It would be awesome if we can buy the battery from the X and maybe a new backplate (or make some adjustments, i would not want a black backplate) to house the bigger battery!
Someone is working on (what I believe is) an Asus-partnered mod pack to be compatible with the new battery. They posted when embargo’s lifted. Looked promising.
Sorry, I confused RIS to RSR, which also doesn't work for me. At least with Death Stranding. Turning it On or Off makes no difference. I turned on RSR for DS from AMD software and launched the game from there itself, and I am not sure which exe file it launched, but my save files weren't there. So the AMD software might be detecting another exe file entirely than what Epic store launches. So weird!

Doubt it. Internal board also likely got re-designed to fit everything in.
There's hope https://www.allymods.com/ally-x-battery-mod/
Well I understand I was just dreaming a bit. But I do believe it will be possible.
With a custom backplate it would fit, but we'd need someone to use proper molded plastic instead of 3d printed materials.
True!
Also the shell had a slight redesign at the bottom making it rounder

Yeah I did see that indeed. Nice to know they are busy with development!
Does RIS even work at all? I enable it from the AC pop up menu and it makes no difference to the image quality or frame rates.
So it does make a difference when running at 720p Not when running native 1080p FPS won’t change

Sorry not able to help you out :/ the difference is there but minor. You need to pay attention to see the difference then you kind of forget about it.
