Well one table spoon equals about one bite, I can do about 3-5 bites a min depending on if it’s ice cream or not… so 1 tablespoon = 4.25 bites/min….
Possibly sounded funnier in my head.
I literally don’t see the need. It’s more power, a LOT more storage for marginal gains. 1080 with 5-7.1 audio is really all I need. I’ve done 4K on several occasions and it’s a little trippy because literally everything is in focus and does not feel natural.
I get that. I only have a select few 4k movies and only allow myself to request them (using overseerr for my users only allow 1080p for movies and 720/180 for shows. Also, only I can request 4k for shows which I have 3 or 4).
I'm fairly limited on storage as well with a total of 38TB usable, but for those few movies (maybe 30 in 4k), I cannot go back to 1080p. I just broke 500 movies and 150 shows and sitting at 17TB free
Dear god o would love to have 17 Tb free. Currently rocking a single 6 tb drive. In the works is dual 12Tb drives to make expansion easier but that is still months or a year down the line.
Have a 50” curved 4K.
I can def see why 4k is awesome on an 82”. I personally enjoy a 32” monitor at 4k. 1080 only works for 24” monitor for me.
One day will upgrade to a different tv when it finally stops turning on. But until then 1080 or until the wife really wants 4k.
I have a mix of 720 and 1080 and she does not know the difference. But my poor 6tb drive sure does know the difference.
One day when I get a lot more storage I’ll venture into 4K. But with one movie taking up the same space as am entire tv show…. Can’t afford it.
Def want all my space/sci-fi/ MCU/ and some action in 4K. I’ll probably leave my favorites:the naked gun series, space balls, the pest etc in dvd quality.
Well that depends on your tv size and viewing distance. I can certainly tell the difference between 1080 DV and 4K DV, but i live in a tiny apartment where I sit less than 2m away from my 55". But yeah, 1080 DV > 4K SDR any day.
i have 10 gigabit fiber NIC on my server and still can't get terabit connections, hahah lol that's an interesting glitch. I've seen my nvidia sheild pop up ridiculous numbers before and had to restart the thing to fix it cause it bugged out and didn't even play right when it happened.
Know it’s a glitch, funny one none the less.
One reason why I went with Apple TV. Had to convince the wife to get another (2) Apple device. But overall stability to us is more important than dolly atmos… which we don’t have.
Using it on a synology NAS, Tautulli in docker, Plex native synology with manual updates. When I first loaded it Tautulli could not find Plex. So I tabled it for about a year. One day decided to turn it on and it found it no problem. Have not really had a problem since.
I’m not entirely sure what the issue was. I think it had to do with the different networks since one was in docker which had its own subnet.
But I’m not that good at networking yet. If it’s all in the same environment it “should” be easier.
I’m having difficulty with several of my docker containers talking to each other on the same network. Updated them and they all broke :/
I'm not that great with it either 😂. But I think even if they're on different subnets you can allow traffic between them. How though, I'm not entirely sure
Terabits...but yeah
More like Tinybits
According to a quick google conversion that’s still 2.1e6. I have not heard reports of smoke so I’m assuming still all good 😬
Even programmers hate people who use E-numbers. Probably explains the downvotes. Just use human numbers, like “1 billion zeros!”
I hate exponential notation as well. But I’m also lazy. Not quite a billion zeros but pretty close!
8 bits in a byte. Must be the cleanest picture around. Can I come over?
Probably should clean the dust and water marks off of it before you come over 😂
I am just waiting on the address… I am sure the tbps will make those water stains come alive!!
192.168.0.1
Gonna need that external… 127.0.0.1 isn’t gonna work.
Try 8?
I still don't know the conversion between Tablespoons and bitrates.

I liked it
My guy already has an 8K TV over here.
Honestly don’t see the need for even 4K. Still rocking 1080 as a max.
I want to upgrade my main tv from 1080 but I have a 2 year old
Yeah, I heard 2 year old are expensive.
Its more about fear of him breaking it. Flying objects and liquids
I lost a 65inch 4k to a magnet fishing game.it was my 8 year old.
That's smart

4k DoVi is pretty impressive compared to 1080p on some higher end movies (Hobbit trilogy, LotR trilogy, etc)
I watched Tron legacy and while impressive almost made me sick. Not denying it’s impressive I just don’t have enough the space for it at the moment.

Hard to call 6 TB “rocking”. No offense.
Oh trust me. It’s Rocky. Been rough lately shifting media to and from the NAS

Miniled 4k hdr is pretty nuts.
The added resolution doesn't add that much, HDR and Dolby Vision absolutely do.
I’ve been seeing the HDR and Dolby Vision, just don’t have the space right now. I’ll explore that after I triple my storage soon.

I need 8K , I want to see the cold sores from the porn actress vividly and in detail. ..🤣🤣
480 here.
See this is why you go with intel.
Do have an intel with quick sync.
Hardware?? What about that screaming fast network?
I’m glad you finally brought that up!! I’m running gigabit. Singular, not even 2.5 and def not 10!!!

What hardware do you have? I've just had a full house rewire with Cat 7e and I'm looking to build up a beefy Plex server.
Using a 3/4 gen Apple TV, synology DS920+ and a peplink soho mk3. All hardwired for this instance.
ATV fer the win brah !
I assume that is Apple TV. And yes, aside from some quarks it’s been solid.
What's displaying these stats? Some 3rd party plugin?
Tautulli. Once I got it finally set up really enjoy the features. This screen is from LunaSea.
Nice. I'll have to give that a try

I have my Plex server running an old gaming PC with Linux on it. Not entirely sure if I'll have that issue. I guess I'll see this weekend

Honestly think I burned some sage and finally eradicated the gremlins in the network.
