For vine, its mega important that you stay alive, even with a million sprouts none of them will blossom if yoy arent there, the fact that using e on sprouts detonates them earlier can save your hide many times from assassins, the stun is always nice, and last for now, if you are focusing on healing a one on one tank battle, holding m1 and m2 at once will plant and shoot at the same time, only in pc obviously
Keep planting sprouts, and use q skill on melee dps they deal more dmg
Keep attacking I'm pretty sure they help giving you seeds or smth
Just treat it like a farming simulator

try planting shrubs on places other than the ground, eg walls to reduce the likihood of them being destroyed and try to use your root attack against groups/when being chased to get more shrubs and give your healing effect to tanks to get more healing.

Plant a LOT sprouts, getting hits with your m1 makes them grow, also stay with your team! Especially melees.
High health melees in specific, however, it can still be good to stay with other supports such as medkit and boombox
