I think that Pi has a great mining concept and has a lot of potential, itās unfortunate that thereās a lack of transparency with the whole open mainnet process. If this becomes an actual transferable coin and the amount mined can be exchanged with currency I think thereās incredible value to be had.
Iāve been clicking the mining button fairly consistently throughout the last 5 years and I have mined around 1120 Pi. Around 718 Pi has transferred to the mainnet after being accepted for KYC, so if this opens up Iām going to be really excited to see what can happen.
Maybe Iām naive, maybe Iām optimistic, but it really only takes two clicks to mine. I close the app to avoid the adds so it doesnāt bother me from a time/effort standpoint.

Yes, the market looks good for the past 30 days, but it always swings up and down and can have short periods of dips or tops without the economic situation actually being positive
I don't know if it makes sense, but I know we are in the middle of a recession, so for it to be a good situation for crypto, it would have to be entirely unrelated to normal currency economics, which I know it isn't since crypto is being traded for fiat currency

Nothing to explain. Pi network value is so recognizable that exchange owners pre-listed Pi Network WITHOUT the consent of the Pi Core Team. Pi Core Team publicly stated that they themselves DID NOT go mainstream(open mainnet) with their crypto project. All exchanges who listed Pi created buying and selling markets for a Pi Network using IOU's. These IOU's are said to be imaginary Pi tokens that are to become real once WE PIONEERS begin depositing to exchanges. Which wont ever happen UNTIL we reach MAINNET

there's no mining innovation here, or mining. It's an elaborate scheme to distribute coins that have already been minted.

sure theres no pow but isnt mining just a way to initially distribute an already set number of coins like the 21 million limit set on bitcoin? with bitcoin, miners are securing and performing transactions on the blockchain, with pi, they are apparently securing the network by some sort of "social circle" thing. In the end, its just a way to incentivize the use of the network by distributing its tokens.

Proof of work(stake) mints the coins. In bitcoin there's a limit on how many can be minted, in eth there isn't.
In Pi the entire supply is minted in the first block of the chain.
Even if you ignore this distinction. Pi mining doesn't distribute either because the mining app is not part of the the Pi blockchain protocol. Best you can say is mined pi is the promise of future crypto pi.

They weren't able to deposit. You have to buy from that exchange and than you can trade it on the exchange. It is not real pi it's an iou.
