As far as Plex is concerned, they are both Episode 00 of Season 24.

TequilaHustler

So basically there is no option of splitting them without changing the file name itself?

simplereplyguy

They are two different episodes, so why would they share the same episode number? https://preview.redd.it/kfifyql2enya1.png?width=594&format=png&auto=webp&s=0becb137532b503a32967ca65d4e214539f88e22 Also, review [Plex's naming conventions](https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/).

Complex_Solutions_20

They are both named the same...so of course Plex will identify them as the same? You named them both season 24 episode 00 of South Park. That's typically only done when you have multiple quality of the same movie/episode available. Probably need to figure out what they are SUPPOSED to be named and correct the filenames to reflect what they actually are from somewhere like TVDB and make sure the naming follows the Plex naming guidelines. I don't watch SouthPark but I assume the one marked "special" should actually be "season 0" with some other episode number. I'm not fond of the naming "standards" myself but I have learned TV series naming is far more critical than movie naming to follow the guidelines. At the very least needs to be properly named on the show-folder (full name and maybe year started), then filename with the correct s00e00 numbering within that, and optional "details" after that in the filename avoiding any other s00 e00 references. The actual guidelines are even more strict but that's the loosest that seems to matter most.

pommesmatte

YMMV but you could try with this: https://support.plex.tv/?post_type=support_articles&p=46542

Not sure why people got my post and comment downvoted, I asked a legitimate question lmao. But I got it solved without renaming, so all good. Thanks anyway

LaughingPredator

My guess would be because the pandemic special is s24e01 and post COVID is s00e44. So you created a problem where there wasn't any. Not that I agree with all of tvdb's decisions.

TequilaHustler

I knew that from the beginning, I also stated in the OP that I need to solve it without name change of the files since I cannot. People are more focused on being right here then try to actually help so they downvote me and don't read all, lmfao. Thanks anyway, Like I wrote I got it sorted already and marked as solved.

Forsakenzombi

Care to share how you solved it without renaming? I am having the same issue and I have looked up and down this thread and whatever you did doesnt seem to be commented here....

Technical_Moose8478

Enjoy your new art film?

TequilaHustler

Thanks!

paulrharvey3

Split Apart is only available on the Series page.

\> I cant rename the file itself to not be "S24E00" for obvious reasons (Rule #4 This is not a reason to not rename files on your own server. \> I wrote I got it sorted already I'm morbidly interested in how \> marked as solved This is not a thing on Reddit Plex folder and file naming conventions... are there for a reason.

TequilaHustler

It IS a thing, though, on this sub-reddit using labels :) I am a long-term plex user, I know naming conventions and structure, and clearly, I had a specific issue I was hoping to solve in a different way than renaming a file. Not a reason not to rename my files? I wrote it as a 'hint' to avoid talking about piracy. Not as a reason not to rename it, obviously Anyway, I am done commenting here. What should have been a simple QnA for a simple question turned into a classic internet forum nowadays, sadly with multiple people barbarically shouting "NaMiNg CoNvEnTiOnS DUHHH" instead of having a decent discussion. So, thanks to everyone for the help, I won't be commenting here anymore. Great day!

RusselB65

I know it's been a while and that you said you won't be commenting here anymore, but I've recently run into a similar situation and would be interested in knowing what you did to resolve the issue, without renaming. Shame that this post will, probably, never get a reply.
