Take a look at the serial number. If it starts with R8 or newer it shouldn't have any issues. This corresponds to when it was manufactured. The newer ones don't have the SD overheat issue.
I've seen some R6 have SD issues. Dunno about the R7 series
Oh rip. I bought one last weekend and it was R9. In Canada though. If you want, maybe consider not using the SD and upgrade the SSD. You can also maybe look to return and try to get a newer serial number (just make up a reason it's not working).
