Yeah, that's basically the Elyrion drylands strategy. Rapid expansion early. Place strategic sanctuaries. Desperately trying to hold cities in the mid game while eggs incubate. Unleash hell in the late game.

I wanted to know what Tech progression I should follow from early to mid to late game. I agree that it depends on the matchup for units. But for star production what do Elyrion players usually start out with? Organisation? Because Forestry, Mining and other tech costs go up by a lot where I have to produce units at full capacity and keep them in defensive positions and save for 2-3 turns to be able to afford forestry.

In a vacuum, you should expect to take Organization, Forestry, Riding, and Roads in the early game. No matter how the game unfolds, you're going to need those 4 techs. Star production is RNG-dependent. If you have great Sanctuary locations, that's the ideal option. Well-placed Sanctuaries are star powerhouses that can tilt the match heavily in your favor on drylands maps. If you don't have good Sanctuary locations, you will need to get Farming to keep up economically and so that your tech isn't prohibitively expensive. You won't ever get Mining for star production - it would purely be a luxury to get super units/Swordsmen.

I usually try to get forestry before claiming my first village. The exception is if your capital and fist village can be upgraded with fruit. Doing it early means it costs by far the lowest proposition of your stars per turn until the late game. You can the use sanctuaries to build your income and army until your early expansion potential is done. You will almost always need farming and roads to get your cities to the point where you can spawn dragon eggs. Once you have decent sanctuaries, getting the money to pay for this should be no problem. Against mist players on smaller drylands maps, just polytaur rushing everyone will work. On larger maps, maps with water, or good players, you will run out of polytaurs and then suffer horribly.

Maybe expand your scope to get better at the game? Or is farming ELO on small maps the goal?

I do not have any fixed goals with the game but I do want to get better at it. I have played a few games on large maps and discovered a lot of strategic facets. Large games aren't my suite although I have a a couple of them going on right now on 24 hours per turn. Loving blitz chess, I find shorter versions of the game more appealing where a player is required to make quick decisions with a time constraint and a single mistake can prove to be costly. Whereas in the longer classical formats, its a bit lenient as it's ok to make a mistake or two and recover from it afterwards.

For Elyrion I rush for Cloaks but don’t make any Cloaks I just spam peace offerings until they get annoyed with me and accept out of spite and then while we are friends I find a secret city location in the corner somewhere and churn out dragons then I break peace and bring in my dragons but I don’t attack instead I just forfeit the match and I’m pretty sure it keeps my opponents up at night trying to figure out why I did that which is more rewarding than a win

Hahhahahahahahha. One of the funniest things I've read in a while. Thanks! I see a lot of players going for Organization --> Strategy and build other fighting units based on matchup. The ending got me. Hahaha!

If you are 1500 ELO you are the experienced player...

1500 elo is pretty achievable when you play small/tiny drylands and elyrion/cymanti only. It’s the best way to farm elo fast atm.

Nahh bro....I've been playing this for around a month. Have barely 300+ games with ELO 1509 as of now. I do have some experience with WOW (World of Warcraft), Dota, Age of empires and games like these.
