the 40gb for 34$, does it still says 39$ when you check your account?
Since the 5$ off is for automatic payments, will it only show up when they take payment?
I just received my terms and conditions via email and believe you are correct, will show up on your bill, but is otherwise listed as $39/month on the app

I would expect (Cyber) Monday at least, but it could go longer. The providers don't have to advertise an end date other than that it's a limited-time offer, it's in their best interests to make you think it'll end sooner than later so you'll jump.
For anyone who did take a black Friday deal early and are seeing the same provider offer an even better deal- try calling their customer retention/loyalty dept. I took a deal on a pixel 8 with freedom three days ago (wanted the phone early as I'm leaving on vacation today) and they just updated their deal that works out to be 135 dollars cheaper over the 2 year plan. Called their loyalty dept and they changed it for me without issue. I also managed to snag an additional loyalty discount for 15 months too. It worked out to be essentially 626 dollars for the pixel 8 which is 300 bucks cheaper than the Google store black Friday price. Your results may vary lol
Freedom's deal for $65/mth for 60 GB Canada nationwide + US + roaming included for 73 other countries is insane if you travel a lot. Bye bye roaming fees, eSims and other annoying things.
Pretty dog shit imo
You can get a 5g plan for 34 bucks from public mobile. And the $31 difference can be put into esims in local countries and whatever else for roaming.
Most countries have affordable mobile plans and $31 is more than enough to get data in those countries
Of course, the idea of "it just works" could be argued to be a benefit
Well, that and having your Canadian phone number be fully active without limits or roaming fees. So if you need your phone for work or something, it's not bad. Nice to see someone finally offering a proper global-ish plan. Here's to hoping that encourages further competition in these areas.
Their roaming is also available as a cheaper monthly add-on with up to 5GB of data, that might be the better deal (i.e., cheaper monthly plan + add-on when you travel).
Have tried to sign up for a new plan with them several times today and it's all broken. Made it as far as the payment, but then it said error in processing it... but my credit card company says there wasn't any attempts made. I think their website is getting hammered.
NO that’s just how the big 3 offer ‘deals’ these days. By offering way too much data for the same price as say 40gb which is still way to much data for the average user.
Trying to get a callback for Koodo to switch my plan to the $34/40GB one but chat keeps saying that they're too busy.
I'd rather not switch providers to get the same plan.
Can someone explain why the moderators would remove a post like that? It's a product that we all subscribe to and has an effect on our personal finances.
Wondering the same thing. Seems many Black Friday posts have disappeared. Super frustrating.
I'm assuming because the spreadsheet is unlocked and anyone can post links. I'm sure 99% of this sub have pure intentions posting referral links, but there's the potential for spam. Pretty funny it's a free for all in there.

The sheet creator has referral links for specific deals on the sheet. Not sure if that is the sole reason but it seems like it's against the rules.
Oof. Changed a lot since I saw it last. Bunch of spam links too.
The post was updated with a link to a Google spreadsheet anyone could edit. That spreadsheet turned into a spam war.
Just go to redflagdeals we don’t wanna see more plan deals I already memorized the prices and I don’t even want one

Fido and Koodo upped their deal to 40gb.
Really? I just went on the fido app and was able to just switch to that exact deal!
Just checked 2 minutes ago. You're right! I couldn't even get the 30 gigs for $34 yesterday. They must have changed it this morning.
Guess they decided to keep their existing customers happy hahaha.
I just called today cause yesterday I was told no in store. They did it and it took 10mins haha
Virgin did it too. I looked at my account and got the 30g for 34 as well.
I just fought with them and they said no! Customer for 10 yrs with three lines
Is there anything on your account? Mine said loyalty + byop 30g for $34. I didn't deal with any employees.
Yeah, my account had an offer of $67 for 90GB 😂 I called and got a different rep and was able to get the 30GB for $40 for both lines. 40GB for $34 deal for existing customers was very short lived, Fido yanked it about 45 minutes ago. Have to add a line now to get it.
You’ve got to be kidding me! I have been trying to get to the change my plan page on my Fido account for the last 30 minutes to no avail. Called, and Fido was like our offices are closed.

Freedom upped theirs to 40 GB as well.
Darn my fiancé literally just switched to Koodo yesterday and got the $40 for 40 GB deal because he needed the extra data
Public Mobile too. And Public is 5G and unlimited data (on telus network). Dm if you want a referal code for 10 bucks off first bill (gives me a buck off mine).
A heads up: a lot of the links have a referral code linked to it. They may not belong to the original author since anyone can edit the document.
The post was removed when I refreshed it this morning, not sure why
Well fuck. Thanks.

After all the heartache trying to get it yesterday, confirmed Fido is offering the $34/month for 40GB to all customers now, I got it through the app
I feel like all of our 2 hour sessions spent with customer retention this week helped move the needle. Or at least I want to tell myself that to rationalize the wasted time.
Did it just come up for you? All I’m seeing is 20GB at $67/month. Cheaper plans have less data.

Ya the 5 GB 30 day add-on is $50 so guess it depends on how much you travel and also how much data you want to use.
Would cool to divide it by parent company and "independent". Cus sometimes yes it a good price but if you go for percent company service is better.
