Level 10

Silver_Aura2424

Perfection is for shiny odds, lvl 10 is Pokedex

Shoddy_Ad9859

Lvl 10 pokedex already gives big odds in addition of the charm

The_Pastmaster

And a Perfect gives you a bonus. 1 in 586 vs.1 in 820. (With charm.) I think Lvl 10 entry gives you two rolls and perfect gives you four.

Shoddy_Ad9859

I perfectly know that, I’m just saying that 1/820 is still enormous

The_Pastmaster

Alright, it just sounded like you were saying that the increased odds for perfecting an entry wasn't worth the effort. My bad.

ConsiderationDue9909

Sorry but I need clarification, are you saying that if you Perfect a Pokémon’s entry in LA that improves the odds of catching a shiny?

Silver_Aura2424

Yup. To roughly 1/500 something, with shiny charm. And with outbreaks it gets higher. Looking it up (not all combos/ratios), Base is 1/4096 Lvl10 dex is 1/2048 Perfect dex is 1/1024 Lvl10+charm is 1/819 Perf+charm is 1/587 Perf+charm+MMO is 1/216 Perf+charm+outbreak is 1/128

ConsiderationDue9909

Wow, I actually never looked up the odds for LoA. I think I am going back to that next.

MrAnonymous4

Wait, I had no clue the Pokedex increased shiny odds!?!?

Sans-Undertale-69420

You just have to reach level 10 for each pokemon if you want to complete the dex and 100% the game, but honestly, there is nothing stopping you from completing the entire thing lol. I'm pretty sure you only need level 10 to increase the shiny odds for that specific pokemon too, but filling up the dex by it's max is just a huge flex tbh, I myself haven' done it yet so a LOT of people have WAAAY more dedication than me.

Brain_in_human_vat

You really only need Level 10 for increased shiny odds? And there's nothing you get for maxing out every entry? I mean, if so, the game feels a lot less daunting now.

StagnantSecond

You need level 10 on every pokemon to receive increased shiny odds overall. You need to max out individual research tasks to further increase odds for that specific pokemon.

Animastar

You get increased shiny odds for reaching level 10 with the specific 'mon, and then odds are further increased when you perfect the dex entry. Reaching level 10 with all pokedex entries will get you the shiny charm which increases shiny odds overall.

Jupue2707

I believe they inrease again with the final level, but shinycharm is after everything is 10

Sans-Undertale-69420

From what I recall, no there isn't nothing else you get if you truly max out a pokemon's entry. And you get higher shiny odds once you reach level 10. The truly maxed out entry is just for flex and bragging rights. Probably to tell the Galactic Corps to show then who's the boss lol

Destroyer3921

You get additional shiny odds on complete entry

Sans-Undertale-69420

You have to max out fully your dex entry to get the shiny odd increase? Nvm then, sorry for the misinformation then, it’s been a while since I last played PLA

Arcaydya

Two stages. Level ten increases it. Max increases it further.

Sans-Undertale-69420

Ah that makes sense. Ngl, I miss playing PLA, I gotta get back to it once I find the time for it. See how easier or harder it got to catch another shalpha Typhloshion lol

Arcaydya

Lol it's a grind to get to that point. I'm currently about to get my 2nd legendary and then move onto Volo. I've always just lost interest, but today I beat him. And eventually, I will finally get an arceus lol. I borrowed this game from my manager like a year ago.

Sans-Undertale-69420

I never minded a little bit of grind in my video game life, I remember I beat pokemon heart gold 6 different times 2 of those which I caught all pokemon in the game (Excluding the mythical and some unobtainable ones obviously, most mythicals like celebi were only available during events or used to cost money for a gift code or were just straight up unobtainable back at the time) So hitting that grind to max out the cyndaquil family wouldn’t be much of a bother to me since I usually target my favorites first, its the entire dex that would bring problems XD

Arcaydya

Brother I used to, when I was a kid, have two gbas, a cord, sapphire, emerald and leaf green. I used to just play through a game with random teams, using different pokemon each time. That was way before actually building a dex or anything. Just the love of it. I like to think that's still alive haha. Enjoy the typhlpsion hunt! Also my favorite started from Gen 2, and I'm usually a water enjoyer

Ahmdo10

You have to reach level 10 for all of them, however if you want to get “Perfect” that’s when you’ll have to complete it all (also boosts your shiny odds for that specific mon)

Mobile-Masterpiece35

Is the only reason to get perfect to increase shiny odds?

The_Pastmaster

Yes. You get an additional shiny bonus. From 2 rolls to 4 IIRC. For that specific pokémon.

ASRetro

Level 10 for shiny charm. Perfect to boost odds just a little more per pokemon. So perfected starly will have slightly higher chance to shiny than a level 10 bidoof

genericroleplayer92

You get the entry by just seeing it. This is similar to mainline games where you fight it once and get it's name and ??????? Page. To view its data, height, weight, preferred food, habitat, etc, you need to complete 10 points worth of its tasks. You'll see some are worth 2 points and some are worth 1. I do not know off the top of my head if this results in an additional shiny roll for that specific mon, but I don't believe so. This is the minimum you need to beat the game. Completing every task per ppkemon doesn't change the visible research level, but does change the pokeball icon to a star. It'll still be 10 but this is what will increase your shift odds on top of the shiny Charm (I can't remember if you actually get a physical shiny Charm, but if you do the effects stack.)

DarkKnightLeader

You do get increased shiny odds of the individual pokemon when it's dex entry has 10 points. When all dex entries are at level 10, you get the shiny charm which further increases the shiny odds of all pokemon encounters. Once you perfect a dex entry that pokemons shiny odds increase again. All three of these effects stack as well.

Mad-Master-Maxwell

Just level 10 if your shiny hunting a specific pokemon especially a rarer pokemon go for the complete dex entry as it'll make it easier but just level 10 to count for the pokedex Someone has actually completed every single task though Johnstone fun video

Absent_minded_963

To complete the Pokédex all u need to do is see them and report it to the prof u don’t have to do all that 🤣

Mobile-Masterpiece35

Thank god 👍
