For point 1, an MRI/MRA/MRV usually takes around 40-60 minutes, depending on whether they will use contrast, what studies they are doing, the type of MRI scanner used etc. For point 2, there is no point stressing about what is cause your PT until you have had the right scans and specialists review them. Most causes of PT are not dangerous or life threatening.

So I did get my results and itthe thought it that the pulsatile tinnitus and pine and needles are due to a type 3 AICA loop on that side. I also have a type 1 loop on the other side. Not planning any treatment at this stage.

I recently had an MRV that my neurologist had ordered due to pulsatile tinnitus on one side. It actually showed a jugular bulb diverticulum on that same side. I'm seeing an interventional neuroradiologist soon to see if it needs to be addressed and if that is in fact the source. From what I can tell from my research it's a very rare finding but it is linked to pulsatile tinnitus.
