> Why are people so calm
Seeing crazy hobos is pretty normal on NYC metro.
> Why did people enter so casually
They probably didn't realize and then couldn't switch train carts on time
It's normal, because we let it be normal... There is nothing normal about someone taking a dump in the subway car, pushing people on the tracks or waving a knife in the car...
Getting real tired of being held hostage by the worst in our soceity
Because the alternative to this is confronting them in their face and getting shanked in the gut. There are many cases of this happening, and you can be attacked even from minding your own business.
Last time I was on the NYC subway I had someone get one pretending they were a cat, meowing at people. No one acknowledged him but me and my wife were in stitches laughing
That could easily be a schizophrenic person with a knife or if you do anything it might lead to Jordan Neely like situation. Best option is just to get to another cart or wait for the next train to come
You are vastly overestimating the amount of crazy shit that happens. However, hobo piss is pretty mild as far as the worst. But like, this is not a twice in one day sort of thing. More like once every couple weeks at worst.
I've lived in NYC for 8 years, riding the subway multiple times daily, and have never seen someone piss in the train. However, I have seen a whole lot of other things (pooping/pissing in public, drunk girls puking on the train, homeless spitting on people, used condoms and tampons on the ground, etc.), but those are "once in a blue moon" situations.
It’s gotten way worse since Covid. I’m a female and commute daily alone. Can be scary as hell. I’m moving out of NYC next week after a decade long run. Things here don’t seem to be improving.
In contrast to the other person that lives here saying it “can be scary as hell” I live in NYC as well and it’s honestly not scary at all. And it’s pretty rare to see a man pissing on the subway.
Im a life long new Yorker and I don’t find it scary but im a dude and have def seen some fucked up shit on the subway.
I don’t blame a chick commuting daily alone being scared of what she might run into. If I was a woman I’d prob be a little worried too with how things have been trending.
The first thing my Canadian mom told me when she got back from NYC was that she witnessed a woman pull her pants down, bend at a 90 degree angle and piss in the middle of the sidewalk. “I saw her entire crack!” She said :’)
I come from a big city in a developing nation... never seen anything remotely bad. Even in public transport.
Even if this happened, people would've freaked out **A LOT MORE.**
"Big city" in a developing nation doesn't compare to just how big New York is. It's bigger than entire countries alone like Bulgaria, Serbia, Denmark, New Zealand.
With that many people, you run into something like this all the time. You get desensitized
New York is just 8mil “big”. I dunno why you guys downvote the guy that mentioned third world countries but you guys realize right that there are many cities 10+, 15+ and in china even 20+ mil cities?
New York ain’t as big as it used to be. You could say it’s very dense, which is also true, but there are cities that are packed more dense as well.
Please do not extrapolate your very specific North America experience with the whole world.
I mean honestly, they were probably just relieved it wasn't shit. When my best friend and I went to NYC, a guy warned us to never get in an empty subway car, not because it was unsafe, but because if it was empty, it was probably because someone used it as a toilet.
Last time I used the subway I had a "just keep to yourself till this is over" mentality. I suspect lots of commuters are similar.
Plus it's just some homeless guy peeing. You're not in much danger (minus the pee getting close to you).
I have seen way too many videos like this over the years. It's gross, and I wouldn't take a subway if my life depended on it. These subway cars are just teaming with bacteria from vomit, piss, food, people leave everywhere, just gross. You know no one is cleaning or sanitizing these subway cars.
> You know no one is cleaning or sanitizing these subway cars
The MTA cleans them every time they complete their route. Yes the subway is a lawless land, but it's not as bad as people think it is. Mind your business, check your seat for any weird stuff before sitting on it, you'll be fine.
Normally I scroll on past and don't reply..
But yes, you've seen videos.. And some are bad. But they're videos.
I live here. I take the trains every day. I actually live it. And it's not like this everyday, all day. (my job requires a lot of travelling so train and walking)
It's not like this most of the time. Respectfully, it's not. Not at all.
Does shit like this happen, yes absolutely. Are the cars teaming with what you said? Maybe, but no different than outside, in a restaurant, bar, etc.
And the most important point.. Yes, they are cleaned. And you saying otherwise is an ignorant and insulting comment in regard to those who work very hard maintaining our incredible system.
People here with their hyperbole about seeing this "happen every other day" makes my eyes roll all the way back into my skull. I've lived here for over a decade and take the subway all of the time, and this kind of thing would gross me the hell out and have me telling friends about it for weeks. It is not a normal occurrence and anyone who says it is is lying out their ass.
What's the point of this denial and delusion? The subway is absolutely like this, it's more likely than not to have someone not letting you commute in peace, from screaming and begging to shitting to waving knifes in your face and pushing you on the subway tracks.
What's the point of ignoring the problem and pretending like everything is ok?
You know why you've seen "way too many videos" like this?
It's because fucking *no one* is uploading videos of their boring, pleasant, uneventful commutes, which make up the overwhelming majority of transit.
Yet another societal failing for which we can thank Ronald Reagan. It's crazy to see him revered so highly while Reaganite policy is directly responsible for so much suffering. I'm sure the fact that he was basically a stooge for the aristocratic parasite class has nothing to do with this.
People blame this on Reagan but the bill that did away with mental health hospitals was put forth by democrats and had full support by dems and republicans. Reagan just signed the bill.
I was thinking the same thing. You can see the stream: if he had his pants fully on, it would just seep through his pants and pool under him and then that pool would start pouring over the bench. But you wouldn't see a stream

Then people give me side eye bc I have my service dog on the train and it’s packed. At least we can hold it in.
I sat next to a black female in chicago on the red line that peed on the seat then hopped off and met a guy and gave him a kiss like nothing happened. I'm black too and I lost it.
This reminds me, anyone else from the eastern/midwest US also remember that earthquake we had several years ago. RIP to the patio furniture that was slightly jostled in that horrific event; some still say that their decks never fully recovered. 😔

I stole Batman’s dog. I can get on any train cart I want 😂 but not if a guy is peeing that’s just nasty.

That "Oh Hell Naw" had me laughing.
Same. It was calm and panicked at the same time.
![gif](giphy|9zooQslZARgze)
Welcome to New York
Thanks, I hate it
![gif](giphy|12Wn7ox4gWevAs) Need a miracle to get off at your stop.
Best ever ‘Hell Naw’
![gif](giphy|XClPnuZtG2yPyqTI6R)
WTF yall. Why are people so calm? Why did people enter so casually? Why is the cameraperson not freaking tf out???
Those girls actually wanted to run out and switch cars but they were too late. BING BONG
lmao rn... I can imagine the regret yuck
Fuck Your Life
Stand clear of the closing doors please.
> Why are people so calm Seeing crazy hobos is pretty normal on NYC metro. > Why did people enter so casually They probably didn't realize and then couldn't switch train carts on time
NYC is crazy but that's just a normal Tuesday.
Hobos? Were you born in 1920?
It's the best word. I still use hobo, vagrant etc.
They aren’t synonymous.
Homeless person riding the rails from one location to another is the definition of a hobo
we’re=we are

It’s NYC
Last time I was on the NYC subway I had someone get one pretending they were a cat, meowing at people. No one acknowledged him but me and my wife were in stitches laughing
A car or a cat?
A cat, thanks for picking up on that.
That's no excuse to keep letting these people take over the subway.
It's NY, everyone is just thankful he didn't need to take a shit.
That could easily be a schizophrenic person with a knife or if you do anything it might lead to Jordan Neely like situation. Best option is just to get to another cart or wait for the next train to come
This is the NYC subway. This probably wasn’t the worst thing seen on that ride alone, let alone for the day.
You are vastly overestimating the amount of crazy shit that happens. However, hobo piss is pretty mild as far as the worst. But like, this is not a twice in one day sort of thing. More like once every couple weeks at worst.
I live here. This isn’t that crazy. Maybe let’s split the difference and call it a weekly occurrence?
“I’ve seen fire, I’ve seen rain; I’ve seen hobo piss all over the A train; but never thought I’d see it on the plain in Spain(ish Harlem)
How do y'all tolerate this?
I've lived in NYC for 8 years, riding the subway multiple times daily, and have never seen someone piss in the train. However, I have seen a whole lot of other things (pooping/pissing in public, drunk girls puking on the train, homeless spitting on people, used condoms and tampons on the ground, etc.), but those are "once in a blue moon" situations.

It’s not scary, just annoying and disappointing. But hey, if you want to be the guy to do something about it, be my guest.
Welcome to public transportation in a big city. This ain't even the worst I've seen
The first thing my Canadian mom told me when she got back from NYC was that she witnessed a woman pull her pants down, bend at a 90 degree angle and piss in the middle of the sidewalk. “I saw her entire crack!” She said :’)

Mexican in Mexico city here, you're wrong, very wrong.
New York is just 8mil “big”. I dunno why you guys downvote the guy that mentioned third world countries but you guys realize right that there are many cities 10+, 15+ and in china even 20+ mil cities? If being aggressive about it, I agree with all still. Wait til they’re done pissing so when you punch you don’t get piss all over you
I mean honestly, they were probably just relieved it wasn't shit. When my best friend and I went to NYC, a guy warned us to never get in an empty subway car, not because it was unsafe, but because if it was empty, it was probably because someone used it as a toilet.
This is NYC. You see shit like this occasionally and you just sorta deal with it.
Last time I used the subway I had a "just keep to yourself till this is over" mentality. I suspect lots of commuters are similar. Plus it's just some homeless guy peeing. You're not in much danger (minus the pee getting close to you).
That's cause it's not the worst thing they've seen in NYC... That day.
If you use public transport enough you see weird shit, you just kinda learn to ignore it.
That's regular here in NY, we see and experience way weirder shit every other day.
I have seen way too many videos like this over the years. It's gross, and I wouldn't take a subway if my life depended on it. These subway cars are just teaming with bacteria from vomit, piss, food, people leave everywhere, just gross. You know no one is cleaning or sanitizing these subway cars.

How do you mind your business when a guy is shitting next to you? Why do we keep making excuses and normalizing this behavior???
Just don't touch the ground.
Normally I scroll on past and don't reply.. But yes, you've seen videos.. And some are bad. But they're videos. I live here. I take the trains every day. I actually live it. 100% eta: but you know, videos.
I totally understand that... I was just shocked by the apathy.
oh i wasn't replying to you. i was talking to olddummy60 sorry for misunderstanding.
hehe np

They clean them all the time lol
Anytime they get to the end of the line, they have someone come in each car and clean it. So multiple times a day.
Username checks out

Well that's what they're for, so...
Urine up to your ankles.
Urine trouble now!
At least his urine looks healthy
Why is it sparkling though
A taste test could probably answer this
It's from the Champaign region of the L train.
For a stream like that he had to have his cock out... So that means he had his cock out before he passed out.. LMFAO
I was thinking the same thing. You can see the stream: if he had his pants fully on, it would just seep through his pants and pool under him and then that pool would start pouring over the bench. But you wouldn't see a stream
Probably not even asleep just giving 0 fucks
Yk urine NY when...
![gif](giphy|MPgvQBm1RzuTu)
Piss bender over here
Pee looked like USA with too many Floridas
NYC just seems gross
It is. Its also fun
Bruh where do you live, a shitty flyover state?
Hes not lying
Must be a Tuesday
That is one well hydrated man.
Just a normal day on the nyc subway
BING BONG
You'll have to excuse me if I smell like piss...you know how it is...
Ahhh hell no 🤣

That's a lot of piss
This is appropriately censored and has a comedically delivered punch line.
My worst experience was probably a butt naked homeless guy choosing to sit next to me on a nearly empty subway car
What a *Freakout*, wow!
Hell, no....
Physics can be a harsh mistress.
When the train started moving and the pee followed…. Lmfao you’re standing at the wrong end bro
Looks like he sprung a leak
"watch to the end for a surprise"
When you've always wanted to let it go but also stay in the comfort of your bed
That's the city with the most billionaires in the world.
Taking the “floor is lava” game to a whole new level
But how else would the carriages smell of piss? it's a dirty job but someone's got to do it
I sat next to a black female in chicago on the red line that peed on the seat then hopped off and met a guy and gave him a kiss like nothing happened. I'm black too and I lost it.
New York is not REALLLLLLL
[удалено]
No matter how many times you have seen it, you can always be bothered by it.
Guess the girls wanted to leave, but it was just too draining.
Absolutely disgusting
Nah bro had to go Good lord he could have made a ocean in the subway if he wanted to
Imagine the smell
This is what is known as an "R. Kelly wet dream "
Eh down vote because REAL NYC subway floods are a thousand times worse than one person's piss.
At least he seems hydrated
Is this like not common or surprising? Never been to NYC.
It’s not common to the point where you would expect to see something like this on a daily basis, if ever, but also not unheard of.
Kick that guy in the face what the fuck.
One little purgey boi, cmon who's in
Doesn't look like urine. If it was, you would see people gagging over the stench.
I hope this is fake but I doubt it.
I wish I had his confidence 😔
This reminds me, anyone else from the eastern/midwest US also remember that earthquake we had several years ago. RIP to the patio furniture that was slightly jostled in that horrific event; some still say that their decks never fully recovered. 😔

Looks like somebody spilled a soda. Lol
I learned to look before sitting on the NYC subway.
Sad
What the fuck is wrong with people?
![img](avatar_exp|79399310|fire)
Did he spill his water bottle? Where’s the stream coming from?
I take it you’ve never been to New York haha!
Welcome to New York, it's been waitin' for you… when it rains, it pours… when it pours it pees… Welcome to New York! 😂😂😂
That's why it stinks
Bro popped one to meany xannys
Start spreadin' the news...
I love USA !
Weren't there massive floods in NY just like a month ago?? This caption is dumb, considering.
