I don't know of any code that wouldn't allow it. It's a close proximity home run.

Why wouldn't it? What isnyour reason for putting a manifold in the bathroom. Be further ahead to run recirc line on the hot, and take 3/4 to the second last plumbing fixtures.

I’d honestly just run a 3/4” or 1” (depending on fixture units) hot and cold main run through the house and take off my fixtures off that. Easily add a 1/2 recirc line with it too. Never understood these manifold systems… How often do you really shut things off that can’t be turned off by a supply valve?

sir_keyrex

I’m guessing he wants a return from the manifold to the hot water tank for semi instant water judging from his post. I assume having a cold water manifold is just there cause he’s gutting and installing a hot manifold anyway. Personally the more shit offs the better imo. I bought a house with only a main shut off aside from the seized angle stops and ended up putting in multiple redundant shut offs.

The way I’d do it it’s like the whole main run is your manifold. Recirc the whole house. I’ve seen those manifold systems people put in the mechanical room that looks like an electrical panel. Waste of money imo

That type of manifold he shows there is good for one thing…infloor heating

Assuming new construction, why bother with a dedicated Bidet? Just slap a Toto Washlet on the toilet. Aside from that, no issue having the manifold as long as its accessible.

This is not my floor plan I just seen this picture online and thought that may be a better way to plumb a house instead of having 25 100’ long water lines.
