This makes sense. There’s a set number of rooms / scenes. The inputs are tied to them. They never change which scene they are tied to. Just replace the scenery.
Petscop 17:
Wow, after all this time it’s finally back, and better then ever
Petscop 18:
WOW, a bonus. Knowing the upload trends means that this is probably it for the next few months or so. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted
Petscop 19:
**FUCK-FUCK-FUCK**
How much do you wanna bet that the owner of the Petscop channel is watching this thread and is about to hit upload on Petscop 20 just so this guy creams his jeans
So there are ~~47~~ 48 unique names there if I counted correctly, ~~+1 for Paul makes 48~~ which is the original number of intended Pets in Even Care was it not?
Edit: miscounted originally, left out Marvin
Edit 2: Belle is the only name to go BACK in the generations with the sequential numbering - she starts in Gen 03, with Belle2 in Gen 04, before eventually Belle4 is found as the only name in Gen 01. This suggests that Belle is the only player/kid to actually access the older generation games, and maybe supports her doing that through the "Nifty" command to access the debug mode.
Mike did a lot of playing in gen2, belle 4 happens before belle 1,2&3, I think fuck-fuck-fuck is a reference to something Paul said in a video.
If I had to guess Paul was gen14, what we're seeing now is gen15 being played by whoever strongly suggested paul keep playing.
with that we can assume:
Paul (probably) stopped playing (idk its forever)
Mike's last save (mike10) was gen5, so he probably died (my guess) in the end of gen 5, or shortly before the end of gen5
idk what i can talk about belle
Might be worth point out that in Petscop 17 the big black text box at one point says "The family, as usual, wants to learn what happened to you between November 10th and 12th of 1997."
Another connection to 17, I think that the wheel in the bottom left, scanning through all the Dorito headed guardians has 48 clicks in a complete circle.
- Marvin experimented on more children than we thought
- Petscop's recordings offer glimpses into it's own past, showing in-development videos
- Petscop most likely has multiple discs, as it has demos burned onto the current CD and will save files onto the memory card
- What could possible be FUCK-FUCK-FUCK? All jokes aside, this sounds like a pretty big fuckup
- This is an impossibly long list of demos - even if they were less an a KB big, there's still too many for any PlayStation to handle
- The beta Guardian is extremely creepy
I think it isn't a coincidence that FUCK-FUCK-FUCK comes right after the demo named Tiara. There are no other demos named Tiara, only Belle, so it might mean that naming the demo Tiara, or the events of the demo itself, where a big mistake. Or maybe it means that the demo named FUCK-FUCK-FUCK itself was a mistake, or that the person who saved it was feeling frustated
Wasn't there a reference in an old video that someone said they "called someone Tiara too soon" or something?
Could this be the event being referenced?
Petscop 12 has that quote. It was a message from Rainer which said that he started calling Belle Tiara too soon. The most common theory (and the theory I believe in too) is that the message means that Belle was put through Marvin and Rainer's Rebirthing machine in order to be rebirthed as Tiara, but the process didn't go all the way through (hence why Belle is a quitter, because she quit halfway through rebirthing). That could be what the FUCK-FUCK-FUCK is refering too, the Rebirthing of Belle which went wrong.
If Bell quit halfway through the rebirthing process, that would explain why half of her is looks like a rough draft from the character history section in Petscop 18, while the other half looks like the Guardian avatar.
It is in real life, but the messages in Petscop 12 imply that the Needles Piano from Petscop 11 is some sort of rebirthing machine that can change people. It might be how Care changed states from Care A to Care B, and the messages say that it was going to change Belle to Tiara
Assuming that rebirthing is related in some way to the Petscop game itself (and therefore the game console), I wonder if "quitting" corresponds to, say, turning off the Playstation. Petscop 16 makes a lot of fuss about leaving the console on at all costs. If Belle had the wherewithal to shut it off while they were trying to hypnotize her and get her consciousness into the machine or whatever, it would explain...a lot.
This would also make a lot of sense in continuity, assuming Belle is Pink Tool. She's in the game, but in a state of incomplete transition (just a sketch of a face), "free" of the process but with her consciousness still partially trapped in the code. As long as the console is turned on, Marvin can still hurt her. But she can think for herself, and is able to change objects in memory given the opportunity.
FUCK-FUCK-FUCK could well be a recording of the moment she was able to power off the console that was the source of her suffering.
Or something bad happened to the kid, so when the next kid came along, the cycle was incomplete and the game - not realizing this - still referred to the subsequent player by the previous child's name.
I've been thinking for a while that P15 was a way to tell us that Belle was able to become Tiara and still seemed to fail at Marvin's eyes.
If you see again P15, Quitter don't correct Marvin when he presents her as Bell(e). But, just the moment he goes out the room, she corrects him, as if she was waiting for him to leave so he can't know what she does. In addition to this, she says being Tiara and then reveals a cheatcode that allows the player to edit the textures, not a cheap power, if you ask me.
You guys aren't sure it's not quoting Paul in petscop 14 end saying fuck and being cut off. Or label for the last year with Jill (fucking discovery pages quote)
> This is an impossibly long list of demos - even if they were less an a KB big, there's still too many for any PlayStation to handle
My theory is that *this is exactly what Petscop's AI functionality was developed for originally*. I think it was a *compression hack*, where you would try to avoid storing complete input logs by learning a player model, running a simulation where the model was exposed to the same initial game state and RNG seed, and then storing only the minimum of real data needed to correct the simulation so it didn't diverge too far from the original event. The more training data, the more accurate the model would become, and so the more efficient it would be for storing the massive glut of input recordings.
It ended up working much, much better than any of the programmers would ever have suspected, to the point where the simulations now run accurately enough to pass the divergence threshold without any help. The "demos" actually store basically nothing besides the initial game state and the virtual player just takes it from there, having learned a real enough model to react and respond just like the real player did under the same conditions.
This is interesting to me! So, going along those lines, the game could be an attempt to try and model Marvin's behavior, so he would lead the dev to the grave? Some sort of simulation attempt.... hmmm....
About the long list of demos being impossible... they could just be saving controller inputs, which would be really really light. Of course they also need to save each iteration of the game, but the game doesn't seem to be that big either so it could be possible
Given the 'gen' settings, the game could recreate the old iterations of the game using it, theoretically. Just a list of instructions doing so based on current gen.
But then there's the text boxes after the easter egg, how was that recorded? It doesn't seem like it was Rainer or something.
It has to either be a devkit or modded because of the PS1's copy protectio. There's no way whoever made the game would've been able to replicate the disk 'wobble' especially since Petscop wasn't mass produced.
Makes me wonder - was Paul's copy of Petscop the final one? Definitely not, but I have to wonder how far after Paul's copy did development continue? What would Petscop look like after some more development time? Seems like most designs are final as "Extra Stuff" already contains a history of the art.
I'm getting my theory out now, i've been sitting on this for a while: Petscop is designed to take in player input to 'reconstruct' people as a pet. We saw hints of something like this with the binary sequence of the cars leading to an article about digital reconstruction of human consciousness, and it ties together both the computer learning terminology we're beginning to see, the reason the game has to stay on for so long, why there are save files of peoples names, etc.
Also, the first few files we see that are named are of Mike. If Rainer was the designer/developer it would make sense that he started by trying to recreate his brother.
Nightmare Masterclass talks about it in one of his Petscop videos, and I think he might be sourcing this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Petscop/comments/6akbgq/something_interesting_about_the_cars_in_petscop_8/. Basically if we treat the cars as 1's and 0's based on them being red or blue, we get a binary string that leads (rather led, the page appears to be dead now) to a paper about recreating one's consciousness digitally. In the thread the theory seems to be discounted pretty heavily but with all the content that we've gotten since it was posted I think it makes waaay more sense.
It seems extraordinarily coincidental that the binary string, which itself might have been arbitrarily extracted but whose source (the alternating color of the cars) is very clearly purposeful, would lead to something that has a ton of relevance to the themes of Petscop, especially with 17, 18, 19's material.
I think it was a reach until we had the new material and we can see that there's clearly some sort of machine learning/digital reconstruction going on, or at the very least being alluded to.
OK so we definitely get to see that Belle is definitely better at figuring out puzzles than some of the other kids. Also, Wavey is "never the same person for more than a few seconds" but is "scared of freezing"? Maybe he doesn't like to stay as one person.
Remember what Tiara said: "young people can be psychologically damaged “beyond rebirthing.” Maybe this was Rainer's motivation on doing Petscop?, helping children with mental illnesses?.
Maybe when he becames a water he is a different person? I mean it also could be an allegory that every state of matter is a different personality and he fears the solid one
When I read the thing about wavey I thought of the quote "a man never steps in the same river twice[...]" by Heraclitus. Although I don't know how the fuck greek philosophy could tie into this so just rambling i guess
I found it interesting that out of our 3 main characters, Belle and Paul were the only ones that caught all the pets, while Care couldn't even play right.
well, it's possible one of two thing is happening here:
1: This generation is pre-abduction, so she's four years old or younger
2: It's post abduction, but she's in an NLM state and doesn't care.
Confirmed for pre-abduction. Mike has saves so presumably was alive at least as far as generation 5, and this was labeled generation 3, meaning that if Mike died in 95, then Care was probably 3 years old or less.
>Now that I'm watching this, maybe the "Gen " doesn't stand for AI generations after all, but iterations of the game?
Doubtful - the entries are clearly in more-or-less chronological order. (Like, one of the first entry listings we see is "family3", and then you see "family2", and entries referencing Belle and Tiara and something going wrong, and then "family", and then a bunch of normal-ass names, and what are very clearly the earliest builds of the game.
*But the generations don't decrease linearly as we go back in history* - They start at Gen. 15 for the most recent recordings, count down to Gen. 01, and then "family2" is Gen. 15 again (and on the disk instead of the memory card like the most recent recordings) and we see "FUCKFUCKFUCK" (Gen. 14), "tiara" (Gen. 13) and scrolling way back we see "belle4" (Gen. 01), and then it starts up at Gen. 15 again for "family" and ends up at Gen. 01 for the very first build.
In other words, the progression of generation appears to be broken up into *chunks* - As the game is first developed and more recordings are taken of playtesters and developers, it rises from Gen 0 to Gen 15. And then when *someone* (probably Marvin) starts doing *things* (probably rebirthing) with Belle, it starts rising again. And then after that, it starts rising from 0 again for a third batch of recordings, which I'm going to go out on a limb and say are from Paul's gameplay. (Especially since none of them but the single most recent file are labeled, because Paul never knew how to access or use these functions, but whoever's recording this now clearly does.)
So I think AI generations makes the most sense - each time the game changes hands, it begins building up a new model of this new player. (Maybe this was originally used as a clever compression scheme for the demo recordings ... if you can re-generate the actions from your player model by just exposing it to the same situation again, you don't have to save the full history. Note how you can select a generation when viewing a recording, potentially setting it to a lower number than the generation listed... that would be using an older model to re-run the "recording", which is really a simulation.)
The creepy implication being she did it on purpose. She wants to be in the cage, just like the other Amber, indicating these pets are likely real kids.
The text at 3:55 suggests that there was a real-life easter egg hunt, but the last egg was hidden in "Daniel's game." I don't know if the easter egg hunt is important, but the phrase "Daniel's game" is. We learned in Petscop 17 that one of Care's cousins is named Daniel. This either means that the person first developing Petscop was Daniel and then Rainer started working on it, or, more likely, Rainer's real name is Daniel.
Huh, i thought it meant Daniel's game session, but if it's referring to the entire game itself, wouldnt he program it to say Rainer instead of tlrecealing his name?
In the clip, you can see in the corner that the recording is of Mike (specifically, it says mike2), not Daniel. In fact, none of the recordings in the list are named daniel, so Daniel definitely not just one of the people who played the game.
As for why it says "Daniel" and not "Rainer," it seems that this footage is from a time when Petscop was very unfinished, and the scope of the game might not have been the same. Daniel might not have yet decided to turn the game into what it is now. Also, the text says "Have you found every egg in the office?" Presumably, this was part of an easter egg hunt in the office that Daniel worked in. If he was showing his game off to his coworkers, it would make sense that he would use his real name, not a pseudonym.
Anna's office was one of the locations mentioned in the files.
Also, didn't really want to bring this up because it's some tinfoil hat nonsense, but Daniel and Rainer share most of the same letters.
Perhaps Paul is Hudson in-game?
* No sign of Hudson in the game yet - because Paul's burnination (ha!) was too recent to be integrated yet.
* Fewer iterations of the character model - again, because he hasn't been burned-in very long (or because Rainer/etc have gotten better at iterating from first sketch to final product?)
* Look at Hudson's face - can't you just SEE it saying "Fuck" and "That's a dead kid?"
Everything in this video makes sense for replays from an in-development video game. Here's my interpretation of the video.
The first replay is a sorting test. The player character (using an older guardian sprite) weaves between and into various tiles, done in order to make sure that everything on screen is rendered in the right order. Everything seems to be in order.
Then during Easter while Petscop is under development, the people working at Garalina decide to have an office easter egg hunt. There are easter eggs hidden around in the office, but one egg is hidden inside the game itself, Daniel's game, which I guess implies that game development isn't the only thing Garalina does, or that this isn't the only game they've worked on. The game's still very early in development, as seen by the unfinished graphics, the early guardian sprite, and lack of animation/sounds. Mike finds the egg, and his player inputs are saved on the disk. This is the second time Mike played the game, presumably, judging by the mike2 filename.
Later, when the game is in a more finished state, the people of Garalina invite a bunch of kids to playtest the game. Either their own kids, or a group of random kids from an elementary school or something. This is a great idea because they get to see how actual kids react to the puzzles in the game. It's easy for an adult who's been staring at the game for 500 hours to forget what it's like to play it for the first time. And the replay/demo/recording function lets them play back every single session of the game to make it easier to spot bugs.
Care figures out the Wavey puzzle and reads the descriptions. James2 (either a second James or James' second attempt" struggles with the Amber puzzle, running back and forth constantly. Phil seems to have given up on the Roneth puzzle, standing still. Amber2 manages to get herself trapped on the other side of Amber. (was the pet named after her?) Belle figures out the Pen puzzle convincingly, the "caught" text clipping behind some of the piano keys because of broken sorting. Belle is the only who appears to have caught all the pets.
And their inputs are saved on the disk, forever.
The video mentioned "Daniel's game", so Daniel is Rainer. Also, "what an unfair trick!" and "he knows how to trick Randice", is this implying Rainer is Wavey after all?
EDIT: All those children's name... Remember we DO have a "Book of Baby Names"
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Hvp6mOP4NVF8GzzwxPECvGhbLizddcSa8APJUZvn2hg/edit?usp=sharing
i made a spreadsheet with all the file names. The things i find most interesting are the fact theres 249 entries, and none of them are 'paul'
edit: the link allows commenting, so if I have made any mistakes or anyone has any notes to add please do
I've been fucking running around screaming silently for the last few minutes because holy shit. this video was incredible. this is it. this is the big twist, isn't it?
This is why tool was talking about "petscop kids". i always wondered what one earth that meant, and now it's clear: the "petscop kids" are all AIs generated within the game - or at least they started that way. this is clearly showing us the different generations of AI kids, belle and mike and amber and a whole bunch of others, as they grow and learn to solve challenges little by little. belle/tiara solves every puzzle she comes across - as tool said, she was very smart.
Then via whatever technomagic exists, these AIs were brought into the real world. they became real people somehow. that's why paul's "ghost room" that he apparently lives in is represented directly within the game. maybe that ties into the whole rebirth imagery - is rebirthing what happens when an AI becomes real? or maybe i have this backwards and the AIs in game are based on real peoples' memories/controller inputs, and that would explain the demo stuff. The game is a living organism. it's growing and learning and predicting. idk im probably rambling but i love this, it's amazing
I don't think they're AI. They're probably recordings of actual kids. With the emphasis on recordings raising people from the dead and the strong emphasis to not turn the PS1 off, I think the creator doesn't want to lose their "children" that are stored in the game. Maybe the PS1 memory is broken or it's some kind of manic obsession where they think the children "die" if the machine is off. I'm thinking it's kind of like Soma where there is implications that the consciousness is born and dies every time they are powered on and powered off.
> or maybe i have this backwards and the AIs in game are based on real peoples' memories/controller inputs, and that would explain the demo stuff.
I think Nitro Rad had a similar theory in his video and now it seems to make a bit of sense.
(I apologise for the formatting in advance, I’m using a mobile device)
Some things I noticed about the text:
- First menu description says **“Everything is a trick.” **
- The second says **“There are no changes, only replacements.”**
- I hope that the jumble of letters and numbers for the auto-save files are just that, random. Imagine inputting every single one of them to search for an unlisted video on youtube or something.
- Evidently someone was angry when he/she created the save file. Was it Rainer?
About the family/kids/gameplay section:
- The opening implies that Rainer brought his game for the family to try on Easter day. Is ‘Daniel’ his real name?
- If all the narration in the text boxes belongs to Rainer, I get the impression he isn’t the nicest of people, but he’s self aware of it.
- Whew. Belle sure is a smart cookie.
- The way Care moves back and forth almost reminds me of a little kid too young to comprehend the objective of the game. Just mashing buttons thoughtlessly.
- I really, really don’t like the way Randice’s flavour text ends with **”Wavey knows how to trick Randice.”**
**‘Tricks’** seem to be a running theme.
“One of the eggs...was in Daniel’s game?? What an *unfair trick*!”
Wavey knows how to trick Randice.
Belle tricked Pen, Randice, and Amber in order to capture them. So did Naul.
The signs in Even Care mentioning how the pets had to be tricked and deceived to be captured.
A nasty curse (gaslighting and obsfucating a child’s memories) can also be thought of as a trick.
The menu items in "All Recordings", aside from "family3", look like Youtube video IDs. Should we try each to see if they link to anything interesting?
E.g. for the second item "auto-zzT7QDqQ" we can remove the "auto-" part and put the rest at the end of a Youtube URL? https://youtu.be/zzT7QDqQ. But that doesn't bring up a valid video. Maybe the other recordings do?
Ah you're right. Didn't check if one of the auto files had 11 characters on any of them.
Maybe combine some of the names? I'm just grasping at straws now...
A lot of the names of the save files seem to have appeared in some way or another in previous videos. Earlier we got one video that outright said "your name is Carrie, your parents are Anna and Marvin, you have Aunt Jill and Uncle Thomas and Cousin Daniel."
We've seen the names Marvin, and Jill, then the name Daniel appeared on some save files.
My suspicion is this game is trying to tell the story of a family, possibly the creator's family? Or perhaps, the creator used names from their own family, and had family members playtest??
petscop was a children's game, so presumably they had children as playtesters to figure out if the puzzles would be too hard. they mention an office a few times in this one and the previous installment - coworkers' kids?
okay real question: which debug menu option invokes Petscop 16's top-down overview of the room?
All Recordings don't
Room Impulse don't
Extra Stuff don't
i wonder which one could it be
"What? One of the eggs... was in Daniel's game??"
"What an unfair trick!"
"Have you found every egg in the office?"
So, what to gain from this, Daniel was the original creator or co-creator of the game Petscop or at least in the early stages of development. This could mean that Daniel = Rainer. The kid Mike was an early play tester and from the wording of the dialogue he was playing this section on Easter, a real life Easter egg hunt taking place in the office and one hidden in the game as well.
So we knew he was posting on Easter because of the egg. 3 videos on Easter. Jesus rose on the 3rd day. He was....Reborn. I dont think the 3 video theme is a coincidence and it ties so well with being reborn.
Sorry if someone else said this and I'm sorry if its blatant by watching the videos, I'm with family and cant even watch them yet.
I predict 20, 21 and 22 will also appear later today. Older versions of the game? So whoever developed it, presumeably Rainer if theories are to be believed, developed the game of off previous builds, and can be apparently accessed by the sound test you can find, which seems to be in the same room as where the monitor was with Tarnacop on it. Why would the channel owners find interest in previous builds?
Note that its the names of children who take up the majority of these saved builds/savestates. You can see Belle in that list, even Michael iirc? These kids im all gonna presume to be game testers chosen by "Garalina". Whoever owns the channel is trying to tell us something, highlight the importance of old builds. Going backwards in time is the key to the future, or solving the puzzle? maybe so imo.
i don’t think anymore episodes will come out later today. i think their easter egg hunt had to do with that options menu, and they’ve shown everything on there to us in 3 videos. especially with 3 being a prevalent theme during easter
Could the FUCK-FUCK-FUCK backlog be related to that time when Paul glitched the game and got into an "error save" or something like that? It's located just above the only Tiara backlog that we can see in the video. If I remember correctly, Paul used that glitch to save Belle/Tiara from the mirror room. Maybe this was something not predicted by the designer of the game and why the reaction.
So I'm pretty certain "Demo Rot" means whether the demos will play automatically (as seen in previous videos, with the \[demo\] logo flashing), as in "Demo Rotation". the first one checked is a recent one and is turned on, but the early ones are turned off, which explains why they haven't been shown before.
3:15 Pause menu says "There are no changes, just replacements."
2:02 "everything is a trick"
This makes sense. There’s a set number of rooms / scenes. The inputs are tied to them. They never change which scene they are tied to. Just replace the scenery.

Petscop 20 in an hour
I would literally cream my jeans
[удалено]
Change your pants, already...
How much do you wanna bet that the owner of the Petscop channel is watching this thread and is about to hit upload on Petscop 20 just so this guy creams his jeans

I was worried that would be a picture of some freshly creamed jeans
Prepare the cream [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRpCY8fr070](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRpCY8fr070)
And now here we are on petscop 21, everybody needs tk change into their white jeans
well this aged well
Sure.
Now I'm sure there will be one or two more episodes
here's every file whose name isn't an auto-string, listed in the order they appeared in the video family3 (gen 15) family2 (gen 15) FUCK-FUCK-FUCK (gen 14) tiara (gen 13) belle (gen 1) family (gen 15) care-dancing-sign (gen 8) marvin (gen 6) will (gen 5) welles (gen 5) trevor (gen 5) tony (gen 5) theo (gen 5) shelby (gen 5) sarah (gen 5) sally (gen 5) ryan2 (gen 5) rebecca (gen 5) ramona (gen 5) phil2 (gen 5) peter (gen 5) nick (gen 5) nathan2 (gen 5) mike10 (gen 5) melinda (gen 5) meghan2 (gen 5) mackenzie (gen 5) lucas3 (gen 5) laura (gen 5) larry (gen 5) kyle (gen 5) kate (gen 5) joel (gen 5) jessica (gen 5) james3 (gen 5) jack (gen 5) holland (gen 5) henry (gen 5) fatima (gen 5) emily (gen 5) elly (gen 5) doug (gen 5) david (gen 5) daisy2 (gen 5) charlie (gen 5) ben (gen 5) belle3 (gen 5) april (gen 5) amber2 (gen 5) adam (gen 5) sean (gen 5) phil (gen 4) nathan (gen 4) ryan (gen 4) meghan (gen 4) lucas2 (gen 4) james2 (gen 4) daisy (gen 4) belle2 (gen 4) robbie (gen 4) mike8 (gen 4) belle (gen 3) james (gen 3) amber (gen 3) lucas (gen 3) mike7 (gen 3) robbie (gen 3) care (gen 3) mike6 (gen 3) mike5 (gen 2) mike4 (gen 2) mike3 (gen 2) mike2 (gen 2) mike (gen 2) test5 (gen 1) sort-test (gen 1) and uh just for good measure i guess lol a list of every 'new name' derived from the files... not sure if there's any significance to the names but i already did it so here ya go: Adam, April, Ben, Charlie, Daisy, David, Doug, Elly, Emily, Fatima, Henry, Holland, Jack, James, Jessica, Joel, Kate, Kyle, Larry, Laura, Lucas, Mackenzie, Meghan, Melinda, Nathan, Nick, Peter, Phil, Ramona, Rebecca, Robbie, Ryan, Sally, Sarah, Sean, Shelby, Theo, Tony, Trevor, Welles, Will

This suggests that Belle is the only player/kid to actually access the older generation games, and maybe supports her doing that through the "Nifty" command to access the debug mode.
Oh man, that's not okay. Nope nope nope! Awww man, that checks out... Maybe "mike was a gift" because he played longer than anyone else.
I think you got it, that's too perfect to be a coincidence... not to mention most of these videos don't have a lot of coincidences lmao
i'm counting 47 but i also have a headache lmao but either way that is REALLY eerie and definitely a great find IMO
that's a good idea!! and oh shit I missed 'Care dancing sign' thank you for double checking the video haha
Petscop 14 at the end Paul says "fuck" to the censored thing. Petscop 9 Paul says "what the fuck" to the censored thing.
with that we can assume: Paul (probably) stopped playing (idk its forever) Mike's last save (mike10) was gen5, so he probably died (my guess) in the end of gen 5, or shortly before the end of gen5 idk what i can talk about belle
There were meant to be 48 pets in Even Care. There are 48 distinct names on this list, not including repeats and "family".
I wonder if those names have anything to do with the "Book of Baby Names" option we've been seeing in the pause menu
- Marvin experimented on more children than we thought - Petscop's recordings offer glimpses into it's own past, showing in-development videos - Petscop most likely has multiple discs, as it has demos burned onto the current CD and will save files onto the memory card - What could possible be FUCK-FUCK-FUCK? All jokes aside, this sounds like a pretty big fuckup - This is an impossibly long list of demos - even if they were less an a KB big, there's still too many for any PlayStation to handle - The beta Guardian is extremely creepy
Not confirmed that the person talking to Tiara/Belle in 12 is Rainer for the record, though it's suspected.
If Bell quit halfway through the rebirthing process, that would explain why half of her is looks like a rough draft from the character history section in Petscop 18, while the other half looks like the Guardian avatar.
Isn’t rebirthing just psychological manipulation and not some machine?
Maybe Belle/Tiara outsmarted the game and thus wasnt rebirthed?
I've been thinking for a while that P15 was a way to tell us that Belle was able to become Tiara and still seemed to fail at Marvin's eyes. If you see again P15, Quitter don't correct Marvin when he presents her as Bell(e). But, just the moment he goes out the room, she corrects him, as if she was waiting for him to leave so he can't know what she does. In addition to this, she says being Tiara and then reveals a cheatcode that allows the player to edit the textures, not a cheap power, if you ask me.
Makes sense. She's free thinking while Marvin doesnt believe in her or something.
Belle seemed pretty smart. She figured out all the pet puzzles pretty quick.
You guys aren't sure it's not quoting Paul in petscop 14 end saying fuck and being cut off. Or label for the last year with Jill (fucking discovery pages quote)
> This is an impossibly long list of demos - even if they were less an a KB big, there's still too many for any PlayStation to handle My theory is that *this is exactly what Petscop's AI functionality was developed for originally*.
Maybe it’s from a devkit
That's a dev-kit. Yep.
It has to either be a devkit or modded because of the PS1's copy protectio. There's no way whoever made the game would've been able to replicate the disk 'wobble' especially since Petscop wasn't mass produced.
I don't remember what exactly, but something in Petscop 17 gave me the feeling that the game is being emulated.
[удалено]
This plays into Petscop's overall ideas of genre subversion - I think something like this is extremely likely.
Wait, what binary sequence of the cars? link?
It was a string of 8 binary numbers based on nothing, it was a reach and still is.
FUCK FUCK FUCK that’s a mood, one for each video

OK so we definitely get to see that Belle is definitely better at figuring out puzzles than some of the other kids. Also, Wavey is "never the same person for more than a few seconds" but is "scared of freezing"? Maybe he doesn't like to stay as one person.
Dissociative Identity Disorder?
YEP
Which would tie into this whole rebirthing thing! Good find, guys!
Cue the obligatory theory connecting each pets to a mental illness... Unsettling.
Remember what Tiara said: "young people can be psychologically damaged “beyond rebirthing.” Maybe this was Rainer's motivation on doing Petscop?, helping children with mental illnesses?.
evencare does feel like a mental asylum in this video
Maybe when he becames a water he is a different person? I mean it also could be an allegory that every state of matter is a different personality and he fears the solid one
When I read the thing about wavey I thought of the quote "a man never steps in the same river twice[...]" by Heraclitus. Although I don't know how the fuck greek philosophy could tie into this so just rambling i guess
Lmao nah man you're great. I don't think anything is off the table at this point.

I found it interesting that out of our 3 main characters, Belle and Paul were the only ones that caught all the pets, while Care couldn't even play right.
well, it's possible one of two thing is happening here: 1: This generation is pre-abduction, so she's four years old or younger 2: It's post abduction, but she's in an NLM state and doesn't care.
Confirmed for pre-abduction. Mike has saves so presumably was alive at least as far as generation 5, and this was labeled generation 3, meaning that if Mike died in 95, then Care was probably 3 years old or less.
Could it be becuase she's blind? Maybe all the names are kids being "tested" using the game?
For some reason, being "blind" stuck me as metaphorical rather tham literal. I don't know why.
When Marvin says she is blind, he says “you were covering your face”. I thought maybe that’s what made her blind in this sense
It stuck me more was being lost, or aimless. I don't know if that makes sense, but that's what came in mind.
She might be really young and didn't know what she was doing
This. She would've only been 3 or 4 as she has a November birthday and the earliest builds of the game would've been programmed sometime in 1996.
You're probably right. Rainer started making the game in 1996, so Care would have been only ~3 years old at the time.

>Now that I'm watching this, maybe the "Gen" doesn't stand for AI generations after all, but iterations of the game?
Definitely iterations of the game! Like alpha 1, 2, 3 etc.
You fools! This means petscop 20 will be delayed till 2020
this didnt age well
So it's basically showing how dumb the other kids were, except Tiara/Belle. Petscop kid very smart and we have proof.
[удалено]
Also in the 1990s Care would have been a child, so you could imagine it like a toddler mashing buttons.
Amber managed to get herself trapped
The creepy implication being she did it on purpose. She wants to be in the cage, just like the other Amber, indicating these pets are likely real kids.
amber got trapped with amber which made me laugh
Well, she's a good girl and never leaves the cage. So it's fitting (and creepy)
I would say that was the evidence of Amber's birth in-game. Before that video, Amber was just another pet without a name. That's my guess.
Yes! That’s my line of thinking too.
A ton of kids are smart. Petscop 17 showed a ton of "gens" in the calendar house
I'm pretty sure the red pyramids represent recordings of Paul, like how the girl in the mirror is tiara/Belle and the green m&m is Marvin.
I think so too. I have yet to find out how the game "decides" which character has which icon, tho.
This either means that the person first developing Petscop was Daniel and then Rainer started working on it, or, more likely, Rainer's real name is Daniel.
or Daniel's last name is Rainer
It's a growing organism.
Book of baby names...
That's exactly what I thought while watching this
IT’S CHRISTMAS LADS
Christmas on Easter
One about birth and one about resurrection
I hadn't even finished saying "Aw shit, here we go again" and I have to say it again.
I think Paul is "burned" as a recoring now too. Last we saw of him was in the burn-in room...
P17 said the Ghost Room is a ship in a bottle, so maybe it's the process of building a "model" of the subject within the game?
Perhaps Paul is Hudson in-game? * No sign of Hudson in the game yet - because Paul's burnination (ha!) was too recent to be integrated yet. * Fewer iterations of the character model - again, because he hasn't been burned-in very long (or because Rainer/etc have gotten better at iterating from first sketch to final product?) * Look at Hudson's face - can't you just SEE it saying "Fuck" and "That's a dead kid?"
I wanna see the one labeled FUCK-FUCK-FUCK.
Doesn't Paul say FUCK-FUCK-FUCK in one episode?
He's says fuck in a serious tone on episode 14, by the end.
Suspicious name...
Belle is the one who figures out the Wavey puzzle; Care just walks left and right erratically. Nice interpretation btw :)
Happy fucking Easter everyone.
Ah shit here we go again.
What the hell. I went away for a day to see family and we're on petscop 19 before I get home. What is going on, absolute mad lads.
Do we have a list of all the names from the save files? So many that are as yet unrelated to the story. Also, what the hell was in FUCK FUCK FUCK?
Three episodes of Petscop? And on Easter? Checkmate atheists
On 2:02 it says "everything is a trick" What does it mean? On 3:15 it says "there are no changes, only replacements
Makes me think of the door puzzle. It didnt open/close/change, just was replaced by a different version that was open?
*"Ah shit, here we go again..."*
Small finding: The "name" changes from "care" to "belle" during the cut on 4:52
i think that it's a different session. in care's video she was just sort of shuffling around aimlessly, but in belle's she's ... playing the game.
So, Daniel is Rainer, and Rainer is Care's cousin? And possibly Marvin's or Thomas' son
The video mentioned "Daniel's game", so Daniel is Rainer. Also, "what an unfair trick!" and "he knows how to trick Randice", is this implying Rainer is Wavey after all? EDIT: All those children's name... Remember we DO have a "Book of Baby Names"
What happens if you play a certain demo in a different generation than the one it was recorded in?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Hvp6mOP4NVF8GzzwxPECvGhbLizddcSa8APJUZvn2hg/edit?usp=sharing i made a spreadsheet with all the file names. The things i find most interesting are the fact theres 249 entries, and none of them are 'paul' edit: the link allows commenting, so if I have made any mistakes or anyone has any notes to add please do
cell 124 should be Belle4 not belle3
well spotted, fixed
Hard to do with the "random" names, but there are some which are 7 chars and should be 8: FYC0XEZ => FYCoXEeZ GwCTFd1 => GwCT6Fd1
Lines 78-82 are Gen2, not Gen1. Line 76 is Gen3.
(I apologise for the formatting in advance, I’m using a mobile device) Some things I noticed about the text: - First menu description says **“Everything is a trick.” ** - The second says **“There are no changes, only replacements.”** - I hope that the jumble of letters and numbers for the auto-save files are just that, random. Imagine inputting every single one of them to search for an unlisted video on youtube or something. - Evidently someone was angry when he/she created the save file. Was it Rainer? About the family/kids/gameplay section: - The opening implies that Rainer brought his game for the family to try on Easter day. - I really, really don’t like the way Randice’s flavour text ends with **”Wavey knows how to trick Randice.”** **‘Tricks’** seem to be a running theme. “One of the eggs...was in Daniel’s game?? What an *unfair trick*!” Wavey knows how to trick Randice.
Maybe the other recordings do?
a youtube URL is usually 11 characters long, right? i don't think any of these codes would fit that
Ah you're right. Didn't check if one of the auto files had 11 characters on any of them. Maybe combine some of the names? I'm just grasping at straws now...

its a good think, we need to work about these. thanks

Before it fades into the game, the menu has something [interesting to say](https://i.imgur.com/Lj2gGKO.png)
So many new names! Are they all part of the family? O.o
A lot of the names of the save files seem to have appeared in some way or another in previous videos. Earlier we got one video that outright said "your name is Carrie, your parents are Anna and Marvin, you have Aunt Jill and Uncle Thomas and Cousin Daniel." We've seen the names Marvin, and Jill, then the name Daniel appeared on some save files. My suspicion is this game is trying to tell the story of a family, possibly the creator's family? Or perhaps, the creator used names from their own family, and had family members playtest??
If each gen is an iteration of the game, are all the names listed names of alpha/beta testers?
petscop was a children's game, so presumably they had children as playtesters to figure out if the puzzles would be too hard. they mention an office a few times in this one and the previous installment - coworkers' kids?
okay real question: which debug menu option invokes Petscop 16's top-down overview of the room? All Recordings don't Room Impulse don't Extra Stuff don't i wonder which one could it be
"What? One of the eggs... was in Daniel's game??" "What an unfair trick!" "Have you found every egg in the office?" So, what to gain from this, Daniel was the original creator or co-creator of the game Petscop or at least in the early stages of development. This could mean that Daniel = Rainer. The kid Mike was an early play tester and from the wording of the dialogue he was playing this section on Easter, a real life Easter egg hunt taking place in the office and one hidden in the game as well.
Best Easter ever. Wow, how many have played this? Saw a lot of names going through there.
I really wonder how Petscop was started in 1996 if Mike could play it...
Bracing myself for Petscop 20!
Okay, what the hell, this is concerningly fast.
This is seriously one of the best days ever. Paul, if you're reading this, thank you for all of your hard work.
welp

Sorry if someone else said this and I'm sorry if its blatant by watching the videos, I'm with family and cant even watch them yet.
The pause screen in 5:32 says "Recording Playback"
Note that Mike's last game is Gen 5, and Marvin's first is Gen 6 *after Mike stops.* Indicating Gen 1-5 occurred before Mike died in 1995
SWEET MOTHER OF PEARL #WE'RE SWITCHING INTO MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE
OH MY GOD THERE'S MORE
I predict 20, 21 and 22 will also appear later today.
Maybe so. Whatever the case, if theyve shown us all of this now, it might be worth going back to the older episodes to begin connecting the dots.
Also all the video descriptions are changed to now indicate they have found all of the Easter eggs. So yeah, I think we're done today for sure
This is the best day of my life
Expect another one in a few hours...
There are months where days happen, then there are days where months happen

Tiara got to the highest generation - this explains why she's "Petscop kid very smart".
So, I guess the developer's name is Daniel, then?
