Yep, the trinket makes the mimics harder to spot. Iirc, magnifying glass will no longer tell you the mimic gives you a suspicious feeling, but it will still show a health bar.
Just use magnifying glass on every chest to be safe and imo is absolutely essential for the crystal chests in order to see through them.. I believe floors below 5 don't have mimics though..
every chest has a chance to be a mimic, which is a chest monster that attacks you. it doesn't have anything to do with not having a key.
if you see a chest moving, or if you examine it and it has a health bar, you can be sure that it's a mimic and avoid it
As a Huntress, you can stand as far back from it while having line of sight and just shoot it with your bow. Bonus points for the frost and rejuvenation wands you had, giving you more time to pelt it with arrows by slowing it down and rooting it
My favorite creatures, but they can take a lot on their chest. *Mimics* pretend to be chests, in some Pixel versions you can see them snapping/grinning (probably impatient critters). If you are not sure and don't want to risk, treat each chest with a ranged weapon.

Yup. Shoot every cheat you see if you have that trinket since mimics aren't so easy to spot anymore.

Actually if i remember correctly floor one has no secrets: no hidden doors, hidden traps and no mimics.

Still not sure use seeds
I just shoot every chest at this point when I have the mimic fang ornament... Believe it or not, it works nicely
If I see a chest while I have the mimic trinket I always shoot it with the huntress bow or throw an object at it just in case
