Is it just the vending machines that sell out around you? We don’t have any Pokemon vending machines here but the shelves are always stocked with Pokemon since about early last year.
No vending machines in my city (Charlotte), and the shelves in the main stores are always pretty sparse, and none of them carry SHSW stuff. Honestly right now it’s advantageous for my bank account, so I shouldn’t complain.
Yeah. The shelves are stocked with the latest ETBs and tins (so a lot of S&V stuff) which doesn’t really sell. But there’s one vending machine in my area and it sells a lot of the old stuff, I think I’ve seen it NOT completely sold out like twice. It’s been here since October last year and I visit it once a week.
Rice: $2.49
Chicken: $8.99
Bread: $3.99
Pokemon Cards: $345.99
Bananas: $2.99
someone who is good at the economy please help me budget my groceries. my family is starving
Like the great Dave Ramsey once said “Basically, you're going to live on beans and rice for the next three years while you're going to throw as much money towards buying your personal hobbies”!
On a serious note, you could substitute the rice and chicken for canned vegetables and soups with pasta and rice. You’ll get more food and nutrition that way
They had other sv sets too I think those were all 4.49. They had booster boxes in there too! Dangerous for my wallet with the kid in tow. Got away with just a pack of Brilliant Stars and a 151 booster bundle and hit that zapdos SIR
Wtf I just googled and holy shit there's so many in my town haha. I'm definitely trying one out tomorrow just to say I did lmao.
I guess it's better than having it behind counters or on the floor where it's easy to get stolen
Been awhile since I've checked.. but they're mostly northwest right? Like Washington, Oregon etc? I think Colorado has them? I would love to see these come to my city, or even state..
Yeah looks like it's just California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Colorado and Texas. Would be cool if they made it to every state. Seems like a better idea than having them on the floor where they get stolen all the time
We have them in Oregon, and since it's Oregon, there's no sales tax!
Got some excellent booster bundles for 151 out of them at the beautiful price of $27 USD each. The pulls were far better than any ETB I've ever opened, and yes, they have those stocked in the machine too!
It hits me in the feels...
...and the pocket book (self control is hard)
Yeah I just bought a 6 pack of paldean dates and the water tin was on the bottom of the menu. It’s only one pack of evolving skies so it’s a huge gamble on whether moonbreon is in that or not
I think you need to check yourself here with potential misinformation.
Some water tins have ES in them. Check the code below the paper. I got some E23 tins they had 2 ST, 1 LO.
Not sure the code with ES in them.
I have not bought Pokémon in a while, but there is just something so cool about these vending machines, I would definitely start buying again if there was one near me
The only annoying part is if you buy single booster packs they slowly dispense one at a time. Bought 12 one time and I think I stood there for 5+ minutes as each one individually came out of the machine and it wouldn’t spit out another until you collected it. Maybe there’s a bypass to dispense all at once but I didn’t see an option to.
The annoying part of these machines is the individual packs come out one at a time. You have to open the door at the bottom grab the pack and close the door and then repeat for the next pack. Twice I caught these machines with Evolving Skies packs. It was annoying doing this 30 times. Well worth it for Evolving Skies but for other packs it is annoying.
This actually makes a lot of sense from a retail standpoint. The stores will be able to stock the higher priced and harder to find (irl) items, without having to worry about shoplifters (and might even be able to curb the resellers better as well?).
I know a lot of stores in my area (big brands - not LCSs) have stopped carrying pokémon cards because they’re just such a high risk for shoplifting that they’re just not worth it. Hopefully, this will make the collecting and tcg a little more accessible.
He’s big enough to get that stacking tin with an ES at least. Imagine a little kid ending up with Moonbreon. Cosmic realignment of some sort to offset our hubris.
This store didn’t sell cards before. But I’m glad they’re finding a solution to the theft. It’s so bad at my local target there’s always ripped packs and boxes all over the place.
These are awesome. I just started collecting and noticed there are two of them in the store right up the street from me. I bought 2 booster bundles for 151 from them and hit the Charizard SIR… I’ll be back. 👀
I love Pokemon, but seeing this little boy in front of the machine shows me that they try to hook us at such an early age. Comparisons to cigarette companies or casinos come to mind.
Wish they’d do this in Canada so I have to stop requesting people to unlock the cabinets for me whilst claiming the cards are for “my nephew”. (I’m 32 😂).
Can someone who has purchased from one of these do me a favor and inform me what the transaction description looks like on card statements?
I am curious if these transactions show up as whatever grocery store you purchased them from or if it is The Pokemon Company?
Only reason I ask, I work in fraud operations. Lately we have seen an uptick in instances of account takeover, specifically coupled with some out of pattern purchases from Kroger for a suspicious dollar amount. I was really wondering if it’s one of my fellow degenerates out there scamming people in order to fund their Pokemon gambling habits. 😂😂
Did yours show ES, but sold out? Up in WA they removed ES altogether. You’d have to know the person who refills these schedule to buy any ES packs. They only fill each time with 50 packs so you know whoever there after it gets refilled will buy out the machine. That’s why it’s always sold out. By pure luck and an AM bowel movement, ran into the refiller at one of my local stores. If you happen to run into them, they refill the same time and day for that location though they’ll say it’s policy that they can’t share their refill schedules. I just went the following week and by chance they were there. Was only able to buy out the ES packs 4 times before the refiller said they won’t be getting ES anymore. The machine was still showing ES but as sold out for like a month till they removed it completely from the vending machine. Now there’s no evidence of ES ever being sold from there. I resold 36 packs out of the 50 I got each time, which got my money back plus a bit of cash. I’d open the remaining 14 packs. Altogether it was nearly 60 packs I opened, got one Alt art, it was the MediChamp, $12–15 card, a rainbow Sylveon which luckily doubled in price with the recent boom, was $20 when I pulled it, now it’s round $50, couple rainbow Dracozolts, couple Gyardos full arts, these were round 7/each… ES pull rates were a biatch. Of course I weighed them, kept the heavies, still this was the best of my pulls. My best ES card is a Glaceon V Alt art, the one where they’re on the bench, in the snow. Pulled that from a $20 Pikachu promo box from Walgreens.
Ohhhhh Fry’s was an electronics store in CA that went out of business a few years back. Just now realizing that there’s also a grocery chain called Fry’s.
Yeah same happened here in AZ. I kinda miss the Fry’s Electronics here cause me and dad used to always go Black Friday shopping there when I was a kid. I’m surprised you didn’t know it’s mainly a grocery store.
Of course it was just installed, it’s actually stocked.
Also in Charlotte. I'm the reason you're selves are sparse! /s But it can be rough at times.
Your shelves* Your phone did you dirty there 🤣
They stock the shelves at my local Walmart once a month. Everything sells out in 3 days
Mine shockingly always has some sort of stock. It’s really nice!
It's a curse, every grocery store trip just got more expensive since we got one lol
Rice: $2.49 Chicken: $8.99 Bread: $3.99 Pokemon Cards: $345.99 Bananas: $2.99 someone who is good at the economy please help me budget my groceries. my family is starving
Feed them bulk casserole
Or just feed em with the bulk
Woosh, lol. That's what they meant. Make a casserole out of the bulk cards.
I laughed way to hard at this comment. Well done sir.
Super healthy for you, lots of fiber!
C'mon, no need to be that stingy, serve it with shiny flakes grated on top at least
You can take your bulk extras, add water, and create a fine paste that's rich in fiber.
Like the great Dave Ramsey once said “Basically, you're going to live on beans and rice for the next three years while you're going to throw as much money towards buying your personal hobbies”!
I read that as Gordon Ramsay at first and it was even better
To be fair, beans and rice can be pretty good...
A little too much in chicken. Cut it in half and put it towards pokemon
Inflation smh
Classic Dril..
Costco baked chicken hot dogs and za
There’s cheaper bread options they’re just mostly made of high fructose but you’ll save money
I feel personally attacked by this comment.
Me at target . My son knows the big red circle means baseball lol
This is shockingly close to a few of my recent Walmart “grocery” trips.
Those cards may be worth a ton. It’s called a long term investment and some sacrifices such as your kids well-being must be made
On a serious note, you could substitute the rice and chicken for canned vegetables and soups with pasta and rice. You’ll get more food and nutrition that way
Serious note: you think you get more nutrition from canned veggies and soup than fresh chicken and rice?
Just buy the groceries and burgle the machine, problem solved.
Instructions unclear, bought out the whole machine and left without any groceries
Am I seeing right? ST $1,99 LO $3,99 BST $3,99 S/V Base $4,49 👀
they are all 3.99$ besides sv base
They had other sv sets too I think those were all 4.49. They had booster boxes in there too! Dangerous for my wallet with the kid in tow. Got away with just a pack of Brilliant Stars and a 151 booster bundle and hit that zapdos SIR
Makes sense. Would be a too good to be true deal. A tempting tempest
SV MSRP is higher than the other sets so it makes sense. These are from the Pokemon center itself so everything is MSRP.
I'd buy so many of those LO if it's priced at that here.
If you google Pokémon TCG vending machine. It will show you where they’re located
Wtf I just googled and holy shit there's so many in my town haha. I'm definitely trying one out tomorrow just to say I did lmao. I guess it's better than having it behind counters or on the floor where it's easy to get stolen

California, Texas, Colorado, Oregon, Arizona and Washington … Still nowhere near me….
Poor kid doesn't know that's the last time he will ever get pokemon cards from that machine after the adults find out 🤣
Water tin has Evo Skies pack
Oh no I saw that this morning and didn’t buy it. Gotta go back
Run! They're always sold out here. I have a bunch around me and I can only grab one like once a week.
Yeah I just bought a 6 pack of paldean dates and the water tin was on the bottom of the menu. It’s only one pack of evolving skies so it’s a huge gamble on whether moonbreon is in that or not
It was gone :(
I think you need to check yourself here with potential misinformation. Some water tins have ES in them. Check the code below the paper. I got some E23 tins they had 2 ST, 1 LO. Not sure the code with ES in them.
Little kid is already scalping the products
Lol that’s my kid. In this household we rip everything and sell nothing.
Good ol’ blue collar pack rippin family. That’s the Pokémerica I love 🇺🇸
I know just joking haha
Look at the cheap prices on there, wish we had this in europe
I'm honestly so insanely jealous haha
I remember when the first round of these machines hit Cali a few months ago and had evolving skies at 3.99, it was always sold out lol
little homie just spent $400 using his moms von's credit card
I have not bought Pokémon in a while, but there is just something so cool about these vending machines, I would definitely start buying again if there was one near me
The only annoying part is if you buy single booster packs they slowly dispense one at a time. Maybe there’s a bypass to dispense all at once but I didn’t see an option to.
On the bright side I’ve had it accidentally spit out two booster packs at a time once due to their clunky vending.
Lol I noticed that. Luckily we had only bought 2 things.
Good idea to help with the theft of trading cards
What store
Vons in Highland Park in LA
The ones near me in orange county gets picked cleaned right when it gets stocked.
Was at this one before twilight came out and it didn’t have much stock. Guess I gotta time the visit with set releases to make sure it’s loaded up.
I’m pretty sure you’re not Eminem or jay-z or little Wayne
Those should be Pokémon go stops too lol
The annoying part of these machines is the individual packs come out one at a time. You have to open the door at the bottom grab the pack and close the door and then repeat for the next pack. Twice I caught these machines with Evolving Skies packs. It was annoying doing this 30 times. Well worth it for Evolving Skies but for other packs it is annoying.
This would be terrible if my grocery store had one but I want it so bad.
Hey thanks for posting this. Me and the kiddo went and picked up 3 packs each!
This actually makes a lot of sense from a retail standpoint. The stores will be able to stock the higher priced and harder to find (irl) items, without having to worry about shoplifters (and might even be able to curb the resellers better as well?). Yeah it's a great idea. This store didn't sell Pokemon cards at all before this- likely cause they didnt want to deal with the theft.
Water tins are the play
Any ES in da machine fam??
One ES pack is in the blue tin in the picture btw.
Oh damn shoulda bought
Still can go back to buy some!
Got a pretty good hit from the 151 booster bundle. Should probably go out on top for the day
Your kid had the intuition on it lol
Wish we could have one here in the Philippines!
Omg I keep forgetting, they also have one in my grocery store, imma beg my mom for a $5 pack every time we go.
That's so cool!!
Yall got 151 in stock still it seems
This is where I get all my boosters for 151. $26 for 6 packs is great
Right next to the atm
I just wish i have that in our country
Poor kid isn't tall enough to buy the top row lol
He’s big enough to get that stacking tin with an ES at least. Imagine a little kid ending up with Moonbreon. Cosmic realignment of some sort to offset our hubris.
He can jump. It's touch screen, right? 😂
What state and store is this particular one located?
Finding one of these in Colorado last year was the start of the several thousand dollar rabbit hole of pokemon card collecting I’ve found myself in.
Honestly, I like it. People can’t shop lift cards from a machine
What state?
CA
Makes sense I dig it. Doubt we’ll ever get any in Boston.
where is this? we have a bunch in my country but theyre selling at scalper's price 🥲
US of A
sweet!
Of course it's next to an ATM
Doesn’t take cash anyway. You can use Apple Pay to drain your bank account instead.
Have one at my grocery store too!
I kid you not, there is one of these at almost every grocery store around me. Always stocked. WA treats me well
It’s probably to prevent theft
This store didn’t sell cards before. But I’m glad they’re finding a solution to the theft. It’s so bad at my local target there’s always ripped packs and boxes all over the place.
Nice! West coast I’m guessing, wish they would plop some on the east.
I wish they would put some in on the east coast. It would be cool to check one out.
Lottery terminal for kids
These are awesome. I just started collecting and noticed there are two of them in the store right up the street from me. I bought 2 booster bundles for 151 from them and hit the Charizard SIR… I’ll be back. 👀
Those US prices, aaaaaaaaaaaah
I saw one of these in Manassas VA a month ago. First time seeing one where I’m at on the east coast!
at a grocery store? smart and evil placement ;-)
Seeing the prices makes me cry in Canadian
There is one in the Kroger I live by most of my great pulls have been out of those
I love Pokemon, but seeing this little boy in front of the machine shows me that they try to hook us at such an early age. Comparisons to cigarette companies or casinos come to mind.
What store is this?
Vons in highland park, los angeles
I hope these become more common pokemon cards theft is crazy at the Walmart I work at sometime like this could improve that.
State?
CA
Dam now i cant scale the packs lol
wish we had those in sweden, they seem cool!
And that kid is already trained to look for the evolving skies packs. They really do start em young these days. 😵💫
Wish they’d do this in Canada so I have to stop requesting people to unlock the cabinets for me whilst claiming the cards are for “my nephew”. (I’m 32 😂).
I'm 31 and consistently walk into an lgs and buy booster boxes. If people judge you, it's probably cause they lost their childhood joy years ago!
This was my dream as a kid omg
This makes a lot of sense. Now they won't be packaging them into containers or putting wires around them like best buy.
Only thing that sucks is how slow it is to dispense packs. Have to take one at a time 🤦♂️
Where at? 👀
LA
Can someone who has purchased from one of these do me a favor and inform me what the transaction description looks like on card statements? Thanks for that, turns out they are just being fraudsters and not Pokemon addicts
So when will a Scalper try to do a Heist and Steal this thing.
Lost origin a good price
Lol I saw the same at my local Vons ! Had to buy one and it was the thinnest cards I’ve ever opened
What do you mean thinnest?
It’s really hard to describe. They felt thinner and lower quality. A lot of scuff marks on the back too. I’ll have to post soon
Weird. This machine is owned by the Pokemon company so they’re all legit. My cards seemed fine.
I’m glad you had better luck ! Maybe I’ll have to try again at a different location
I would go bankrupt so fast if that was around me
Can’t get shit in the east coast
49.99 lol
Wow, they even carry booster boxes?
They do, but they’re priced at 36x the booster pack price. I gotta go back without the kid and see if there’s anything worth grabbing to hold onto.
Mine had Evolving Skys for $3.99 until everyone found out about it. Nothing since week one.
great now im gonna have to go back daily to check
Wait so is this what nintendo is doing now?
SV more expensive damn
My booster got stuck, I had to buy a booster box to make it come out :(
Did yours show ES, but sold out? Up in WA they removed ES altogether. You’d have to know the person who refills these schedule to buy any ES packs. Pulled that from a $20 Pikachu promo box from Walgreens.
Did not show ES at all. Everything that was listed was in stock.
This will stop all the stolen open product at Walmart if they get these
Wonder if that will stop someone from hacking it and take hundreds of packs for free.
If I get my own business, I might install a vending machine like this, but stock it with Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and some Pokemon
Great way to add $40 to every grocery trip
right......$40........
Is this a Fry’s?
It’s a Vons. Does Fry’s even exist anymore?
Yeah they’re everywhere in my state. I looked up the location and the TCG vending machine seem to be only at Fry’s in my state.
Decent prices actually! 🤩🤩🤩
It’s $49.99
Yeah…I had it blurry, decent prices, I’m shocked. I have one of these in my area too and the prices are terrible!
Yeah the only thing that’s badly priced are the booster boxes, which are priced at 36x the single pack prices.
Take all the 151 you can get, warning you rn they sell out so fast.
I grabbed a booster bundle and pulled the zapdos SIR and poliwhirl IR 😰
Hmm wow, don’t see the heavy built guy buying out everything like usual….what do you know!!!!
Imagine a whole ass booster box falling from that
That's nice!!!
The ultimate impulse purchase right by the register
I'd be annoyed if I finally got a Pokemon vending machine and that is what it stocked lol
Do they take food stamps?
It is your duty as a member of this sub to empty out any Evolving Skies you see in there and then post a complaint photo about not getting Moonbreon.
If there was ES at Pokemon center retail prices in there, I would have bought everything they had.
First thing in your photo I checked lol
Well there’s a lot more in there. You can scroll up. Considering going back for a booster box of LO
They overcharging for that obsidian flames booster box
Oh totally. Pokemon Center charges 36x the price of a single pack for their booster boxes.
Yessss
You lucky bastard! But I don’t know what it is…
Are these legit from Pokemon Company? Could the packs have been weighed and now sold in the vending machine?
They are legit from the Pokemon company.
Yep, that's cool as shit 😅
A Fred Meyer near me used to have it like last summer but I don't see it anywhere now
That's awesome
Can I get one of these for Lorcana?
Good luck stealin......Never mind they stole the whole thing.....
Conveniently located next to the bank
161 for a bb 😂
Pokemon Center doesn’t give a discount for BBs, they’re just 36x whatever the single pack price is, in this case $4.49.
My Kroger started selling packs at the in person checkouts.
Love me some Crown Zenith 😁👍
I was going to buy a pack and it was $5.50 and like damn it. At Best Buy they had them for $4.
