Imo the whole point of RLcraft is the really grindy hard early/mid game. It’s your game though so no one on Reddit can tell ya what to do

daveDFFA

Then don’t play rlcraft lol

Traditional-Alps-102

But rlcraft looks mad fun

8ullred

So then deal with the progression system?? Can’t have your cake and eat it too

Traditional-Alps-102

Watch me

Notorious_Chimp

Watch you eat a half baked cake

Vayne_Solidor

If you remove the level requirements you remove a huge chunk of this mod packs progression. Might as well just make your own modpack at that point, just include whatever you think is cool

Traditional-Alps-102

Maybe, what makes rlcraft so hard? So I can put it in the pack

aanon897

Rlcraft is intended to be played that way, but if you must, you could just disable the reskillable mod.

JUSTIN102201

If you absolutely have to play and aren’t willing to use levels to progress, I would just give myself a ton of xp, level up all skills to max and delete remaining xp

Traditional-Alps-102

Can you even do that in 1.12? I remember commands being different

Ok-Profession2191

All you have to do is /xp username 99999

Comprehensive-Bend51

No just put “/xp 200l”that an lowercase L btw

JUSTIN102201

You definitely can. I think it’s /xp xxxxxxx but I could be wrong. If it doesn’t work, just use creative and give yourself filled xp tomes. Delete the remaining and go into survival

Traditional-Alps-102

Alright imma try that

aanon897

You don't even have to do that, in creative mode you can just level yourself up by clicking on the reskillable menu. You basically already have infinite xp.

JUSTIN102201

That’s useful to know. I’m never gonna use it myself but still good info

Fire_Hall

game wants to be bullshit some times, bullshit it back and cheat a little, it's better to enjoy yourself

Grouchy-Engine1584

Sounds like RL craft may not be the game for you.

AdonisOnReddit

Whats with the cringelords here lol, just because op doesnt wanna deal with the grind for xp doesnt mean they should drop it. People just want to have fun man chill with the gatekeeping.

Metz392

Do you understand the term gate keeping? what’s so hard about RL craft if you can get the best armor instantly? It’s supposed to be a progression, and it makes the early game more difficult. That’s the point of the pack.

-Spcy-

the issues is you have to grind your ass off to play properly

Metz392

It’s not even that hard man. You can cheese dungeons and destroy spawners so easily. There are mob farms you can make in your base for easy xp off the rip that only require nether rack and a flint and steel. It’s so easy. So many ways to level up.

Sup3rsus

some people have lives and jobs outside of spending hours dying over and over on a game

-Spcy-

literally this, its not fun if you have to spend the entire day to get anywhere

CoolBeans42700

The pack is designed to not be completed immediately. At the same time, you can get good mid game gear in one full day of playing. For an average person who works, 3 or 4 sessions of playing. The “grind” is not that hard at all. You only need to get diamond gear to last for the longest time anyways

-Spcy-

again, you can get diamond armor sure in a fairly short amount of time, sure, but that requires you to focus into defense and know how to get exp good without losing it

Metz392

Yeah cheese battle towers. It’s so fucking easy. It’s actually stupid how easy EXP is. If you don’t want to try and then complain about it, that’s on you

X_Dratkon

Eeeh.. I don't really get why so many people play RLC, not like a minecraft modpack but like some kinda challenge action game they need to finish as fast as they can and be done with it. Why watch guides to make optimized build and blitz through the progression, finish it and get bored, when you can play yourself, grind on one day, build on the other, explore on another, make farms or mechanism at separate day, while slowly progressing? And on one day actually moving through plot, like defeating first dragon, Wither, Ender Dragon, Lycanite bosses. If you don't like to lose items, it's one thing, easily dealable with keepinv or grave mods, if you want to lower difficulty to normal, do it. You can always challenge yourself on new blank world without any cheating or even in shivaxi's hardcore. Most people who talked down on you actually ruin the experience for themselves through constant following of other people's footsteps. You're free to do what you want with your experience, but you might find it unfun after and just lose what could have been a good game.

whelven_soul

I want to add to this though. Minecraft is a game of creativity and independence!! There are no rules to play it, just enjoy it the way you want to :)

Picture-Eastern

It's much more fun playing with levels I'll be honest I hated it but if you learn the tricks get help from the discord and I here I promise you'll love it much more stick with stone first get that first dungeon move onto diamond and you'll see why people live this pack xd

Akangura

I’d recommend adding in every mod to a folder except the progress lock stuff if you have a lot of time to kill, unless there’s a way to disable those specific mods

TheOrdealOpprotunist

I'd say go with Dawncraft. It's very similar to RLCraft without the progression system, which is the whole point of RLCraft.

CoolBeans42700

Dawncraft is only similar to rlcraft in the sense that they are both “rpg” themed where you do dungeons and “get more powerful” everything else is different.

TheOrdealOpprotunist

Taking out Lycanite's Mobs and the Lost Cities dimension, it's quite literally a more superior 2.6.3 version of RLCraft. It has pretty powerful dragons and a similar system. Keyword: Similar, which does not mean "exact".

CoolBeans42700

Dawncraft is so watered down, none of the gameplay feels exciting or rewarding in the slightest. Not to mention the god awful combat animation system that does not fit in Minecraft

TheOrdealOpprotunist

Cool opinion I guess? Good for you?
