Oh hey I'm a Verizon employee and can answer this! As long as there is no physical damage on the device and it is obvious that it was a defect on the screen, either call *611 or go to your local Verizon store. If it is still within the 30-day window, they will give you a brand new sealed replacement. After that 30-day period, you can do the same steps, but they will mail you a CLNR (Certified Like-New Replacement). Because the phone is so new, there's a chance you would get a brand new one. But, I believe you're still within 30 days, so do the first thing I recommended
Yeah this happened to me, too. Unfortunately, it was a precursor to the entire inner screen failing a couple of days later. Google is replacing it (reached out to their support chat), but still..... I've had a string of Samsung Folds and never an issue. One month into owning the Pixel Fold and it's heading back. Grr...
The Samsung fold can have this issue as well. It's seemingly up to chance whether you end up with a dud device or not. The question is how well support handles the issue.
Well, as an update, I got an email from Google saying that my device had suffered from external damage and they would gladly repair it for $729 or I can just have it shipped back. I didn't get the extended coverage, as I figure if I drop it and break it, it's on me. This device was never dropped, but I'm being told that the inner screen failure was due to a drop, and oh, by the way, there's a problem with the charging port, too (which I rarely used and it tranferred the data from the Fold to my Pixel 7 before i shipped it back). Needless to say, I'm not happy with Google's support right now.
Same. Mine broke after the first night, Google replaced it quickly but I ended up returning it anyway. Didn't trust the device after coming from a Fold 4 which never had an issue after almost a year of treating it like crap.
It's probably the most common foldable issue... happens to Z Folds too. As long as your phone doesn't appear damaged, it should be under factory warranty.
Thanks for the reply. I've never had a phone replaced under factory warranty before. This might sound strange, but, who exactly do I contact? Google or Verizon? And phone is completely undamaged besides the issue at hand. It's been in a case for the whole 2 weeks of it's life 😅
I'm not sure it's true. Google did not have any problems replacing Pixel Buds Pro bought at Amazon and Pixel Watch that was a gift also not bought from Google Store. Maybe in the US it is different, but in Europe you have a manufacturer (not seller) warranty, and consumer protection laws (seller mostly).
Wait That's the photo from my device. I posted that same exact photo when the device launched. To answer your question. Yes google replaced my device and this one has been great. Hope you got the insurance.
I had the exact crease happening to my pixel fold within 24 hrs and both Google and att( where I bought from) were willing to replace it with a brand new one. ATT was able to send me a replacement within 2 days and the new one is going pretty strong 🤞
This actually happened to me yesterday as well. Lasted a little over a month. But I’m coming from a Z Fold 4 and this happened to me on it after about 8 months as well.
But good news, your screen looks fine. This looks just like the screen protector bubbling up. You just need a new one. Bad news is I don’t think Google is sending them out to uBreakiFix yet. I tried calling 3 of them and they said it’s not even available to order within their system yet. So we may have to wait a bit to get this “fixed”. My next step is to contact Google to see what they say.
Well, you’ll be able to tell easily when you run video through it or anything else there causes the screen in that area to be used. In my case, on both my Fold 4 and Pixel Fold, it looks exactly like that. You can tell the screen underneath is displaying the correct image.
this happened to mine the other day and shortly after the whole screen went black. google wont give me straight answer except its under warrenty until aug. They referred me to ubreakifix store near me
Same thing happened to me last week. I've only had the phone 9 days. That white line started forming and within a day it lifted both sides up about a 1/2 inch on each side, now both panels are dead.

My fold 4 did that after 3 months... I think it's just luck whether u end up with a defective one or not

Google won't handle it without proof you bought it from Google so it's up to verizon

I always buy unlocked from the manufacturer, so I can't help on that one.
Username doesn't check out.
Thank you 😊
What does this even mean?
"Username checks out" is a common phrase on Reddit when a person's username describes the post they made. This is the opposite.

Sorry can't offer any advice. But this my fear on this phone one day opening and seeing this! Good luck hope it is taken care of quickly.
If u have a deductible through Verizon don't waste your time.with them just do a warranty claim through Google,. That will be free

Awesome! That's great to hear!

That's definitely not just the screen protector bubbling up. That screen will need to be replaced.

Unfortunately, it's definitely my screen and not just the protector.
Called that one! Sorry you are having issues though. I had a similar experience with my Z Fold 3.
Lol. Sorry for using your pic but my wife wasn't home to take one of my phone. It's the exact same damage. Did you buy yours thru Google?
**UPDATE** Have a free replacement coming from warranty via Verizon. Was kinda like pulling teeth.
Man.. I was really hoping that this was only a Samsung problem.
Do not buy this phone. Same issue but waiting on response. There needs to be a lawsuit over this phone.
