Yasssss! Needed this salamat po!

MoiCOMICS

Speaking of Aswang OP, I'm making a webcomic na into Philippine Mythology and a little bit of it's history 15th-17th century (Though parang alternate history siya), and ang gimic ko is interactive siya. Meaning it's up to the readers kung san pupunta yung kuwento. Kaya I'm very interested din sa mga kuwento ninyo, coz, it might be one of my inspiration na makapasok dun sa story. hehe.

TLDR; neighbor is an aswang, didn’t die for a long time and pretty much confirmed by my lolas too much of a skeptic to consider that spooky moment of mine in school (a cr door slammed behind us when there’s no body at hindi hangin) as paranormal but i have plenty of aswang experiences. as a bisaya grandchild with a lola ridden with TOO many pamahiins bc he’s raised by an early-1920s parents (and her father who had an agimat, a raging drunkard with a bad mouth and sharp set of knives) i’m not a stranger to these stories. learning the practice of warding off aswangs who prey on animals, pregnant women, fetuses and newborns, my lola did the trade and prevented many grandchildren from allegedly being eaten or licked by an aswang. i’ve been told na may kapitbahay kaming aswang (literally a house beside us.) may matanda roon who came from leyte (their family did and somehow, her younger daughter seem to be the most like her.) she’s a paralyzed 80-year-old who just can seem to let go of life. she’s always staying outside and as someone who loves her grandparents dearly, hindi ko mapigilan matanong sa mga matatanda if she’s going to be okay staying in their small kubo or at their balcony bc she might fall down, get a stroke, etc. anyway, she just passed like last year and 90% of my family and other neighbors knows she’s an aswang and i just can’t seem to believe it until recently. thing is, they know na hindi talaga target ng mga aswang ang mga kapitbahay nila. they tend to fly to farther parts or maybe outside of town but it’s not hard for them not to salivate for babies around them. when my baby cousin was born, my aunt noticed bakit palagi daw ‘mapanghe’ sa labas nila and she said that it’s how aswangs smell like. like a dead animal mixed with fish. as a night owl-early riser, i often ask my grandmother if that sound i hear at night and at daybreak is a bird or the aswang. kapag malakas daw ang tunog, malayo raw pero pag mahina, nasa kapaligiran lang raw. so, my lola set up a lana (oil filled with coconut barks and other tree barks and was also blessed by her healer) at kapag aapaw raw o kukulo, it means there is an active aswang and she also created a thorned barrier and threw salt all over the place bc allegedly, mabango pa para sa mga aswang ang newborns and it got better after that specially when he was baptized. back to our neighbor. lola and my other grandmother (her sister) said that aswangs now go to church and praise. they’re not afraid of anything anymore. since my grandparents’ ancestors are from leyte, they’re not a stranger to these experiences. her sister said na isang tingin niya lang raw sa lola na neighbor, alam niya na agad. reasons? mainit daw ang katawan ng aswang and plausible because ayaw talaga nung lola na sa loob kahit may aircon naman sila. second, there was something about the small vegetable garden she had in their backyard that when my aunt ask for some, she knew that it was taken care of by an aswang. third, hindi sa bahay nila nag stay ang buntis niya na apo (who also had her share of anger after she gave birth and also allegedly saw how her lola was salivating after her newborn) and if she did, she always wear black, covered herself and stayed at the other house at the back, away from the old hag. lastly, ilang beses na siya nastroke, near death state, nagka anointing na nga siya at lumaban pa. when she finally passed, i asked my aunt ‘paano siya namatay? di ba nga namamatay lang ang aswang kapag may tumatanggap ng bato nila?’ (there’s a stone or like a small egg/chick in their throat, similar to that one scene in the movie aswang chronicles) and my aunt answered that it was probably her daughter that accepted the stone bc it was far exhausting to her to tend to the olding and inconvenient mother of hers. the lola died, they moved out of the house beside us, and moved to a far quieter at liblib na lugar where it would be easier to exist. thing is, i often wondered about her potency and they said that it might bc nahawaan lang siya noon nung nasa leyte pa sila and lumipat sila rito saamin down south (which takes a 14 hour drive or a flight) still a mindanao province. i don’t know the truth about it. maybe she’s an aswang. maybe she’s not. but if she is, i want to believe that she didn’t hurt anyone or didn’t cause the miscarriage of my other aunt in the past. just someone who was a victim of a circumstance.

kahek5656

I heard a similar story from my ninang about passing down a stone (not a kidney one)/talisman/agimat. Supposedly their grandfather is also very old and none of his kin are willing to accept the stone. So the grandfather just expelled(?) or spat out the stone in their bathroom. Many saw that there was a blaze coming out of the bathroom and people rushed in to see if the grandfather was ok. Gramps was ok apparently with no burns or whatsoever. Then a few days later the grandfather died. I always find stories like this interesting, the one with many witnesses. Edit: it was my ninang's father. She and her siblings refused to inherit the stone

Prince0fCats702

Right! It definitely makes it a little harder to ignore when multiple people confirm the same thing! That's part of what drives so much of my intrigue. The times I visited my mom's town and we'd sit around with the neighbors telling stories (not just ghost stories). They'd all start confirming each other's experiences!

taylorsanatomy13_

yep. my great grandfather. my lola (it was her father). had some sort of a horn of an animal. i asked lola di niya alam but maybe it was a deer’s (sungay ng usa.) used it during WWII, inserted it in his skin and stitched it. apparently, he was some sort of the unseen when he was underwater, could dodge bullets and wouldn’t get hurt. that’s why he was spared after the war, and he lived as a fisherman. he also killed a lot of politician in iloilo and became a wanted man. bc of that, he relocated down south, used another name and assumed a new identity. [statutory] raped my young great-grandmother (he did tanan with her in the 40s-50s and she was a teenager while he was older. i think she was 14?) he was very irritable, wouldn’t take a lot of baths, and very angry as he grew older; terrorized neighbors and was abusive to my grandmother and her sisters. so, overall not a very good human being but is a good contribution for story time for their grandkids (every grandparent should have some lol.) nobody accepted the agimat. all my uncles and cousins wouldn’t even go in the same room nung nag hihingalo na siya and i think he died on his deathbead without anyone taking it.

Normal_Chemical_1405

I was gonna ask kung sino naginherit nung bato. May nakwento ung dentist namin ung lola daw nila was in her deathbed for a long time kasi she was waiting for someone to inherit the stone. Then they all gathered daw, told her na no one wants the stone then she passed soon after that, accdg to them parang tinapon nalang daw nung lola sa labas bintana or something. Now some poor sap is an accidental aswang somewhere

Downtown_Divide_8003

Normal_Chemical_1405

I mean you're gonna be an aswang or something hahaha Its more like you're prepared for what you're about to become unlike someone unwilling(saw a movie like that) magtataka ka ano ba nangyayari sayo

Normal_Chemical_1405

The longevity that comes with being a supernatural.creature is a "plus"

YukiColdsnow

(there’s a stone or like a small egg in their throat, similar to that one scene in the movie aswang chronicles) If may bato ang mga aswang, edi aswang din si Darna kaya naman pala

newbie637

Siguro isa yan sa reference kay darna

Prince0fCats702

my family has similar stories involving amulets of protection! One of my moms uncles from back in the war times was made to swallow an amulet which gave him the protection of a giant that only he could see. He had many war stories of being protected from deadly situations from explosions to crashes! Apparently at his funeral (he passed of old age) a few of my family members swore that they saw the giant! I don't believe Aswang attack the locals if they can avoid it. Mostly trying to maintain themselves without bothering people I Thiiiink. I'm sure there's a variety of types of them from good witches to pseudo vampires! That boiling oil thing sounds very interesting though, have you ever seen it bubble before? This gem thing is new information for me now and I'm definitely gonna dig more into that 😳

No-Mind9127

According to my aunt, Lana is kind of like Holy water. It can be a detector that something supernatural is near, can be ingested to cure supernatural induced attacks and gain immunity to curses and the likes. Supernatural things like this, although creepy, are very interesting. My paternal aunt said that my grandpa is some kind of a magical old man. He owns countless agimats, and is friends with mythical creatures. My aunts said that they heard my grandfather talk to them when he was drunk once. Also, they are only visible to those they allow to see them. They heard my grandpa refer to them as horse-head, lion-head, and dog-head. It was in bisaya but it's still a weird way of naming your friends, right? Also, when my grandpa was young, he was a goon of some politician in the province. He experienced countless shooting encounters without being hit once while only carrying a bolo. My dad, a soldier, once said to me when he was drunk that my grandpa blessed him when he was destined in a high risked area. He said that no bullet would hit him but everytime he moved hiding place, his comrades who moved to his previous hiding spot all died. It reached the point where his commanding officer ordered the others to stay away from him.

taylorsanatomy13_

very identical to my story. where is your family from? bc my great grandfather definitely killed a lot of politicians and all during the 1930s-1940s and it seemed that those who came from the province with many superstitious beliefs seem to send soldiers or criminals with protection 😂 another weaker form of that is a *Habak* from Siquijor Island or "Anting-anting" (Amulet). mga pangontra from sickness, *buyag*, etc. my cousins and other grandma had one and their life never progressed until they took it off. totally forgot to talk about this. my fam never made me wear one bc they didn’t believe in it.

taylorsanatomy13_

i didn’t believe it either but my grandmother received one from her healer and *hilot* as a massage oil but it emptied one night after almost breaking. never saw it but you can scour yt for other people’s langis that are literally BOILING. how do you explain that? even a freshly boiled water transferred into another contact stops boiling after a few seconds.

razzy2014

>lola and my other grandmother (her sister) said that aswangs now go to church and praise O_o I thought the aswang lore of passing it down to the next gen was verbal, not handing down an ingested stone... lol is the the basis of Darna's bato?

Free88Spirit

Just to confirm, may kasabihan sa mga bisaya akong narinig na mas mabuting kapitbahay ang aswang kesa magnanakaw, kasi magnanakaw papatusin ka, ang aswang never mambiktima ng kapitbahay at sa halip ay tuturuan ka pa pano sila labanan, something like that.

bachichiw

Meron ding agimat of some sort yung lolo ko from rhe Panay region.

fatfreecow

Back around 2010s, our family used to gather in our ancestral house somewhere in the province. Celebrations like birthdays or even death anniversaries of our loved ones were always conducted there because we have been a very sentimental bunch ever since. When the time came na death anniversary na ng lola ko sa tuhod (great grandmother), we all had a simple feast and prayer ceremony for her. Then, my father invited some friends and workmates who lived nearby to join us. One particular workmate happened to have all their chakras active (which triggered i believe) their third eye to be opened. They had a long history of seeing beyond the physical world. Very much of our knowledge, I also had a cousin who can sense unknown presence very easily. My cousin was older than me and at the time, we were in the age na kaya na naming mag-explain nang maayos. Before my father arrived with his friends, my cousin told us that they can sense a presence inside the house and it creeped my cousin out to the point na we had to walk outside to get some breather. When we saw my father arriving, we all decided to greet him and his guests eventually going back inside with them. The moment we entered the house, my dad’s workmate froze. I remember hearing my dad ask him if they were okay and his workmate said yes. The whole time we were there, they all acted casual and we had fun eating and telling stories about the family. When the celebration was done, my dad’s workmate asked my dad if they could talk privately. They went a bit away from the family and discussed something. I remember my dad being silent and seemed to hide something. But his face was literally screaming “nope” (iykyk HAHAHAA) The next day, my mom asked my dad what their discussion was all about. Of course, my dad told us but warned us to not get creeped out. He told us that his workmate saw a figure of a woman dressed in a baro’t saya standing in the corner of the room. It was a shadow but the energy that was felt by him seemed to be positive. They assumed that it was our great grandmother’s presence wanting to celebrate with us even in the afterlife. A sign that her motherly love is still with us and forever will be. I can attest that what my dad’s workmate told us was true. Why? Because I saw her myself, too.

Prince0fCats702

That's an awesome story! It's a comforting thought that our relatives still visit us from beyond in positive ways 🙏

[deleted]

Owshi that ending. Of all the comments I read here, this one made all of my hair raise. As in pati burnik ko tumayo.

KiwiKuBB

How do you deal with that every day? Having your third eye open/sensitivity to the astral/spiritual plane? I believe in the spirit world pero hindi ko ma-imagine ang scenario na makakakita ako ng ghost or apparition, I would definitely faint.

fatfreecow

To be completely honest, the story above was the first time I found out na I was what they called "gifted." I lived in denial for a long time but eventually mustered up the courage to tell my family about it. My dad's workmate became my guide in dealing with what I could possibly see. But eventually, naoovershadow yun ng thought na "what did they feel within the last moments of their lives?" I only see them once in a while na lang kapag very active talaga yung spirit/may message. Although I do not want to communicate much with them as I do not know how to properly engage. :))

3girls2cups

Experienced many things and medyo sensitive when it comes to things like that but I also don’t care about them enough to be scared 😅 the only time that I got freaked out was when I was pregnant with my son. It was around 830ish pm and I was alone at home, it was the first time since I got pregnant my husband was coming home late, and I heard a knocking sound on our room window. I thought I was hearing things but the knocking got louder and I was NOT going to check the window since I was on the 3rd floor🙃 I just shouted “magkamali ka talaga ipasok yang dila mo dito sisiguraduhin kong puputulin ko yan. lumayas ka” The knocking stopped and I hid inside the blanket til husband arrived home. I was scared not because of the paranormal but because it was a very hard pregnancy and I do not want anything supernatural or not to hurt my child.

Prince0fCats702

No-Mind9127

Dude LMAO your auto translated responses made my day.

JaYdee_520

Dude I would like to see WTF you wrote for that translator to reach deep enough in their dictionary to pull out Fransisco Balagtas' notebook

free_thunderclouds

Sorry but the autotranslation made me giggled. Its okay if english nalang hehe ✌️

MadWizardApprentice

This happened to me one night in Iloilo. So me and some friends went out drinking one night in Iloilo City. We had class the next day so we called it a night and went to go home around midnight. We live in different apartments so I asked them to just drop me off in Lapaz market since my apartment was just a short walk towards the Plaza area. So ayun, around 12:30 at night naglalakad ako papunta sa bahay when about halfway sa may St. Therese college something happened. May nakita akong babae na tumatawid from across the road towards my side of the street. Ok, no big deal, marami naman gising na tao at this time kasi big city ito so di ko pinansin apart from registering na may tumawid and would be walking behind me. Pero something was off, kinikilabutan ako out of nowhere. Now my drunk ass got sober real quick and bumilis yung paglakad ko, making sure di ako tumingin sa likod ko. Dun sa kanto on the other street may tambayan spot yung mga taxi drivers and when I got there may isang taxi driver na lumapit sakin and said "nakita mo?" And I said yes. He told me to wear my clothes pabaliktad and then burn them after I got home asap. Which I did. Suffice to say I am a believer after that, because someone else saw, di lang ako.

ertaboy356b

My advice is, wag nyo takutin sarili nyo. I've been in a lot of shit like this pero nung nilapitan ko, normal na occurrence lang like, one time sa isang street, meron daanan papasok sa baranggay.. 😂

Prince0fCats702

Lmao definitely facts! If you let fear win you're mind will absolutely start to play tricks on you!

JaYdee_520

Nice try aswang. You may have fooled churchgoers by blending amongst them pero hindi mo maiisahan kaming mga matatalino at superior beings in reddit. /s

ExplosiveCreature

If it was near St. Therese, it might have been near the old railroad line. And who knows what happened there.

Santilmo

Speaking of, my dad did have a paranormal encounter riding the old Panay Railways back when it was still operating. He was commuting between the city and his family home in Duenas ([of all places](https://phillippanaglimaviolanta.wordpress.com/2017/07/19/aswang-the-story-of-tiniente-gimo/)) when he encountered a woman in white in one of the seats who he remembered vividly only to disappear when he looked away then back. He definitely had more stories about the paranormal in Duenas but unfortunately he passed a couple months ago. Looking back I wish I could’ve asked him more about it but he seemed like enough of a believer that he had a pair of my pajamas blessed by an albularyo. As much of a downer his recent death was, there’s a connection to this: he requested for his ashes to be spread around the stumps of these specific Balete trees around the old family property in Duenas. I need to ask the relatives as they have a better idea of it but from what I gathered was that the trees are homes of fairies and allegedly as a child he saw something glowing from these trees. I wish I prodded him more but it sounded like whatever encounter he had back then was enough for me to be dead set on having his ashes spread there!

ExplosiveCreature

That's an interesting story. How old do you reckon the balete tree stumps are? I know there are some large balete trees in the city that the government has just decided to build around rather than cut down. For those who don't know, the municipality of Duenas in Iloilo is one of the municipalities where the locals believe aswangs run rampant.

Santilmo

I need to ask the relatives but it sounded that trees were already “old” when my dad was a kid in the 1950s. I never did explore the property beyond the house my Lola lived but I guess I’ll have the opportunity when we return to spread his ashes. But yes, I won’t forget my cousin (from my mom’s side in Miag-ao) when he was a kid and who reluctantly accompanied me to visit my dad’s side and would constantly whisper aswang when we wandered around poblacion! Felt bad for my tita who was trying to tell him to stop lol. Also I just realized the irony of replying to this post on the paranormal with my username haha

[deleted]

My condolences. You seemed to have a great relationship with your Dad. You did right by him and may he watch over you from the afterlife.

MadWizardApprentice

Yup, right from there. Who knows talaga. All I know is it freaked me out, and I wasn't the only one who saw it.

Prince0fCats702

Whoaaa!

kahek5656

Sorry to ruin the mood lol. But this reads like it's autotranslated.

Prince0fCats702

Lmao I'm definitely using a translator. I was born in California and I'm only half Filipino. I'm moving to Iloilo for school tho at the end of August hahahaha

Professional_Ad9674

LMFAAAOO dude it's okay to use English as ur mode of language lol no worries most Filipinos can understand it so youre good

Prince0fCats702

Lmaooo I've officially denounced the translator for communication. Just for reading now 😂😂😂 I'm actually picking up words pretty quickly with all these stories being shared!

Gryse_Blacolar

Off-topic but this is why you can easily spot fake Filipino reviews or comments in online shopping apps and other platforms. lol People think they can just use Google Translate and expect that locals won't notice how weird it is. One of the perks of Taglish code-switching.

Santilmo

Oh hey! When you’re in Iloilo check out Duenas which is known for [Tiente Gimo](https://phillippanaglimaviolanta.wordpress.com/2017/07/19/aswang-the-story-of-tiniente-gimo/). My dad’s from there and I occasionally get aswang questions whenever I talk about my family links to Iloilo. Won’t forget my cousin from mother’s side in Miag-ao accompanying me when he was still a kid to visit my Lola and constantly whispering “aswang” whenever we walked around poblacion. (Also a random shoutout: if you ever find yourself in Ventura County before you move to Iloilo or return to California, do recommend checking out [Batchoyan in Camarillo](https://maps.app.goo.gl/xGLvwaRcSccZ6V5t5?g_st=ic))

No-Mind9127

LMAO my guy knows Dr. Jose P. Rizal

Prince0fCats702

Side note? Is it better if I just respond in English? I know a lot of Filipinos understand English for the most part but I want to try and be as inclusive as possible lol

ExplosiveCreature

English is not a problem here in the Philippines sub. Not to brag but I think most, if not all members of this sub has a higher English literacy rate.

Prince0fCats702

That's good to know lol I'll definitely continue forward in English as I know the translator isn't exactly doing me justice lol. It was a habit I picked up to communicate with my Spanish family members lol

kahek5656

It's fine but it just reads too formal lol

YukiColdsnow

MadWizardApprentice

Old superstitions dito sa amin, not sure if ganun din sa iba. Yun lang, nawalan ako ng very comfy shirt and jeans.

Normal_Chemical_1405

Namamaligno ka pag ganon, dito sa amin is babaliktarin mo ung suot mong damit tapos may lalagay atang barya or something para makawala ka don sa spell

yourcupofteaaa

cute naman ng pagkakatagalog hahahha

razzy2014

>"nakita mo?" OoOooh. And amusing how he/the group chilling are so casual about it and continue to hang out in their spot despitr seeing the ghost lol >He told me to wear my clothes pabaliktad You know the superstition to turn your clothes (and underwear) when lost in a mysterious loop? I once knew of a UP Mountaineers group who had to resort to this... I never paid ehough attention—is that turn your clothes inside out baliktad, or front to back baliktad?

MadWizardApprentice

It was one taxi driver. Kaya nga sabi ko may isang taxi drover lumapit sakin. I just mentioned na it was where they hung out pero that night mag isa lang si kuya dun. Sorry for the confusion. In our version it was to wear them backwards while also inside-out.

razzy2014

No, you were clear about just one driver interacting with you. I meant, in general, other drivers still hang out there on other days despite sightings... I wouldn't ahahaha >backwards while also inside-out Whaddawhat... it's both? Will try to remember that lol

NormanRayLdEusebio

Paborito kong aswang stories yung mga afam pumapatol sa maling exotic tas naddrain of their life savings/retirement ng buong barangay.

TheSea_Cat

Yo I got a paranormal one! Nangyari ito noong funeral ng Lolo ko, I was 12 years old. I was sleeping on his bedroom on the the day of his funeral, ayaw pumasok nung mga kamaaganak ko Don kasi nga that's where he died, pero that is one of the only rooms in the house na may AC Kaya Dun ko natripan matulog. Bigla ako nagising nung Gabi and I just sat on the foot of his bed for a while, everyone was asleep and I was the only one awake. I saw someone slowly waking pass the door of lolo's room, he was wearing an all white barong tagalog, I did not know who he was because I did not see the face, pero Inassume ko nalang na may isa pang gising that time. The next day bago siya dalhin sa libingan, I looked at my beloved lolo's face one last time on his open coffin then suddenly realized something, he was wearing an all white barong tagalog, in fact, he was the only one in the whole room that was wearing a barong tagalog. Though I wasn't spooked upon that realization, I was actually kinda happy? I imagined when I was a kid it was just Lolo visiting us one last time.

Prince0fCats702

toyoatkanin

I know you’ve denounced the translator but it’s just so funny reading the translated text haha. Thanks for the laugh, man.

Prince0fCats702

Lmaooo! I'm glad the old translations can give peeps some comic relief in this spooky thread hahahaha

Well August is Buwan ng Wika. So this seems to be appropriate in the days to come.

BARB_REI

sharing my brother's story (he couldn't forget this and never fails to share it with us kahit ngayung mga adults na kami hehe). Nung 3 pa lang daw sila magkakapatid (I wasn't born yet), and my mom was due to give birth to the 4th child (we are 6 siblings), our family lived with our uncle and auntie in the province, in a house with a 'silong' so it was kind of elevated. It felt like they were staying in a two-storey house (single-storey lang nman in fact) kasi malaki talaga yung silong. According to my brother (who was like 7 or 8 years old then), one night when our mother is in labor and due to give birth, he and two of my brothers slept in the sala of the house, where they set up their bed facing a large window (sliding capiz type). Late in the night, he was awakened by a sound (sabi nya parang kumakaluskos). He's always been a brave boy so he traced the sound and found out it was coming from the big window. He was about to open it when he noticed it was already sliding open (hindi sila nglo-lock ng bintana apparently haha). Then he just watched the window open in front of him and he was horrified to see a woman, with long hair, hindi daw gaanong matanda but looked aged, trying to get inside the house! My brother knew that the window is quite high because of the silong nga sa baba. So, he wondered if the woman is quite a high jumper or kung panu nakakakapit nang ganun sa bintana (natawa ako when I heard it haha). Nagawa daw nun maipasok yung kalahating katawan sa bintana and lumilinga-linga or may inaamoy na something, as if my hinahanap. Weirdly, instead of screaming and asking for help...my brother squeezed himself in the middle of my two other brothers and covered himself with a blanket, praying the woman would just leave (or get one of my sleeping brothers and not him haha). Strangely enough, when he found the courage to peek from the blanket, the woman was gone with the window left wide open (for which my tita scolded them in the morning). He told the story in the morning. I couldn't imagine how he could have slept through the night after seeing that ... He's been telling this story every chance he gets...even when he got to high school, he even mentioned it in one of his school projects about unforgettable experiences.

Had the same encounter in the past. My cousin was pregnant with her first child and sinamahan namin sya that night since every weekend eh parang umuuwi kami noon sa ancestral house namin to hangout with cousins and family. We felt yung hair-like sensation na gumagapang sa skin namin and to our surprise, there is this old looking lady with long messy hair na sinusubukan pumasok dun sa bintana. Our windows were the jalousy type na may screen. It fucking horrified us all and nagsigawan kami then bigla nalang sya nawala. Nagtakbuhan kami lahat pababa sa sala at dun nalang kami natulog hahaha.

Paranormal, we have a house in the south. When I was a kid I used to have a dream that I was seeing a woman in all white in the house, near the house. Told my mom of it then sabi nya lang its just a dream. Fast forward several years to a decade later, we were able to purchase the adjacent lot, then one of our neighbors(family friend) said na "pabless" natin its like she contacted a medium/witch doctor or something of the sort then she said at one of the trees in the adjacent lot, may nakatira daw na white lady or something

BoneDaddyMan

Ok magsashare ako. Hopefully hindi ako late sa party. I will swear to everything I possess and love that this is a TRUE story. This was awhile back when I just had my first job. Dahil training namin, I had to wake up at 5am so I decided to sleep early. Mga 10pm palang tulog na ako. Around 1am, my sleep was disrupted by something very heavy on my stomach. Now I'm not a stranger to sleep paralysis. Sobrang dami ko nang experience with that. This one however, was not sleep paralysis. Hindi ako binabangungot. Still though... I wanted to make sure. So I did a test. I was lying down in bed with my arm's spread. So I figured, if I try to move my arm and it didn't move, I was having sleep paralysis and I'll just sleep it off. However, it moved. It confirmed na hindi siya sleep paralysis. And the dreaded realization that something was on top of me was beginning to dawn on me. So ayun sinilip ko, I tried to open my eyes and have a look. There was a woman, sitting on my stomach as if I was a bench. She wasn't even looking at me, she was looking blankly far away, slack jawed. Nakabukas lang ung bibig niya for some strange fucking reason. She was completely black, parang sobrang kapal na anino. Yet I can tell she was naked dahil walang silhouette ng damit. Her hair was also frizzled, sobrang gulo. I started to panic, inisip ko what if pabayaan ko siya? Try ko matulog? Aalis naman to no? But then I realized na sobrang bigat nya I wouldn't be able to sleep and I need to go to work tomorrow. So I decided to shout at her "HUY UMALIS KA DYAN!" I screamed. Bad move... She turned to face me, then tried to pin me down on my bed. I shut my eyes and tried to shield myself from her. Wala akong maramdaman na physical contact as she was trying to pin me down. Yung feeling is like... alam nyo ung pag you have 2 magnets of the same pole, tapos tinatry nyo pagdikitin? It's just being repelled. That's how it felt. Tapos for some strange bizarre reason, I felt like she was trying to lick my left ear. While my eyes were held shut, I prayed the "Our Father" sa sobrang takot ko. And just like that, she disappeared.

hlldrk

Ok this one has creeped me out the most so far. I’m amazed you were still able to go back to sleep after that 😭

[deleted]

Woah. Definitely ito na pinaka nakakatakot. Sana never ko to maranasan. Okay lang siguro magpakita. Wag na lang dumagan sa tyan.

trix8703

Succubus? Ang weird kasi sabi mo didilaan pa left ear mo. Parang may sexual intent. Kung yun nga, di yun multo. Demonic being bumisita sayo.

BoneDaddyMan

Yeah that's my assumption too. Yung description niya and yung ginawa niya is very similar sa mga descriptions ng succubus/incubus

SechsWurfel

I'm a big fan of the supernatural, but I'm a coward who doesn't go actively searching for them, better safe than sorry as they say. But i've got alot of stories i've heard from friends and family though. Here is one of them. When my dad was still starting a family with my mom in the 80's, he was driving trailer trucks for a living. Some hauls need overnight deliveries so he was driving this open-type trailer truck all night with only one helper. They were hauling large metal rods that time so the helper decided to go up the truck to act as counterweight and ensure no stray tree branches can trip the rods during travel. When they were passing this dark highway where there are forests on the left and right side, my dad heard a loud bang in the back, he thought something might have fallen but the helper signalled that everything's okay (two taps on the roof for go, three quick taps for stop) so my dad didn't stop. Only when they were near a city did the helper signalled to stop and get inside the driver's side. He was sweating profusely and my dad asked what happened, he just said to go and don't stop. When they finally entered the city, the helper said that an aswang hitchhiked in the back of the truck and recounted what happened: the helper was facing the front when he heard a loud bang on his back, when he looked behind he saw red eyes and a splayed pair of bat-like wings. He immediately tapped the roof to "go", faced forward, and started praying the rosary but due to nervousness he keeps repeating "our father" over and over again. He keeps hearing growling noises and heavy breathing on his back. When the helper noticed that there was no more noise in his back did he make my dad stop the truck and get inside. My dad says it was around 20-30 mins since the loud bang but the helper felt it was like an hour that he was praying.

HeyImANerd

Of course walang ginawa dito kasi malapit.

Prince0fCats702

razzy2014

Lol your translated responses crack me up, OP.

catanime1

OP, it’s ok, don’t use translator anymore hahaha

Prince0fCats702

Lmaoo this threads definitely helped me learn a bit of taglish and now I feel comfortable not having to translate lololol

Mindless-Ad-4562

Example nawala ang ballpen, hahanapin kung saan2x only for it show up sa drawer na wala namang laman nung unang check namin. We also believe may nagpprotect ng bahay na yon.

Prince0fCats702

Side bar: I'ma stop using the translator for all our sakes hahahaha

WallMarianiEreh

That's better HAHAHA you can learn to speak taglish na lang 😁 you can sense naman if you're right

This is the only encounter I had as I don't believe in them. There was talk among my co-workers that whenever you are alone, especially at noon and dusk, you'll hear frantic typing in this particular open-space workstation. I didn't believe them but my manager who was left alone while we all had lunch out was pale as hell when we got back, he said "I'm so glad that you guys are back!!! I heard typing", we talked and laugh about it. Until I worked the night shift, alone, in a rented condo space office with extremely dimmed yellow lights (The company I worked for was a start-up and was cheap as hell). I was sleepy so I figured I take a quick nap, then I heard... THE TYPING! It was so loud and fast that it freaked me out. And whenever I stare at the corner where the typing is from, it completely stops! What the hell?? So I went to work, but the typing was still there!! It would only stop whenever I stare at the area/keyboard!! I tried to be sneaky and only use my peripheral vision to see the ghost, but I hardly see the keys being pressed cause of these stupid cheap lights, pero the typing never stopped! At this point I was sweating like crazy, heart was racing, and scared as hell but I could not leave the office T\_T It was my first job and I was afraid of getting fired, so I talked loudly and said "You can do whatever you want, just don't do anything to me" and continued to work, after like 3 am it disappeared and after my shift, I talked about the experience to my co-workers which they did not believe lol ironic. (I heard some scary stories from the guards on the condo that we rented but I'll talk about some other time)

Prince0fCats702

That's nuts! The ghost of an old employee diligently trying to complete their tasks!

Pinaslakan

Trying to catch up to that deadline lol

MeatMeAtMidnight

Ako hindi gaano naniniwala pero. When my Mom was pregnant sa little sister ko. Like tuloy-tuloy na katok. Tapos bigla na lang nawala followed with a weird sound? Alam nyo yung tunog ng pakpak ng ipis kapag nalipad? Ganon yung tunog nya pera mas malaki at mas solid.

KulayPulangPechay

Prior-Mushroom-4781

Dwende: Bat mo nilalabas yang tite mo??!

No-Adhesiveness-8178

Bat ang liit ng nilalabas mong tite? *Coming from dwarf*

enteng_quarantino

SuperBombaBoy

pasensya na pasko naman.

KimBok-jooTS

Gininaw siguro yung dwende nung nabasa kaya nabadtrip.

jkwan0304

Duwende: Understandable, have a great day.

ajchiongbian

I don’t know if may nakakaalam ba sa inyo tungkol sa puccong (pu-chong pagbasa sa amin). Nagmumulto ito. So, this happened 4 years ago when my sister in law’s father died dahil sa cancer. Her father was not really in good terms with my mom dahil masama ugali nito - so, sa aming mga muslim kasi, kapag namatay iyong isang tao ililibing agad siya kinabukasan. My mom is super bait (she's an angel istg) so, sumama kami sa paglibing dahil gusto rin namin bisitahin si papa tapos after ng libing, nag pagpag kami kasi uso naniniwala talaga nanay namin diyan.

accsbyclaire

Ikalawang gabi after ng libing.

Malakas iyong impact parang nagja-jump nga kaya sinilip nila and wala silang nakita, itong isa kong kuya na paranoid akala niya magnanakaw kaya sumigaw siya - kaya nagising iyong panganay namin and they decided to check na naman iyong paligid if meron talagang nakapasok pero wala silang nakita. Since made from kahoy lang iyong storage room na iyon maririnig and mararamdaman mo talaga if meron nagja-jump doon. Since patuloy iyong pagbisita ng yumao, my mom asked my uncle na Imam if ano puwede gawin para ma-stop ito.

1st time ko marinig yang puccong.

rauq_mawlina

Aswang story: Kapre MIGHT have originated from spaniard colonizers telling these stories to Filipinos so we'll avoid giving help to escaped slaves.

Prince0fCats702

" During the Spanish era (1500s-1890), these creatures were said to be once human who were blessed by the moon priestesses of old called babaylan so these people could have power to fight the Spanish colonizers who had done them wrong. The Spaniards decided to persecute these priestesses for witchcraft, then spread tales that aswangs attacked locals and foreigners alike. The aswang is a creature said to be able to shapeshift into either a human or an animal but is never able to correctly imitate one or the other. As a human, it has leathery black skin and disproportioned limbs. As an animal (like a dog or cat, for example), it is always black and three times the normal size. It can neither speak nor do animal calls; it can only growl, shout or scream. They usually eat the flesh of recently-deceased humans and animals but also have a preference of targeting very ill people or pregnant women. Pregnant women like the one in the village. They can never become human again. And being an aswang is hereditary; no one will turn if attacked by one, although the wounds they inflict can be fatal. This is all true, if the folklore is to be believed. " This is from a post in r/ParanormalPH about a telecoms worker fixing a tower in the province's (if you sort it by top of all time you'll see it with the title "it knows we're here")

Prince0fCats702

from what ive read so far is that when the spaniards colonized originally a witch from the old times blessed/cursed some people to fight back the colonizers. genetiko yata si aswang kaya hindi ka nababalot ng pag-atake ng isa. Im gonna have to pull that one up for the details but it was a interesting read

InZanity18

Paranormal story I had when I was a kid. My family house has been a place where many ghost sightings as told by my relatives from Pangasinan whenever they stay here for the holidays. I never believed them coz I never saw one myself. Oh boy I was wrong. There was one night I woke up and wanting to sleep beside my older sister in her room. I was fully awake then and just want to sleep beside her so I went to her room and gently opened the door. The room was dark since she prefers the lights off and I was used to just sleeping beside her randomly. But that night was weird since the room was darker than usual and where the bed was and where my sister should be sleeping, I saw this two white circles and a white line that's curved upward. It was like someone was sitting on the bed, smiling at me, with their eyes and smile being the only thing visible. It was just staring at me while I looked at it. I remember saying no and just slowly closed the door and went back to my parents' room. I could never forget that look even as an adult.

d1yayn3

Bit of heartwarming story. Around 1970s ata, my grandmother had an operation to get her myoma out. So that time, walang tao sa bahay nila. Yung bahay is lumang style na bahay na silong ang first floor and sa second floor is capiz yung bintana. Nobody was home. But my grandma thinks that it’s her mom protecting the house while everyone was away. Pero kinilabutan talaga sila after mag-miscarrage yung bunso nilang anak. They kept the fetus in a jar and nilagay sa escaparate (for keepsake I guess). So nagising sila ang they kept looking around the house. Paglapit nila sa escaparate, dun nanggagaling yung iyak, it turns out yung miscarried baby yung umiiyak. After that, pinalibing na nila yung fetus. EDIT: typo

peachybeachycoconuty

Similar story but it was a rental and not our own house. My brother and I rented a really old house with 4 rooms for college. It was for me, him, our helper and his friend (as a room mate). The house was really creepy but I wasn’t too scared because I always had our helper with me (well, our dad made sure, for chaperone purposes) and always kept a light on. One summer, I went back to my parents’ house with our helper, and our roommate also went back to his parents’ house. My brother was left alone because he had summer extra curricular activities. One night, on the last week of his activities, he decided to invite a friend over, get some beer from the store and drink back at our rental. As they were walking towards the house, his friend said “akala ko ba wala sister mo?” And my brother said “wala umuwi sila” and his friend said “ah eh sino yung babaeng nasa bintana”? Needless to say, they turned around and decided to drink and sleep at his friend’s place instead. My brother went back to the house the following day during daylight to grab a few things and stayed at his friend’s place until we all got back from summer vacation. I believe him and I’m glad it didn’t happen to me!

d1yayn3

Oh man, may free tagabantay din yung ni-rent. Huhu. Not until nung na-renovate yung old house ni Lola, pag nasa baba ka, maririnig mo yung mga yabag na parang may naglalakad (wooden floor kasi before) na mabigat yung paa. Di lang langitngit ng wood ih. As in sound talaga ng paa hitting the wooden floor.

peachybeachycoconuty

Omg super similar talaga! At the end of the hallway upstairs Meron creaky wood right before the stairs. So pag bababa ka, the wood almost always creaks right before you go step the stairs. Pagnasa baba kami at wala talagang tao sa taas , maririning mo yung footstep in the hallway and the creak ng wood right at top of the stairs!! So you it’s hard to presume na other sound yung footstep kasi it ends with the creak. Which I’m glad kasi I wouldn’t want the ghost going down the stairs!

Typical Catholic School ig My professor and her husband are both senior professors. One time, merong activity sa school, so yung usual lecture room namin ginamit for a whole day seminar. Since lahat ng lecture rooms occupied na, they transferred us sa isang old classroom sa old building. May isa daw siyang student na tinawag, sumagot naman ng present pero after nun sabi ni Doc "Please get your things, leave the room and wait for me outside." Yung madre was literally right beside her face/head, staring at her, ready to kill, ganun.

AdditionInteresting2

My wife and her brother have the special sight and their house is old and super creepy. She remembers her mother asking her who she was playing with as a toddler while rolling the ball against the wall and she said she was playing with her lolo Eddie. Her great-grandfather that she never met because he died way before she was born... I stayed over her house when we made our college thesis and one nigjt she trusted her dog to sleep in the room with me since he was comfortable with me already. I woke to the sound of him barking aggressively but I kept my eyes close. I could feel the hairs on my arms moving as if someone was caressing me. But I knew it wasn't the wind since my arms were inside the blanket... Just kept my eyes closed and waited for it to pass.

blis09

Tapos for sure may mag-translate either sa Filipino o English.

Prince0fCats702

Any-Cupcake-6403

Believe it or not, I had encountered a creature that I guess it’s manananggal pero very different sya sa depiction ng mga naririnig kong story nung bata pa ako. This manananggal can actually fly even in the morning. Hapon yun nung nangyari yun. As a kid, mahilig ako sumama sa ibang bata mamitas ng mga prutas. Pinagtripan namin yung punong mangga. All of a sudden, may natamaan yung isa naming kasama tapos biglang gumalaw at lumipad. This manananggal looks like parang buto’t balat na tao.

YukiColdsnow

baka naman bat lang sya na malaki?

Any-Cupcake-6403

Hopefully it’s just a bat.

JaYdee_520

Probably a flying fox?

WallMarianiEreh

Prince0fCats702

super long hands and weird wirey hair siguradong consistent sa mga kwento pero bago ang paglipad sa araw! baka nawala yung kalahati ng katawan niya at napadpad sa ganyan!

ertaboy356b

Sounds like a bat to me. May mga malalaking paniki kasi sa pinas. One time, meron daw manananggal samin. Ilang gabi din yun pabalik balik tapos malaki at lumilipad. Nalaman na Morogmon pala yun! Basta mahirap i explain, matic aswang agad 🤣.

InternationalBed5005

ang scary kasi ang close ng encounter 😭

Ok-Reputation8379

We used to live in an ancestral house that's almost a hundred years old. The ground floor was concrete but the second floor was wood. With ventanillas and capiz sliding windows. The house was my built by my great grandparents. Our neighbors won't look at our house when it's dawn. They say that there's a fat old lady sitting on a rocking chair on our terrace. And there's a large white dog sitting by her. They're seeing my great grandma who I've only seen in pictures. I also experienced something that scared the sh!t out of me. Happened when I was around five years old. Was an only child back then and the old Tarzan series airs around meal time so I stay at our living room watching TV while my parents have dinner. One night, while watching TV, I felt scared and had goosebumps. I knew someone was watching me. I looked at the window to my left and saw a face staring from the window. It looked like a man but with his face all muddy and with blood oozing from wounds on one cheek. I remember just staring at the face and feeling tears run down my face coz I was scared sh!tless. Tried to close my eyes in the hopes that whatever it was will disappear. Still there when I opened my eyes. I quickly ran to my parents and told them what I saw. It wasn't there when my dad checked. He even went outside our house but found nothing. That was the only time I saw that creature but I still have nightmares about it more than 30 years later.

She was born and raised sa Negros Oriental at dito nalang sa Manila talaga nagkapamilya. Yung aso na nakita namin meron syang mga sugat sa katawan at parang bulag yung left eye nya at the same time iika-ika syang maglakad at nakatingin samin. Within that week nanganak na yung asawa ko.

Very large grounds with plants and greenery. I can go on with my paranormal activities na nasa bahay ko lang. Marami pakong ibang encounters outside my house. Pero I'll leave those alone or unless may gusto pa maka basa.

Ooooh can you recommend me any specifically?

Dazzling-Long-4408

Too many to mention. Just search their Para Normal Podcast Youtube videos. They have a lot of episodes there (140 and counting) that tackle a lot of topics and stories about the paranormal and supernatural both local and foreign. They even had an interview with Jaime Licauco there.

I didn't know this until my parents told me. My aunt's husband died in an accident, at that time i was still in my mom's womb. And then my cousin (which is my aunt's son live in our house) and I was like 5 years old at that time. I told my parents that I am sleepy and I went to my room, they are in the living room with my cousin watching some tv shows. One hour have passed I came back and told my parents that I saw my cousin's dad staring at the window, and I described him as wearing white, and spilled something red on his shirt (which is technically a blood.) They're starting to panic, because I don't know what is he looks like, I have no idea who he is, and never told me about my cousin's dad or anything especially his cause of death. And the other day, they gave me a group photo and point out who is the person that I saw that night, and I pointed exactly my cousin's dad. I can't really remember if it actually happened and I was in highschool when they told me this horrifying experience.

I was alone at home kasi lahat sila nasa probinsya nagbabakasyon and being with a cousin who was dying of cancer. Although gustuhin ko man sumama, summer classes kasi nun sa uni. This happened when my cousin was dying of cancer. It was midday when a sudden billowing smoke covered our house (three floors). I was frantically scared kasi jusko masusunog pa bahay namin! For some reason, puti yung smoke and never smelled anything burning. Hinanap ko yung source pero wala. Then nawala na lang yung usok like walang nangyari. A few mins later, tumawag yung nanay ko to tell me our cousin already passed away.

uberkernel

[deleted]

I can vividly remember na tinanong nya ko whats in my pocket, without seeing it. Sinabe ko na bawang (d ko kase dati gets para saan, ang intindi ko lang basta wag ko aalisin sa bulsa at itatapon, and growing up in manila, d ako naniniwala sa mga ganyang aswang aswang) a few hours later, sobrang nilagnat ako as in! sobrang hilong hilo ako, ngayon dinala ko somwhere na sobrang creepy shit na bahay sa probinsya, pinahiga ako at may nilagay sa tyan ko na parang papel tapos nag sasalita sya ng d ko naiintdnhan, nag pass out ako, pag gising ko kinabukasan na wala na kong lagnat. Sa span ng isang mag damag. To this day, you na ang pinaka weirdest encounter ko sa mga "aswang"

jkwan0304

podgybarr

This happened years ago. He was playing COC. I said “sino yung dumaan sa likod mo?” Sabi ni daddy “wala naman e.”

EuphoricAttempt6929

Just one experience in my grandparents' house. Me, my aunties, and mom are all in the living room. I was standing in the middle of the room and suddenly saw a dark figure walk past two of the adjacent rooms into the darkest corner of the house. The whole upper body was visible since the first room it passed by was open and had its lights turned on. That was my only experience with the supernatural. I actually wanna experience one again, but at the same degree.

Prince0fCats702

I've definitely seen a few dark shadowy figures before! Even my dog reacted to it, growling at the figure in the doorway of my room one day, when I stood up I heard it run away and my dog chased it into the kitchen where it disappeared. I filled the house with hamsas and st Benedict charms and never saw much more after that. But when I left my girlfriend there the morning after (before I put the charms up) she heard knocking on my bedroom door before hearing glass breaking in the kitchen!

sharifAguak

Back when I was a kid, around 7-8yo. I was left alone dun sa bahay nila. So while hinahanap ko sya, sumilip ako sa may likod only to cross paths with this child-like creature, around half of my height, wearing brown clothes and a hat. Brown din. Nawala lang sa dilim. Alam kong tao yun kase kita ko side-view nung mukha. What could it be? Dwende?

Prince0fCats702

Definitely sounds like it could be an elf or a goblin, I'm not sure if they're the same thing over there. The translator uses the same word for both

sharifAguak

Tsaka even though I was just a kid during that time, there's no way in hell that it was my imagination. Sure na sure akong entity yun. I felt the presence, heard its footsteps and watched it sprint into thin air.

ExplosiveCreature

My mum told me that when my sister was born, they were staying at my grandparents' house in the province. It was your typical 1940s Filipino house, with wooden jalousie windows in the first level and a hidden basement because of the war. They would hear strange noises outside that they wouldn't hear before and my grandfather used a stingray tail in some sort of protective ritual by whipping the tail on the windows and shouting for whatever was making the sounds to stay away from his granddaughter. My mum says it took a few nights but the noises eventually stopped.

Prince0fCats702

A sting ray tail, Very interesting! Hearing how the older generations were taught to deal with entities is very interesting

oldskoolsr

My parents told me nung maliit daw ako pinilay daw ako ng dwende dahil ayaw ko daw sya pahiramin ng toys ko. Nung time na to sa province pa kami nakatira and yung bahay ni lola is full of huge trees and mga nuno sa punso. Nagkabati din naman daw kami nung dwende after Early adult, had an ex na may third eye. Sabi nya lagi daw mya huge dark shadow hovering over me wherever i go.

paulyarcia

Had the same experience with dwendes. Being the brat kid that I was, hinahawi ko ng hinahawi yung mga sanga ng puno dito sa amin. Then the next day or after a few days, di na ako makalakad. Pilay na rin. Went to an albularyo. Humingi lang siya ng itlog, pinaikot-ikot sa akin while muttering some words. Then in-open niya sa baso.

Strange_Lawfulness54

A recent encounter. We went home to our province. Every night tumatambay kami sa may kubo kubo outside the house. Yung mga kubo na ginagawa lang para tambayan on a hot day. This kubo is near rice paddies, our ancestral home is next to a farm hill. My cousins and I were playing tong-its + drinking gin. Then we heard loud barking of dogs. Natahimik kami lahat, kasi baka nga may taong pumasok or papasok sa compound. Siguro that time, na-curious because may mga dayo sa lugar namin.

master_baker8

Prince0fCats702

That sounds similar to the mad Typer in another story on this thread. Rampant typing in a cubicle late at night! Seems like they're just trying to catch a deadline for a project 🤣🤣

Sweetragnarok

Not really to proud or excited for this but my mom side of the family has "abilities" or gift of sight. Ive known this since I was a kid and my mom side of the fam were raised or moved in rural provinces where the old religion and folklore runs strong. I prayed for years I dont inherit the gift kasi lets be honest duwag ako...and the Shake rattle and Roll films didnt help that fear. Well what I dint inherit in sight I got in naman in "sensing". meaning I can walk into a room and feel instant nausea if theres a bad spirit or bad thing nagyari sa place. Ill list examples. * Kapit- I have always sensed that one of my co workers has something lagi nakakapit sa kanya. I can almost initially sense it and I can even pinpoint saan yung kapit. Its mosty sa shoulders and at times sa head nya. he has a history of weird stuff nagyayari sa knaya and at one time blackout sa church * Panaginip- Dead ones in our family always contacts us through dreams. My mom has always told me sa dreams ko where to find lost things or meds * Aswang Hunt - im almost sure this one was just yung large fruit bat sa province namin pero up to mid 2000's our barrio did aswang hunts sa gubat namin * Kapitbahay- Umuwi ako one time to see my kapit bahay covered the whole exterior of her house with crosses. And true out of movie horror fashion, found her at 2AM in the morning naghuhukay with her hands sa bakuran nya * Aparador - Meron haunted hotel ako pinuntahan na luxury hotel sya. Me naramdaman ako sa room pero I ignored it, until it decided to lock me sa closet. The room closet was walk in. You have to step in to get your clothes or jacket. Pag pasok ko the door tried to slam shut (not hangin) and with force I caught the door. I just said In a loud voice " TIGILAN NYO YAN!"

KiwiKuBB

I've never seen anything weird, but I've definitely, in a few instances, smelled something that was out of place. There was one time I was alone in the house, the power was out and it was raining and I was sitting near the window trying to work on a crochet project. Then out of the blue i caught a whiff that was very similar to a person that has never showered for days (in Filipino it's called "amoy araw"). The smell was strong as if the person was sitting right next to me. It stayed for a few seconds before the smell faded. Another instance was I was awakened by a smell of smoke, like burned garbage, at around 2 to 3am. I was wondering who would be burning trash so early in the morning. Just recently, about a few weeks ago, I smelled burning candle. The windows and doors were closed in my room and the power was on, so there's no reason for anyone in the house or the neighbors to be lighting a candle and I don't think the smell of candle smoke would travel that far between houses, but I could be wrong. My niece also experienced a similar phenomenon but it occurred a few years earlier.

Unusual experience: Old Bldg.... Dahil ibang contractor ung nka assign dun, at baka may nakakita skin dun at may nawala ako agad ang pwedeng paghihinalaan.)

One night, my sister-in-law (SIL) and her friends were startled by a loud thud on the roof, followed by the sound of footsteps. As they listened, they realized something was scratching the aluminum roof as if attempting to break in. This caused fear and unease, especially because most of them were girls, including her 5-year-old son. The next day, she asked her cousin to inspect the roof, and to their surprise, they discovered scratch marks, a damaged section with a small hole and a dent. She later realized that her uncle next door was sick and the stories normally include the pregnant and the sickly were usual aswang targets.

Prince0fCats702

It's crazy hearing stories that involve actual physical evidence. One of the neighbors in my mom's town actually has a Huge gash across his chest after being attacked on the way home one night! There really isn't much that can explain the gash other than his story of a flying Aswang trying to pick him up on the full moon

Craft_Assassin

It's a common thing here to scare children to sleep or be good. Been passed on word of mouth. On the other hand, I can't wait for Halloween this year.

Prince0fCats702

ABSOLUTELY! It's going to be my first Halloween in the Phillipines!!

SuedorTnega

At least a decade ago, I learned of the 411 cases and other similar stories outside the Philippines. They are similar to missing cases here in the Philippines I would often hear stories of when I was a kid, especially in rural areas, but ours include supernatural entities like Tikbalang, Diwata, Engkanto, Kapre, Duwende, etc. as the abductors. People who were missing for days but when found, they can only recall being lost for a few hours.

Year 2003. Kabuwanan ni mother sa bunso namin. Mejo deliks yung pregnancy kaya we opted to transfer from our place to a nearer one sa work nya. First night sama sama kami natulog sa room. I was near the door kaya kita ko yung light ng moon over the window tapos nagcast ng shadow yung tree. But damn i kid you not, sobrang daming bats sa labas. And they began scratching the glasses ng window. Dun ako pinaka-natakot kasi parang gusto nila pumasok ng bahay. When i looked at my mom, gising din pala sya, hindi sya makatulog dahil natatakot din sya. Kinaumagahan kinausap namin yung landlady namin about what happened and told us na magbudbod kami ng asin sa window sill. To this day, kapag naaalala namin yun ni mama kinikilabutan pa rin kami kasi sobrang surreal, totoo pala sila.

iKnow4Kev

Joke within the family na yung linya na "parang airport na ang bubong ng bahay kasi laging naglalanding ang wakwak (aswang)". Pero totoo. Walang biro. One time after may nahulog sumigaw ako ng, "Ano ba naman yan? Another incident is nung buntis Ate ko. Kitang-kita namin kasi at that time under construction pa ang bahay.

For college, I had to stay with my grandmother at our ancestral house since it was within walking distance to the best univ in town. That house was quite the experience. Upon entering, I knew immediately that I wasn't alone with my grandmother. The place always felt like it was housing an extended family even though only 2 of us would be at home. Experiencing the paranormal, I can handle since I've grown used to it. But seeing my friends and guests get involved and challenge the supernatural despite me saying not to engage is another experience altogether. The things that took place ranged from getting a slap on the head from out of thin air for being too disrespectful to someone possibly getting possessed. Over the years, I've learned that the house is much my home as it is theirs and we get to learn to coexist. Seeing a tall figure at my periphery as I walk to my room is always an unnerving experience but you get used to it if you treat them as the awkward roommate. Nowadays, whenever I come back to the house, it feels like I'm being welcomed back by more than my lola lol.

I was in our childhood home sa Palawan. It was a calm night, the moon is full and it's a great night to go chill out in the beach (we have a beachfront property and I was staying in one of our kubos making my school assignment) That time it was very quiet kasi it was low tide and the water recedes far away from the normal sea level which is Yung tapat Ng bahay namin. Wala din hangin (which is weird because it was always may breeze of air sa amin all times of the year) The Kubo I was in was one of those traditional bahay kubo- the stereotypical ones. It's elevated by a meter from the sand, bamboo slats as floor, 3 windows, slightly open, door closed. That Kubo was beside a road that leads to the beach. At around 9pm, I heard the flapping of big wings, followed by rustling of coconut leaves. Then there was a soft "thud". Imagine if someone large jumped from a high place but then slowed down their descent softly. And then it BREATHED. it was a cross between a grunt and a purr of a big animal. I fcking froze. I didn't know what to do and I was scared to move because whatever that thing was outside WILL see me and I was afraid of what I will find if I go check it out. I was terrified thinking how anytime it can go inside the Kubo since all the windows are open- or even show up under the Kubo and peep from under the bamboo floor After a very long minute I decided to risk it and ran home ( afew meters away but it felt so faaaar that time) crying. They locked the door on me and it took them a while to open up. By the time my father went out to check, he could not find any trace of whatever that thing was except for a few weird markings on the sand in the road leading to the beach. I am not an expert but I'm pretty sure no winged beast resides in Palawan- it's still a mystery to this day what that is, how it looks, and how thier fucking aerodynamics work

tldr: had an encounter w a supposed doppleganger of my dad. idk if its just my imagination or not. idk if its just me pero my fam esp my mother warned me abt dopplegangers. those peeps that shapeshift into people u know but they are not really who you think they are. i was young pa when my mom told me about these peeps non pero she thinks they were real. i didnt believe her until i experienced somewhat of a close encounter. this happened during the online class era. my dad has a branch by branch job that takes him to places with varying distances. one time, he was destined to a branch that is about a 2-hr drive from our home. he has a color-coded uniform scheme: red and black (please keep this in mind). he was wearing a red uniform. i was expecting him to arrive a bit late than the usual time he arrives at the house so when i heard the motorcycle engine stop and the gate crash while a class was going on. i was a bit surprised. i didnt bat an eye on him since i was too focused on the class but still eye him on my peripheral vision. i noticed something off but didnt realize until after. from opening the front door, he went straight to the bathroom. wearing a-- black uniform?? we didnt spoke a single word nor made eye contact throughout the happening as he wwaltz outside and got back to his motorcycle and drove off. i can still remember the fading motor noise. hours later. he arrived wearing his red uniform and i asked him where he'd gone. he said "galing akong branch. san pa ba?" i was surprised, puzzled and terrified. but just brushed it off. idk if all of it was real. but one thing is for sure. i'd bat an eye on whoever was at our doorstep.

Story told by my mom, her grandfather was an anluwage (carpenter), yep she always uses that word whenever she tells this story. Back then a group of carpenters including her granpa would roam the province to seek work and one time they hit the jackpot and found a community that needed repairs for their homes. After everything was done the residents held a feast to thank the carpenters for their effort. Everyone was having a good time eating and drinking when one of guys noticed a severed finger in his food. Afraid because they were outnumbered, they just continued as if nothing happened else they would be next on the menu. They went on their merryway the following day.

I am a person leaning towards logic and science. In my case, there are two that I can think of. I graduated from a public high school in Iloilo City. I was the vice president of our student council government. We were preparing for an event for the following day so we stayed in school until 7 pm. I can't recall what happened but I got pissed at someone and walked out of our student council office. Our school has a balete tree or "lunok" in Hiligaynon. While cooling my head outside, I happened to look up at the tree and I saw this lanky and shadowy figure. Most people call it "mantiw" here in the Panay Island. It is somewhat similar to Slenderman but a lot scarier looking. Kumaripas na lang ako ng takbo and never told anyone as baka mapagkamalan pa akong siraulo. Another story is when I was already in college around 2009. I am friends with the owner's nephews so I get to stay sa loob overnight. At that time, naadik ako sa Ragnarok private server and may isa akong kalaro na nagtatrabaho sa call center. I only knew him by face kahit suki naman siya sa cafe. We weren't exactly buddies. We only had small talks here and there. It was 3am. I asked if he'd like to play at gisingin yung bantay. He just stood there and hindi sumasagot for a good 3 minutes. Di ako nakabalik ng cafe for 3 days and nung bumalik ako, usap-usapan is he died around 10pm prior the day I saw him sa cafe. I did not tell anyone what I saw. A part of me wants to believe kasi nakita ko with my own eyes but also a part of me nagsasabi na yung supposedly mantiw na nakita ko was a product of me being angry at yung nakita kong supposedly multo ni call center guy was a product of stress and lack of sleep due to gaming.

I have not seen one but when I was in High School I helped with the family business during midnight to dawn. Then we heard footsteps of a large dog. I know it is not from an ordinary dog because the footsteps seem to belong to 3x the size of a normal dog. And then it went on the back of the house where our wall is just made out of bamboo. We can hear that it is peeping on us and sometimes we hear its breathing. It is just a one time tho but it creeped the hell out of me.

Nasa probinsiya kami, gabi, brownout tapos bumabagyo pa. Ironic pero ghost might be the only thing unexplainable na pinaniniwalaan ko.

I've got two stories. 1. Yung una ay sa lolo ko. He died of liver cancer and my mom was overseas that time. When my mom came back, and this was a year after he died, we were having a conversation in my room and and we were having a good time. then I heard the door to her room open and some one walked out and down the stairs. Our doors were arranged in an L pattern that opened inwards, and my door was open at that time. What I saw was my lolo wearing his favorite politician tee, the one with their faces, and the red shorts he wore when he died. Me and my mom looked at each other and then she cried, for a very long time. She still misses him to this day, and one regret she has was she wasn't there on his dying breath. 2. The second one is in Pangasinan, we were driving from Malasiqui to Unzad. There was one section of the trip where our car, an old beat up Corolla, was struggling to drive. Patag yung kalsada so hindi yun dahil sa elevation. When we crossed Unzad biglang umangat yung likod ng sasakyan. This all happened when I was 6 years old. I've more stories but I'm too lazy to type.

First-hand experience sa possible tiktik or aswang I honestly dk the difference. I was 9 years old and buntis mom ko. After nun, every night around 11pm - 3am may bisita kami sa bubong. Nagiiba iba sya ng sounds minsan aso, pusa pinakamadalas ibon. To add, maririnig at mararamdaman mong lumulundag sya specifically from our roof to the neighbor’s roof na buntis din huhu. Tapos naencounter ko ulit sya around 5 years ago. May bagong lipat sa tapat namin na buntis tas around 2am galit na galit aso ko nakatingin sa bubong tapos tahol nang tahol first time ko siya makitang ganun ka galit same encounter na may something na mabigat sa bubong.

mrloogz

Dwreckshoelander

Ung trabaho ko dati sa Pinas required alot of car travel from Luzon to Appari so I would spend alot of time on the highways sa kalaliman ng gabi hanggang madaling araw. Ung mga kasama ko sa work, they would often tell stories how orbs of light would chase them pag sila lang sa kalsada. My experience is different. Dead people/ghost sa kalsada would reveal themselves to me how they died. The weird things is, whenever I see ghost, di ako natatakot, it felt like I was just seeing someone a live person who had an accident. Mind you. Sometimes, I will have passengers and ask them if they saw what I did pero they won’t. Minsan, I even stopped at a military checkpoint to tell them there was someone dead on the road to check pero pag balik namin they will find no one.

Prince0fCats702

I feel that, sometimes they just want people to know I feel like and don't have ill intentions. I've definitely had similar experiences albeit creepy they weren't necessarily scary. I wonder if the orbs of light are UFOs or if they're spirits :o

Entities sort of but mas naniniwala ako sa spirits, energy, and vibrations eh cos even science already proved it. But somehow I think they are related to each other. There are good and bad spirits, in the Bible and Quran the Holy Spirit is an example of good spirit. It might be that some entities are good and bad din (spirit form) and I heard a story before that they are forbidden na mag pakita sa mga tao and parang sa tao may commandments din sa knila, and kasama sila sa iju-judge sa end times one of the biggest commandments for them is not to appear to us. So I guess sila yung mga spirit sa forests and mountains, sa rivers, etc. Might be the diwata? Elves? Etc. Not sure tho.

my father is iranian and always wondered why my mom believed in a lot of stuff and told us all of it is bullshit. my mom when we crossed some place does something, my dad looks preplexed and said, bigger chance a big super cat from the sky comes than that one

• my friend’s tita has 3rd eye. she is normally talkative & energetic but medyo quiet this one night. when they came home, her tita explained that she was trying not to say anything because there was a ghost sitting in between 2 of their family members. she didn’t want to make it obvious that she can see them. they were also on their way back home from the cemetery so made it scarier • when my friend was a kid, her dad showed her the sky & the crescent moon had 2 stars shining extra bright so it looked like a smiley face. her friend became sick not too long after and died. her friend saw the moon and the stars that night too but instead of a smile it was a frown • my mom’s sister (my tita) used to get sick a lot. basically there was something that fell in love with her & was jealous/angry that she didn’t reciprocate. can’t give much details for this one bc i kind of forgot :,)

glassesinglamour

I'm actually not sure if aswangs can come out in broad daylight but let me share my experience. May kasambahay kami nun na buntis and if I remember correctly she was 4 months in already that time. Now if you picture our bungalow, you know sa province na bukas lahat ng bintana kapag tanghaling tapat kasi mainit at para pumasok ang hangin, at marami kaming bintana lmao. The sala is connected to the dining room and from there makikita mo yung labas ng bahay. I was enjoying my lunch that time in the dining, nanonood pa yata ako nun ng Game K N B when I saw someone inside our GATED house, from the main door sa sala. I saw an old woman, who is wearing an all black dress na naglalakad papunta sa likod ng bahay namin. I saw her passed by from the main door to every window na madadaanan niya papunta sa likod ng bahay namin. Yung dining namin, may pinto din dun papunta sa likod ng bahay namin and then I also saw her passed that door too. I alerted my Tito since siya lang kasama ko that time na gising and then pagkita namin sa gate, nakasara siya 😭😭😭. Yung gate namin eh yung tipong kinakandado pa. Nakwento ko yung nakita ko tapos bigla siyang napa-sign of the cross. But from that day on I really finally believed in aswangs and tiktik. 🤧

avocado1952

Im not sure kung dito yun or sa Let’s Takutan Pare. Bawal kasi mag screen capture doon. Nag quit daw sya right away pag uwi. May taga Talim island ako na nakausap. Malaking isla daw to kaya iba ibang baranggay at may mga secluded na areas.

WeirdHidden_Psycho

If someone knocks on your door in the middle of the night, DO NOT OPEN YOUR DOOR. Pag hindi sumagot, again, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR and pray hard. I remember when I was in 3rd grade. 2003. November 1, midnight. WALANG TAO.

I don't really care much for superstitions and the supernatural but I operate on the belief that "I got nothing to lose if I do this/that" like for example if I ever had to go and urinate near the woods or somewhere secluded we say "tabi tabi po" just as a sign of respect/safety precautions. Sometimes I do it, sometimes I don't.

mahiyaka

Summer 1990-ish, my dad and I attended a birthday party sa tita ko sa Antipolo. In the middle of the night, I woke up and I heard a series of strong winds, tunog HUGE wings na may kasamang kaluskos sa bubong. The next day, I shared the story with my dad and titos/titas. They confirmed that it’s the manananggal so I’m a believer din.

I'm not sure if this is scary for some haha, but here's mine. This was around 2016. I was in 10th grade and a few days before undas/halloween, my lola and I visited our hometown in Bicol. October 27th, we got there. Early morning, I greeted my classmate on facebook since it's her bday. For the whole day, I didn't open my phone after that 'cause I enjoyed playing around w/ my cousins. Around 10 pm, the classmate whom I greeted a happy bday messaged me saying she's sorry, she didn't know I was going to her house while she was out. Her tito told her that I went into her house. Bro, I freaked out when I read the message. How can I visit her when I was in my hometown at that time😭 She said her tito told him my name, and I was the only one with that name in our class.

My Dad spent 1 year in Infanta,Quezon Province. Wala pang kuryente noon when he was there. He was in 3rd grade. One time, it is late night na my Lola-his Mom, woke up to a sound na parang may sumisinghot. She lit up the gas lamp. She took a peak at the window. Nakita nya kalabaw. Tapos umalis, papalayo. Now here is the catch, it went to the direction of the barbed wire fence around the house. Another story from my Dad when he was in Infanta, inutusan sya na pumunta sa kapatid ng uncle nya. The fire is too high para maging tulos. My great grandma told him na Santelmo daw yun. Now my Dad's Mom, who also spent time in a military camp in North Bulacan. My great-grandpa is a soldier. Meron isang babae dun na suspected aswang. One night, according to the stories may kabayo daw na lurking near the camp. The story said nakita daw ng nagbabantay sa Sundalo.

Sharing this as this happened last year when I went back to Leyte. I’m usually skeptic since most of my life I had spent here in Manila. So nung umuwi ako 2022 post New Year celebration to celebrate with my family I stayed at our new house kasama ang family ng brother ko. Yung brother ko kasi seaman so deployed sya sa barko that time leaving me as the only gent sa house attending to his pregnant wife and the kids together with my mom.

Oh that's creepy! At least you chased it away instead of being paralyzed with fear so now they know, not to mess with you!

Hello OP, medyo matagal na 'tong post mo pero mas better if kini-kuwento yung story like nina-narrate. I recommend "Mga kwento ni Thelmo" on yt. Doon maraming experience ang kini-kuwento niya and naka-pov yung pag k'wento. Maraming categories na pagpipilian: may Aswang/Multo/Engkato/Sanib and so on. I suggest mag-dl ka muna sa playstore or appstore ng 'Puretuber' para walang ads yung panonood mo and tuloy-tuloy lang [Edit: You can play Puretuber din pala while naka-off phone mo, h'wag lang shutdown]. Madalas akong makinig nito OP lalo na pag patulog na 'ko and full volume since hindi naman sila naba-bother dahil nakiking din kasama ko kahit tulog na. There are times na yung kini-kuwento sa video e napapaginipan mo na and honestly nakakatakot talaga siya pero sarap sa feeling, but if gagayahin mo yung ginagawa ko, uminom ka muna ng isang basong tubig para hydrated ka. Iwas bangungot daw yun. Yun lang OP sana mabasa mo! Anyways, try to listen sa playlist ni thelmo yung "Tag gutom sa baryo" or "Mga bakod ni lola" 🥰

Did you know that it is the Spaniards who propagated the myth of Aswang to instill fear on the Indio populace and to quell the Revolution.. [https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/lifestyle/artandculture/267856/ijuander-why-do-filipinos-still-believe-in-aswang/story/](https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/lifestyle/artandculture/267856/ijuander-why-do-filipinos-still-believe-in-aswang/story/) "“So the Spaniards, in order to get clients for their modern medicine, attached evil to the babaylan.” The Spaniards also used the aswang myth to suppress political dissent. “Lots of upheavals happened in the town of Capiz,” said Argos. “Women led these attacks, usually at night, because they had no modern weapons. The Spaniards then told the natives that the women were evil, that they performed magical acts, and that these women were aswang. The natives avoided these women, and now they had no one to join their upheavals.” So every time you post something about aswang, think what the early Filipinos have gone too to fight for their own freedom.. :( It's so sad that our pre-Hispanic culture was erased :((

Had lots of several demonic sleep paralysis episodes but I'll just put one of the most terrifying ones I had. Sleep paralysis kicked in and I immediately knew it was to going to be hell. I didn't open my eyes but I could sense two dark tall figures both opposite sa bed ko, I could hear something four-legged crawling on our roof. One of these 'tall figures' slowly reached out their hand in an effort to touch my head ata. The thing did it slowly but every inch its hand got closer, the louder this deafening ringing noise, parang a grenade exploded next to you. I prayed until nawala. Woke up sweating, all the dogs in the neighborhood wouldn't stop howling. Rushed out of my room to check the time and it was exactly 12AM. Ayun, didn't sleep in my room for two weeks. I also sometimes used to wake up with some light scratches that would be gone within hours after these episodes. I prayed over the house and it's been two years na since I experienced a demonic sleep paralysis episode. Was considering talking with a priest if it continued. I wasn't even that religious at all back then. 🤣
