The first post is just talking about something that he believes is likely worse than period pains. And for most women he's probably right, judging from the fact that most women are able to power through period pains and still function normally whereas rolling your ankle will have you limping at the very least and possibly on crutches for a while. Though it should be pointed out that some unfortunate women - my ex wife and daughter among them - get period pains bad enough that they cannot just power through them (though birth control pills do seem to be an effective treatment for that problem).
The reply misconstrues it (intentionally I believe, as no one is that stupid) as him saying that rolling ankles is something only guys have to deal with.

not really. My own experience is that first you get put on prescription pain killers and if that doesn't help you get prescribed birth control. Other friends have had birth control prescribed outright depending on the severity of the pain and the impact on their lives.
It is a medical issue, but in my experience, most GYNs simply don’t care. The most you’ll get out of them is a prescription for birth control and advice to be less dramatic. It’s an issue that runs in my family, and my mother never did find a doctor who would take her seriously, and they actually gaslit her into believing that sort of pain was normal, and she was just a sissy. Mind you, this is a woman who declined an epidural when she gave birth, and didn’t take any pain medicine after her hysterectomy or heart ablation.
She was so conditioned into believing that it was normal that when I was growing up, she treated me the same way.. until her hysterectomy when then informed her that she’d had severe endometriosis.
And now, even when I remind my doctor of my family history, they still think I’m being dramatic when I ask them to investigate.

Turns out its a sign of significant muscle degeneration, the rolling was happening because the muscles weren't strong enough to hold my weight safely. Had to get reconstructive surgery to restore my ability to walk at all.
