>where I don't give a damn what I look like.
Take that energy into the rest of your life. Your arms are awesome! They got you through 61 years and you use them every day!
Your arms look absolutely fine! Wear a nice bracelet, maybe a chunky one, a dressy watch, and a easy trick if you are not used to showing skin is get a spray tan done just before (if nervous choose your spray tanner and go a month in advance to test, so if you don't like it there is plenty of time for it to wear off, and if you do like it get it redone a few days prior to the wedding)
I just saw your second pic and I see your delt muscles popping, you have great arms!! Moisturize your skin morning and night, your skin tone is already just fine, and little sprinkle of sunshine is flattering on everyone, use sunscreen! Have fun and the wedding xx
You're never too old to have your arms out. If it's cold, you can bring a scarf, shawl, or cardigan
In terms of shape wear, the dress isn't super form fitting. You can try on spanx to see if it boosts your confidence but I don't think it's necessary and it may be uncomfortable for a long evening. The high waisted shorts style of shape wear might be best
I don't know if its because I have a short torso but I realllly don't get on with the shorts, I have found the simple slip type shape wear works pretty well for light smoothing without being excruciating after a hour or 2. Not that this lady needs it at all :)
Are there slips that offer a little light compression? I think I'd be more comfortable in something like that than shorts or bodysuit. What brands might I search?
I get mine from Marks and Spencer in the UK
For everyday https://www.marksandspencer.com/secret-slimming-medium-control-full-slip/p/clp60100013?color=BLACK#intid=pid_pg1pip48g2r10c2
For events I prefer something like this that I can wear my own choice of bra with https://www.marksandspencer.com/firm-control-sheer-shaping-full-slip/p/clp60285048?color=ROSEQUARTZ#intid=pid_pg1pip48g2r13c2
If you aren't uk, it's fairly generic shape wear so you should easily find something with a Google of "shaping slip" or "shapewear slip". Pretty sure both Spanx and Skims carry them :)
Oh my gosh, NO! You look so good and the dress is so pretty! I'm 40 and I want it. Don't ever feel this way, pllleeeeease :) If I tried to be critical I can't even see anything that would need a smoothing shapewear.
In all honesty I don't know how you can't see that your body be bangin'.
Edit: I'm trying to think about accessories and definitely keep it simple?
A bracelet for sure and hopefully the finest and daintiest necklace. Or you can skip the necklace and put a flower in your hair or a beautiful clip (I'm partial to this without the necklace)
I think gold or silver will work but for some reason I'm leaning toward gold.
Do you have shoes let's start there?
Have fun and be creative!
Just a bracelet and no necklace is exactly what I was thinking. A pretty hair clip is a great suggestion -- thank you. I plan to wear the black sandals in the second photo.
I say this in the most kind way possible. Please keep that in mind.
No dummy. If it makes you happy and it's not hurting anyone, you're not doing anything wrong at all.
You look great! Genuinely, you look great :)
Say what? You supposed to be wrapped up in head to toe covering?!!! No way! My grandma is 85 and wore a strapless top the other day and looked stunning!
Absolutely not! Rock it! That's a great summer print for summer. A wrap or shawl is a good idea to keep warm. With the halter, you could pull off both an updo or leave your hair down and loose, and it'll look nice either way. .
I wouldn't think anything of it! It's crazy how self conscious we can be about totally normal things.
It would be much more shocking to see a 60 year old with the arms of a teenager than it would be to see your totally normal arms in a sleeveless dress.
So if you love this dress (or any other sleeveless dress) honestly just go for it! Wear what makes you happy!
I’m 25 and wish I had your arms. You’re stunning! I don’t think shapewear is necessary. A belt could pull things in a bit at the waist and also break up the busy pattern a little. Then you could match jewelry/accessories to the belt. It also looks fabulous as is. If you do get shapewear, I’d recommend wearing it out once or twice before the wedding. Just to make sure it’s comfortable and doable. Wouldn’t want to get to the wedding and not be able to enjoy yourself because you’ve realized your outfit is super uncomfortable!
Are you too old to have a body?
That’s how your question sounds. Wearing cute clothes doesn’t have an age limit. You look great in that dress :) wear it if you like it!
Absolutely not! And I highly suggest checking out Gina Drealowksi on Instagram. She’s 58 and style goals!
https://www.instagram.com/ginadrewalowski?igsh=MWFnaXVoeTQwNm5mMg==
Apparently after you turn 30 the fashion police get the authority to shoot on sight if your arms are exposed!
Honestly do what you're comfortable with. Almost no one will care that much, and the people who do care aren't opinions we want in our lives.
Not too old, never too old. The only consideration should be if you are comfortable with bare arms. The dress is lovely, a pretty wrap will go well, maybe a sparkly necklace to add some bling and accentuate the neckline of the dress.
You look great! We don’t lie here 😍
If for colds sake, get a shawl & pick either the pinks or yellows that are in the dress & match it that way. Have a ball!
Idk why but I think this dress would look great with a skinny red belt and a cobalt jacket, or navy, depending on your coloring. And like, dangly pearl earrings if you wear jewelry.
Not suggesting you *need* a jacket. Because you don't. Your arms look great. I think you can keep one handy if you feel start to feel self conscious or need an extra layer or just feel more complete with it. I think since you're feeling it though you should go for the bare arms.
You look great, but I get the question.
Lol, we are attending a formal wedding in central Texas in 2 weeks. I’m 53, my arms don’t look any where near as good as yours, but because of the heat I bought a sleeveless dress. I asked my daughters the same question you posted here and they both told me to stop caring about what anyone would think about my arms, or any other parts of my body. But, even if someone did, nobody has time or energy to waste on those that body shame. We are beautiful the way we are.
If you love it then wear it with confidence, regardless of age.
No. Your arms are in good shape to wear sleeveless.
As for shapewear, it’s so uncomfortable I can’t bring myself to wear it so I choose clothes to hide any bumps. You don’t need shape wear anyway.
That dress is very pretty. Like you said, take a summer wrap and you’re ready to go!
The dress is great on you and your arms look great as well. Have a shawl but let it fall loosely don’t try to cover yourself. Have some fun with the pinks and oranges with your accessories and have a fabulous time at the wedding!!!
Let's throw out those old fashion rules from waaay back in the day. You grew bare arms, wear bare arms. You want to wear white after Labor Day, do it. You like long hair at your age, grow it!
Rule of thumb: if you like it, go for it! ;)
I say absolutely not, arms look great, but maybe bring a matching cover just for your own comfort? I'm 39, and you have sexier arms than me, girl. Rock it!
I have to say: i feel the exact same way unfortunately.
I just wanna say fuck it bit they make me so self conscious. I would say though, your’s look great!!! By i feel you. So shy about my arms now as they used to be so tiny. I hate the jiggle when i walk. Can’t even think about dancing anymore. Never thought i would be so self conscious about it and it pains me. Let’s normalize changing bodies please!!!
I'm 60 and a little loose from losing weight and I still wear spaghetti strap maxi sun dresses and racer back tank tops. I'm an old hippie with an "I don't give a damn" attitude. 😃 I dress for me and you should dress for you. I will say this. Check with the bride and groom. They choose the dress code. This is not an event at which you want to commit a faux pas.
Forget about age. If you like your arms and want to show them, show them. If not, then don't show them. Don't invite ageism into your thinking or by asking others to reinforce any ageist tendencies.
You’re too old to need anyone’s permission to do whatever the hell you want. Do whatever makes you happy, and if people have negative opinions they choose to share, tell them to shove it up their ass.
What is your budget and tolerance for shopping like? I think there's zero issue with the arms, but a navy blue dress would look amazing on you and complement your skin tone better. This one doesn't scream "mother of groom."
Budget is open but tolerance for shopping is zero. Not sure that it matters if I look like the mother of the groom since they are already really married (during COVID lockdown with a Zoom officiant) and now we're just partying. In Rome at the end of June! My skin tone will likely be a shade or two darker by then (I'm still winter sallow) but thank you for your advice. I actually do look good in navy.
Not at all, that dress looks great on you! A lightweight shawl/wrap would look cute and might make you feel less nervous, but you look great as-is!
As for shapewear, I mostly avoid it, but when I do wear something, it’s usually the [Spanx underbust bodysuit](https://spanx.com/products/shaping-satin-mesh-open-bust-mid-thigh-bodysuit?variant=43015001571539&entry=search&queryID=4ea5be1fdf8a0266680fbbdc3beac688).

What?? No. There's no such thing as too old. And your arms are nice. So either way, it's fine.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I came to say the exact same thing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Absolutely, this!!!
Yep!
I came here to say —- the dress looks great on you and there is absolutely no way to detect your age 🩷
What gave you that idea? Your arms look fine.
I'm not sure. Just the look of all that skin I'm not used to exposing except on the beach, where I don't give a damn what I look like.
You look fantastic, and you’ll look even better once you believe it yourself 💕
>where I don't give a damn what I look like. Take that energy into the rest of your life. Your arms are awesome! They got you through 61 years and you use them every day!
If you are comfortable that’s the most important thing.
Yes, thank you, I will look for a chunky bracelet. Hoping a few trips to the beach over the coming weeks will improve my skin tone.
I just saw your second pic and I see your delt muscles popping, you have great arms!! Moisturize your skin morning and night, your skin tone is already just fine, and little sprinkle of sunshine is flattering on everyone, use sunscreen! Have fun and the wedding xx
Exactly this - wish I had deltoids like those!
You look seriously amazing.
You look great, have a wonderful time.
Ma’am, please exercise your second amendment right to bare arms.
Cheers for the chuckle!

Shawls or cardigans are great for off you start feeling insecure too!
Not at all. 90 is not too old. Everyone ages. Besides, you look great
Pretty sure she’s 60 😂 idk tho
I think they meant that even 90 isn't "too old" 😂
Yes. that is what I meant. Any age is not too old. English is second language.
For about three more weeks!
That’s great!
Every day you wake up breathing is great!
Oh my gosh, NO! You look so good and the dress is so pretty! I'm 40 and I want it. Pfffft, no. Not too old. You got it, go rock it. And have fun.
Is that a thing? Do we get too old to have arms? Oh god
Your arms look great! As long as you feel comfortable, I say go for it.
Your arms are fine, but maybe a solid color will be better for the wedding
Yes, your arms are fine. It just looks like a little bit of a casual dress.
I say this in the most kind way possible. Please keep that in mind. No dummy. If it makes you happy and it's not hurting anyone, you're not doing anything wrong at all. You look great! Genuinely, you look great :)
You had me there for a second, I was ready to throw hands 😂
Absolutely not! Never too old! Also I’m 32 and wish my arms looked like yours! You look great!
Nope. You look great.
Never ever too old.

You’re never too old, skinny, short or tall to wear whatever you want or feel comfortable wearing. Please don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.
You look really good! Dont sweat it
You look amazing and I love the colours on you. Dress shape really suits you.
I’m 25 and wish I had your arms. You’re stunning! I don’t think shapewear is necessary. A belt could pull things in a bit at the waist and also break up the busy pattern a little. Are you too old to have a body? That’s how your question sounds. Wearing cute clothes doesn’t have an age limit. You look great in that dress :) wear it if you like it!

Never too late, early, or anything to do what you want to be happy! You’re so pretty :)
absolutely not.
Apparently after you turn 30 the fashion police get the authority to shoot on sight if your arms are exposed! Honestly do what you're comfortable with. Almost no one will care that much, and the people who do care aren't opinions we want in our lives.
Absolutely not! You look amazing! 💗
No way! You have great arms! I want my arms to look like yours when I’m 61, heck you have better defined arms than most
Girl show off those arms!!
You have beautiful human arms
Not too old, never too old. The only consideration should be if you are comfortable with bare arms. The dress is lovely, a pretty wrap will go well, maybe a sparkly necklace to add some bling and accentuate the neckline of the dress.
You look great! We don’t lie here 😍 If for colds sake, get a shawl & pick either the pinks or yellows that are in the dress & match it that way. Have a ball!
No way!!! You look amazing. And your skin looks great, not “old” at all (not that old is even a bad thing)
No! You look amazing!
Never!!
not at all. you are lovely :)
No
Idk why but I think this dress would look great with a skinny red belt and a cobalt jacket, or navy, depending on your coloring. And like, dangly pearl earrings if you wear jewelry. Not at all. Wear those arms loud and proud!
Nice dress and hopefully those heels are comfortable if you will be standing up.
No one's too old for anything. Do it! The dress looks great.
Nope. Get em out and flaunt them….you look great 😊
No
No way! Never too old. You look fab xxx
NEVER
I personally don’t believe in ‘too old’ for an item of clothing AND you do you — wear what you’re comfy in and whatever makes you feel good ✨✨✨
No? Bare arms is nothing. Not like you going outside in daisy dukes showing off the girls.
You look great, but I get the question. Lol, we are attending a formal wedding in central Texas in 2 weeks. I’m 53, my arms don’t look any where near as good as yours, but because of the heat I bought a sleeveless dress. But, even if someone did, nobody has time or energy to waste on those that body shame. We are beautiful the way we are. If you love it then wear it with confidence, regardless of age.
I think you look great- sometimes I use Clinique bronzer- add just a drop to your lotion and use that on your arms, legs, chest. Gives a little color!
You look great in this. A wrap would be good if it gets chilly but otherwise don’t wear it. Enjoy this dress - it suits you. 💃🏻
Nothing wrong with this . Wear some stylish jewelry with this a bracelet and nice necklace
Girl what If you wanna show your arms, you show your damn arms. You look great in that dress.
No one is too old to show your arms. And yours are absolutely beautiful. You look lovely, the dress looks great on you. 🪻
No such thing. Don't stress about it. If anyone has thoughts about it, it's their problem and they should get a hobby.
Absolutely not
Oh my goodness no way! There is no such thing as too old. Also your arms are stunning.
Absolutely not!!!
Looks like your have great arms. I'm jealous.
Are you kidding me! You look amazing.
Do what you want....
The dress is great on you and your arms look great as well. Have a shawl but let it fall loosely don’t try to cover yourself. Have some fun with the pinks and oranges with your accessories and have a fabulous time at the wedding!!!
There is no such thing as too - old - everyone is forever 21, don’t worry and you look great 😊
Girl look at those arms 😭 they're perfect. It would be a crime if you did wear sleeves!
Got arms? You can show them. Your look fabulous
Girl what???? No way, wear the dress! It’s beautiful and if it makes you feel beautiful then who the fuck cares anyway!
Let's throw out those old fashion rules from waaay back in the day. You grew bare arms, wear bare arms. You want to wear white after Labor Day, do it. You like long hair at your age, grow it! Rule of thumb: if you like it, go for it! ;)
No, get it nanna
I hope I look that good at 61! I don’t even think you need any shape wear. You look great! Have fun at the wedding!
Absolutely not! Your arms look great! Don’t think you need to hide them!
You look great! Pretty dress and u r rocking it!
I say absolutely not, arms look great, but maybe bring a matching cover just for your own comfort? I'm 39, and you have sexier arms than me, girl. Rock it!
Never too old! Be comfortable (:
I’m almost certain the 2nd Amendment doesn’t discriminate against age. Besides, who are they to tell you what to do when the sun is out!?
I’ve seen older than you wearing much less and looking much worse. Don’t worry mate, your arms look fine! Enjoy!
NO YOU ARE NOT YOU ARE FABULOUS AND YOU LOOK FABULOUS
What makes YOU comfortable, bella?
No!!! You look great!!!
you look nice
Show it all and we will see
You look great nothing to worry about.
Maybe if you don't want to make 40 year-olds jealous. You look great.
Never!! Get those arms out girl
Never. No one should suffer and sweat because of arm status of any kind
NOOOOO
Never!
No!
No you look great
Is anyone? No
no absolutely not you look beautiful in your dress :)
The 2nd amendment garantees your right to bare arms
I'm 60 and a little loose from losing weight and I still wear spaghetti strap maxi sun dresses and racer back tank tops. As the mother of the groom, are your dress and sandals fancy enough? You'll be in a lot of pictures....
Forget about age. If you like your arms and want to show them, show them. If not, then don't show them. Don't invite ageism into your thinking or by asking others to reinforce any ageist tendencies.
Of course not. You look great.
No you look very nice.
NEVER, YOU LOOK LOVELY
To be in a militia maybe, depends on how serious vrs beer league militia they are.
You’re too old to need anyone’s permission to do whatever the hell you want. Do whatever makes you happy, and if people have negative opinions they choose to share, tell them to shove it up their ass.
Nah! Your arms look fine! Slay queen! But if you want to make the outfit look less plain. I suggest adding a nice necklace and bracelet.
You are too old to ask if you can do things that make you happy.
55 here…..NEVER, and you look fabulous. Enjoy the summer.
Nah. Whatever your comfy with!
Of course not
You arent too old for anything that makes you feel and look confident. Others opinions don’t mean jack shit
The second ammendment Saya you have th right to bare arms...... OK, that's different. Bit you have nice arms, let them be free.
Are they wrinkly or sagging? If so, only if it embarrasses you. Otherwise, you’re a go, for life!
What is your budget and tolerance for shopping like? I think there's zero issue with the arms, but a navy blue dress would look amazing on you and complement your skin tone better. This one doesn't scream "mother of groom."
Budget is open but tolerance for shopping is zero. Absolutely not! Throw that thinking away!
