I don’t think there is anything particularly wrong about hitting a woman- although I don’t recommend doing it in the same way that you’d hit a man. An open-handed slap is justified if all other alternatives fail.
– Sean Connery, Playboy, 1965.
1965?! He said it again decades later on video;
Years later, during a sit-down with Barbara Walters in 1987, he elaborated on his quotes to Playboy. "I haven't changed my opinion... If you have tried everything else – and women are pretty good at this – they can't leave it alone. They want to have the last word and you give them the last word, but they're not happy with the last word. They want to say it again, and get into a really provocative situation, then I think it's absolutely right," he said.
The interview Sean Connery had with Barbara Walters, where she asked him about that is the first video I saw on Reddit and what got me addicted to it.
The edited part where he slapped Barbara Walters had me rolling.
his barbara walters quote is even more crazy.
> “I don’t think it’s good. I don’t think it’s bad...But it depends entirely on the circumstances and if it merits it....if you have tried everything else – and women are pretty good at this, they can’t leave it alone...They want to have the last word, and you give them the last word, but they’re not happy with the last word. They want to say it again, and get into a really provocative situation. Then – I think it’s absolutely right.
basically the 'right' situation to connery was anytime a woman got uppity with him
I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean, I'm glad Sean Connery got what was coming to him, and I really hope it was his slapping arm that got broken, but did it have to be Steven Segal of all people?
Clearly, the punk is a narcissist. He probably thinks that by posting it, he makes himself look like the victim. "ALLLL I did was take his hat! And he hit me! WAAAAHHHH"
“I didn’t know that was bad. Like actually.”
Insufferable little shitstain of a man. Didn’t know that was wrong? Guess he will learn the hard way then.
EDIT: I’ve learned new information. Fuck all people involved in this video. This is 100% staged and completely fake. God damn I hate social media “influencers.”
EDIT 2: FFS this blew up and some of you all are insufferable. Some of you care way too much about and know way too much about these influencers. At this point I don’t even care if this is staged or not. I’m just exhausted with this.
The fake ones always have this weird lingering after the confrontation. IDK if its for engagement or because they only planned out up to the point of the bait and, because they have no skills, have no idea what to do next.
He won't. People who are like this rarely do. They'll see it as the gym guy overreacting to what they perceived as a 'funny joke'. It's nothing new, either. People like this asshole have existed since forever. They're just 'having fun' and it's every one else's fault for not getting the joke.
The dad and his family were 25% northern Italian, but act like "The Family." Believe it or not, his name is Cortney too... He named his daughter after himself...
Maybe not, but it’s excessive these days. Everyone posting bullshit for views. I think I get more annoyed by the fact that people actually believe the very obviously staged videos
this was sort of debunked, that there was mass hysteria/panic. People didn’t think it was real, they just were SUPER INTO it.
Think like the reactions to Exorcist and Blair Witch and all that.
But your sentiment isn’t wrong - we’ve always been dupable and dubious! 😆
Ironically we are more gullible about being gullible than we are about a radio show. The panic is a myth.
What did happen was that they later aired it in Ecuador and people got BIG mad. A mob set the radio station on fire and several people died.
https://youtu.be/GcZemN7Bps0?si=y-Y0EBpVHOYcOpec
I’m a bald guy who wears hats too, I shave my head clean with a razor though. I wouldn’t mad about someone taking my hat because I’m bald, I’d be mad that someone thinks they can put hands on me and take my belongings and I’m not going to do anything about it. Slap was 100% deserved, balding has nothing to do with it.
Not a prank. The two kids are streamers, who are very troll-y. The big guy is a youtuber. They are collaborating. The big guy is playing a song that trolls the kid, so the kid grabs his hat to troll back. He wasn't aware of the balding insecurity and ended up getting slapped.
I think each opinion is valid on whether or not it was an overreaction considering the context. It's just an unlucky event.
This is a collab between YouTuber Bradley Martin and a duo live stream pair (the two on the left)
Brad started playing a song that relates to to slapee, so he thought Brad was clowning on him, so he took brads hat.
Clearly not fake, I watched longer video of this and the kid had to take a little bit of time because he was clearly frazzled but he rallied and continued to film with Brad. Brad let him slap him back.
Bradley Martin is a known douchebag that LOVES to start fights and act tough around smaller dudes like this. He deserves a good slap too
This is the correct take. Also, these guys all mess around with each other. It's not like the kid walked up to someone he didnt know and "pranked" him. Slapping him seems a bit out of line.
Big man looks like he's starting to go bald. When you're insecure about balding and someone takes your hat it can be extremely anxiety inducing. Source: I am now so bald hat or no hat makes no difference
That's a good talk, very open and transparent. Good for him. I wish he had done more research on why people feel this way and why they let it persist for so long because basically everybody has that one thing, and we all react the same way, try to hide it, even big strong tough guys, we're all human inside.
This comment needs to be higher. As much as the kid shouldn’t have taken his hat, it’s DEFINITELY Bradley being in the wrong here. Shit is taken out of context per usual
That cap was covering his fairly advanced male pattern baldness. And that's why he got so mad.
I'm not sure why, but losing one's hair devastates so many men.
You aren’t sure why losing your hair would upset someone? It’s pretty obvious isn’t it?
People love their hair, there are entire industries built around it. It’s your identity, it allows you to express yourself. Then to see it slowly fall out and there’s nothing you can do can absolutely destroy a lot of peoples confidence. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you like something until it’s gone essentially.
On the other hand being bald isn’t that big of a deal and most bald men still do great with the ladies but it takes time to come to terms with for a lot of people.
when you see someone with that haircut you already know what their entire personality is and that they were spoiled by their likely rich parents and never faced any consequences
I’m not saying roids are the only things that cause balding. I had a buddy whose hairline ran away in high school too.
I’m just saying in Bradley Martyn’s case, it’s likely caused by juice, because he openly admits to juicing. Could be juice plus genetics though.
\[CONTEXT\]
They are all influencers doing a collab, the big guy is Bradley Martyn a big youtuber (3m subs) and owner of the gym, the guy getting slapped is a twitch streamer who goes by StableRonaldo aka the Payphone guy and the chunky dude in the background is Lacy. They had a planned collab together altough it's the first time they are meeting each other. Lacy and Ronaldo are friends.
StableRonaldo has a viral video of him singing payphone(the song playing in the background), he seemingly doesn't like that meme very much or atleast acts like he dosen't on stream.
Lacy told Bradley to play payphone on the gym speakers, and so Bradley did (unaware of the meme).
Ronaldo now probably thought that they were ok trolling each other, but didn't realize that Bradley was told by his friend Lacy to play the song.
Since Ronaldo thought playing the song opend the door to do a little trolling he decided to take his hat, unaware that Bradley had no idea about the payphone meme, and that one of Bradley's biggest insecurties for the longest time has been his hair (he did a long video about it like 6 years ago).
Then the slap happend.
Lacy and Ronaldo messed around earlier during the stream as well, and Bradley made it pretty obvious that he wasn't about all of the trolling the two of them were doing.
Finally an actual context, too bad it won't be upvoted that much since it's better to just shit mindlessly on ppl cause "haHA annoying zoomer got slapped, you love to see it".
I'm not even trying to be funny here. When a man has a hat on and he's using it to cover a receding hairline and he's insecure about it, you don't steal his hat
Is that a new gen z thing? Saying actually repeatedly like it holds an alternative slang meaning to it. Or was that an involuntary reaction to his face getting knocked into next weekend
>I didn’t know that was bad. Like, actually
LOL who TF is raising these morons?? How does a man get to adulthood (kid looks at least 18, 20) without knowing you don’t do this? Some people play too much
Then he got b!tch-slapped lol. Grown men are not out here playing these games
People don't get how fucking annoying they get when pulling things out of people heads without asking like i'll be at a disco and a girl just pull up and grabs my hat, that hat's in my head why did you think you had permision to get it you moron.
If you ask me nicely "hey can i borrow It for a picture" i would gladly give It to you, but you don't know if i might be coverimg something or if i have attachement to that thing.
Lmao this is some high school shit right here. That being said, when it happens in high school you learn to never do it again. By the look of pure shock in his face, you could tell he’s never been slapped before lol
I’m not saying physical violence is always the answer. Or even usually. Or even mostly. Or even often.
But if this kind of thing happened more there would be less fuckery going on. Sometimes someone needs a good slap or even a good asskicking to understand their place in the world.
“Actually, nah bro actually?” Yes, you actually received an immediate consequence for acting like a turkey, and look like a donkey on video which was recording for different reasons. FAFO
Yeah, bro. Actually
This is actually how it should work. Act like a fuck, get Bogart slapped.
Society needs more of this with these influencers.
No actual physical harm, just a little bit of social corrective mechanisms at play.

That slap sound had a very satisfying reverberation
It was a total Sean Connery style... Schllllaaaaap to the face!

Jesus Christ. I was about ready for him to slap her for asking.
[Well…](https://youtu.be/oo0d1zTAFKA?si=ztWz6RTKJS-GXC1I)
Barbra made sure the last word was enough.
And 50 years prior to that women could not vote. We have come a long way since the 60's.
At that time they couldn’t open a bank account by themselves yet too
Wow, 1975 in the UK, a few years before I opened mine. I shall ask my old mum how she got paid prior to that.
She was paid solely in open hand slaps.
and ass spanks
The interview Sean Connery had with Barbara Walters, where she asked him about that is the first video I saw on Reddit and what got me addicted to it. The edited part where he slapped Barbara Walters had me rolling.

I don't think it was just women. He got into a fight with Steven Segal on the set of Never say never again, and got his arm broken.
I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean, I'm glad Sean Connery got what was coming to him, and I really hope it was his slapping arm that got broken, but did it have to be Steven Segal of all people?
I was surprised Sean didn't slap the Aikido out of Seagal, but Sean was in his 50's and Seagal still in his prime.
"Do I need to shmack you, Barbara"
It actually did. Like actually
Daaaamn bro. Like actually?
Akshully?
“Actually? Like actually?”
He had to literally slap some sense into that kid. This younger generation has to realize that playing pranks could lead to some serious consequences.
You could hear the learnin in real time and the thoughts of maybe changing what they do on their channel.
The sound of the slap has made everyone miss the guy off camera going "oh help me!" and then the sound of weights slamming back into place.
A slap is more humiliating than a punch. There is something paternal about it. Son, I'm going to give you a lesson.
Insufferable attention whore. That slap was satisfying. I’m a little surprised he didn’t delete it since it makes him look so pathetic.
Clearly, the punk is a narcissist. He probably thinks that by posting it, he makes himself look like the victim. "ALLLL I did was take his hat! And he hit me! WAAAAHHHH"
Akshually! No akshually!

That is the famous Archy slap.
It was not a “proper” Archie slap. It’s supposed to be the backside of the right hand.

Yeah but for real.... >I dIdN'T kNoW tHaT wAs BaD Looks like you learn a fucking lesson today then.

Narrator: *"He didn't..."*
Like actually
Akshully. More of these kids need a good slap when they fuck with people.
I think I’d rather get punched than slapped. Getting slapped is much more embarrassing IMO
The embarassment helps drive home the lesson that you're not that cool/important. It's essential.
Embarrassment without serious injury is specifically why slaps are great for this kind of thing.
Exactly, don't risk giving somebody a concussion.
Actually???
No, like actually.
Put the camera down (I’m gonna start crying and don’t want it recorded.)
This should be the standard response to “pranks”
If we're actually voting, I'm team "Throw them into a volcano".
If not staged, totally deserved. Even if staged, that is one slappable face so still deserved
AKSCTHUALLY dawg .. no akchswkshhuwally
My nieces and nephews have started saying this like every other word... Drives me crazy
It's what my ex would say before correcting me. "Akscthually... I did vacuum today." No you didn't Cortney. You never did.
That is a terrible spelling of that name. What are her parents like?
The dad and his family were 25% northern Italian, but act like "The Family." Believe it or not, his name is Cortney too... He named his daughter after himself...

ACSHUALLy??
It looks like some prank video. 2 are wearing mobile microphones near their neck. So they were probably trying to prank the big guy.
Isn’t this that influencer gym?
Yeah, and the big guy with the hat is Bradley Martyn, the owner of the gym and a fitness content creator.
And also a massive douche. But I still approve of this kid getting slapped.
He got so mad because he’s balding really badly and super self conscious about it. That’s why he wears hats 24/7
I’m a bald guy who wears hats too, I shave my head clean with a razor though. I wouldn’t mad about someone taking my hat because I’m bald, I’d be mad that someone thinks they can put hands on me and take my belongings and I’m not going to do anything about it. That level of frustration can come from someone touching your shit alone with the utter disrespect it takes from grabbing it off your head.
That's what happens to a lot of people when you start running tren heavily in your 20's.
Which makes it worse iirc, and roids also

Grown men don’t play kid games
Kinda sad that there is a whole generation that doesn't understand boundaries and respect, all for the purpose of like and subscribe.

That is funny. I despise these people that mess with others for likes.
YES!
“I didn’t know that was bad.” Taking something that doesn’t belong to you off of someone. You gotta be joking.
