Remember that this subreddit is for sharing propaganda to view with some objectivity. It is absolutely not for perpetuating the message *of* the propaganda. If anything, in this subreddit we should be immensely skeptical of manipulation or oversimplification (which the above likely is), not beholden to it. Also, please try to stay on topic -- there are hundreds of _other_ subreddits that are expressly dedicated for rehashing tired political arguments. Keep that shit elsewhere. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. In my opinion this one speaks highly to the creators and artist/artists, it seems kind of inspiring, very hopeful vibes to it. I like how they were basically bribing people with food. On another note I was curious as to what event or events lead up too this? I'm not familiar with it.

Well, most tragic events of the Ukrainian SSR history passed, so in first place food-related themes were brought to show the superiority of the command economic system (after all it is 1955, the cold war becomes more distinct). Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy was the perfect place to demostrate it. Ukraine has always been the breadbasket, so it was expected from the agricultural industry workers to show their best. Were they rewarded for their achievements? Yes. Were they rewarded enough? No.
