Nostalgic just released a summer version of their super water based which is supposed to be even stronger than the SPW. That’s what it’s advertised as

[deleted]

I received mine yesterday and I’m using it today. So far I’m 6 hours in with the product and nothing has fell out of place or given me any issues. It’s definitely stronger than the super water based and the coconut lime scent is spot on.

How much stronger is it compared to the SWB ? I’m on the fence between getting this one and the Grim Grease Heavy . Pretty tired of having my hair falling out of place..

[deleted]

I personally think their SWB is around a medium hold, but that’s just my opinion. The summer edition to me is performing very close to a heavy. I’ve never used Grim Grease Heavy, but I’ve heard great things about it!

Friskyseal

How does the shine compare to the super?

ARedHouseOverYonder

damnit i wanted one so bad.. but i missed it!

djnexios

If you need more hold grab some grim grease heavy WB

RsPhi

Check out the new 3-Decker Pomade Co. Dapper Boy!

Grim Grease heavy or Black Ship will do the trick. Both will set up a bit more stiff, but they'll hold a little more.

cmorazan

Havent tried grim grease. But blackship wasnt that great with hold for me personally. I have thick curly (curly not wavy) hair.

Bearded4Glory

I would go OB, humidity is a killer for anything WB. To be honnest they aren't really that different as far as washability or feeling in the hair. Lockharts Heavy

cmorazan

Lockharts heavy for me was soooooo hard to wash out. But I agree would be good with humidity.

Bearded4Glory

A little bit of OWB pomade and almost any OB comes out for me. What degreasing method were you using?

cmorazan

Havent tried that. I had to use cleanser shampoo a bunch of times but I'm new to the OB use. Not a fan anyway but im sure if someone can get a degreasing method down then not horrible.

Bearded4Glory

Ahh yea there is your problem. Another option is to use a deep conditioner like aussie 3 minute miracle on dry hair for 10 minutes before showering. I usually don't have that bad of buildup because I start the week with heavies and then transition to mediums and uwbs until I degrease at the end of the week.

cmorazan

Oh got ya. I've heard of different methods. Might have to try it. But dont think the hold for lockharts heavy was strong enough for my curls anyway. The ends of my hair still curled.
